The 16 Best Coffee Shops In LA

"If you’re a fancy caffeine connoisseur in LA you’ve probably heard of Menotti’s. This stripped-down Westside operation has locations in Venice, Culver City, and Tokyo (a flex) plus a roaming coffee van that pulls up to the Venice Farmers Market. And after a decade-plus in business, Menotti’s is still pulling high-quality espresso from a vintage La Marzocco for its straightforward menu of americanos, lattes, and flat whites. The fussier drinks on the menu (which aren’t actually that fussy) tend to be our favorites, like a Spanish latte thick with condensed milk and a zippy espresso tonic with citrus. Menotti’s Coffee Stop is a popular local dog friendly coffee spot in Mar Vista on Washington Boulevard with plenty of indoor seating options, and although there was a consistent line while we were there, it moved rather quickly. There is free street parking in the neighborhood, but make sure to read the signs to avoid any issues related to street cleaning. Have you ever been to a coffee shop with a secret? This was my first! You’ll find one hidden in plain site at Menotti’s. Pro Tip: Before you order, discreetly ask your barista for the secret menu location, and they’ll shift their eyes to point you in the right direction. When we went, it was hidden behind a framed photo hung on the merch wall next to a bicycle. I love a surprise & delight moment, and I ordered one of their top secret menu items, the I and I, commonly known as a 1 and 1, a split of an espresso shot, the other half with your choice of milk. I recommend oat milk, and it’s great to enjoy them side by side so you can really taste the notes in the espresso. They have special treats at the counter for dogs and our treat connoisseur Olaf the Doodle approved.

Google
Cute spot to meet up. Limited seating, but cozy. Parking easy behind the building. Long line, but music was good. Coffee : standard cappuccino - no frills. I would have liked a darker roast. Croissant 🥐 very heavy, bread like-not traditional French croissant.

Cool. Delicious top tier Spanish latte. Stylish chill baristos. Great vibe. LOVE the big open window. Definitely one of my favorite LA cafes to rest and breathe at.

Google
The Spanish latte was absolutely delicious. Beautiful coffee shop with plenty of open and fresh air. I’ll definitely come back.

What a lovely little cafe! I stopped here for a quick coffee and snack to go. I loved the vibe. They have a vinyl collection and beautiful setup behind the bar. The light is inviting, and it wasn’t too crowded or loud when I went close to closing time. I got the milk bread to go and the jam/butter came in adorable little paper cups with a wood knife. Love that their to go packaging is all compostable. Pricing was good, $8 for the coffee and a snack. And the flat white was delish, the barista even added some lovely latte art. Big fan of this place!

Amara

Google
My coworker Andy recommended this spot to me saying they have the best espresso in LA. Andy if you ever read this review. You were so right. I came here with no thoughts just knowing there we’re definitely good vibes and. The good vibes were delivered. The barista was so nice and so were all the other coffee goers like me. They heard it was my first time and all recommended the spanish latte. Which I got and it was busting. Absolutely the best iced Spanish latte I’ve ever had in LA. Will more than definitely be back. Also super fun that they have a hidden secret menu.

Google
This place is definitely worth the hype. I’m lucky enough to live close by, and I absolutely love their coffee. It’s got amazing flavor and gives you the boost you need to get thru the day. The ambiance is really chill too. The baristas are really helpful, friendly and cool. This is an awesome spot to stop in for a coffee or come and chill at with friends or to get some work done. Definitely try it if you’re in the area.

Google
Uniqueness: they have vinyl records playing jazz/lofi style music in the background. Cozy little coffee shop. They have limited outdoor and indoor seating but free parking in the back. The flat white was strong and delicious. Prices are average $4-8 range. Flat white was $4.50. Mochas are $8 for some reason. Maybe they use special chocolate or something. The one drawback is there are no restrooms nearby.

Yelp
My neighborhood coffee shop . Have been coming here for over 5 years !!!! The best coffee around ....amazing customer service and the baristas really know what they are doing . My favorites/ go to drinks are the Iced Vegan Spanish , the hot Spanish latte , the Iced Bees Knees and the iced seasonal Cafe De Ola only available in December. I really love that they are usually open during most holidays as well . For those who aren't leaving town or spending time with family it was a great place to go to in the morning and spend a little time with coffee crew members who were warm and friendly as always .

Yelp
I have been wanting to try the Venice location for awhile now but that whole area is tough for parking if I'm driving alone. Luckily my husband and I drove by this location we didn't know about and decided to stop in! I ordered the iced Spanish latte with oatmilk and it was delicious! My husband got the iced vanilla latte and it was good. We usually ask for half sweetened at most coffee shops but we didn't for the iced vanilla latte and it wasn't too sweet at all. While waiting in line to order, a few people were grabbing a few bags of their house roasted coffee beans. I saw everyone grabbing the Ethiopia one and (as one would) I grabbed myself a bag. Freshly roasted just 2 days prior and wow those beans are delicious! Definitely worth it to grab a bag to make at home.

Yelp
So happy I found this place which is right across the street from where I charge my car!! Super nice guy. Great matcha hot latte with oat milk and vanilla!! They serve pastries there too. Casual ambiance. Great neighborhood too :))

Yelp
I've seen this place when I've gone to pilatesmith and been wanting to check it out - finally was able to today. Nice little shop, I've never been to any of the other locations so I can't compare. Like others have said, this is more of a place to catch up with friends or grab a coffee on a Sunday morning. There's no restrooms or outlooks. You could work here, but probably not for very long. Service was pretty quick, the barista made my order right there and then and then I was rung up right away. The oat flat white I got was delicious. There's metered street parking or a small lot behind the Pilatesmith studio.

Yelp
If you are looking for a perfect spot to have a cup of coffee and catch up with friends, this is your spot. I love their match and their OG. Vegan spanish latte (although it is pretty sugary, just a warning). Ask the baristas about their secret menu ;) They have a small indoor space, but they have a lot of tables outside to be able to soak up the sun. I love how they have a chess and backgammon board for anyone to play. Parking is limited, best bet is to park in the neighborhood nearby and walk.
google avatar

Kayla Z.

Yelp
Very very cute inside. They have some games that you can play while you enjoy your matcha or coffee! I got an iced matcha with extra matcha (an extra charge but worth it) the green was such a beautiful color! Berenice and Vanessa were both so sweet and made our experience even more amazing!! The matcha was delicious!!! I like that they ask you if you want it sweetened with honey or anything else instead of automatically having it sweetened! Which I really appreciated because I personally love the true matcha flavor with no added sweetener!! We stayed and played backgammon which was so fun on a lovely Sunday morning!!

Yelp
I love Menotti's! And love that they opened up a small shop in Mar Vista for a quick pick-me-up. It's a small storefront with little seating, as the shop seems to be more of a local pickup and go, rather than stay and chill. They offer a selection of great specialty drinks and local pastries. I'm a sucker for an almond croissant to pair with any drink. I believe we've ordered the Bees Knees, a lavender honey oat latte and their Matcha Latte, which is decent. Their specialty lattes do tend to be on the steeper price end, but hey, that's LA? I love going here as their initial Venice location I visited is pretty hectic (I avoid Venice in general for the crowds and tough parking). This is a classic hipster coffee spot, as you walk up and order straight from the barista, and they always have a vinyl record playing behind.

Yelp
Tasty coffee and espresso drinks if that's your bag. They have a couple of locations on the Westside.

Yelp
Met friends here around 7:30a for a coffee date. I pass this place all the time, I can't believe I've never stopped! It's right on the corner of Washington, a block off of Centinela. There was plenty of street parking and a small lot in the back. There was a fairly long line but it moved quickly. You order on the right and then move to the left to pay and pickup your order. No cash, card only. The baristas were very efficient. I wish I had more time to look around but I didn't want to hold up the line. I read about the secret menus from other yelp reviews but the picture was not up on the wall, I'm not sure if someone else was using it or if it's no longer there. The ambience is super cute and welcoming. There are tons of records behind the counter and a sweet record player. And what a gorgeous espresso machine! There is plenty of seating, we didn't stay and sit but it looked like an enjoyable place to relax if you had some time. Cost was standard west side LA. $6 latte plus $1 for oat milk. Unfortunately this seems to be the norm, so I can't be mad at it. I'd say it's in my top 3 coffee shops on the west side so far.

Yelp
I was driving by and saw this cute little coffee shop. I was intrigued by it by the white exterior so I was drawn to come inside. I walked inside and it was soooooo cute. Def more on the hipster vibe and the music was on the relaxed vibes. I came late and by this time after 12pm there was a few pastries left and wanted something they had sold out of already, but I knew that walking in. You walk inside and you order your coffee and then pay after it's been made, FYI. The coffees were bomb. Mocha was strong and the smell of chocolate and coffee literally woke me up. The Spanish latte was a dime, it was sweet and the cinnamon on top was the cherry on top. Definitely coming back
google avatar

Kristine G.

Yelp
Very cute coffee shop that does lack the customer service friendliness. However, maybe it's why their coffee is so good -- they don't waste time with chit chat. I went on a weekday morning with my dog, got a quick cup, and out the door I went. Only complaint is that I paid an additional dollar for about a splash of oat milk but meh whatever. Maybe would go back if someone I knew wanted me to tag along with them.
google avatar

Rita R.

Yelp
The ambiance when you enter the coffee shop is chill. The line may be long but they make the coffee great! Always tastes the same and it keeps me coming back. I live in Inglewood and I travel to get their coffee. Dogs are welcome and kids. The music they play are vinyl, so mellow. I highly recommend this place, lots of long tables to sit at. I always have the Spanish Vegan Latte. My daughter took me to the location in Venice, that is when I fell in love. No more Starbucks.
google avatar

Maria N.

Yelp
Wonderful & cozy little spot! Super diverse customer base which is nice to see when you're sitting and people watching . Lots of fashionable people, dog-moms and dads, young, old, in-between and even a monk! I was loving it. Oh! And the espresso, DELICIOUS!!! I am a coffee connoisseur and since this was my first time, I ordered a simple latte to try it out. I LOVED it. Not bitter, or super strong. Nice and smooth, good quality bean .

Bianca F.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday morning with my fiance and dog. We ordered an oat milk latte, americano, turkey and cheese croissant and blueberry muffin. The staff were friendly and the coffees were made fast. The coffees tasted delicious. Definitely could taste that the beans were good. The blueberry muffin was good but the turkey and cheese croissant skimped on the cheese. Overall was a great experience and will be back.

Yelp
Look, I love the drinks there. Don't get me wrong. This is just a nuanced complaint about the service. I ordered a cappuccino today and placed it on the table that I was about to use. As I sit down, I noticed the table is completely wobbly and my cappuccino had spilled completely, probably 60% on the table. I got to the barista and ask for paper towels to clean the table and I tell him that half of my drink was gone. He hands me the paper towels and doesn't even consider offering me a new capuccino. While this is not a rule, I've seen it happening multiple times in other places. So I was shocked that he didn't give a damn about it. Now I understand Larry David's hate wobble tables.

Yelp
Love coming here :) it's such a treat. A truly beautiful and aesthetically pleasing space. Filled with light and beautiful plants and an over all Awesome vibe. Drinks are delicious and made to order

Yelp
Spanish latte is so yummy!! First time here and I will definitely be coming back the staff was very helpful!

Max P.

Yelp
Pulled up here to work for a few hours The coffee is pretty expensive, I'm a little bit of an espresso snob but I understand not all places can afford good espresso, but for 7 bucks a latte I expect good espresso. Only redeeming quality is the latte art, was very good and the barista seemed to have cared there. There are plenty of tables and the ambiance is good but the place clearly doesn't want you to stay, no restrooms and no outlets. Music was unreasonably loud for a cafe, can't even hold a quiet conversation in here.

Rob W.

Yelp
I walked in to an almost empty shop except for two people behind the counter and one customer or more likely friend. I greeted them and they continued to laugh like they were at a party without any kind of "I'll be with you in a minute" or other assurance that as soon as their fun was over they would return to actually helping customers. I stood there a bit and then decided to take my business elsewhere. Definitely some training and supervision of their young and inexperienced staff is needed. Or maybe profit sharing so the staff actually cares about taking an order...

Jeff R.

Yelp
Good coffee, yummy treats. Staff is always super friendly, lots of parking in back. Really cool unique vibe here. They play music from vinyl records... worth a visit for that alone. Not a lot of seating but that contributes to the cozy vibe here. Not a quiet place, but again that's the vibe, this is a spot to be social.

Benny G.

Yelp
I had high hopes given this was on Infatuation's list of best LA coffee shops. First, the positives: parking was readily available on the street, and the shop itself is quite nice with plenty of seating. However, the experience quickly went downhill. After the person ahead of us paid the barista didn't acknowledge us. It would've been nice if she had said, "I'll be with you in a sec." Her attitude was very much that she's doing us a favor by letting us visit as she changed to music selection that was playing. My wife had an Americano, and I had a latte. Both were average. We also grabbed a cinnamon twist and chocolate donut. The donut was fine, but the cinnamon twist tasted foul. I went back and told the barista. There was no apology; she simply said we could get something else. All in all, pretty disappointing. Will not be returning.
google avatar

Tiffany G.

Yelp
Delicious coffee, but above all really kind and helpful staff. A great place to come and relax with indoor seating available. Shout out to Derek for being so nice, much appreciated
google avatar

Rashmi V.

Yelp
My new favorite coffee shop in LA. I am absolutely obsessed with their Spanish latte. It does not disappoint. It gives me warm and cozy vibes. I love the ambience of the coffee shop there is some seating indoors and outdoors. The people working here are super friendly. I literally drive 30mins to come here because I love their coffee so much. I wish they offered food like bfast items instead of just pastries. Would like if they were opened a little later but overall I am super happy with this spot. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Jesstine G.

Yelp
The Spanish Latte by which all spanish lattes are measured. This location has a good vibe, friendly baristas, and savory pastries from Hatchet Hall. Music is eclectic, and usually pretty cool. Plus, they allow pups inside and there is free parking in the back. If you're lucky, they'll open the wall of windows and let in the fresh breeze. Those days are the best.
google avatar

Sayan D.

Yelp
I walk on my way to get to this coffee shop early in the morning. Only to find out they do not accept cash!!! And I only had a 20 in my pocket. They did not really try to help me get a coffee in any other method of payment. They just brushed it off as if I wasn't an actual customer.
google avatar

Julian P.

Yelp
Pro: Spanish latte, natural lighting. Visited this cafe a while ago and never left a review. They have two locations and this one is more spacious than the one near Venice beach: The cafe itself is full of light and in a good location. Parking was a breeze and I would come back to study here. It was a bit rainy this day and I enjoyed watching the rain with my cafecito. Service was quick and friendly. Drinks: The Spanish latte was delicious and I loved the cinnamon touch. This drink is sweetened with condensed milk and has become a personal favorite. I wish it was served in a nice mug but not a big deal. Overall, come try the Spanish latte!
google avatar

Justine A.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the dark chocolate mocha I got. I never get mochas because it's typically milk chocolate and I'm not much of a chocolate lover myself. It's safe to say, I'd come back to get another. Great quality.
google avatar

Isabel B.

Yelp
Venice is one of my go-to spots when visiting the LA area and I am so glad I found this coffee shop gem amidst all the different shops and eateries in the area. During my first visit I got a latte and it was absolutely sublime. The crema was amazing and the espresso did not get lost in the milk which requires great balance to achieve. I am planning to buy their beans the next time I am in the area but overall I will definitely be coming back. The shop is also super cute and not fussy at all. I love the industrial vibe -- I did not get a chance to sit inside due to COVID but the outside seating was perfect for a summer day.
google avatar

Olivia A.

Yelp
The space is pretty bare, not a coffee shop that wants you to stay awhile. Coffee is mediocre. Their coffee lids always drip, always. Ruined my top today and not the first time. I wish this was a better coffee shop because it's so close to my house. Not great, bob.

Tony A.

Yelp
No restroom. The best coffee in the world though. And I've been to places. Get a cappuccino or a gibraltar. But always remember: no restroom.
google avatar

Jenny B.

Yelp
Was in the area and wanted to pick up some coffee so decided to stop by Menotti's. I normally stop by the Venice location and it's always been great but it was a first at this location. Like some of the other reviews mentioned, the orientation of the lines/ordering is rather confusing. They're not really clear in directing customers where to order and pay. I think my experience with the baristas really warranted a 2 star rating. They were just unfriendly and unpleasant; almost looked like they genuinely don't enjoy their jobs. They had gotten my order wrong - which I understand happens. But when I had mentioned it, it was the way they responded and how they looked at me so confused. It was just an awkward experience. While the gentleman offered to fix it, I just declined the offer because of the unpleasant customer service. Definitely will stick to other local coffee shops nearby or the original Menotti's in Venice!
google avatar

Shawna F.

Yelp
such a good drink but I'd never go back cuz the service was genuinely so bad. we were standing in what we thought was the line for so long and the baristas (3 of them) just stared at us and continued talking to eachother (???!) my husband and I awkwardly stood there and he eventually asked if we could order & they informed us that we were in the wrong line...and then they never directed us to where we should pay, so we were once again awkwardly standing there... I guess this is the kind of service you can get away with when you have a cool spot, but going to a coffee shop is more than just getting a good drink - it's a full experience - and that experience was rouuuuugh whoevers hiring baristas should reconsider the criteria

Desiree M.

Yelp
Went here for a Friday morning treat with my husband and was very disappointed. I got an iced vanilla latte with oat milk. It was okay nothing special but came out $24 without gratuity!! I got two coffees and a cinnamon roll. Everything is charged extra like oat milk. This coffee was nothing special and I really didn't have an experience to make up for the price point. You can go to another coffee shop for way cheaper and better coffee.
google avatar

Ryna D.

Yelp
Above average coffee but it's slightly more expensive than others in the area. And since Boy and the Bear is literally only a few blocks away I personally would be frequenting Boy and the Bear.
google avatar

Indiana G.

Yelp
Super cool coffee shop -- aesthetically pleasing, good music, just a cool place. Very good coffee. One of my favorites I've tried in LA. Baristas were very nice. Also had an almond croissant that was delicious although it would have been a 10/10 if it was warmed up a bit. Will most definitely be coming back here.
google avatar

Joi R.

Yelp
I was a little skeptical about this location when it first opened as it felt a bit pretentious. But now I'd say it's pretty cool and has more of the familiar vibe of the Venice beach location. This location is pleasingly spacious with a good amount of seating, and the Baristas are typically friendly and helpful with suggestions. IMO Menotti's remains one of the better locations for a solid espresso drink, and the Vegan OG Spanish Latte is still my favorite. However, they have a changing menu of specialty drinks and a "Secret" menu hidden in the shop...see if you can find it. If you do, there's some enticing drinks you might enjoy, especially if you're into cold brews.
google avatar

Tony B.

Yelp
The second you walk in the relaxed vibe just rolls over you. This is the cool coffee shop you wish was in your neighborhood. The baristas are super friendly and enjoy talking about the coffee, the music and how your day is with equal enthusiasm. And they play music all day from their vinyl collection, War "All Day Music" was on when we came in, only one of my all-time favorites!! I had a Flat White which is my go-to drink and the one I judge coffee shops by. Menotti's nailed it! Velvety smooth with the rich flavor of good espresso. I also got to taste the Iced Spanish Latte which was so yummy with a nice cinnamon spice to it. I really recommend you try one. The shop is open with plenty of seating, an awesome James Baldwin wall mural and of course the turntable playing in the corner. Great place to relax or talk with friends. It's Washington Blvd so parking can be tuff but circle the block and you'll find something close. I'm planning to move in a few months and Menotti's just added one point for Mar Vista :)

Yelp
Stage Of Coffee Shop: Been open for 7 days, but this is there third location (Other locations are in Hollywood and Venice) Restrooms: No public restrooms available Credit Cards: They do accept credit cards. Wifi/Outlet: There is no wifi and didn't see any outlets to plug in Coffee Program: They roast Cat & Cloud Coffee coffee beans from Santa Cruz. Pastries Program: Pastries are from Gjusta Bakery. Location/Parking: Located on the corner of Kenyon Ave. and Washington Blvd.. Parking can be found along Kenyon Blvd., Washington Blvd., and in a shared lot in the back of the coffee shop. Ambiance/Decor: Feels like a neighborhood coffee shop. Seemed like the barisas knew basically everyone that stepped into the shop. Very neat ambiance with no trace of snootiness and a decent amount of modern furnishings (5 small circular tables, one long communal table, and a bar table facing the street). Can be loud and they play vinyl records in the background. Service: Service was great. Nicely (barista) was very nice. He was engaging, friendly, and attentive. Service speed was decent. Coffee For Thought: I got the drip coffee. I was thrown off by the pricing ($4), but the coffee quality and taste (low acidity) does warrant the price. Pastry For Thought: Tried their baklava croissant and thought it was quite delicious. Pastry was moist and wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be.

Yelp
I visited their Venice location previously and was over the moon to discover they opened this one since it's closer to home and much more convenient parkingwise. I went on a Sunday morning around 10am and there was a line to the door which was surprising, but it turned out it was one of the barista's first days behind the counter. Even so he and the other barista were making it happen, giving great service, and making some bangin drinks. I loved the decor of the shop overall and the record player tunes were nice to listen to as I waited. I went with a hot Spanish Latte which was my go-to at the Venice location and this one was consistent in flavor and amazingness. I also ordered a raisin roll since I hadn't had breakfast yet. I don't normally get pastries from their other location and there are no prices so I was a little taken aback at the $5.50 price tag, BUT unlike some other place the roll was not stale or bland. It was delicious, moist, and just the right amount of sweet. Totes worth the price as was the latte. I took my order to-go due to how crowded it was with the line, but they have managed plenty of seating in this quaint space if you want to hang around and chat with friends. Definitely recommend for a weekend "treat-yo-self" coffee run.

Samantha C.

Yelp
I found out recently that the newest location opened up right near Centinela and and Washington, and I couldn't be happier. I used to work a few blocks from the Venice location and my favorite drink of all time is the iced Spanish latte. I made my way over this morning and was greeted warmly by Mr. Menotti. He didn't recognize me personally but had a feeling I was familiar with the shop. The welcoming vibe, free parking, and delicious Spanish latte was enough to bring back fond memories. Also, their secret menu has some cool stuff I've never seen before! I'll definitely be back for more iced Spanish lattes :)

Yelp
Decent coffee. The espresso was not enjoyable as a straight up shot. Perhaps it wasn't dialed in properly. I'll give it another whirl. Beautiful decor and workmanship in the cafe. They have a nice flow being all word of mouth from the Barista to the bar back. I love that system. My pet peeve was the ambiance. There's something really off putting about playing joy division at 8:30 in the morning. It's not enjoyable and creates a tense atmosphere. It's the chaotic self denigrating joy divisions as well which is more moody and introspective.
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Convenient. Free parking behind B&B Hardware. The nitro is cold (don't add ice) and has s mix of burnt coffee and citrus notes. It's more expensive at $6.50 bs. $4.25 than Starbucks but sometimes need a change of pace. The nitro is from a specialty roaster in Santa Barbara. My suggestion is to splurge and get one of their wacky craft cocktail type coffee drinks. They may be $7.50 or $9.00 but are unique. The seating area is mostly communal and noisy.

Yelp
What a place !!! Love the vibe !!! Walking in the door to a huge James Baldwin mural from a photo of him in Paris, in a word WOW !!! Coffee's and pastries were flavorful and tasty Will be back soon
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
Such a cool coffee shop. The vibes here are 10/10. Had a sweet tooth today so ordered a vanilla sprinkle donut and Spanish latte. Maybe too much sweets for 8am but hey! Why not right? The donut was tasty and the vegan Spanish latte was exceptional. Love the Barista who was helping me out too. Nice guy. 100% recommend.

Yelp
Beautiful coffee shop! The inside was very well decorated and very clean. The service was good - the staff were very friendly. This shop is a great place to grab a coffee and read a book. We ordered a Spanish Latte which tasted pretty good. It was sweet but not too sweet in my opinion. Pretty good drink overall.

Yelp
We used to go a few times a week on our morning walks and thought the coffee was good but our experiences were so unpleasant. I eventually stopped going because one of the workers yelled at me to stay in line - they have this weird system where you order and then they want you to stand there for 5min while they make your coffee. I'm not sure why they don't do what every other coffee shop does and have you pay when you order. It's a pretty interesting social experiment to see all the confused customers stand by the register aimlessly. I would always just grab some water and sit down nearby the register until they were ready to charge me - god forbid, one day the barista gave me a public lecture that I was having none of and sent it right back. And that folks, is how you lose your frequent customers, the lifeblood of a local coffee shop, and eventually go out of business

Yelp
The coffee's pretty good here but there are a few things you should know before going: 1. Cappuccinos and flat whites are made the same way despite both being listed on their menu as if they're different drinks. Even though recorded history would tell you otherwise, Menotti's believes that flat whites are, in fact, cappuccinos. 2. If you order a cortado, they'll add sugar to it. They won't tell you this because they believe that cortados are traditionally made with sugar and that you should know this. Maybe every book and blog on espresso drinks is wrong and Menotti's has cracked the case, but they won't educate you on their revelation upon ordering. If you want your cortado made without sugar, you have to order a piccolo, a drink that's supposed to be made differently than a cortado and is not listed on their menu. 3. Don't expect them to ask you what size drink you'd like if different sizes are an option. They default to a large and expect you to know that. 4. The onus is on you, the customer, to order your drink according to Menotti's unspoken rules and redefinitions. If you don't, you may be berated by the barista (like I was yesterday). My husband and I had been going to Menotti's weekly, but we've found other coffee shops in the area that serve up drinks that are just as good, if not better, and don't make ordering confusing or give attitude.

Yelp
employees refused to make me a coffee 7 minutes before closing time. It only takes 30 seconds to make an espresso and 1 minute to make the drink itself. But she kept repeating that she "shut down her machine"... wow, refusing service just because they don't want to do their job minutes before closing . Awful experience. Just awful. I just wanted a coffee i don't think I was asking too much from a coffee shop.

Yelp
Overpriced , mediocre coffee. Ordered a latte and it was lukewarm. Would not go back.
