This place was one of the few places that were open for business on the snowiest day in January. After seeing the promising reviews, we drove here for lunch.
It's very dark and dingy inside. The carpet was dirty with pieces of food sticking and the windows were dirty and the dimmed lighting didn't help. My first impression wasn't good and I honestly wasn't getting the vibe here, but I tried to overlook all that cause I was looking forward to the yummy lunch.
We ordered Bo La Lot which is a grilled beef wrapped in betel leaves. It was delicious. They don't skimp on the beef, it was meaty and juicy like biting into juicy meatballs. My husband got the C8 Cóm Dãc Biêt which is a broken rice combo with grilled pork chop, shredded pork skin, egg cake, shrimp tofu and egg. He did enjoy his plate. Portion was quite generous with all the variations he got. I got the C20 Cóm Chiên Dúóng Châu which is fried rice combo with shrimp, barbecue pork and Vietnamese sausage. The portion is quite large. There were 2-3 other tables beside us at the time of our visit and I noticed that all of them ordered Pho.
The service can be a hit or miss. One of the older lady who seated us actually came to check on all of the patrons one time while we were dining, but the other servers would look away when I called out to them, needing a water refill etc. It was our first time here and we weren't aware that we had to go to the front desk to pay, same place where people pick up their takeouts too. Price is comparable to other Vietnamese restaurants we've been to, about $12-15 per plate.
