The Best Restaurants and Bars in San Diego’s Gaslamp Neighborhood | Eater San Diego

"Meze stands out among the Greek restaurants in the city that are worth mentioning. With vast spaces for large events, it’s a great option for traditional Greek foods done with a California twist. Don’t miss the shrimp and ouzo saganaki (jumbo shrimp flambeed in ouzo tableside), souvlaki, and baklava cheesecake." - Helen I. Hwang

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely phenomenal experience! From the moment we walked into Meze Greek Fusion, everything was perfect. The food was absolutely excellent—flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. Every bite reminded us of the best of Mediterranean cuisine. The customer service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely seemed to care about ensuring we had a great experience. We never had to wait or ask twice for anything, and our server was both knowledgeable and warm. The ambience was perfect—chic yet cozy, vibrant and filled with energy, with just the right lighting and music to make for an unforgettable evening. And one more huge plus: everything was fast! From seating to food delivery, the whole experience was smooth and efficient without feeling rushed. Highly recommend for anyone visiting San Diego or looking for a standout dining experience!

Google
Always a great experience. The food is awesome. I’ve had a variety of menu items and love them all. Tonight I had the Meze burger. Oh my. Such a great combination of flavors. And do not miss the Baklava Cheesecake. It is out of this world. The staff are amazing too. So enthusiastic and genuinely welcoming. Finally, the prices are shockingly reasonable considering the quality (and quantity) of the food. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant.

Google
Been here multiple times, great food, great service, nice atmosphere. 4 stars for food only because my recent last visit i did not care for what I ordered all that much ( fries were absolutely on point, and great pickle... but the salmon burger was not great for me), have really enjoyed all other dishes I have had in the past.

I was in town for a conference, though alone. There is such great food in the Gaslamp district. This looked like a place I couldn't resist. I sat at the bar (because I was alone). There was excellent service. They have some very interesting cocktails. I had a lamb shank that was fairly amazing. Very nice atmosphere. Well worth a visit if you like Greek food at all.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at MEZE and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you try it. Our reservation was a group dinner with a show to catch #SHRM25. We had the option to sit indoors or out but we opted for outdoors to “people watch” and enjoy the vibe on the sidewalk. Our waitress “B” (Blairta) was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! “B” explained the menu in detail, offered suggestions and was extremely attentive to our table and others around. The food was crazy delicious, drinks (get an Old Fashioned!) were delicious and portions were awesome. Don’t leave without trying the Greek Coffee and Baklava Cheesecake!!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Was in town for a meeting and stopped by to try their stuffed salmon. Was very good. The berry drink with the mint WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!

Google
The food seemed under-seasoned. I was there with a party of five and we all agreed it was OK but not great. We had the Calamari and didn't finish it very quickly and the manager defensively came out and questioned if we liked it and offered to make it different or something and we assured him we were all just talking too much... but then the rest of the food came and we started to get the idea as to why he had acted that way as all the dishes were edible but not very flavorful/fresh. The cocktail menu was extensive and fun though.

Google
I came here on weekday with a walking tour at 6pm. I have to come back here for a full dinner meal! We had the Greek sangria and the Greek euro quesadilla. The food came out quick! This place has beautiful decor and the quesadilla was fantastic! It’s made with a pita break and lamb on the inside of regular chicken or beef. The sangria is a dry red with a hint of cinnamon. They also make a home made hot sauce that two people brought and I shipped one out to my sister I WILL BE BACK FOR REGULAR DINNER for sure!!

Yelp
Meze offers a taste of the Mediterranean with a trendy SoCal spin. Located in the vibrant Gaslamp District, it boasts a hip ambiance, with high tables, bar seating, and a mix of spaces to suit your mood. They also have dancers and flame eaters performing the night my friends and I visited. The menu is expansive, from Greek staples like hummus and falafel to gyros and more. I ordered the lamb shanks and it was much more than I originally anticipated, it was on the heavier side and if I could redo it, I'd share. The portions are very generous. On the plus side, the drinks are phenomenal! I had a Moscow Mule with bourbon that was delicious.

Yelp
Came here for a family birthday dinner on a Sunday evening. I will say, there were mixed reviews from our group of 8. Some people really liked the food, others said it was "just okay". Personally, I didn't think it was any better than any of the ordinary chain Mediterranean restaurants. The restaurant itself was very large, not very clean and very, very loud. They had club music blasting which didn't make for a great family meal. It was difficult to hear each other. The service was incredibly friendly, but unfortunately, equally slow. I ordered the falafel plate which was $25 and only included 5 pieces of falafel and a bunch of lettuce and tomato. No rice or any kind of side like the other plates came with. The falafel themselves were decent but I don't think the plate was worth $25. All in all, I wouldn't bother dealing with the parking and traffic of gas lamp for this place.

Yelp
Meze Greek Fusion was introduced to me by a few coworkers. We went to the restaurant around 11:30am on a Tuesday. The place had just opened, so it wasn't all that busy. It quickly picked up especially with its centralized location in the Gaslamp District. The restaurant seemed fun and inviting as we walked through, Customer service was totally fine. Wait staff was pleasant and friendly. Carlo was our main server, and he had such a vibrant personality. We ordered a couple of apps for the table including babaganoush, hummus, and an olive and feta plate. The babaganoush was great. The pita slices for dipping the sauces were very burnt on the edges. Whatever brine that the olives were in was too salty for my liking. They needed a rinse. I ordered the gyro plate for my entree, which was tasty and hefty. I appreciated that the plate was full to the brim and loaded with generous portions of the lamb and beef gyro, rice, and veggies.

Yelp
En route to Petco and stopped but this friendly and welcoming Med Greek inspired menu. Hummus- a generous portion of smooth and garlicy accompanied with pickled vegetables and perfectly grilled slices of pita. Falafel Meze- another shareable dish of crisp outside and tender inside ball of goodness served with a side salad, pita and tahini. Grilled Manouri & Beet- a nice surprise of grilled manouri cheese served a top of a large salad and assortment of picked vegetables and beets; another shareable dish. Moussaka- Has better but still an ok version, just a little heavy handed on the cream sauce and too much cinnamon/nutmeg for my taste. Great service and atmosphere so a definite return in the near future.

Yelp
Traveling to downtown San Diego and need a place to dine? This Greek fusion restaurant was perfect for our party of 6 to try something different than our hotel food. Food came out super fast and dinner portions are large enough to share with another person. Everything we ordered was cooked just as it should and service was excellent. Located in the heart of Glasslamp Quarter with plenty of other food options. You know how I love grilled Octopus!

Yelp
If you're looking for authentic and fresh Mediterranean fare the Meze Greek Fusion is the place for you. The atmosphere is inviting and friendly with an open environment. All dishes were wonderful but the Spanakopita was exceptional and bar none. Our server was equally great and friendly. If you're looking for a unique dining experience then Meze Greek should not be missed.

Yelp
Outstanding Greek cuisine and unbeatable service. We stopped here on a Saturday night for an early dinner - unfortunately coinciding with a Padres game, which made parking challenging. The hostess and staff were incredibly friendly and warm from the first interaction, and allowed us to pick our table (we sat at a high top). The restaurant is decorated in a tasteful homage to Greek culture, including little details like spinning drachmas over the bar. I'd highly recommend the saganaki, prepared tableside with appropriate flair. We also split the combo souvlaki which gave us a taste of much of the menu. Everything on that plate was delicious, perfectly sauced and seasoned, but our favorites were the sausage, lamb, and rice pilaf. The meal is on the pricier side, definitely an occasion, but it's worth every penny.

Yelp
Wow. So good. Great happy hour and great menu! The service was very good and our server gave us some suggestions since it was our first time. The quality and flavors used are delicious! Loved the open air and soft lighing. We will def be back next time we are in San Diego.

Yelp
Lamb Chops, Falafel Plate, Fries We loved this meal! Great interior and outdoor seating space. Friendly servers. Food took a little long to come out, but it was delicious. Lamb Chops cooked to perfection. Phenomenal fries. And they have their own house specialty hot sauce that was delicous!

Yelp
This was close by the convention center where we were for a conference. We stopped in for lunch and met a friend. Plenty of seating and fast service. I had the watermelon salad, N had the chicken souvlaki, and A had the falafel plate. Huge portions for lunch, we alll had leftovers which unfortunately went to waste. My salad was refreshing. The dressing was on the heavy side but luckily I had just poured a little of it. I do wish they had chopped the feta and watermelon into smaller cubes - they were not bite size which would've worked better. I think it was missing a flavor - maybe add some mint or lemon to brighten it. Otherwise nice. The boys enjoyed their plates.

Yelp
A nice lighter option compared to some of the other restaurants in downtown. Food was good, tzatziki, greek salad and falafel were our favorites. Wish the texture on the gyro was more on the crispy side, but the flavor was there. Inside is spacious and has a nice modern ambiance. We chose to sit on the patio to people watch while we ate. Much appreciative of the prompt service and attentiveness of the staff. Would definitely make a trip back!

Yelp
Greek Mediterranean fusion right next to Petco Park. A restaurant with a bit of a club vibe - huge spinning Greek Drachmae (or shields ?) over a long bar overlooks the Lower deck dining area. Our server Jenny was fast and efficient, and the place was clean, including the bathrooms, but then again it was a Wednesday night and a tad slow. We started with the Pikilia platter which came with (in order of deliciousness) tzatziki, hummus, spicy feta, tomato basil hummus, cilantro jalapeño hummus, and baba ganoush (which I didn't care for because it was a tad watery). The dish also came with olives and was a tour de force, about 1/2 delicious and the rest ok. Next came the Shrimp saganaki. I am torn here because I LOVE a good tableside fire, and boy did they deliver. I fear though, that the flame was too much (although very entertaining) as the resulting dish had shrimp that was a tad past cooked well, and there was a significant amount of burnt garlic or onion that make the dish unpleasant. Still thinking about that bonfire though. We then had the star of the night - the octopus. If you eat here don't miss this dish. The flavors work so well together, the picked beet, the leek, and of course the tentacle! Finally the mains. The chicken and the filet were both ok and tasted delicious when a dressed in a pita with fixings and hot sauce. The lamb though... ... out of this world, so tender and flavorful. All in all, prices are fair and service amazing!

Yelp
Stopped in for a drink and they have a great selection of wines to choose from, including a number from Greece. Their cocktails are on the pricier side, as is expected in Gaslamp, and have fun names. Saw a number of people ordering the flaming appetizer and it was quite a fun table side preparation. Lots of space, good for groups, dates, families...

Yelp
I stopped by this place for lunch, as I was attending a conference at the downtown convention center. The place has very cool vibe - as it is more of a fusion-oriented place than just a straight-up Greek restaurant. The service was very professional and efficient and they recommended the Avgolemono Soup as well as a Saganaki Shrimp Platter dish which were both very good. The prices were pretty reasonable, and I would definitely come back to this place to try some of their other interesting looking dishes.

Yelp
I've been here twice now and both times the food and drinks were out of this world. They are doing it RIGHT with their menu. Everything is top notch perfection. The staff are also great. Everyone is really friendly, attentive, and eager to be of service.

Yelp
Absolutely loved the food, decor and vibes of this restaurant. It's in a busy location but was able to snag a walk in table on a busy Saturday evening. The decor is beautiful, the space is huge with lots of spread out seating and it feels like a party with the music. For food, we went with a vegetarian tapas style spread and selected the Lemon potatoes, fiery Mac and cheese, spanakopita and Greek tacos - all delicious! Overall highly enjoyed the meal here and recommend!

Yelp
We just ordered food togo all of the gentlemen at the front were so sweet!!! The place has a fun vibe and full bar with tables upstairs, downstairs and outside. The food was so fresh with aldente rice and veggies just as it should be. Snd the chicken had an amazing grilled sear on it! The gyro meat was so flavorful and let me tell you they do not skimp on the portions!!! The salad was crisp and fresh with a perfect balance of onions, cucumber, tomatoes, olives and feta! The spicy vinegar sauce was absolutely delicious! I need the recipe and tzatziki was creamy and mint to perfection to balance the heat from the special spicy sauce! We will be back!!!! Thank you guys for accommodating our particular togo order and supplying all the yummy sauces and utensils

Yelp
Just picked up a takeout order for $27 gyro plate. Pitas were burned and no tzatziki sauce. Disappointing especially for the price.

Yelp
I found this place while searching restaurants in the area for dinner for a large group and some vegetarians. Reservations were easy to make on OpenTable as well. We were seated in the upper level over looking the lower part of the restaurant. Great view and the fun lighting made for a different type of restaurant experience. Our server was a really nice lady that was very attentive. We ordered a bunch of food (too much food) for the table and shared most of it family style. I do wish we got the flaming cheese and honestly felt like we were the only table there that didn't get it. They would light the cheese on fire, yell OPA and then put the flame out. Makes for fun videos too. The food arrived and holy cow now only were they big portions, but everything looked so pretty. I loved everything we got! The tzatziki I could have drank, it tasted so good. The chicken in the combo souvlaki plate was so tendered and marinated in some delicious sauce and spices. One of the best parts for sure. We were there on a Friday night and the restaurant was medium busy I would say. The service was great though. We were checked in on by the server, two runners and what looked like the manager throughout our meal. The around 7pm the music got louder and a belly dancer with butterfly like winged dress came out and was dancing around tables. Then at some point she switched to fire dancing. Great entertainment! This place was so much fun and loved all of the food.

Yelp
4.5 stars. My bf and I loved Meze for a hearty, delicious, but not too greasy dinner. We enjoyed everything - from the service, food, ambiance. Everything was on point. We got there around 6:30 pm and were quickly seated. We had a choice of sparkling mineral water and regular water. The mineral water was so smooth - better than Topo Chico imo. We were then given a small appetizer on the house - of cucumber with a creamy yogurt filling and fish roe. So refreshing. We ordered the Pilikia appetizer - you can pick 4 of any of the appetizers listed above it. We decided on the two flavored hummus (cilantro jalapeño and tomato basil), tzatziki, and baba ganoush. All were so flavorful yet light. We also got the calamari, lemon potatoes, and keftedes. We LOVED the keftedes - so flavorful and juicy. The calamari was perfectly seasoned and crispy. The lemon potatoes were so decadent. The bite to them was so satisfying. Would love to come here again next time I'm in town! Price was reasonable also. Knocking half a star only because our table was a bit wobbly. There were a few times I thought I was going to knock the table over. I saw the wobbly table thing happen to the party next to me also. But other than that, everything was wonderful!

Yelp
This place was popping all the time and it is way bigger than it appears from the outside! It is club like and has an industrial modern with a touch of Asian feel even though it is greek lol Our waitress was great in terms of personality and fun I will definitely forgive the slowness of service because during comic con all places are slammed so I understand and get it The food was pretty good and good portions! I enjoyed it very much and we all were stuffed that we all needed boxes to take food back lol So much so I placed an order of cheesecake to take with me but unfortunately they forgot about it after we paid so we waited and waited and no one in sight to ask until someone did walk by and they were confused why were standing around Almost felt after we paid the service went away literally but maybe it was just coincidence Either way I got helped and enjoyed my cheesecake in the hotel
google avatar

Estele K.

Yelp
I had a high expectation for this place but the food was very average compared to its rating. The burger was season-less and tasteless, also a bit dry. The Gyro plate was very subtle as in not greasy but at the same time not that good of a Greek dish. I think the restaurant wants to make it healthy but I don't think it works really well with Greek dishes as people expect something different. The cocktails were both too strong and not too great, but the service was good, very friendly staff. Ambiance is a night club setting. Good for hangouts and drinks but won't recommend for cocktails or food.

Yelp
This place was suggested to us by our hotel and it was delicious! We had great service and great food. What more can you ask for while eating out? I had family in town and they asked for Greek food. They were raving about it. We loved the hummus, filet mignon, seafood and chicken skewers. I'm taking one star off for our seafood plate. It wasn't seasoned that well but it was still not bad, I would order again without the octopus. Overall a 4.5.

Yelp
I really enjoyed having dinner here. We sat on the second floor and there was a fire dancer who came around to all of the tables and gave a wonderful performance. Our waiter was very accommodating and thoughtful. The menu features a good number of vegetarian items. I actually thought the non-meat items were the star of this place. The babaganoush had a silky smooth texture, just perfect, and their jalapeño guacamole is quite good if you don't mind a bit of heat. We got their combo meat platter, but the chicken and the steak were quite charred. The gyro meat was my favorite of the proteins if I had to recommend an item. I didn't try it, but others in my group said the falafel came out cold and our waiter ended up canceling their order.

Yelp
I visited Meze Greek Fusion in the Gaslamp Quarter. We were lucky there was a table as this place was packed on a Friday night. We started with cilantro jalapeño hummus served with pita bread. This was the tastiest hummus ever. There was just the right amount of kick a few seconds after it entered my mouth. So unique and yummy! My drink arrived, named Bye Felicia. This cocktail was also a unique combination, which included Bacardi mango chile, agave, fresh lime and tajin. Yes, it had a kick, but it was also smooth. For my main course, I ordered the appetizer lamb chops. Another jackpot item. The lamb was fresh, tender and cooked and seasoned to perfection! I absolutely recommend this dish! I ordered a side of potatoes lemonato. They were good, but my least favorite. Entertainment was a beautiful belly dancer. She even danced with fire. She walked all around the restaurant so everyone could see. We all had an awesome evening of great food and excellent service! I now understand why this is my niece and her husband's favorite spot!

Yelp
We were headed to a concert at Petco Stadium and wanted to have dinner. We lucked out and ended up having a delicious dinner of kibbedit, octopus, Greek tacos, lamb chops, shrimp, gyros and a fun dessert of Greek donuts topped with yogurt, fresh blueberries and strawberries, drizzled with honey! The food was nicely seasoned and our server Julia was attentive and a real delight! We sat at a comfortable table on the patio with heating lamp and were able enjoy a great conversation with our meal. Will look forward to coming back when we return to San Diego.

Yelp
This was my second time dining here and I must say it is fantastic. I love the lamb choices on the menu and got lamb chops for and appetizers and lamb shank for my main. My friend had the humus and pasta. The flavors are amazing, the portion sizes are just right and I highly recommend that you pay this spot a visit.
google avatar

Leang E.

Yelp
I do appreciate a good Mediterranean restaurant and this spot was great. We got to sit out in the patio and soak in a little sun. We got the Greek Salad, Chicken Souvlaki, Octopus, Lamb chops, and Keftedes. I thought the proteins might be on the more overcooked side but the flavors were fresh and really tasty. Service was good and prices were reasonable.

Yelp
This is a 4.5 star review, but we can't officially give half stars on Yelp... Mexe looses half a star because the restaurant is too dark inside. The ambience is weird inside. It feels like you are not in sunny San Diego, California. The food is excellent, and gets 5 stars. The gyro plate is delicious, portion is large, you can share if you order an appetizer as well. The gyro meat is perfectly cooked, the pita bread tastes great and the veggies are cooked to perfection! The baba ghanoush is fantastic. You can order it with pita or with veggies, both delicious. Service was great, they were busy for lunch, but Effie was always attentive and came to check on use often. Great food! Highly recommend this place for the food.
google avatar

Jodie G.

Yelp
The food and service was good, But it was super expensive. I feel like I didn't get anything special for the price that I paid and I could've gone somewhere else and paid half the price for the same quality and amount of food.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch and the food is absolutely delicious. We had a verity of dishes and shared them all. So very good !
google avatar

Yelp
Great ambiance. Nice servers. The food was ok....expected more due to Yelp reviews. We started with the tzatziki and the octopus app. Tzatziki was good, yogurt, cucumber, garlic, dill and warm pitas. Cucumber was not chunky or shredded, very fine almost absent. Octopus I would skip, chewy and over sauced with paprika. The Greek salad was good. Combo Souvlaki was dry. Menu was confusing. Looked all over for cocktails and then after we ordered wine we saw the cocktails were on the food part right in the middle which seems like a strange place. It's very dark in the upper dining area...which could be a good thing. When we got our bill they added extra 3% for using our credit card...no one mentioned this nor did we see it anywhere on menu but who would look for such a thing? Please have your servers tell your customers this before they order as a courtesy.....or adjust your menu prices to reflect this, it's just rude.

Yelp
Great lunch spot with healthy food and great flavor. Their sangria is amazing and the service is always super attentive and awesome.

Yelp
Delicious! Wow the inside of this restaurant is really pretty. The design elements are very nice. Service was perfect, we were asked a number of times how we were doing. Our waitress took the time to explain the menu and how it works, my strawberry gin cocktail I had was fabulous! We also had the Gyro plate, the cilantro hummus, the lemon potatos, lemon orzo soup. All was really good. I liked the thickness of the orzo soup But I think it needed less acidity. Everything was very good though! I will For sure be back

Yelp
Meze Greek Fusion is located on 6th Avenue in downtown San Diego, serving brunch in the morning and lunch and dinner throughout the day. We decided to come here and have brunch and a couple of drinks after the San Diego Half Marathon, and we're completely satisfied with the service and food. Brunch here is served at 11 am, and they offer a variety of Mediterranean dishes. The restaurant is huge with high beautiful ceilings and it is very modern and trendy. We went ahead and sat at the bar where they offered a full service bar with beers on tap. My personal favorite beer is the Harland Japanese lager, where it is very light, clean, and refreshing. They had a special on it that day, and I found myself drinking more and more it was just so good. I went ahead and ordered the breakfast pizza because it sounded good, and I was completely blown away when I actually tasted it. The fresh mushrooms were very sweet while the bright green spinach added a nice touch to the ones gooey baked mozzarella cheese on the pita like bread. The star of the show was the freshly scrambled fresh eggs. They yoke was cooked but in a creamy yolk way. They had a nice spicy hot sauce condiment on the table to spruce up your dish as well that was very flavorful and tasty! Overall, it was an awesome brunch with great good and great drinks. The bartender was extremely friendly and made us all feel welcomed. He was very proud of the establishment, and you could tell he had a lot of pride in his work and the food that was being served. I will definitely come back here again and try some other options and, of course, get the Harland Japanese lager on tap. Thanks, Meze, for a great dining and unforgettable experience.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food and great ambience restaurant! The saganaki (flambéed cheese) appetizer is authentic and reminds me of our trip to Greece

Yelp
Walking in the place is super cute and dark in a good way. We sat upstairs as requested and I loved the table overlooking the dining below. Our waitress was also the bartender she was super rad and knowledgeable. Loved the mezcal cocktail. Tried all the dips, there were some misses and some pleasant surprises! Babaganoush was a total miss but the firey feta totally made up for it. Traditional hummus was nice but the cilantro jalapeño and the tomato basil was lost on me. Tzatziki is delightful here. The octopus was the surprise star! So delicious and worked well with evening in the place. Just slightly more tender and I would have rendered it perfect! The shrimp and feta dish totally fell flat. Not sure if the other helpful server poured too much liquor on it before lighting it into a bon fire for 3 minutes but the shrimp ended up over cooked and the garlic was burnt and bitter and ruined the dish. Grilled meats were last and I preferred the steak the most. All the meats were inconsistently cooked so some bites were medium rare and some well done. Good bites were good and bad bites were bad. Service was top notch and maybe even a little too attentive but the kindness and overall flavors would bring me back.

Yelp
Tonight, I went to Mezè for a cocktail and a fun time. I was extremely happy to be server by VALERIE! She was light hearted, funny and made excellent drinks. The manager, Patrick, bought us a round-I was grateful. He was good looking and nice. This place is a hidden gem! Come Here!!!!!

Yelp
I will give this restaurant three stars because we were able to reserve a table on a Sunday evening and get in promptly at 6:15. That was about the only bright spot for the evening. First, we order drinks and appetizers. Appetizers were calamari and grape leaves. Still no drinks. Calamari was a bit over fried and tough. Grape leaves were alright. We order dinner. Right before dinner we finally get our drink order. I got the dinner that had octopus. The octopus was really tough and rubbery. The waiter was busy but did not come back and check on his with any frequency. We ran out of water several times. For the price, this place should have better service and food. Atmosphere of the restaurant is nice. It's probably good I am only a visitor to the area because I don't know that I would come back.

Yelp
Our server Niko went above and beyond. Truly made our night. Appreciative of his care and service. Food and ambiance was nice, but Niko was definitely the best part!

Yelp
This place went all out on their decor. It has a cool Greek/Modern American vibe going on, the staff is very friendly but the food they offered... I don't know how representative this dish is regarding the restaurant but there was no flavor. It was just a greasy carbohydrate with some salt and the tiniest hint of spice. If they put in as much effort into the food offerings as they did in their decorations, this place would be a definite go-to destination.

Yelp
We sat outside and shared plates. The food was very authentic and delicious. We had grilled octopus, lamb chops, hummus, falafel and Greek salad. The service was friendly, patient and timely.

Yelp
I've came here countless times and every time has been a pleasant experience.. I haven't tried anything on the menu that I haven't liked! The new siracha and honey hummus is seriously mouthwatering. I'm glad we ordered that instead of the tomato basil hummus which is also delicious. I really enjoyed my watermelon salad, and my companions loved their lamb chops, which are probably one of the most popular dishes here. Always lovely dining here, I'll definitely be returning!

Yelp
The service was excellent our sever Jenny was very attentive. My husband ordered a beer when we sat down and not even a minute later Jenny was already serving it. The food was delicious and very authentic. By far the best customer service not only our waitress but the whole staff.

Yelp
We were in San Diego for a business trip. We sat on the patio to enjoy the beautiful afternoon. The server was attentive but didn't hover. The food was delicious and fresh.

Yelp
So, apparently, when Trevor B. writes, "We would like to speak with you further and do what we can to make things right," he is clearly doing this as a PR stunt and is not genuinely concerned about making things right. I did reach out to him - after dealing with a death in the family and a car accident - and provided him a list of twenty or so Greek restaurants in San Diego and not A SINGLE ONE charges their customers to use credit cards. Further, I called a few of the restaurants that are in the vicinity of Meze and they also did not charge their customers to use a credit card. If there is one thing I can't stand, it's disingenuousness. Wikipedia defines 'meze' as: "a selection of small dishes served as appetizers in Albanian cuisine, Armenian, Levantine, Turkish, Greek, Iraqi, Egyptian, Balkan, Caucasian and Persian cuisine." The only small thing about this place is their thinking.
