Google
Margherita's were excellent. Surf & turf tablita was good but all very garlicky. The shrimp and beans were stand out though. Too much for two people but enjoyed it to go

Project Mojito

Google
Went early for brunch. Got the kale salad with chicken. Was absolutely delicious. The breakfast wrap and a margarita.

Jacob Bracken

Google
The happy hour prices were AMAZING and the food was to die for! I had the carnitas and I was already full, but almost gorged myself beyond recommendation so I could keep tasting that delicious pork! We got a few drinks. Different variations of margaritas and we all enjoyed them.

Marie McGillycuddy

Google
Jicama Shrimp Tacos and Dos Gringos Tacos were insanely delicious. I’m not a fan of cilantro, but I challenged myself to eat it and was pleasantly surprised. Both tacos were seasoned to perfection, which allowed me to enjoy the authentic flavor of the dish. The churro-flavored ice cream was delightful- not overwhelmingly churro-based——it had the right amount of flavor. The service was fantastic, from the hostess greeting you with personalized attention to the waitress, Cat, who ensured you received the best. I'm picky with Mexican food and this spot in the Universal neighborhood delivers the real deal! I had a non alcholic Margarita - YUMMMY!

Google
Went to this place to celebrate my colleagues' bday. Loved all the food my colleagues and I ordered. Our server was Shayla. She was very attentive, kind and friendly. Highly recommended! Valet service is $10. They take cash, credit cards and Zelle as well.

Angie Houtz

Google
The drinks were on Point, and can I just say.... the tacos.... you can Not go wrong with the tacos during the Happy Hour specials. The shrimp tacos were our tables' favorite for sure.

Google
By far one of my favorites restaurants! It’s is always so consistent with food, service ,and quality. My favorite drink is the hibiscus margarita ! I’m writing this review as I sit at another restaurant wishing I would have gone to Mercado instead. Can’t get enough !!

John Sanders

Google
Couldn’t remember the name of my favorite drink they took off the menu, but the bartender asked the barback, and he remembered both the name and the recipe. I’ll give you the name: Claro Que Si. It’s a mezcal drink. Great LA chain, and the Hollywood location is awesome.

Yelp
Denise and Megan were the sweetest most amazing people ever. I can't thank them enough for their amazing service. The food was spectacular.

Dee F.

Yelp
So yummy. Small boutique restaurant. Attentive staff. Food was very flavorful. Will be back!

Yelp
Finally made it here. What a terrific restaurant. Warmly greeted when we walked in, our reservation was ready. Background music wasn't too loud but the space is pretty noisy with everyone talking. We ordered the set menu from the Dine LA promotion. Chips, guac and queso to start, all freshly made and so good. Then carne asada and shrimp, served with veggies and rice, very tasty. Bread pudding dessert was just okay (probably because we're not bread pudding fans). Our server was super attentive. Highly recommended!bb

Denis S.

Yelp
This is a solid "upscale" mini chain that doesn't disappoint. Really interesting drinks, really well-prepared food (the octopus was particularly excellent) and friendly service. Hard to pinpoint a favorite dish but we didn't get a single thing I didn't like (quadruple negative anyone?).

Yelp
On New Year's Eve, my family and I decided to stop by here, and it turned out to be the perfect way to end the year. We love good food, and this place NEVER disappoints. Take all my money and just give me the flan! There's no way we come here and leave without ordering it. The service was prompt, pleasant, and attentive as always. Parking is available on the street, but valet is an option, too. While the restaurant is always busy, you can still count on finding a seat.

Yelp
The ambience in this place is darker than I like but, the service and food made up for that! We ordered the platter for 2-3 people and it was so good. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the chipotle salsa, just because I'm not a fan of chipotle peppers. The jicama shrimp tacos were so fresh and a little spicy. The guac was creamy and fresh and the chips were . The margaritas were strong and refreshing and they had bottled Mexican coke and sprite. DLEISH! Definitely will be coming back here.

Yelp
Mercado Hollywood is a nice spot for upscale Mexican food and drinks. The margaritas are delicious (ask for no salt and a straw, because they're too generous with the former and stingy with the latter). Their meats are tender and flavourful. There just isn't a lot of it - do not expect overflowing platters here. The plating and presentation of the food is lovely. Your entire experience will have many Instagrammable moments - the whole space is very modern, trendy, edgy. Service is performative and efficient. We came for drinks once, and for brunch another time. We had margaritas both times, plus a michelada, the filet mignon tacos, and the carnitas plate for brunch. They use green peas in their rice, so since I'm allergic, I asked for no rice, clearly stating why. The waitress misunderstood and thought I was allergic to beans too, which would have resulted in me receiving two tiny $23 tacos and nothing else. I did receive a bowl of beans, but no rice substitution was offered (not even as an upsale of the cilantro-lime rice side). This was simply noted; not expected. Restaurants can decree a "no substitutions" policy, even in the case of a guest's disability, if they so choose. I would definitely come here for drinks again, and maybe get an appetizer to split if feeling peckish. While the food is high quality, I'd rather spend my eatin' out money at a place like Salsa & Beer where the food is bomb AND portion sizes are more satisfying.

Yelp
Love Mercado. They have a great happy hour with potato tacos, beef tacos, and carnitas tacos. Good drinks. Great chips and salsa. Loooove going here

Donald C.

Yelp
We were off to a show in Hollywood & stopped in for dinner. Easy parking, friendly staff, quick service & wonderful food & drinks. The star of the show was the Polpo Al Pastor -- perfectly grilled & seasoned (pictured). The calabacitas was also outstanding. The queso with mushrooms chorizo could be one of the most delicious favors I've had in a long time. Will be heading back for another meal soon.

Chris J.

Yelp
This restaurant came highly recommended and I couldn't have been more impressed. The ambiance is good vibes, but the food is amazing.

Dana B.

Yelp
Variety of tacos with great taste Chips guac and queso were excellent. Great spot. Will be back

Yelp
What can I say about it this fabulous restaurant that I'm sure many others haven't already said?!! I've been a few times and the food is always fresh and delicious. However, considering these are the same owners as Yxta, I can't imagine the food being anything less than stellar. I am now hooked on the lobster tacos and this is the main reason I come, although they have many other great dishes as well as great drinks. Service varies (sometimes when it's less busy we've actually felt like the severs forgot us-which is ironic) but when you get a good server, you get a great server! Would recommend it regardless but make sure for busier nights you get a reservation. There is a little bit of street parking depending on time/day you come but they do offer valet. Ambiance is good. Again, sometimes it's crowded and sometimes pretty chill. Do yourself a favor and pop over there for some lobster tacos and one of their signature margaritas!

Yelp
I love mercado and I have not been to this location in a few years. The cucumber margs (their best selling drink apparently) were good but had a lot of ice in them. It was rather dark inside and very quiet for 5pm on a Thursday. The mood didn't really seem to fit what they were going for, but that's my only complaint The queso is just as good as I remember, and I remember it fondly. The mushrooms give it an umami profile that isn't overwhelming, and it doesn't congeal together after 5 minutes like lesser queso at other places. The guac is delicious too, almost smoky but still zesty with big pumpkin(?) seeds I tried the ahi tacos this time around, and was super happy with my selection. The fish was so fresh, on a delicate tortilla. I added some of their spicy side of corn that gave the tacos a nice little kick. Some of my friends complained that the corn was too spicy but I thought it was perfect. The pair of tacos weren't super filling, but that's okay because I was devouring more than enough cheese for my entire party. I was about to give this place four stars until I remembered the cauliflower. I'm not a big cauliflower girl, even when it was super trendy a couple years ago. But wow this cauliflower was the best cauliflower I've ever had. Smoky, still crisp, cooked perfectly. I thought two of my girlfriends were crazy for ordering it as their main meal, but I would honestly do the same next time around.a long with the queso of course. I will be thinking of them both fondly now

Yelp
Truly the best Mexican food experience I've had in LA! Their cheese dip and guacamole are amazing and if you're looking for a good Michelada, this is the place to go.

Fazil A.

Yelp
Yooooo this place f*cks!! I wandered in because it's 0.4 miles from my house and I had a friend in town. We were looking for something small so we ordered the guacamole and a set of 2 tacos each. I had the jicama ahi tacos and she had the gringas. The guacamole is probably the best I've had in SoCal by far. They added enough onion to balance out the sour of the lime and tomato. I could've ordered another one it was so tasty. The ahi tacos were presented beautifully, like a work of art. And the flavor profile was unmatched by any Mexican type restaurant I've had the pleasure of trying in LA. I just love it when you eat something and you can taste the blend of ingredients as a new flavor rather than tasting all of the individual ingredients. Our server Matt was very helpful in navigating the menu. One warning I must give is the chefs will let you take things away from the items but they don't really allow substitutions. I appreciate an artist that wants you to experience their art the way it was intended. The tables are close to each other so you may make a new friend but this place is def not stuffy at all. Kudos friends.

Yelp
Great happy hour and the BEST jalapeño margaritas in LA! This location specifically. Service is hectic during peak times and you won't get special attention but do come back off peak and sit at the bar to strike up a conversation with the bartender and maybe some locals. Ambiance is nice. You can sit in a dimly lit corner with a date or grab a bunch of friends and sit at the bar. Always a good time.

Nijole T.

Yelp
The food and drinks here are fantastic! I love the service, they were so friendly and helpful. Food was ready quickly, presented beautiful and tasted absolutely amazing! They have a great happy hour as well. We've tried a variety of their dishes and really enjoyed all of them. Highly recommended for delicious meal in Hollywood!

Nathan U.

Yelp
I love the idea of modern Mexican cuisine and this place almost pulls it off if the prices weren't so excessively inflated. Carnitas is truly special

Michael H.

Yelp
GOURMET quality Mexican food!! Abandon all expectations of typical, tasty and traditional Mexican food once you find Mercado. Work your way through the menu over many visits - and enjoy your unforgettable epicurean adventure!!

Amalgamation P.

Yelp
Dogs must stay on the floor. They made me put my 4lb Yorkshire Terrier on the ground and wouldn't let me set him in my lap or hold him. Parking is only valet and it is $10. There was no street parking and no free parking.

Cassie N.

Yelp
Mercado has the best queso in all Mexican sitdown restaurants in LA. their happy hour is great although some of their best drinks are not on the happy hour menu. The house margaritas pretty standard a little bit on the saltier side would probably taste better with an extra shot ! Carnitas are phenomenal and probably the best deal. The dos gringos tacos are also amazing. I've gone to a couple weekday, happy hours here, and the crowd hasn't been too crazy. I've always been able to get a table. The parking is a little annoying because it's valet only and $10 even though there's ample parking spaces in the valet lot and I even parked my own car but still had to pay.

Emilio O.

Yelp
We are always pleased with the service and the quality of the meals and cocktails The ambiance is very chill

Lloyd B.

Yelp
One of the best places for Mexican and margaritas. I've been here a few times now and it gets better every single time. Start with the guacamole and chips. Definitely get a margarita - the Cadillac is a solid classic and the slightly sweeter blood orange margarita is good too. The fish tacos were tasty but my absolute favorite are the carnitas with corn tortillas. The generous chunks of flavorful slow roasted pork was so tender and juicy. The pork practically melted to the touch and was easy to pull apart to place into the corn tortilla along with a little bit of guac and tasty pieces of the grilled cauliflower. You can make easy reservations online and parking is a breeze if you valet (or try your luck with street parking).

Yelp
Love it here especially for happy hour . Bummed they no longer have the potato tacos those were soooooo good !!! Bring them back please if get a bunch :)) the hot sauces are so yummy and I love the margaritas a true vibe !!

Kat M.

Yelp
Loved the food and service. Will be coming here again very very soon. They also have delicious drinks .

Heather B.

Yelp
We had an amazing dinner for our friend's birthday (party of 8)! The guacamole and queso were very tasty; everyone devoured them along with the chips! It was hard to choose a meal as so many entrees sounded amazing. I chose the carnitas and was not disappointed :) Everyone loved their meals along with their cocktails (amazing margaritas!)... And dessert, well we ordered three of them to share, and everyone was delighted! The staff were very friendly, the ambiance was inviting, and the decor is fun and lively. Lastly, the bathrooms were nice and clean. We'll definitely be back!!

Lea S.

Yelp
Really nice vibe inside, well decorated - new and fresh, our server at the bar was amazing. Place is not huge so make sure you have reservations for bigger group. Food was good, nothing to complain or shout about - but how can you go wrong with tacos. Interestingly, I loved the dessert we ordered - tres leches carrot cake, of it was yummy

Naomi W.

Yelp
Have only been here for happy hour but the HH prices are hard to beat! $9 for a skinny marg and $11 for carnitas tacos! The margaritas are a generous size and the tacos are piled high with juicy carnitas, guacamole, onions, cilantro and salsa. Bar staff was friendly and attentive. I definitely recommend this spot for happy hour! Would love to come back and try some more of the menu.

Melissa G.

Yelp
Service was great !!! Margarita day and we ordered a Cadallic and it was very sour , so we ordered aguave ! No margarita glasses really?!!!!'

Kevin W.

Yelp
Bummer the food here wasn't as good as I hoped it would be. I think the standout is that everything I ate was SALTY. It's not great when the main outstanding memory of the tacos, scampi et al was that I was salted out and parched after every bite. The carnitas were especially salty, to the point even when a friend of mine tried the same thing (w/o any mention on my end) the first thing he said was, oh god this is pretty salty ... The garlic shrimp also had the same issue. Good flavor but ungodly amounts of salt that just absolutely overwhelmed the entire experience. I will give props to the guac which was unique and fairly tasty. This place is pretty pricey and frankly given how imbalanced the food is, especially in terms of the saltiness aspect I mentioned, I was surprised at how poorly the food matched the price. At least the servers were nice?

Marie D.

Yelp
Fresh, delicious, and always consistent (dining in, take-out or delivery). Great ambiance inside and lots of seating indoor/outdoor. Awesome happy hour spot with a nice selection of drinks and food. Everything on the menu is so good and this is a great way to get a taste for what they have. They have a parking lot available and metered street parking is an alternative. Service is also fantastic! Favorites: Carnitos nachos, Mexican kale salad, filet mignon tacos, camarones al ajillo, carne asada, flan

Aditi G.

Yelp
I think this was a high price point for average food. The guacamole was a good quantity and we also got the chicken enchiladas and the rib eye which was a special. Service was good and the ambiance of the restaurant was slightly upscale casual. The spicy cucumber margaritas were too sweet but the micheladas were spicy and delicious

Elizabeth D.

Yelp
This place constantly delivers. I eat here too often lol My favorite dishes Chicken Enchiladas Dos Gringas Tacos Flan Potato Tacos Tres Leches Cake Ribeye!!!!!!!!! 10/10 Drinks The hibiscus marg Whiskey sour

Heather H.

Yelp
The food and beverage were delicious, service not so great. If you're not in a rush I would recommend trying Mercado Hollywood.

Juan G.

Yelp
The food is good, the drinks are amazing, and the staff is friendly. Parking is a bit difficult

K K.

Yelp
I came here since my friends and I were in the area. The venue was very nicely decorated. Our bartender was very attentive, which was great. We had some drinks and something to eat. We had jamaica shrimp tacos, dos gringas, margaritas, beer, and chilled out for a few hours.

Karol U.

Yelp
You only need two tacos (because they are "muy generoso") ....their mushroom queso is ridiculous and their specialty margaritas are incredible. Come with friends...great place to dine, be seen, and see.

Claudia D.

Yelp
I've gone here 4 times already and I can't say enough about this place. Service is impeccable and the food is so tasty! The ambiance is awesome as well. This time around we had a really loud party by us which was annoying but after they left, it was excellent!

Jessica K.

Yelp
Absolutely yes. First off, the guacamole was so good, really fresh and just overall delicious. Had shrimp tacos and mahi mahi tacos and they were amazing. Did a Paloma ish drink which was great too. Vibe is cool, laid back, chill. Service was great. Would easily be back next time I am in LA, which is often!

Romani J.

Yelp
Best happy hour and service , highly recommended. Great menu vegetarian friendly. Best margaritas!

Alex J.

Yelp
A couple friends and I came by Friday night for dinner, around 6:30pm. The place was busy but nowhere near crowded, even by the time we left around 8:30, it was still decent so for a Friday night that was surprising. TL:DR - this place serves overpriced and overly complicated Mexican food. If it was fusion or actually unique, sure go ahead and charge the prices they charge. But the value to quality and quantity wasn't worth it. We started with chips and guacamole ($15). Guac was no big deal but the chips were perfection - hot and crispy, just salty enough. For main course I ordered the Carne Asada ($33) per the waiter's recommendation. Although it was good, again, way too fancy and overpriced. The single slab of meat was cooked well with a nice char and the meat was soft. The grilled corn however was far better and had really great flavor. A friend ordered the ceviche ($19) which was good but again, overpriced for the quantity and what it actually was, which is a basic ceviche. To drink I had the Mercado house margarita ($16) that tasted like any old margarita. Overall, 3 stars is more than fair but I wouldn't return or mention this place.

Lisa G.

Yelp
Met a friend here for dinner last week. I found free parking at the meters across the street and up a block. It was Cinco de Mayo so it was packed when we arrived at 6:45p, and thank goodness we had made a reservation. We only waited a few minutes before we were sat at our table. I had made a reservation (through Resy) for a High Top table, wanting to sit inside, and I loved where we ended up. Our table was inside towards the back of the restaurant, which is on a raised level with a colorful decor, so fun. Our waiter was awesome. Came at all the right moments and got us everything we needed. We started with their Dip Duo which is a portion of each of their two amazing dips - their guacamole and their creamy mushroom choriqueso - along with their Yxta salsa brava (so bright and tangy) and their fresh chips which where thick and crunchy and well salted. My friend had a margarita while I had their pineapple agua fresca, which was so lightly sweet and fruity, it makes me want to return and try their other agua frescas (I think the pineapple was a special that night). For entrees we both had the carne asada, and I must say it's the best carne asada I've ever had - the meat is savory, succulent, cooked perfectly (I had medium-well), and packed with flavorful spices. The grilled corn, onions, and guacamole were the perfect accompaniments, and the tortillas were amazing (you can choose corn or flour - I went with flour). I'm definitely returning soon. Such deliciousness in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

A N.

Yelp
Their pepino margaritas were really good. Only issue is the amount of ice to content of margaritas was insane. Their carnita plate was really good. Their rice was authentic. It is a very pricey restaurant, but I'm sure the cost to operate in that location is high.

Holland J.

Yelp
Great food, service and a clean ambiance! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for delicious food in a clean and aesthetically pleasing environment!

Rija K.

Yelp
Amazing tacos. Taste sooo fresh esp the lobster one. Ambiance is super low key and intimate (dark setting which I love). go for happy hour as the price points for quantity are well worth it. You can get two beef tacos only for $11. Only downside for an authentic Mexican restaurant is the fact that they had no house hot sauce so for those that like spicy food, they have no spicy sauces to offer. Their house made sauces aren't spicy at all so it was missing that spice factor. Service was good though!

Jo Jo W.

Yelp
Always delicious food, wonderful drinks and great service! We love coming here, always our go to for drinks & Mexican cuisine!

Neal S.

Yelp
The food was really good. They were out of lobster tacos so I ordered the carnitas. Cooked to perfection with tortillas ,guacamole and salsa. Ordered rice also but didn't receive it. Price was fair @32.00 for the dish minus the side of rice. Good find on Yelp

Gor A.

Yelp
Best Mexican food I have had! Drinks fire! Service very friendly Not an upscale place so ambiance was good

Alexcy A.

Yelp
Food is amazing and service is First Class .. would go everyday . Also the ambiance was great.
