Mexican BBQ & cocktails fusion with unique twists on favorites

"Two-for-$20 margaritas are definitely vegan. And that alone is a valid reason to order takeout from this Mexican spot with locations in Chelsea, Nomad, and Midtown. But then you’d be missing out on all of the enchiladas, burrito bowls, and DIY taco kits on their vegetarian-friendly menu. With each of these entrees, you can choose proteins like BBQ beets and vegan picadillo." - nikko duren

"This fusion joint mixes Mexican cooking techniques with American barbecue, resulting in some unique twists on old favorites, like shrimp jambalaya enchiladas, or smoky carnitas. It’s a great spot for a quick lunch or dinner to-go, but we like it best for happy hour: Order some margaritas (or one of their excellent bourbon-based cocktails), Mexican corn, and the guacamole, which is served with watermelon radish chips. There are a few other locations around the city, but we're partial to the Times Square and Flatiron locations. "

"Having already been preparing a revamped in-house delivery program, the Mexican-American chain expanded its delivery radius, offered free margaritas to first-time orderers, reduced staff to roughly 25 percent of usual, and added a weekend brunch menu for takeout and delivery; the early results were encouraging—300 online orders in the first week of the new launch compared with just 19 orders the prior week—but co-founder Thomas Kelly notes this won’t fully solve losses since about 90 percent of normal sales come from dine-in traffic, though it may help offset losses and allow some rehiring." - Erika Adams
