Mezza Grille

Wow, this is a hidden gem in the uptown area! Mezza has been here for over two decades and one bite of their mango chicken explains why. Their food is both daring yet comforting, and the quality ingredients cannot be missed. The staff is extremely friendly, especially the chef of this family owned business. You will absolutely love having a meal at Mezza, this is a family restaurant that needs more attention than it gets!

Second visit here. The location is just a few minutes from The Galleria in a strip mall. It is mainly Mediterranean but has some American options as well. It doesn’t look like much at all from outside. The inside is nicer and they do have some outside seating in the front. I ordered the mango stuffed chicken which I ordered on my last visit and couldn’t stop thinking about it. I never order chicken when eating out but this dish is worth it. It does take 25 minutes to prepare and they tell you that so order right away. They do bring you some crispy chips seasoned with Za’atar which is very tasty. The main entree is the stuffed chicken breaded in panko and filled with cheese, peppers, and seasoning then a mango butter sauce on top. The chicken is juicy and the mango gives it a touch of sweetness. It’s a good portion and extremely good. It comes with scalloped potatoes and roasted veggies. The potatoes are creamy and well cooked. The vegetables this time were barely grilled and were almost like eating them raw. I wasn’t a big fan of it. The rest of the dish is wonderful. Service was good and not overwhelming. I hear there are many other great dishes here but the Mango stuffed chicken is a destination dish when in the area.

I went to Mezza Grille with some friends because of Keith Lee and it was really good. It wasn't busy at all. The drinks were strong, they have 50% off drinks from 4-6 pm every day. I really liked the prickly pear martini. The crab cakes were fresh, hot, and lemony. The lamb shank was really tender but on the salty side. My friends like their food ad well - the chicken tortilla soup, the mango stuffed chicken, and the salad with steak. Overall I'd definitely reccommend and if I was ever in the area during 4-6, I'd definitely hit them up for happy hour.

Found Mezzanine Grille and saw it is locally owned. The menu looked very unique. The stuffed Mango chicken with scalloped potatoes and grilled vegetables was not only beautifully presented it tasted amazing. Crispy texture on the outside with cheese and stuffing in the inside topped with a mango sauce. Perfect combination of savory and sweet. I had the mezza salad which was uniquely flavored and perfectly balanced with the exact amount of dressing. We also had the fried calamari that was very good served with red sauce. Sister was telling me about some other dishes and I told him I don’t think I could come back and NOT have the stuffed mango chicken. One of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Ray was our server and he did a fantastic job. I’ll be coming back here every time I come to Houston. I would highly recommend the mango stuffed chicken. For the record, I typically order beef or fish when I go out. The mango chicken was so enticing that I had to order that. And it didn’t disappoint. Next time I may have room for dessert.

5 stars is not enough. Everything about my experience was perfect. The food was incredible every dish was like a flavor explosion. Now that we got the food out of the way let's talk about service. Because let's face it, customer service in today's world is awful. Well rest assured because at Mezza Grille, Our table was lucky enough to have a gentleman named Alex as our server. He was the best server I have had in a very long time. Between Alex and the amazing food, Mezza is a must stop for anyone in Houston area. Thanks Alex and thanks Mezza for an amazing 1st experience at your restaurant.

Overall, pretty good place. The chocolate pistachio ice cream brownie is superb. Hummus can be improved and the pita bread is just there. The saffron rice is super yummy, grilled vegetables is great, not overburned like other places. Price is reasonable since the portion is pretty good.

Absolutely on my top 5 places to eat in Houston. The food here is unbelievably phenomenal and matches the top tier customer service they provide. Naja was amazing and made sure I was well taken care of. The delicious food came out very swift and cooked to perfection. I enjoyed each bite and will definitely bring my family back with me in the near future.

We stopped by this spot around 2:30pm and found it surprisingly empty, but I didn't mind much. The space itself is lovely and well-kept. The customer service was just okay--nothing particularly memorable, but it might have been an isolated experience. The food, however, was incredible! Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. We decided to visit after seeing Keith Lee's recommendation, and it completely lived up to the hype. We ordered the hummus with pita, mango stuffed chicken, chicken tortilla soup, and chicken shawarma wrap. Every single dish was flavorful and well-prepared. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Houston! Tip: If you're planning to try the mango stuffed chicken, be sure to allow 30 minutes for it to be prepared--it's worth the wait!

With so many new places in Houston, it's easy to forget about solid old places. I haven't been to Mezza in probably over 10 years and it's been updated since. Nice open space, good sized bar, delicious food with good portions. Only the shrimp in the campechana was a touch overcooked. All the other meats were super tender including the calamari. Lamb rice and falafel made for a tasty lunch the next day. Note they will charge for their hot sauce. Parking is a large shared lot, but many of the spaces are designated or valet from other businesses.

We first went here around 2000 when we lived around the corner. It was a regular place for a few years until we moved abroad. Then again 2007-2009 it was a mainstay u til we moved abroad again. Now we are back in houston again and not so close but it's a treat. Large great starters, taboulli salad, grilled eggplant , hummus , salads, and tasty mains, some of which are displayed. On a sat night they are crowded and a bit overwhelmed, but they never rush and with the portions you don't rush from starters to main. Friendly owners and wait staff, food is kind of a mix of Mediterranean and new fusion American whatever that means.

Got a roast lamb atop seasoned rice plate and it was quite complex and delicious. Full of flavors, the meat was aromatic and super tender. The dish was topped with almonds, golden raisins, and walnuts for a delightful sweet and savory crunch to the dish. I will 100% come back for this dish.

My tastebuds had a party from the beginning to the end! I started with the Seafood Campechana as the appetizer; and it comes with Tortilla chips. I say appetizer, but this dish is huge. I taste every ounce of flavor! It was like a party in my mouth with the combination of lime, jalapeno, pineapple, and small chunks of avocado, and to top it off, the shrimp and crab had their own flavors and spices fused together! Did you all see how big the shrimp were? After the appetizer, I knew I couldn't go wrong with the Pecan-Crusted Salmon, which has a nice favorable crust. Also, the sides are a mushroom risotto with grilled vegetables, making for a great dish with many flavors. For the second dish, my niece went for the Mango Stuffed Chicken, and of course, we shared our plates with each other. It had a very nice crust covering the outside, and it came with a mango buttery sauce to pour on top or inside; we did both. I don't know how they got all the stuffing inside, but I will be getting that next time. We also added two servings of fish tacos, and I must say they were good, too. But let's brag about the service; my nephew is seven, and he's very picky. He eats only eggs and pepperoni pizza! Well, that didn't have either! So the waiter and Chef made a pizza just for him with cheese and grilled shrimp on the side. One more thing: I'm surprised this place isn't charging more for their dishes. They put so much love into each dish, and the service is exceptional.

First time having this establishments food a couple of weeks ago.... THE MANGO STUFFED CHICKEN, SALAD, Lemon Chicken were AMAZING!!! I've been thinking about it since, and I can't wait to try more.

Mango stuffed chicken is absolutely delicious. The sweetness, with crispy skin coated with mango is genius. Most flavored grilled veggies I have ever had! We listened to Leo and his suggestions - he nailed it! He was detailed and excellent.

My daughter learned about this place from Keith Lee on TikTok and demanded we go. She got the stuffed mango chicken and said it was one of the best things she has tasted it was also a very good portion. I enjoyed the kabob and my son chose the lamb. He said most places can't get lamb right and they did an excellent job except he would have liked the portion to be bigger as it was one very small chop. The service was nice and speedy. The place was very fancy and relaxing We sat outside.

Love the food in this place! Service is great too. It was President's Day which might explain the availability of seats because they should be packed every day for lunch.

This is easily my favorite Houston restaurant. The food is always delicious regardless of what you order. The shrimp campechana is my favorite but the whole menu is delicious. The service is also amazing. Pay them a visit!!!

The food was delicious, I've had falafels before but not as good as this place. Loved their falafel salad. Their service was very welcoming and friendly as well. And their ambiance is perfect for a date night.

Love this place, food is always tasty, fresh and well seasoned! Staff is extremely friendly and they have even accomodated me several times by making my favorite pasta dish that is no longer on the menu. I brought my family here for a bday dinner and everyone was extremely pleased and they still rave about the food! It's not fine dining, but the food, service and drinks are top notch! The Mango chicken is so so good, but my absolute favorite is the spicy shrimp and Italian sausage pasta that's no longer on the menu, I also love their Caesar salad, the dressing is so good! Please consider putting the past back on the menu, or atwast keep the ingredients to make it in stock!! I also love the coconut lavender margarita and the chocolate cake!

Amazing restaurant! Mezza has updated the interior and it looks great! Our waiter was super friendly and helpful with suggestions. I had the lemon butter chicken and it was Fantastic!! The presentation is beautiful! So many levels of flavors for each dish of chicken, grilled veggies and scalloped potatoes (divine!)!! A very large serving at a great price! A ton of free parking in the shopping center. I would highly recommend Mezza!!

Great service and food. Found this location from a Keith Lee post, it fits not disappoint.

Inside is very plain and uninviting. Outdoor patio was nice. Music was loud and in general not good. Need Mediterranean music. Friendly and helpful server. Lots of variety on the menu. Meat with good flavor, moist and not overcooked. Fresh veggies. Good flavor in the sauce. Some things feel overpriced though. I would return. :)

Customer service and food was terrible it actually put my wife in the hospital food department need to check their so called chicken we only visited cause Keith Lee recommended it

Beef shawarma wrap was very tasty. However, it would be helpful if the beef were sliced, not chopped in small pieces. It was difficult to keep the sandwich together without the beef spilling out.

Just ate a Mezza Grill. Food was delicious- falafel plate and mixed grill!! The complimentary chips and oil dip is also wonderful. Service was impeccable! It never seems crowded- I don't know why!! They also have Italian, Mexican, and American items on the menu. It is all around good.

My review is based on my Ubereats/delivery experience. It was recommended to me by my Persian co-workers to try this place out while visiting Houston. I ordered their Beef Kabob and Cornish hen with fries, and I added two orders of Fried Eggplant and Basmati Rice. I love my fried eggplant, which reminds me of home. The kabob was juicy and delicious, and they also gave me some flat bread. If only I knew it comes with it, I should have ordered a babaganoush with it. I love rice, and I when I eat basmatic rice, I enjoy it with butter and not on a little dry side. My Ubereats/delivery experience was amazing, and I enjoyed my food from Mezza.

We've been coming here for almost a decade now. Stephanie has always been hospitable and the rest of the staff are friendly and accommodating. Shay has been making my favorite drink, sort of like a spicy margarita - be careful, cause you can barely taste the alcohol until it hits after the first few sips. My favorite is the Shish Tawook, hands down. The chicken is marinated with their special sauce so it's never dry even after being grilled, full of flavor and juicy! My other favorite is the Sesame Chicken Salad, the dressing and everything else in it is so refreshing, it's a good-size portion but guaranteed you'll finish in one sitting cause it's good!

How on God's green earth did I not know about this place?! My goodness! This mango stuffed chicken is absolutely delicious! I don't usually get chicken dishes when I go out to eat, I'm like give me some seafood and steak...but this one was calling to me. WORTH IT!!! Those scalloped potatoes...so damn good I had to place a to go order of them! The grilled veggies were perfectly seasoned and the perfect texture. Can't wait to try other food on the menu. I was definitely torn when choosing what to eat. I WILL be back!

Had a delightful dinner here last night with my dad. Everything was delicious- Mezza salad, Beef Shish Kebab and Schwarma Wrap. The service was also excellent! Highly recommend!

Was surprised that the large dining room had only a few patrons. The waiter was very accommodating and ordered drinks and the eggplant dip whose description stated it included walnuts. Had been to many middle eastern restaurants but never saw this preparation and it was actually an unexpected good-twist on a typical dish. The pecan crusted salmon salad and the lamb shank were substantial dishes and the flavors were excellent. Another surprise was the lamb shank was stewed in a mediterranean broth which was presented on a deep dish with its very tasty broth.

My wife and I couldn't decide what kind of food we wanted - one of those days when you're hungry but don't want the same old same old - and found Mezza Grill on Yelp. What a great dinner, one of the best we've had in awhile. We ordered lemon butter chicken, which was just amazing. Fresh and light with just enough lemon and a small amount of tomatoes to make a super pleasant combo. The dish included fresh grilled veggies and scalloped potatoes (I wish I could make them as good at home!). The waitstaff was very nice, we could hardly take a sip of iced tea before our glasses were refilled. A very nice meal in a clean and comfortable place. We will be back soon.

Came here for HRW and I was impressed by their menu. It's located in the Galleria area. Very spacious plaza with plenty of parking. Services were friendly and quick. Their HRW menu was about four courses with really great portion. It was definitely worth it, we had to-go the food. Portion was quite big but delish. They had an abundant of choices if you like pasta. Would recommend the creme brûlée for desserts. Overall, a great restaurant for lunch/dinner outing in the area.

I hadn't been to Mezza Grille in a while and I won't be a stranger any longer! The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The bartender was sweet and made sure my cocktails were perfect. The grilled chicken fettuccine was PERFECT. The chicken was seasoned and the sauce was nice and thick. They have outside patio for your convenience and the inside is beautiful. If you haven't been, give them a try. Overall 9/10 for ME

I was having a really bad night, crying and alone, and I needed a place to sit. I asked if I could buy something small with Apple pay --because I wanted to sit outside on one of their chairs and felt bad doing that without buying something but only had my phone on me. The bartender asked what I wanted and I told him just a water and he gave me a bottled water for free and told me not to worry about it. No matter how messed up the world feels sometimes, there will always be kind people out there, and it turns out one of them works at this restaurant. Thank you so much to that guy. Made a horrible night much more bearable.

Tried Mezza Grille with my husband and kids. The food was pretty good. I had the tenderloin pasta, a nice kick of slickness but not to overwhelming. My son had the burger which he enjoyed very much. My husband had the tacos and wrap and he enjoyed the tacos more. Not pictured a cucumber martini that was very refreshing! Will return!

Out of all the restaurants to go to in Houston, Mezza Grille is the one I always recommend. We've been coming here for years and their food is consistently delicious and their menu is extensive with something for everyone. The staff is extremely friendly and professional. They have a full bar and amazing desserts. Try it once and be prepared to be a regular. You, your family, friends and business associates will by no means ever be disappointed.

I've been here years ago (2016) but I must not have sent in a review back then. Well, I remembered this place and ordering the Curry chicken pasta so I wanted to come back and get that same dish again because it was super delicious the first time I had it! I came here for my birthday with some friends of mine. My friends had gotten there first and had ordered their drinks when I got there. A waiter took some time to come by our table when I came in but when someone did come around, I finally got a chance to ask for a menu and take a look at some drinks and appetizers. We ordered 2 appetizers, a hummus and their fafalal platter. I also got a cocktail to try but wasn't a big fan just because I'm not a big drinker myself. The appetizers came out and then the waiter asked if we'd like to order our main dishes while we snacked on our appetizers. I ordered the chicken curry pasta. It was just as good as the first time I had it. I really enjoyed the food. I did wish that they would do something nice for birthdays but unfortunately they didn't even though we mentioned it. Service I would say is average, We didn't have a waiter come by to check on us nor did they come back to re-fill our drinks after bringing our appetizers. I still would come back though because the place has definitely been renovated since the first time in 2016 that I went. It looks more modern on the inside and its very casual and nice. Great for small or large groups and family dinner too!

I came here for Houston Restaurant Week after having it bookmarked for years and was not disappointed. The table comes with complimentary pita chips with zaatar and I ordered the mezza salad, lamb shank, and coconut tres leches off the HRW menu ($39) which was such a steal considering the lamb is regularly priced at $21. The meal was so good and I really enjoyed the leftovers the next day (huge portions). The salad was fresh, light and refreshing, the lamb fell off the bone and had a flavorful broth that tasted great with the rice and roasted veggies, and the coconut tres leches was not overly sweet and just the right amount of moist/wet with the milk. The waiter was very patient with us and told us all the drink/cocktail favorites. I will definitely be coming back here on a normal night for dinner! It's rare you see almost 5 star reviews for a place on both Yelp and Google Reviews and they were very deserving of the high praises.

Good service and pretty good food. The bruschetta was probably my favorite. I love that the bread was garlic. But I wish there was more bread to the amount of tomatoes they had served The fried chicken sandwich was fine. Nothing special. The sauce was pretty good. The seafood bisque was pretty good! The waitstaff had mentioned however they ran out of crab meat

How am I just finding out about Mezza Grille when they've been around since 2005? How sway??? It's a spacious restaurant with a nice bar and outdoor seating. Free parking in the front of the restaurant. Listen, this seafood pasta gave me LIFE!!! It was so creamy and full of flavor! The noodles were cooked perfectly. Everything came out fresh and made to order! Our experience was immaculate from start to finish. They definitely will be seeing me again!

The food was excellent! My salad lasted me 2 days and was still fresh the next day. We did not dine in but would like to next time.

This was our first time here. We came to celebrate a family member's birthday. We were happy with our experience. The waiter was on point. I ordered the Mezza Salad which was amazing! My entre was the Mango Stuffed Chicken. It was so tasty! My desert was Tres Leches cake. Oh my, we'll definitely return!

My fiancé and I just discovered this place through Yelp and we are in love. The staff are friendly and attentive and the food here is AMAZING! We came here on a Saturday night around 8:30 pm with no reservations and were seated right away. We had the calamari as the app, and my fiancé had the lemon butter chicken and I had the chicken parm and we both really enjoyed our food. My fiancé said his lemon butter chicken was juicy and cooked perfectly. The portion sizes are huge so we ended up having leftovers to take home. Sadly we were way too full to try the dessert menu. Prices are very reasonable. I can't wait wait to come back and try more things on the menu.

I was looking for a good Mediterranean spot and did some research on social media. This place cooks meat to perfection. I ordered chicken, lamb, and fish. The spicy fish sandwich is incredible. As well as the lamb shank being super tender. I also ordered calamari which was flavorful the coating made it extra crispy. The fries were cooked perfectly. The kebab/shank comes with rice the lamb was falling off the bone, I did not prefer the rice, because I do believe there's maybe nutmeg/cinnamon in it but that's all personal preference. and would recommend if you don't mind that. The only thing that I would not order again would be the bread pudding. It had a very milky/dairy aftertaste and I didn't taste the white chocolate or vanilla. But for entrées, appetizers, soup and salad main courses this is a great spot and I will definitely be coming back to try new items!

Be sure to try the lamb, mixed grill and dip trio. Each dish was a full of favor and cooked to perfection. The staff and owners are a delight.

Whew So I ordered online for pickup and will say I was quite impressed at the organization and customer service. I received text updates and all. This was my first time visiting and I ordered the spicy chicken wrap. Now now .... when they say spicy it's spicy (that's probably the one problem I should've ordered a drink). However, the wrap was packed with and abundance of flavors on the inside and the spice definitely opened my immune system. I would definitely go back and try more items off of the menu

Came for weeknight dinner. Not too busy so easy to get a table if you don't have a reservation. The pita chips and zaatar are so tasty. I got the chicken shawarma wrap spicy and it was pretty good! Actually a good amount of spice and very filling. Fries are ok, a good amount of food. Only complaint is that food took awhile to come out, but it was all fresh tasting. Menu has a lot of options.

Got caught in the galleria area on 7/20/23 and was looking for a place to escape the traffic and grab a bite to eat. I remembered that it had been a little while since I dined at Mezza Grille. I sat at the bar and the bartender (can't recall his name) made a couple of recs before I finally decided on my entree. When you dine here, you'll understand how difficult it is to make a choice because everything sounds good on the menu! I settled on the Shish Tawook, and it was great! My entree was very light and extremely flavorful. The bartender provided excellent customer service and I will definitely return to try out more of their menu!

I just recently found out about Mezza Grille and living in the area idk How I've never been before !!! Everything I have ordered has been absolutely delicious. The Chicken shawarma wrap was top tier , the spinach artichoke dip also very delectable. I've also ordered the Mango stuffed chicken dish just WOW!! My spouse had the mixed grille platter lemon butter chicken was superb. And I topped my meals with a good Old Fashioned drink done just right! I wish u would of took more pictures. Lastly the service was A1. but trust me don't walk, RUN!!!!
