"Originally launched under the Instagram-famous “VENICE” sign, the team behind this neighborhood specialty coffee bar is expanding with a larger Culver City location that rethinks everything from roasting to drinks to interior design. The bar, outfitted with a curvy aqua La Marzocco, Mazzer grinders, a Curtis batch brewer, and one of just ten Bona Fide nitro systems that can flush hot or cold kegs, emphasizes technical craft and experimental textures. A roastery collaboration with Cat & Cloud yields house-specific batches—facilitated by connections to noted El Salvador producer Aida Batlle—and head barista Christopher “Nicely” Alameda draws on 20+ years of experience at Espresso Vivace, Intelligentsia, and Handsome to curate an evolving roster of signature and off-menu drinks: a goth-friendly Darth Mocha (activated charcoal, Valrhona ganache, espresso, milk, Maldon salt), the chai-and-chocolate Afternooner, a summer Coffee Tang (cold brew, vanilla, half‑and‑half, expressed orange oil), plus crowd-pleasers Caffe Rico and E&T (espresso & tonic). Housed in a renovated corner of long-standing B&B Hardware, the space features communal and independent seating, exposed wood rafters, a bar with vintage pressed-tin panels, and a striking photograph of James Baldwin that inspired a themed beverage and a small lending library of his books; the shop intentionally forgoes wifi, outlets, and a public restroom to encourage socializing and focused coffee appreciation." - Eater
