Mercado de Liniers

"A fine-dining restaurant, the name of which pays homage to the culture of the countryside, the omnipresence of meat and, above all, to the former Liniers livestock market where workers and breeders worked together like a family for generations. It is located in the extensive and lively Palermo Hollywood district and occupies a modern setting that was once a workshop (hence the light industrial vibe) with a kitchen that opens on to the dining room. Chef Dante Liporace, who spent time in Spain working under the legendary Ferran Adrià (at the erstwhile El Bulli) and several years behind the stove at Casa Rosada (under the baton of Mauricio Macri), showcases his cuisine exclusively on menus (Almuerzo (Lunch), Hangar, Highway Star and, lastly, the more gastronomically focused Too Tough To Die), with the leitmotif throughout his dishes the true soul of city of Buenos Aires and its surrounding area." - Michelin Inspector

For me, the majority of the dishes missed the mark, none of them were mind-blowing, some were good and the rest were simple ok, in my opinion. There was always something that could have been tweaked a bit to make it perfect. But I did love the full tasting menu experience, the service was great and you definitely wont leave hungry.

After turning to the Michelin Guide for a recommendation I was pleasantly surprised to see so many options in Buenos Aires. This hasn’t always been the case in this city. I decided to try this restaurant after reviewing the menu and the experience was amazing. The last 2 Michelin starred restaurants in BCN left much to be desired however el Mercado de Liniers was spectacular. Each plate was either a modern take on a traditional dish or a new flavor that you couldn’t have imagined. I highly recommend this gem and will be back.

I am not a food critic, but I want to give a review to the food I had: 1. Starter (Snacks): Best was the Karlsson soup. Ocoo Avocado and Cacio e pepe stone were OK. Did not like the thin Pizza. It tasted like Za'atar which was very strong 2. Block A: Spiced tomato tart, peach sorbet…: It was a good choice for the first course. I liked the light refreshing taste. 3. Block B: Cantonese tongue salad: It was good, the tongue taste was tender. 4. Block C: I went with the classic beef tartar, but I did not like it and could not even finish it. The taste of the tomato was really strong and dominant. Sweetbread was dry. 5. Predessert was good. 6. Dessert: Pineapple, avocado, lime,…: It was just OK. It needed s little bit of more taste. I think it is better to add to the pineapple portion. The service was good. Sabrina, the waitress was very nice snd also informative. Overall, my experience was good, but I think the chefs can go for better choices.

Tourist trap. This is not a Michelin experience. I will never go back or recommend it. The ambience is terrible. Loud music loud people. The food experience is not good, mediocre, I have been to El Bulli. I travelled al around the world. Do not waste your time, go for dinner to another place, Buenos Aires has better options.

I absolutely loved this place. Sam and all the staff were amazing to deal with. Everyone that I dealt with spoke good English and had the best recommendations. I ate there once and and came back 2 days after. Smaller portions, but it makes up for the incredible taste.

This Michelin star is a food experience. The chef combines textures and flavours in creative and innovative ways outside the norm for an interesting food experience. I loved the food and the service was outstanding. The price is also insanely reasonable for the food quality. 10/10 recommend

We did the “all in” full tasting menu experience with wine. Around 23 items. Amazing experience. I’m shocked at the negative reviews. My only critique is that the lighting was a bit bright in the kitchen bar area. I loved the food. The service was also great.

Sat down at 11:30 starving for a 10pm reservation. It was a special valentines day tasting and the sort of just said people stayed longer than expected. But they only told us that at the table. So in the weeds all night the service was over stressed and slow - they need a new GM. The food was fine. All technique - I remember little of what I ate. We were kind of into the idea that they have a dessert called homage to disfrutar - but having eaten at disfrutar they seem a long way off. Unfortunately they charged my card half the cost of dinner beforehand so we couldn’t even leave the horrible wait - probably the worst feeling with so many many many other lovely places to dine nearby.
