First time trying with my friend. I heard they change their flavors. They were selling last month ACL flavors in a pint and it was BOGO for 12 dollars! There was only one person working. There was a little wait but he was very friendly! Parking might be a little tricky cause there are other food trucks around but alot of people get their food and go too.

Greg of Merry Monarch is truly dedicated to his craft. The only ice cream place in Austin with such unique and exciting flavors- it is a good problem to have when you spend too long trying to decide what flavors to get. Good thing you can get two flavors with the split scoop ($7). Greg is continuously working on bringing new flavors to the game, which sometimes depends on the seasonality of the ingredients. Probably my favorite ice cream in Austin. The food truck is located in a food truck park, and has a shared parking lot with the other businesses. It can get crowded during busy times so you may have to find parking elsewhere. There is outdoor seating available in the food truck park.

Underwhelmed by the flavor choice. It was supposed to be mango-coconut-yuzu, and mango dominated the scoops. Also paid festival cost. Mostly leaving this review for myself so I won’t go back.

Highly recommend this place. They have a pretty interesting flavors. Not like your typical ice cream shop. Also like the sweetness of their ice cream is not as sweet as other ice cream shop around. Only wish they have ice cream shop like these around in other places as well. Will definitely come back here next time we visiting Austin again. Their Oreo miso flavor is very good, but unfortunately they only have pint available when we went.

Been here twice and always amazed at the quality of the ice cream. So unique, smooth, and flavors rotate! You can tell they use the highest quality of ingredients and give you giant… I mean GIANT Scoops of ice cream. Whenever I crave ice cream, I often think of this place and wish I lived closer. I legit drove 25min just to get ice cream here. It’s THAT GOOD! Thank you for the great customer service and the best ice cream in Austin! Also… the cookie is delicious too.

Merry Monarch is hands-down the best ice cream in Austin. Chef Greg’s always-changing flavors showcase the best ingredients. His (mainstay flavor) Oreo Miso is the most intense cookies ‘n’ cream ice cream you’ve ever had with an umami component you never knew you wanted. Persian Honeycomb, another regular flavor, is creamy and honey-sweet but still balanced. Seasonal flavors include pumpkin spice latte, morello cherry sorbet, and much more. Pints are rare, so follow his Instagram for a chance at select flavors every few weeks. Stop by this location, say hi, and try to follow along when Greg explains everything he put into a single ice cream… if you have time! He is truly passionate about his craft and you will appreciate it as well, and return often.

Me and my family showed up curious and were not disappointed! We ended up trying all the flavors and had a hard time deciding. I got half coffee and half blackberry lemonade, and the two went together so well. The idea of flavors being seasonal keeps things from being repetitive. The owner of the stand was extremely kind and humorous. Highly recommend this place, and can’t wait to find out what flavors come next!

Merry Monarch is the best ice cream in Austin. I’m usually pretty particular when it comes to flavors but the flavors are so creative and unique I keep coming back to try something new. Miso Oreo is my favorite but I have yet to try something I don’t love. Also the cookies are outstanding so pro tip, get a cookie, dip it in some ice cream and you’ll thank me!
