"Much like its restaurant, Mi Cocina catering specializes in traditional, elevated, incredibly tasty Tex Mex food. Thankfully, whether you go for passed appetizers or a complete sit-down dinner, it can (and should) be accompanied by the killer margaritas."

Came on a Monday afternoon, immediately ordered a Mambo Taxi! I used to have them all the time when I first moved years ago but it’s been a while. This location was super clean and the perfect retreat from The summer heat. Service could’ve been better initially, we sat unattended for about 10 minutes but the server made up for it after the fact. I ordered the lunch special fajitas (half chicken half steak) it was delicious but the steak was BUSSIN! It was so good, we ordered some to go for later. lol the guacamole was blah - no flavor. Love the house salsa they bring out with chips. Also wish the chips were less dense, they were pretty hard and thick. And my fajitas didn’t come out sizzling, but it was hot, which was weird. But I would def return. Highly recommend the steak fajitas and mambo taxi!

Visiting Downtown Dallas TX , we decided to stop at Mi Cocina (without reservation). We were seated right away, and before we were completely seated, Jorge brought Chips. Salsa and water to our table. He welcomed us and introduced himself as our waiter Jorge was very attentive, professional, and knowledgeable without being in our faces. We complemented and thank him for his services and also spoken with his manager, letting him know how awesome Jor ge is. The food was delicious, and the portions were very generous. The restaurant is very busy, but our food was delivered without much waiting time. It's definitely a place to return to.

I’m sad to say I had a disappointing experience here. My friend recommended I stop here since I’m in Dallas for a quick work trip. I tried to get sat by the hostess, and was straight up ignored for multiple minutes until I was acknowledged. I get being busy, but they didn’t even say, “we’ll be with you in a few”. It was odd. I asked for a table for 1 and would sit anywhere. She said there was a 45 min wait so I asked about sitting in the bar area. She said that is fine. I found a table in the bar area. Beautiful location by the way. Absolutely perfect! Love the location, the decor, the vibe. All of that is spot on! I saw online a review for a shrimp dish I wanted to try but didn’t see it on the tiny menu they gave me. I asked them about it and they said it’s a reduced menu in the bar area, which I would’ve like to know before I decided to sit there. So that was unfortunate. I ordered a skinny margarita, which was decent. I saw the bartender make it and it was about 3/4 full with ice in it. Then she overflowed it with more ice to try to make it look more full. They did serve me chips and salsa, which is always one of my favorite parts of going out to a Mexican restaurant. Unfortunately the salsa and the chips both didn’t taste homemade, rather store bought and not fresh. This was very disappointing. I ordered the queso blanco and was excited to try the chorizo in it. She brought it to me and said that they were out of chorizo so they just put beef in it. I couldn’t believe that she wouldn’t ask before doing that bc I wouldn’t have ordered it. I wanted to try the chorizo. I thought that was odd as well. I ordered the taco and enchilada combo. The taco was really good and the salad with it was so tasty. Unfortunately I could tell that this dish was sitting under the warmer for a while due to how the cheese looked. The enchilada was mediocre and not hot. I ordered the Mambo taxi drink based on what my friend recommended. I did like this drink! Yum! Sadly, I wasn’t checked on for the last 35 min of my time at the bar. I was trying to get one of the bartenders to look my way to request my check. It was really unbelievable for such a beautiful establishment that I experienced such poor service. UPDATE: the owner responded below asking me to contact them via email, which I did. It’s now been 2 weeks that have gone by without a response.

Sat on the covered patio with the wife and 7 month old. Great area to grab a bite/drink and walk around after. Plenty of indoor and patio seating. Chips and salsa are always on point. Ordered a jalapeño salsa margarita which is a frozen marg with actual salsa mixed in. Would not recommend as the mixture of the salsa was not great, but their regular frozen and mambo taxis (frozen swirled with sangria) are fantastic. Went with an order of 12 chicken nachos, was pleasantly surprised with the portion, would say it’s easily enough for 2 people. Server was friendly and relatively quick. Not going to wow you with anything here but it’s solid Tex-Mex.

My party had an amazing experience at this location. I was greeted at the door and immediately taken to the table. I immediately noticed how beautiful and clean the restaurant was. The waiter Gio gave great suggestions on drinks and meals. The service manager, Carlos, gave amazing suggestions for food and even gave a history of the restaurant. I ordered the El Patron for my drink, which was amazing. My second drink was the double barrel margarita. Stronger than the first but amazing taste. Let’s get to the food. The Shrimp Brochette was phenomenal. Excellent taste with wonderful flavor. The brisket flautas were amazing also. I love quesadillas and the quesadillas here were phenomenal and super fresh. Everyone at the restaurant was friendly and the service was phenomenal. I am looking forward to coming back here to try more items on the menu.

Amazing food. We visited for dinner on a Sunday evening. It was busy but we were seated right away. We were a party of 3. Our servers and staff were friendly and sometimes entertaining. I ordered the crunchy enchiladas verdes and swapped my refried beans for charro beans. I also ordered a strawberry agua Fresca (alcohol) from the brunch menu. Everything was absolutely delicious. The rice was soooo tasty and honestly, the rice is how I decide if I will like a Mexican restaurant. The rice was **chefs kiss**. The enchiladas blew me away. They were crunchy, which was new to me for an enchilada and I converted on the spot. We will be adding this restaurant to our regular rotation.

The main draw of this place seems to be the location. It's right next to a park, and has both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a fast service counter outside. My family chose to eat inside, since it was 100 degrees on the day we visited. The food itself was somewhat disappointing for the price ($15-$20 entrees). The chips tasted like they were store bought rather than made in-house. The rest of my meal (chicken fajitas with rice) was decent but nothing to write home about. I was hoping the Mexican food in Texas would be at least as good, if not better, than the Mexican food in my hometown. Alas, it fell short. Although it's possible that I just ordered the wrong thing. My mother had the chicken enchiladas and said they were great. PS: good luck finding parking if you don't want to use their valet. On the plus side, the valet is only $5 if you're dining with them, so probably worth it.

Yelp
Who doesn't like Mexican food with strong drinks? Came here a little while ago when the weather was warmer. Atmosphere/Ambiance - 5/5 - Located at Klyde Warren, there are food trucks as well as a large play area for the kiddos. Staff - 5/5 - Friendly and helpful. They made sure our drinks stayed full. Food/Drink - Ordered the following: Mambo Taxi - 5/5 - This is a must if you drink alcohol. Mambo Limousine - 4.5/5 - This seems to just turn the margarita red. I would stick with the original personally. Jalapeno-Agave Margarita - 5/5 - Nice little kick to it. Beef Fajitas - 4/5 - Wish the portion was a little bit bigger, but overall, great flavor. MiCo Burrito - 5/5 - Large burrito filled with Beef. Pretty filling. Overall, I haven't had an issue with any of the Mi Cocinas that I have been to, and this one was just as great. I will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Ordered delivery. Frozen margarita was missing Taco dinner was supposed to be one chicken taco in a soft flower tortilla and the other one beef in a hard shell corn tortilla. Both were chicken chunks. And the corn tortillas were stale. Uber Eats would only refund the missing margarita. Never again in person or delivery.

Yelp
I was in Dallas for a Company Holiday Party and the hotel had a shuttle. Based on the recommendation of hotel staff and the shuttle driver, I wanted to give Mi Cocina a try. Very nice restaurant based on decor and location / view. Seemed to be a very popular restaurant as most tables were occupied and takeout orders were continuous the entire time I was at the restaurant. The food was quite good and the portion size was very fair for price paid. Outdoor bar area was also filled with people when I arrived. Definitely a popular spot to beak bread with others!

Yelp
Mi Cocina's location is unbeatable! Situated right on Klyde Warren Park in downtown Dallas, it's the perfect spot. We lucked out with gorgeous weather and arrived just before lunch. We ordered a few appetizers to share and enjoyed some fantastic margaritas. Perfect experience!

Yelp
I mean, if you love the heat in Texas, there's no better place to go during the summer lol. The entire restaurant is floor-to-ceiling windows so you're basically in a glass box. My husband and I were thinking that this design concept might not be ideal for weather here? I don't know but we felt like we were basically in a hot box. I feel bad for the staff who had to get a box fan on them. I am now inspired to purchase a portable fan lol. Service was nice. The 2 behind the bar were very attentive. Hubby ordered the Rico salad but got the Ricardo instead (small difference but still not what he ordered) and I had the nachos. I asked for them extra crispy but alas, they were not. I was told that the cooks usually just didn't understand what that meant. Wine selection is fair but I mainly go for their mambo taxis. They aren't as strong as they used to be so if you want that same kick from drinking just one, you now have to order top shelf. Everyone is going cheap these days. It's a thing. We're dealing with it. My take on this is, if you're going to cut back...don't cut back on what you're known for. All-in-all, while we love Mi Cocina, it's not likely we will return to this location. Great food! Just way too uncomfortable with the heat.

Yelp
Stopped in here on the way to a Yelp elite event. Hadn't had dinner yet and this place was next door so decided to grab a quick bite with my Yelp sis! We ordered the nachos half beef and half chicken. Nachos had beans, meat, and cheese. Came with sour cream and quac for dipping and jalapeños. Simple but they were pretty good. I liked the beef more than the chicken but the chicken was also flavorful and good, I'm just more of a beef girl when it comes to nachos. I usually don't eat beans on my nachos but these were really good with the beans. Wish it would've had some pico though! It was pretty busy inside the restaurant on a weekday around 6. They don't have happy hour though but the nachos were really good for a first try. I seen plenty menu options that caught my eye so I'll be back to try some more options out.

Yelp
I recently visited Mi Cocina and was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. I ordered the Skinny Smash, which was absolutely amazing--refreshing, perfectly balanced, and not too sweet or tart. It was, quite literally, smashing! For our meal, we opted for the 50/50 fajita dish, featuring half chicken and half beef. The fajitas were flavorful and cooked to perfection. In addition to the food being fantastic, the service, both the hostess and waitress, was equally impressive. The ambiance at Mi Cocina is vibrant and inviting, with a rich, upscale feeling. The restaurant is situated within a beautiful view-in front of Klyde Warren Park, and the clientele reflected that. Despite this, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making for an enjoyable dining experience. Initially, I was hesitant about trying Mi Cocina because I've had mixed experiences with restaurants that offer ethnic cuisines but end up being super unauthentic. I know Mi Cocina is Tex Mex, but it still delivered a delightful Tex Mex taste that exceeded my expectations. Overall, Mi Cocina offers a wonderful dining experience with delicious food, excellent service, and a lively, upscale ambiance. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
The ambiance is lovely here. C It's clean and pretty with comfy seating. The service is great and the food and beverage is spot on. The corn chips taste like they made them today with fresh corn. The dish I tried, Chicken Enchiladas, were light and flavorful. And the Frozen Limo Margarita is the best! If you're in town and you like Mexican food, this is the spot!

Yelp
Location On Klyde Warren Park in downtown Dallas. Parking Look for nearby lot-we walked from a lot. Atmosphere Family friendly Mexican restaurant. Seating Inside tables and booths, outside with view of park. Lots of room for groups! Service Outstanding-endless chips and salsa! Menu So many choices! We had the chicken and steak fajitas-large portion served with guacamole, pico de gallo, and tortillas-green peppers, onions, and potato slices( surprise). The salas was huge with generous chunks of avocado, sliced cherry tomatoes, shredded cheese. So fresh!! The first bowl of chips was not as good as the second as a number of chips were clumped together. However the chips were light with strong corn taste-love it! Salsa was tasty-medium heat. This is the best guac I've had in Dallas! The queso was delicious. The bacon wrapped shrimp demands special mention-comes in side, appetizer, and main dish. Appetizer comes with huge shrimp covered with fantastic melted cheese and surrounded by bacon. This was the highlight of the meal. Summary Local parkside Mexican restaurant with fantastic service, amazing menu and food, super location! The challenge will be what to choose! Get the shrimp!

Yelp
Love this place recommend it five stars. We didn't even have to wait for our food. It's like a normal wait time. The place looked really nice and so clean.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Sat at the bar - single. Had the veggie fajitas - delish.
google avatar

Sylvania S.

Yelp
Manager refused to accommodate my vegan baby girl. His excuse was that the Chef premade the Potato Taco filling for a certain amount of serving per plate. So she was only subjected to eating their dry beans & rice.

Yelp
Had a great experience at this restaurant while in Dallas for work. My server Jospeh was great. He offered many suggestions on the menu and also recommend various drinks. The food was great and the service was awesome. I appreciate the upbeat attitude and vibe in the restaurant. I would definitely come back here next time I am in Dallas. I had the Pablano Chicken Enchilada's and the Mambo Taxi Margarita. Great food, reasonably priced and coupled with exceptional service from Joseph made this a 5 star experience.

Yelp
It's a Huge nooooo!!!!! I believe that mi cocina did a good job advertising/marketing the mambo taxi (which in my opinion is too sweet nowadays ) but anyways, i had to returned the food because it had a fly. The food is inedible. Service was horrible... will not go back

Yelp
There was a very long wait. But the food was delicious and the service was excellent.

Yelp
Overall, this restaurant was very good. All of the food tasted fresh and was not very greasy. The menu had a variety to choose from, and the tacos were flavorful, and they gave a decent amount of meat in each of the tacos. All of the drinks were delicious and paired well with the Tex-Mex cuisine. We had a great time eating here.
google avatar

Sheilicha S.

Yelp
We tried to sit in there patio areas but unfortunately there was a significant amount of people already seated and the wait time was pretty long 20-30 minutes. The outside hostess or greeter were pleasant and had their makeup on. They looked very clean and eager to be hospitable and friendly. Thanks for the outdoor patio seating recommendations for La Parada's.
google avatar

Rebecca H.

Yelp
I love this place. The menu has just the right amount of variety. The drinks are fun and the service is great. I don't live in the area, but I've visited. Each time that I came, I had dinner at this restaurant! The atmosphere is classy, casual and relaxing. The lights are dim, etc. Now let's get to the important part, the food! The guacamole and pico were some of the small details that couldn't be overlooked. It was so fresh and flavorful it really added that extra pow you needed to your order. The brisket quesadilla was great and so were the fajitas. The shrimp were a good size and perfectly cooked! I've also had the brisket tacos which are SO good. If you go for margaritas, then get the Mambo Taxi!
google avatar

Yelp
The food was great! Joseph was an amazing waiter. The drinks were well made. After the sun went down, the lights were so nice through the windows. Perfect night

Yelp
I took a direct flight into Dallas Love Field and beelined to Mi Cocina for a business meeting. I literally had my luggage in hand, and one of the hostesses offered to store it at the reception area with her. Appreciated the hospitality right off the bat! I found my party in the lovely indoor dining area. No complaints about the service. I had my coworkers place an order for me while I was en route, so my entree came out 5 minutes after I sat down. In general, I felt that the wait staff was friendly and attentive as well. I had a few bites of the table guac and queso with chips. Pretty Basic. I ordered the brisket quesadilla for my lunch, and I thought it was standard for Tex-Mex. The ingredients were fresh and the brisket was tender, but the dish could use more seasoning and spice. Where I got any flavor was from the cayenne sprinkled over the sour cream.
google avatar

Trinn G.

Yelp
Great restaurant in Klyde Warren park. Set outside be aware ton of flies. Service was great and a vibe outside to relax with your date. Food was amazing. The shrimp buchetta was the best I've had ever. The tortilla soup had a nice balance of savory and creamy from the avocado. Added the chips from my chips and salsa to give that extra crunch. Would come back for more. Please go visit.

Yelp
Fantastic service, food and vibes. Vales were cool, just remember to keep your receipt for the discount. Beautiful park to walk afterwards.

Yelp
I reached out to the email address and never heard back. Still left disappointed after being encouraged to reach out to discuss our visit and their extremely rude service.

Flordia H.

Yelp
The service is ridiculous and I was wait for water refill about 15 mins and food is amazing and come out fast like normal Mexican restaurant and I get it is busy but when it comes to someone who wants the bill and I have been sit here for about 5-10 mins for a bill and I'm not even get this bull crap I paid for and ambience is great and the music is great and the weather sit outside is great!

Yelp
I dined at Mi Cocina while visiting Dallas for a week and was slightly underwhelmed by the experience. We had a reservation for 8pm on Friday and were seated immediately upon arrival; the restaurant was hustling and bustling. The restaurant ambiance was modern and energetic. I ordered the chicken tacos and was disappointed with the chewy, dry, and tasteless chicken. The tortillas also appeared to be stale. I am not a picky eater by any means but was let down. Alternatively, others at the table seemed to have liked their dishes, so maybe it was isolated to my entree. The service was okay. Our server was cranking through our table as it seemed she had a lot of tables under her. Parking is a bit difficult for this location as there is no dedicated lot for it. Overall, I thought the dining experience was okay but would be open to giving it another try.
google avatar

Chris K.

Yelp
Walking up there's a beautiful ambience and great park views. When you walk inside you are greeted by warm host/hostess who get you seated and in non peak times accommodate seating requests. A quick sit and salsa and chips before we were even settled. A visit to the restrooms which were clean but do lack changing table for the parents in the crowd. Coming out there's about 6 waiters chillin on their phones and we thought...... uh oh. Well apparently ours was not one of them! Jessica P went over the moon helping with my picky diabetic dietary requests and food for the baby etc. super wonderful and attentive. If you come here to eat. Ask for Jessica. If she's not working. Come back when she is! An amazing experience. Food was solid. Good Mexican all around. Will be back again.

Yelp
This spot is by the park's great Location. I had the poblano chicken enchiladas and they were okay. The sauce was creamy and had a good flavor. The enchiladas were cold and the tortillas were dry the chicken was so dry you had to make sure you got some of the poblano sauce with every bite. The rice was a bit dry too it had some flavor and the only warm thing was the refried beans they were good. The restaurant was busy semi-loud for the number of people they had. My server Andre was delightful. He was polite and attentive he made small talk with me for a bit before he had to get ready for his big party coming in. He was a great server. Other than that this was an okay place. I didn't like the Chips or salsa. Maybe it's because this has more of a Tex-Mex flavor to it. I'm only I. Texas for one more night so maybe next time I will try them again.

Yelp
I love this Mi Cocina!!! Even though the restaurant was really busy, everyone from the staff makes sure you are having a good time and are always taken care off. From the hostess, to the bussers, to our server Jorge and the managers, everyone was very friendly and kind. Couldn't leave without grabbing a Mambo Taxi! (100% recommend). Definitely going back.

Yelp
Best Tex Mex in Dallas, Mambo taxis and brisket tacos are the best. Great atmosphere and beautiful restaurant whit a great attentive service.

Yelp
Fantastic service today! Andrew, our waiter, was excellent. The food was authentic and full of flavor. Great place to eat.

Yelp
Had the best girl dinner date!!!! Jessica was our waitress and she was so fun and gave us the best service. Great location downtown and beautiful patio to just enjoy great company!!!!! My smile says it all!!!!

Yelp
Brisket tacos are delicious! Service is top notch and ambiance is a 10! Brisket Tacos
google avatar

Yelp
Nothing about the vegan tacos was good. Just because I am vegan doesn't mean I like weird food I just don't eat meat. The mushrooms were a good meat source but the flavor was all garlic and didn't resemble the taste of a taco or Mexican food in the slightest.
google avatar

Cam A.

Yelp
I used to love this place but it's gone downhill. The crispy guacamole tacos were lacking any flavor and I only got 2 full tacos, 1 taco had barely remnants of the filling in it. The vegetarian options are overall lacking as well. I'm disappointed in how bad this restaurant has gotten.

Marcela M.

Yelp
Made and Uber eats order for a tortilla soup, they sent me about 4 gulps of a soup portion, no avocado and like 3 pieces of cheese. I've eaten here plenty of times before and ordered the same thing. I know the portions, my order was a total joke. Don't eat here, they don't care about quality, they just want to make a sale.
google avatar

Yelp
Victor, Mike and Luis were AMAZING! We tried all the staple pieces and took great care of us. They taught us about Mambo Taxi. We are from SoCal and love great customer service. They definitely went above and beyond my favorite was the Paloma made with fresh grapefruit juice! The ambiance was very fun and light. The people are very welcoming. Definitely coming back soon for my next business trip!

Yelp
***** stars for the Manager who recognized our poor service and changed the whole experience ** stars for hostess staff and wait process That sucked 15 mins turned into 30 I recommend trying to sit outside-it was beautiful ambiance **** for the taste of food Zero stars for our first waitress who took 12 mins to even speak to us and it was , "I'll be with you in a minute" but NEVER came back. ****** six stars for the amazing young kid bussing tables. Dude was great, quick, responsive and helped us even when it was not his job. We wouldn't have gotten drinks or chips if not for him. That tip he got was well worth my money to reward him! I wish I had gotten his name **** stars over all The manager 50s, H/M, bald, glasses really saved our experience with his kindness and willingness to make things right. He delivered a free appetizer and apologized profusely. Genuine for sure I'd go back We had the Deluxe 57 and they even threw on an extra enchilada, he knows how to please.

Yelp
Karely was absolutely amazing! We had so much fun eating our food and we got to sit out on the patio and enjoy the view! Clyde Warren is such a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Dallas! Her service was amazing and she was so kind and serve everything with a smile!

Susana A.

Yelp
Luis had amazing service and his drinks were amazing. Would definitely come back to have a drink. Shout out to Victor and Mike great customer service

Yelp
I went friday night with a few friends and really enjoyed the food and ambience! Did not know what to get to drink so the bartender Luis suggested to try a pineapple one named "La Pina". 10/10 loved it and Luis's service! Definitely would go again for drinks

Yelp
So good! One of the best Mexican places ever. I love mex food and this place was just delicious. The bartenders were super nice and just a good vibe. Next trip back to Dallas def coming back here. 4 stars instead of 5 due to the fact the bar doesn't have half of the menu. Only a few things. It be great if they could put the full restaurant menu if you sit at the bar.

Taylor S.

Yelp
Joel did a phenomenal job and was extremely attentive! Class A service! Food and drinks were very fast. Solid. Would come back again.

Kavaragu M.

Yelp
Beautiful location, nicely decorated, patio is always full, but the people and the food leave something to be desired. I can't remember the last time I received such poor service or lukewarm and poor quality food, but Mi Cocina did it. I was really excited to try this location as I had thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the west village location- what a let down. The staff was just short of rude, but disinterested enough to make you feel like you were interrupting their slow Wednesday night. As much as I'd love to visit this location again, I'm sorry to say I won't be back.
google avatar

Maryam M.

Yelp
The food was okay, but nothing fancy, to be honest I would like velvet taco more than this one! The vibe was not there, it is uptown so you need a little more crowd or at least better music!

Barbara A.

Yelp
Saul (manager) & Jessica (our regular server of choice) )made our experience amazing. Sitting on the patio facing the Klyde Warren patio even in drizzle was fun people watching! Customer care, smiles and great food still serving the best frozen margaritas ever. Shrimp Cervichi is a full plate of wonderfulness. I'm not a cucumber fan so beware of that. Barbara A. Uptown

Yelp
Delicioso! Love chilling with my guy addy here on our lunch break. No better spot to catch a vibe and dine on a reasonably priced lunch special. And in case you were wondering, yes that is a Dr Pepper QZ (quarter zip). He's got it on ya dig.

Lydia C.

Yelp
The service was amazing! Love that about this place, the gentleman name juanito is the best never fails to go beyond for us. The food is amazing love how authentic it is.

Yelp
Lovely place right in the middle of the downtown park. Great views, wonderful staff. We stopped in to wet our whistle, glass of wine, martini, and a single bourbon and rocks..$39 Not bad, lost a star because they didn't have Bombay gin, no olive in my martini, and the bourbon was a label I didn't recognize. Bro, get some Jack, Jim, or anything!
