Rome's Best Street Food Markets

"Inaugurated in 2016, Mercato Centrale at Termini Station has breathed new life into the station's spaces with a culinary offering that reflects the diversity and richness of Italian cuisine. It stands out for its wide range of food and its location featuring the historical Cappa Mazzoniana, making every visit an unforgettable experience." - The MICHELIN Guide

The 42 Best Restaurants in Rome

"Mercato Centrale is a real blockbuster: 18 artisanal food stands line the perimeter of the Cappa Mazzoniana, in Termini Train Station, a monumental hall with 100-foot vaulted ceilings. There are a lot of choices: pizza by the slice, burgers, trapizzini, and more. The crowd is busy and boisterous. Some patrons are killing time before catching a train; others are grabbing a bite before an evening out and about in Rome." - Maresa Manara

Mercato Centrale - Review - Rome - The Infatuation

"The train station probably isn’t the first place that comes to mind when you want a great meal, but if you walk to the farthest end of the Termini Station just past the rental car counters, you’ll find a vast marble-clad space that once served as the dining hall for railway workers. Grab a cappuccino and cornetto for breakfast before an early train, or a Sicilian ricotta-stuffed savory pie, a slice of pizza, or even some rich ramen for lunch or dinner. Once you have your food, sit down and order with a server if you want an on-tap craft beer, wine, or a cocktail. They’re open from 7:30am to 11:00pm (midnight on weekends), so it’s a nice flexible option if you’re just looking for an off-hours snack." - Gillian McGuire

A one-stop location with multiple food stalls. Caters to the carnivores and the vegans. From savoury to sweet and everything in between. Plenty of different types of drinks depending on what you're in the mood for. Price is average but considering it's location, I get it. Worth checking out. The meat counter is a must. Surprise of the day is the dark chocolate and gorgonzola gelato - shouldn't work but it does oddly (if you like blue cheese). As it's by a train station, expect a bit of chaos but it's part of the charm.

If you ever come to Roma and you end up close to the market you HAVE to come there !!! Sooo many choices to choose from, quick service and overall good food. Bonus points : when you sit down, waitresses will come to you to ask if you would like to drink anything and will then bring your drinks to your table directly ! The place is pretty big and there are a lot of tables available so it was really easy to sit down quickly. The meat was so good, it was our last night so we decided to splurge a little. I also really like the trapizzino - a Roman specialty !

Google
A must visit in Rome when at the Termini Train Station … the best fresh food with a wonderful atmosphere. Lots of different stalls offering Romes best as well as international food. I wanted eggs for breakfast which I could get here. Not sweet pastry all the time. Then stayed for lunch !

Google
Many stalls selling a variety of food, drinks and desserts. Our favourite was the pizza that was made fresh on the spot and we were treated to a little flambé performance on our pizza too. There were servers coming around to the tables to take and serve our drink orders too. Overall, the experience was simple, casual and nothing too over the top - just how we liked it. Bonus: clean washrooms that you can visit with a receipt purchase from the stalls.

After reading a lot of reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm so glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews because I couldn't find anything wrong. It's in the Roma Termini train station and has food that's popular all across Rome. It was next to our hotel so it was very convenient. I tried a Mortadella, Stacciatella, Pistachio sandwich and it was very good, a fried artichoke which was tasty, another sandwich that was stuffed full of meat, cheese, lettuce and some sort of spread and again delicious, Trapazinno, Suppli, pastries, desserts and drinks. They definitely did not hold back on the alcohol in their drinks. The service was great at every stall especially at the bar. The prices were excellent and you don't have to pay any extra charges you normally would have to pay at a restaurant. Just show your receipt to get into the washrooms if you need.

Google
Mercato Centrale (Rome) is a food lover’s paradise, offering an incredible variety of high-quality dishes from different food stations, all under one roof. The competition between vendors ensures top-tier flavors, making it a must-visit for anyone looking to explore the best of Italian (and international) cuisine. Highlights: ✔ Food is out of this world – From freshly made pasta to gourmet burgers, pizza, and seafood, every stall delivers top-notch flavors. ✔ Great variety – Whether you’re craving Roman classics, Asian bites, or artisan desserts, there’s something for everyone. ✔ Premium quality – Prices are on the higher side, but they reflect the outstanding ingredients and craftsmanship. Downsides: ❌ Finding a seat can be a struggle, especially during peak hours. ❌ Food from different stations arrives at different times, so if you’re dining with friends, be prepared for staggered meals. Despite these minor drawbacks, the atmosphere is lively, the food is exceptional, and it’s definitely worth a return visit! 9/10 – A must for foodies in Rome!

A lot of different choices, really tasty everything that we’ve tried (pizza, orient, steaks, desserts). Tables could be cleaner, but this is a food court, so not much expected

Having breakfast at Mercato Centrale in Rome is basically giving in to temptation from the moment you walk in. I went for a mix of classic Italian flavors that turned out just perfect. I started with a small tiramisu that was so creamy and light it felt like eating a cloud, dusted with cocoa powder. The layers of mascarpone, coffee-soaked biscuits, and cream were just right – a real treat. Then I couldn’t resist the filled croissants – flaky, buttery, with loads of pistachio, custard or chocolate inside. Every bite was pure joy. To balance the sweetness, I had a panino with prosciutto crudo and fresh burrata. The quality of the ham, the creaminess of the cheese, and the fresh bread made it simple but amazing. And the best part? For what you get, the price is actually really good. Totally worth it. All of it enjoyed in a cool, lively spot packed with locals and tourists soaking up the best of Italian food. Honestly, more than just a breakfast – it was a full-on food experience.

Yelp
Trapizino was good! I picked not a great flavor of anchovy and buratta. The texture was not my favorite. My husbands meatball was a bit better with the soft/crunchy dynamic. Overall the mercato was BUSY and what you would expect from a train station.

Yelp
In all honesty, I think this place is just ok but I felt weird about giving it three stars because one of the stalls we visited was actually great. We went to the Mercato Centrale in Bologna and had a lovely experience so I expected that same theme to continue, but I was wrong. Walking in, there was a lot of potential. There are a lot of stalls and endless things to choose from. We were only in Rome for two days, so I wanted to try some of the famous Roma items, like suppli and artichokes. The first place I went to had both roasted and steamed artichokes. I got one of each and appreciated that the person working warmed them up. The steamed was to die for delicious! She also convinced me to try a potato sandwich thing that wasn't warmed up. It was not good. It tasted like it would have been better warmed up. The second place I tried was the suppli place, which also serves other fried items. Again, I can see the potential but cold fried items are just gross. They should re warm them. Also, the service was bad here. I ordered in Italian and the person just stared at me, I actually wondered if I spoke English on accident. Then another person comes up and asks me to speak English please because the other person only speaks Italian. What? This same person was also more interested in flirting with the guy at the stall next door so there's that. The last place we tried was the "American" place (yes, my husband needed a hot chicken sandwich in Rome, even though I was avoiding all the Asian food because we can get that at home) and it was amazing. The food was good and the service was even better.

Yelp
CONVENIENT food market at Roma Termini. Lots of different options, so your family members/group members can choose whatever, from steak to Japanese foods! Prices vary greatly from 3.50 euros to over 20 euros. Some of the food counters offered samples, which I enjoyed. The crunchy fried chicken breasts (forgot the picture) were so tasty (13 euros including lettuce salad & roasted potatoes). We got 3 different spulli's (=crochettes), for 3.50 euros each, of which were delicious! My delicious medium rare sirloin salad (with salad & 2 pieces of bread) was 20 euros. The staff were pretty nice, service was pretty quick. This place is much nicer, cleaner, & less chaotic than the one in Florence.

Yelp
When we arrived at Roma Termini, we were looking for a place to eat with all our luggage and found out the Mercato Centrale was so close by. There were countless vendors to order food or coffee from. I ordered a cappuccino and a croissant. The croissant was amazing! And the cappuccino was delicious and strong, which I desperately needed. They had plenty of sandwiches, burgers, ramen and more. Great place to eat at for everyone in your group!

Yelp
Amazing food court at the termini with so many options a must go while waiting for your next destination from Rome! My best experience was at trapezzini which was on the bucket list for a while. Pizza meets sandwich and creates this delicious easily hand held delicacy full of meat and flavors. We tried the chicken cacciatore and a pork one, also tried suppli at a place which was huge but ok

Yelp
In general I love food halls like this one. But the quality of the food here was not the best. I think it may depend on the vendor. If I had to come again, I wouldn't go to the vendors that have food already prepared on display. I went to one of the stalls serving sandwiches and trays of pasta. I ordered the porchetta sandwich and the eggplant parmesan. As I said, it didn't taste fresh. It was similar to what you might buy from a grocery store deli (in the US) or a hospital cafeteria. Two other family members ordered from a different vendor and had the same unfortunate experience. Price-wise, it also doesn't seem that much cheaper than traditional restaurants in the area.

Yelp
This Italian pizza pocket was hands down one of my top 5 favorite foods in Rome. Went back for a second time, and would've gone for a third if we had the time! The focaccia was soft, the anchovies were salty, and the stracciatella was creamy- the perfect combo. The market was super fun- tons of great food options, cute ambiance, and people were super friendly! Absolute must try

Yelp

Yelp
One of the best spots in Firenze to grab great food and wine. Don't skip out on this spot during your visit.

Yelp
Pretty much we tried most of the food at food court in this few days. It's really tasty and delicious. It's our best food court experience in Italy ever. The foods has restaurants quality. We loved it. :)

Yelp
This is such a fun place to scope out all kinds of food! I am always a fan of a fancy food court. This place has all kinds of options, but my husband and I settled on sandwiches from the pizza place. Both were good, but the focaccia sandwich was delicious! They were a little pricey, but you can take them to go and get drinks cheaper elsewhere.

Yelp
We came here around 1-2pm after the lunch rush. There's a ton of food to check out so you'll probably come here more than once. The food was pretty good. The best thing I had there so far is the pizza cone. That was delicious. The gelato is also good. Some of the reviews say there's bonci pizza but I don't think it's there anymore. Just a pizza that looks like bonci. I didn't have it but it looks good as well.

Yelp
Mercato Centrale is a fantastic place to try many foods. We had previously eaten lunch at the one in Florence and made our way to this one in Rome. We tried some of the best dishes.

Yelp
This is my second visit to il Mercado Centrale Roma. I just love the Italian food hall vibe. There is a wine bar and delicious pasta, pizza, pasteries, salads, gelato, burgers, fresh juices, "street food", and more. Great employees; they accept credit cards; and you can eat-in or have take-away. I just wish there was more seating.
google avatar

Jessica Z.

Yelp
So many choices to choose from it's overwhelming, but whatever you choose will be delicious. this was on my to do list and highly recommended. The night we showed up there was live music. It was a great atmosphere.
google avatar

Yelp
Ok, first of all this food court set up at the train station is every carb lover's dream!! There are soo many options here, and not just strictly Italian food. I even saw there's ramen, and other Asian foods. Plus, there is a full bar where servers will walk around to check if you'd like to order any alcoholic beverages. How clever are they?? Anywho, I got the cacio de pepe--a simple pasta dish with very minimal ingredients but ohhh soo delicious! I also got a chance to watch the chef make it in front of me. Again, this is a food court so please don't expect fancy schmancy service but this is as good as it gets (especially for the price)! Grazie!

Yelp
Our go to place when in Florence. Lots of choices and good place to hang out. Can't wait to go again.

Christina O.

Yelp
Picked up lunch for our train ride. So many choices of food and drink. The market is outside of the train station closer to the busses. Food reasonably priced too.
google avatar

Tiffany D.

Yelp
Market Central is the equivalent translation of Mercato Centrale and it suits the meaning. This market has a grand variety of Italian specialties done well, such as fried asparagus (yum must get!), espresso, local Roman pasta - Cacio e Pepe, fresh pasta, grilled meat, pizzas, gelato, wine pours and etc.! Convenient spot for people who are getting on or off to the main terminal, so it suits the market name! The shops take credit cards. Communal seating with music playing and there's restaurants upstairs.

Yelp
Directly connected to the train station (Roma Termini), this is the quintessential food market experience for food lovers. We took a return train ride from Venice back to Rome, and were looking for an inexpensive place to quickly grab some food. The trap is set for unsuspecting travelers as soon as you hop off the train, because there are many chain-style restaurants directly in the train station. However, walk about five minutes through a weird/surreal clothing department store and you'll enter into a utopia of Italian Food! From the rice balls (suppli), to Paninis, to pastries, to actual Florentine steaks, to an incredible concoction called the Trapizzino, you have to pay this place a visit. There are three levels that have tables, so if the bottom level is filled, you can just walk up the stairs to level two or three. Level two has a quieter vibe to it with students who are working on their studies while snacking. Highly recommend this place, and the appeal is that you are able to order a multitude of items from different stalls and have several unique experiences all at once.

Yelp
Located in the Roma Termini station the Mercato features a collection of food stands offering a diverse selection of foods. After a day of walking through Rome we decided to try it out and pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. We ordered some of the alici frite (fried anchovies), some Cartoccio Pesce Fritto (fried cod) from Lluca Saladino's la cucina di mare; a slice of eggplant pizza and focaccia from Gabriele Bonci's il pane e i dolci and a cannoli from Carmelo Pannocchietti's le specialita Siciliane. Not only was the food delicious, the focaccia was the best we had ever had. There is bar seating and regular seating giving you a choice in a really busy environment.

Yelp
Your one stop shop for all your favorite Italian food and desserts (plus drinks)!!!!! Located conveniently inside Roma Termini (the main train station in Rome) along with tons of other services that one might need while travel here such as car rental, souvenir shops, etc... This wasn't our first choice for our first dinner in Italy. Fortunately, we both passed out for a good few hours after arriving in Rome, by the time we woke up, it was already early evening, tired, hungry, we didn't feel like looking to go anywhere far, plus, our bnb host recommended this place. Just less than 10minutes walk from where we were at, it wasn't a hard decision to make. I'm not too fond of "food court", but extremely glad we came here. Mercato Centrale is definitely food court on steroid with more than a dashing look, casual, loud (the final World Cup game was going on that night I believe), but intimate regardless. With so many choices to choose from, you'd want to do a full walk through to check out all they have to offer before making the decision of what to get. We had one of the most delicious pizza from here, which I can't remember the name of the shop, but it's located toward the end, across from the center bar. Everything is order to made fresh here, this include pizza and pasta. The desserts and pizza were delizioso! We ordered 2 different pasta, one was something with capers I believe. The other was pasta carbonara with shaved fresh black truffle. Neither one made a memorable impression on us. Except they were a bit pricey, around $20/ea, more or less. The black truffle one was kinda worth it tho. If you're staying nearby or have some time to spare at this train station, I highly recommend checking out this place. The food is usually done quickly. However, depends on the day and time, it might take a little time to find some empty table and chairs.

Yelp
Great place for pizza this is hands down the best pizza I've ever eaten. Must go and try it, you won't be disappointed great pizza for a great price anywhere in Rome ..!!

Yelp
We had one last dinner in Rome before heading to the airport and I'm so glad we spent it here! Being right next to the train station, it is incredibly convenient to get a good meal without going too far when you're on the go, especially with luggage. I got a plate of absolutely delicious orecchiette from la pasta fresca, a yummy and fun trapizzino from la trapizzino, and some gelato from il gelato. A little bit of everything here! Also loved the use of sustainable paper plates and utensils.

Yelp
Housing some of Rome's biggest names in Food, and only a half-hour from FCO by train, it is merely 60-minutes after landing that guests visiting The Eternal City can be eating Charcuterie, Cheese, Pizza and Pastries at Mercato Centrale Roma. Building on the success of a similar project in Florence, Mercato Centrale opened in October 2016, and occupying a former afterhours meeting place for railway workers the two-storied section of Stazione Termini Roma is nothing short of a dining destination from 08h00 until 23h59 daily. Found at via Giolitti 36, and easily accessible from any part of town by way of Metro or bus, it is immediately upon entry that Mercato Centrale's quality becomes evident, balls of fresh Mozzarella visible on one side while Baked Goods from Bochi occupy the left. Crowded but spacious, a variety of seating options ranging from counters to tables found adjacent various booths, guests in need of a drink merely need flag down a waitress, everything from Cocktails to DOP Wine available to compliment dishes ranging from Beppe Giovale's well-sourced Charcuterie to Ramen by Akira Yoshida. A source of fresh Produce to locals, but equally home to a Restaurant from Oliver Glowig, it is strongly recommended that first-timers take at least one lap before making decisions, though those looking to save time should consider starting out at "La Pizza" by Pier Daniele Seu as lines grow long for made-to-order Pies during peak times. With a Pizza from the man behind Seu Pizza Illuminati waiting to be stretched and fired, a walk across the dining area to Il Trapizzino should be the next step for many, the invention of Stefano Callegari essentially a hemisected slice of Focaccia stuffed till overflowing with classic Roman recipes such as tender Chicken Cacciatore or breaded Eggplant Parm. Returning to La Pizza after ten minutes, a pair of wood-fired ovens and staff of five working non-stop, suffice it to say that Seu's Amatriciana is nothing short of a steal at €10, the fluffy cornicione evidence of lengthy fermentation with good blistering while toppings of San Marzano Tomatoes, Black Pepper and Pork Cheek nicely replicate one of Rome's most well-known Pastas. Left to decide between sweet and savory to finish, and eventually deciding on the latter based on this day's agenda, fans of fried Food should not overlook Martino Bellincampi, the "explorer" of this ancient and universal cooking style using Peanut Oil to produce everything from Fish and Chips to creamy Cacio e Pepe Suppli and surprisingly elegant Pasta Fritta Amatriciana.

Yelp
This place is my jam when I'm in Rome . It can be busy , loud , crowded and chaotic but it's the place to be for good food, fast . Lots of Italian food options but also some American classics : hamburger , hotdog, fries , grilled meats . They offer everything from the most simple food like sandwiches and pizza to fancy truffle dishes. Most important , it's fast, convenient, good portion sizes , reasonably priced and there's no cover charge like you find in most Italian restaurants. There are also free toilets and they offer table service (servers to bring drinks and clean off table ). After your meal , try a dessert called Profiteroles at the food stand connected to the middle bar . It's in a dessert case with an array of other delectable sweets. It will rock your world! I had it three times during my most recent Rome stay. FYI, Mercato Centrale is open until midnight! It's attached to the Termini train station .

Yelp
My hostel told me about this place during my first night but I didn't realize it was actually a fancier food court. I thought it was some hole in the wall sketchy food hall at the train station initially so I skipped it and went to the worst tourist trap pizza place. Later, I dropped by right before my train to the airport on my last day since it's in the same station. I ordered pepper pasta from the pasta place, which was good but not fabulous. Likes - lots of options - "fast" food - takes credit cards - the pasta was cooked fresh but got cold fast Dislikes - crowded - average quality and taste - atleast my cacio e Overall: Worth checking out but not a must go place!

Yelp
**BEWARE IF YOU HAVE A U.S. WHITE CDC CARD** They no longer allow you to sit in and eat at the mercato centrale without a green pass. The US white cdc card is no longer sufficient here. Only option is to take away, which is a bummer since the food served there is a lot better fresh and right away. Sad update and disappointing. Really wanted to sit, enjoy food, enjoy a wine or beer, and people watch in this vibrant space. Kind of discriminatory towards foreigners even if fully vaccinated. The person checking for green passes in the front even called the manager of the place and he confirmed that they got new direction to enforce this.. whack.

Yelp
My eyes were bugging out as I walked thru this gastronomic beauty. Fresh pizza was being rolled to my left, fresh desserts were being dressed to me right, and I spied fresh seafood within the displays. My one regret was I didn't eat here sooner and my hotel was walking distance to this hub. I only ate here on my last day. Bummer. I would have ate here every single day. There is absolutely something for everyone here and the choices are endless! The waiters are attentive and super nice. I had the: Beef tripe smothered inside fresh bread (located on the right hand side all the way in the back) Fried whole artichoke Fresh carrot, orange, lemon juice Fresh ravioli with cheese filling Mandarin gelato I wish I had more compartments in my stomach to savor all the other dishes I was eyeing. This is definitely a happening place during dinner time.

Yelp
Il Ramen Vegans and vegetarians take heart. You have vegan ramen available at Il Rsmen! (Noodles are wheat - I asked) What you want is the Assari Shoyu A healthy cup filled with noodles, onion, a little book choy. Simple ingredients, great flavors - my favorite combo. I'd go for a little less salt - but that's me. You're not going to fill up on this, but not a bad thing with so many other tempting items all around. For me, great comfort food. Who doesn't love ramen. And if you do, while it won't be the best ever, it surely makes the cut. Also, not a bad deal at €9, considering you're at the Terminal.

Yelp
Probably one of the coolest places to go if you want to try a bunch of different foods. I don't know how many food places they had but it was a lot. They had stuff from dessert to dinner, gelato to international food. But with so many choices this place is also packed with people.
google avatar

Yelp
I totally missed an opportunity to really enjoy and taste all the wonders Mercato Centrale has. As I did only discovered the food court on my last day in beautiful Rome
google avatar

Yelp
This little mercato, though a little crowded, offers everything you need to get a good meal in before you head off to wherever you're going. From sandwiches to pizza, and even sushi. Although, I doubt you'd get sushi here. We tried a slice from Bonci, which does different flavors of square slices. Most slices are around 3 €.I had been craving potato pizza, so I got a slice of the beef and potato. The flavors were good, but the potato slices didn't adhere to the pizza very nicely. For the most part, I was happy with the value of the pizza and happy to find some square slices.

Yelp
This market gem was found by chance near the central train station , which in itself is a bit usual. It is a concept with multiple fresh restaurant counters, pizza, pasta, cheese, beer, wine, bakery, sushi, fresh fish and even more upstairs. Everything is fresh looking and not run down or dirty looking. Actually looks quite new. Came in a Tuesday evening and it was packed with locals. Hard to get a table. Everyone was very helpful and spoke English. Waiters also walk around and can take your drink orders. Excellent place to hang out and eat and drink. Metro station is underneath the train station.

Mirtha R.

Yelp
If you're a foodie; this is the place to come and eat your heart out. An array of different types of Italian food. Yummy

Yelp
Wide variety of food for those who want something other than Italian. Great beer and coffee too! Glad we found this hidden gem!

Yelp
Calling this an Italian food court. Is an understatement. It's a specialty market that does not disappoint. The food is awesome!!!! All kinds of beers and wines. Specialty meats, cheese and truffles, fish and Vegs etc. All the vendors-stores are independent and Specialize in the foods they offer. The baker, butchers and fish mongers and pasta!! The table service is drinks only. To many options to list. FYI the alcohol content is higher so you may not need more than one for a buzz. Very casual and fun atmosphere, long communal tables. FYI as is common in Rome, public restrooms means 1$ euro. And don't expect American toilets. As you may be expected to squat. Community service Mesage. Located Near the train Rome station. Two blocks. It's worth a visit. The pizza maybe the winner in my opinion as I think simpler is better in Rome. For me Pasta with olive oil is always a winner. Ordering an exotic sauce maybe not what you looking for. However the meats are offer options not found so easy in USA, sheep on skewer is a specialty, small chunks of lean and tasty meat. A mild flavor that is not beef. One thing is for sure eat Where the locals eat. And the prices are reasonable and the locals use the trains and eat here. Across the street and near by are luggage storage, be careful not so cheap...the city in general is geared to tourists, so use caution as with any big city. Don't leave things unattended. If paying with Credit cards you don't give the merchant the card. They bring the card reader to you.

Yelp
This was one of my favorite stops in Rome. I love a market type food court. There were so many amazing food options to choose from. My favorite was the little pizza counter. I watched them roll out my my pizza dough, top it with fresh ingredients and toss it in the oven. This was one of the BEST margarita pizzas I've ever had. I have no idea how they make the dough so perfectly. I was soft, chewy and slightly crispy. PERFECTION. I wish I could have eaten the whole thing. I have been dreaming of this pizza ever since I left. You can't beat the price at 8 euros. The also have an amazing wine bar. I ordered a glass of sweet white and enjoyed the ambiance. There are locals eating and watching the game on large screens. There is a lot going on but it's not loud. I also indulged in a cannoli. IT WAS A DREAM. So creamy. So delicious. I wanted to skip dinner and only eat cannoli's. They fill them fresh and the textures were on point. Take the time to stop in at this market. It's so worth it!

Cool place to eat. Tried two places: Bonci pizza: 4 stars, lots of flavor, good bite to the crust Make your own pasta: 3 stars. Kudos for the fresh pasta, but the "special" that I got was one ok. The sauce broke Would come back to try the other little places!!

Yelp
It is has some nice food vendors but nothing special. Very hard to find it in the train station. No visible signs or directions. Hidden all the way in the back. Had to ask multiple people to get on it. Plus super crowded and hard to find a seat. The one in Florence is much better. This one is meh.

Yelp
The nicest food court ever...everything from steak Florentine to sushi. It's a little bit of everything with a heavy focus on Italian specialties, given Mama isn't in back cooking it all the staff were super nice. Beer and wine were a bit spendy by local standards but everything we ate was 3.5 - 4.5 stars. A very good value, it's a bit hidden but keep going behind the Coin store and you got some good eats...went back the following night and had the rib eye Florentine and the sucker was cooked perfectly, must have been 30+ day dry aged well worth the 60+ Euros for a kilo plus with the chips two counters down you have a killer steak frites! 4.5 stars for the 2nd meal, mind you I come from foodie San Francisco.

Yelp
Right on Termini, if you are staying near the station, this is an easy choice. Something for everyone - not inexpensive, actually a little bit on the high side if you're willing to venture in the neighborhood, but otherwise solid. There is a good array of prosciutto and excellent bread, sushi if you want it, although it's unfortunate the sushi station is right across a live seafood stall, so you can smell the fish and might imagine it's the sushi. We ended up having burgers and the beef patty was so good - juicy on the inside and nicely charred on the outside, and it's a thick one. Lots of good beer and wine choices, you can get a bottle and take it back to your table.

Yelp
La Tyvola, il vino e la dispense is the restaurant I am reviewing and is located in the Mercato Centrale but doesn't have a separate page... I researched this place because Oliver Glowig was the chef here and ran a michelin star restaurant prior to it being closed. We were taking the train and this place is excellent if you are at the station early and want a great meal. The food was delicious and looked beautiful on the plate. The table and setting is also modern and comfortable. The food is likely a little more on the expensive side than the other food in the train station. The chef was sitting at the restaurant and I thought he might say hello, but I felt like he kind of snubbed his nose at the americans (us...). But thats okay. I am glad we came and we really had a great time.

Yelp
Great variety here as there are plenty of different station. Find the following separate stations: Pizza in the back of the place to the left corner with great diavola pizza (margherita with spicy sausage); closer to the left front area is where there is basically a rotisserie meat section where you can buy delicious lamb skewers; and you MUST HAVE THE trapizzino especially with beef tongue and green sauce (AMAZING)

Yelp
Cool place at the train station that's like a nice upscale indoor food court with many selections to choose from along with a couple bars. Had a group meeting with some expat entrepreneurs here on the third floor bar. We had a great session with drinks and not too many people around to bother us.

Yelp
The pizza here was incredible!!! It was the first thing my friend and I ate when we arrived in Italy and it was possibly the best. We had an amitriciana pizza.... Delish sauce....bacon.....some kinda grainy cheese.....it was incredible. We ate the whole thing. The ambience is cute and the food was generally reasonably priced. It's conveniently located in the train station. Definitely check this place out!

Yelp
I was in Rome for 8 hrs. I had googled and Yelped pasta places. I choose a small Italian place it was on my way to the Colosseum (12 min walk) What a disappointment to so the least. Luckily enough after walking to the Colosseum, I walked back to aroma Terminal to catch my bus to the airport. Boy what a surprise inside the bus terminal was il mercato CENTRALE ROMA. I had the most authentic pasta carbonara! I left Italy with eating the best pasta in the world (8£)and who would know it at the bus terminal!! Please beware of this establishment.

Yelp
Great market at Termini station. This is more reminiscent of modern food halls as opposed to the traditional markets in Europe but it's super convenient if you are taking a train or bus out of Termini. The food options are quite good and inexpensive.

Yelp
Coffee is delicious... but avoid to get help from this guy in the pictures... he is very rude, mean and grumpy. We had a very bad experience with him today.
