Mickey’s Italian Delicatessen & Liquor Store

Mickey’s Italian Deli is a popular locals spot for some of the best sandwiches in town. We usually order food from Mickey’s when we’re hanging out at the beach. You can order online on their website or on their app for pick up. It’s very convenient. This place has everything including a deli selling breakfast, pizza, calzones, dinner, pasta, sandwiches, salads, sides, drinks and desserts. Mickey’s also has a little market with alcoholic beverages, fresh prepared foods, snacks, candy, household cleaners, toilet paper, paper towels, beverages, etc. Charming spot right next to the beach! Great location. Today we ordered the large Roast Beef Deluxe sandwich on a French Roll ($16.75) which is their most popular bread option. Also got a regular Reuben Deluxe on rye with Thousand Island on the side ($15.75). Placed our order at 2:30pm and estimated pick up time was for 2:55pm. We walked over to Mickey’s around 2:45pm and the order was ready for pick up at the main counter. Let me just tell you that both sandwich options were so damn good. I got the Reuben and it was full of flavor and great crunch on the different textures. They forgot my Thousand Island on the side but it was fine, still tons of flavor. Got the Roast Beef Sandwich for the kids to share and it was plenty of food for them. Another great sandwich. My brother-in-law ordered the Meatball Sandwich and let us have a bite and that was massive, tasty but so big! They also have a reward program that is worth signing up for with points adding up quickly. I have 57 points and can redeem for $5.70 off my order. Mickey's not only has the best sandwiches in the area they also have the best pizza. The place is just the real deal.. high quality ingredients that are always extremely fresh because they do a ton of business... everything is constantly fresh. And the people who make the food and work inside many of them have been there for decades and the kids are locals. There is a small convenience and liquor store but the star of the show is the deli with slices and whole pies, pasta, and probably the best array of sandwiches you will find anywhere. The Hermosa Chicken is my healthy option but the Pastrami deluxe is sandwich nirvana. I used to eat the chicken with eggplant and red sauce we can do a whole write up just how good their tomato sauce is. Mostaccioli deluxe weighs about 14 pounds and you will take a long nap.. but it is probably the most delicious thing you can get in one of those little round tin pans. Mickey's is a local icon.. the experience is everything you love about Hermosa and the beach and the food and people are timeless and absolutely the best. If you visit do yourself a favor and get a whole fresh pizza.. thin crust.. I dare you to say that isn't the best pizza around... because it is.

This is my last Mickey’s summer and I’m not okay. 😭 Since 2018, Mickey’s has been my go-to for post-work beach days with my mom, and now that I’m moving to Hawai‘i early next year… it’s officially the end of an era. If you know, you know: Mickey’s Deli on Hermosa Ave is more than a neighborhood sandwich shop—it’s a South Bay rite of passage. Just steps from the sand between 1st & 2nd Street, it’s where locals stock up before hitting the beach. And yes, you’ll even catch the owner hanging out because that’s the kind of spot it is. My forever order? The Hermosa Chicken or the Veggie Deluxe—depending on the vibe. Always paired with water and a ready-to-drink cocktail (because I day drink, obviously 😎). Grab a bag of Kettle chips and a few pepperoncinis from the cooler, and you’re set. I’ll be spending every 70°+ day here after work until I board that one-way flight. So if you see a black woman with a floppy hat, Kangen water, and a beach chair posted up solo—it’s probably me saying goodbye to this salty little summer ritual.

One of the best sandwich shops in the south bay area. They also have a little mini mart inside. They also have outside tables if you want to eat your order there. No free parking but, you usually can find metered parking right outside and nearby.

Fantastic subs. Every time I’m in California I go here. Staff are super friendly and the deli sandwiches are filled to the brim with fresh ingredients. Outdoor seating is great too.

Cool deli! Staff was polite! Can't wait to try pizza and their marinara sauce. The sandwich was good. Italian combo. A little spice, nice, bread was soft and tasty.

I ordered the Deluxe Pastrami Sub in a large size, and it was incredibly generous in portion. The sandwich was packed with so many ingredients that it was almost too much to finish. The taste was absolutely delicious and very satisfying. The shop has a lively atmosphere, and the staff are very energetic and attentive, which clearly shows its popularity. When you order inside, your name is called from the outside window where you pick up your order. Since it’s located in Hermosa Beach, finding parking can be a bit challenging. However, there are 15-minute parking spots around the area, so grabbing a to-go order isn’t a problem.

Great people each time I’ve been. The sandwiches exceed expectations every time too. We had them on our wedding day! This time, I tried the Chipotle Chicken Deluxe. Best one yet. Perfect for taking to-go to the beach or home.

Got to try the pastrami deluxe at this local establishment. It was pretty good. The pastrami was decent with little to no fatty bits. The mixture of mustard, pepperoncini, and pickles were balanced which gave the sandwich that nice savory and juicy texture that one expects of a pastrami sandwich. The staff is very nice and easy to talk to in figuring out what you want. I'd love to come back to try the Italian traditional ones. The sandwich orders do take a bit of time to make but they make it very well. You can take this sandwich and eat it by the beach if you don't feel like sitting at the tables available.

Food was amazing, shocked how a slice of pizza was $5.75 each BUT it was worth every bite! Stumbled upon this place while spending a whole day at the beach. We ordered 3 slices of pizza from the display case, spaghetti with meatball and penne pasta with meat sauce. It was so good and felt like I literally just ate from an Italian grandma's kitchen! Service was excellent, I believe it was the owner that took our order. He was very patient and very accommodating, we had one complicated order but he made it work. Love how it's a small kitchen inside a store. You pick up your order on the side of the building from a window. In the patio area there's about 5 tables that sits 4-5 people each. Luckily, we checked our food before walking away because they forgot our spaghetti but I'm not dinging' them up for that because we all make mistakes. Food was delicious and it made up for it! I order from Mickey's all the time online because they have a great deal on pizza slices and cannoli. Their sandwiches are also excellent, but I probably won't stop ordering pizza and cannoli online anytime soon. They have a great Instagram page worth following, often featuring their super large pizza slice. Great lunch spot for anyone in the South Bay!

Great great great local deli. Pizza, salads, hot and cold sandwiches. All good. And they have a good selection of liquor, drinks and minor neighborhood goodies. What a nice find. The pastrami pizza is surprisingly tasty. Don't change a thing guys. Your service is friendly and quick as well.

After research on YELP this mom and pop pizzeria was my first choice. Winner Winner as this is my kids favorite Pizza spot. They live in Redondo, I'm visiting from Texas. From the moment my daughter called in the order to picking up. I was extremely impressed to hear the excellent customer service on the phone, and in person. Plenty of parking in front. Outdoor seating, plus the outside pickup window. Our pizza was everything I was craving. YELP Austin Elite approved!

As a Long Island, NY native, I'm super picky about my Deli's. Mikey's is no joke...it's an absolutely top notch deli...and I would stack it up against my favorite places from home. The chicken salad (which I didn't expect) was the best I've ever had. If I ever order another sandwich, I have to get a take-home side of the chicken salad. It's that good. The corned beef sandwich is also absurdly good. I can't wait to try all the other sandwiches on the menu. A must visit spot for anyone who appreciates good (family owned) food. Also...they have an entire pickle bar!

Nice little store! Good quality food and desserts. I got a chicken sandwich and I've also had the carrot cake which is one of the best carrot cakes I've had. The fellas who run the store give great service, they are quick, and make good suggestions if you're not sure what to order on the menu! If you're near the beach and need to grab lunch or snacks, come here!!

The variety and convenience brings this review to 4 stars. It is right next to the beach and carries a wide variety of snacks, candy, drinks, and food. I ordered the pepperoni calzone and wow I was impressed with the size. It was baked fresh so cheesy and so much pepperoni. If you don't like a lot of grease maybe avoid this as it was dripping on the first few bites. Their sandwiches are also solid. Prices are a bit pricey but the convenience and quality justified it for me. Service is good as they have a lot of attentive staff.

Great new york style deli and subs! Pastrami was warm and had a great balance of fatty meat with the pickles. Also liked the chicken parm but personally felt that it could use a little more sauce/cheese. Nice service, there's also a good selection of deli meats / sides. Mostly order to to but there's a cute little outdoor seating as well.

I'm so happy I discovered this place! Nostalgia and quality food wrapped up in one conveniently located part of town. Mickey's serves up some of the best Philly sandwiches I've had in a LONG TIME, and they really put quality into their product. They have great service, and a fun staff that gives recommendations which are helpful since they have a vast menu! They offer a great variety of drinks, snacks and food to enjoy at the beach nearby. They also have an outdoor seating area which has a giant mural that I absolutely love. It's a great atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Whenever I'm in town and around, I can't think of a better place to pop in and enjoy a good bite!

Been coming to mickeys for 2 years now. There was a special on their lemon ricotta cake a while back on uber eats, BOGO. Gave my son a little piece and he fell in LOVE. It's the perfect balance of spongey and moist, and the thin dust of powdered sugar gives it the perfect sugary touch. Mind you, my son does not like cake, and he's very particular(yay me LOL). He loved this cake so much he requested it for his birthday! Last week I called and ordered a cake for 8, August told me no problem it would be ready when I needed. Come pickup day, took a glance at the cake and it could EASILY feed 12 people. Thank you August and staff for being so friendly and accommodating and most of all making my son's birthday!!!!

Adorable deli and market next to the beach with great sandos, as well as a vast selection of Italian foods and treats. I got the Turkey Deluxe which was quite good. The deluxe option comes with lettuce and tomato, which is pretty standard in my book. I love the option to have your sandwich heated, and that you can modify and add items like avo, bacon, olives, and many other goodies. The regular size was more than enough for lunch. The sandwich was a bit heavy on the mayo and the bread was just a bit dry. The turkey itself was great, but I found the cheddar cheese selection overpowering, would definitely only have Swiss or provolone next time. Service was great, sandwich was up in about 5 minutes after ordering. Metered parking was really easy, and the outdoor eating area by the beach was perfect! Definitely a classic spot!

I was referred by a fellow surfer here and no regrets. I wasn't expecting my sandwich to be so gigantic but it was! I got the eggplant parmigiana sandwich and ate it by the beach. It was piping hot, full of eggplant, marinara sauce, and parmesan /mozzarella cheese that pulls miles from your mouth! It's definitely comfort food after a great surf sesh! The wait wasn't long and you pick up your sandwich by the window outside by the tables. You could sit outside and still see the ocean but I like to be as close to the water as I can. What can I say...I'm a water baby! They do have seating with umbrellas that will sit a party of 6. 15 mins street parking out front otherwise metered parking around the area. I'm sure there are free residential parking somewhere but we didn't have time to look around. The menu is directly in front of you on the wall and there is a display of pizzas and a variety of goodies inside the glass compartment. On the right is a little grocery store with a cute tropical aquarium to boot!Would definitely come out again when I'm in this part of town and try their pizzas, calzones, and cannolis. Can't wait!

Busy busy, but after a 20 minute wait we were drooling hard and appreciated the excellent quality we had in front of us. We all enjoyed our sandwiches but my Ruben was the show stealer. Piled high, served hot and with lots of napkins, this messy sandwich was darn near perfect! Outdoor seating was fine, nothing special but nice to people watch. No indoor seating as it's a convenience store / deli.

I went here for the first time today because I heard a lot of good things about an "Italian deli." The first thing I noticed was there were no deli meats in the counter, which I have never seen before in an "Italian deli." I asked the young man about the meats & I asked for some capicola, he told me it was "spicy" also asked for "sharp provolone". Well if that is " spicy" & "sharp" then I am the Pope. Also the cannoli wasn't very good as the shell was soft. I asked the young man if they had any black & white- deer in headlights no idea what it was. I was impressed by the wine selection but don't know if I will return, I will try to find another "Italian deli."

Pizza was just good. Philly cheese steak was just okay. A very basic sandwich, I wouldn't consider this a deli.

Perfect spot to stop at before or after the beach, love the vibes of this deli! The kid who took my order was great, everyone who worked there was nice. I made my own sandwhich with prosciutto and they gave me a really generous portion which was delicious. I thought they would have more ingredients for a sandwhich shop though- it was a little difficult to customize my sandwhich, would have been perfect with some arugula and balsamic glaze.

I've been coming to Mickey's for years since I live in the area. They have great NY style pizzas and great Italian subs. My go to is the pastrami. And I also love the pizza. This place can get busy especially during the lunch hours. Be sure to call in your order to cut down on the wait time. Metered street parking. There's also a small patio with a few tables to eat out. Better yet, walk down a few feet and eat at the beach. Mickey's is a family owned business.

We had a life changing moment! I am always on a search for the best prosciutto sandwiches and this is my favorite by far in Los Angeles and beyond. The bread is always soft and delicious, the amount of prosciutto is so powerful! You surely get a prosciutto fix! I always love the combo of mayo and lettuce with deli meat, most refreshing taste to me. All this to say, I would probably come here once a month from Echo Park and have a sandwich, and sometimes, if I found descent parking, I would eat it at the beach and then head back to downtown. This was my first target meal after being pregnant and unable to eat it for almost 10 months! A week after I delivered my baby, I requested a trip out to the beach for this sandwich! I kept going on and on about it, and my fiancée tried it. He finally understood what I was talking about! It was larger than I had remembered and I got two meals out of it. I was in Heaven. I always recommend Mickey's deli for a good beach/sandwich day, especially to those that are just visiting the city.

First off let's start by saying I was in the mood for a huge sub to take to the beach. I came across this place several times I decided to give it a go. As you go inside you see a nice selection of different market items snacks and drinks to top it off there's a liquor section which is more than what you expected. I ordered from the front counter and was greeted by the friendly cashier. He was attentive and made the ordering quick by answering questions about menu items. I ordered the turkey deluxe which was fully loaded and toasted to perfection with the freshest ingredients. It had generous amounts of Turkey Mayo, Swiss and Cheddar Cheese, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Onions, Pickles, and Pepperoncini. I ordered the large lol let's just say it was so massive I had to save the other half for later. The ambiance is busy with a spacious out door seating with umbrellas.

Oh my lord this place was sooooo good. My roommate and I went here for a little lunch on the beach before we started studying and it was amazing. We split a large BBQ beef sandwich and it was super filling and she even was able to save some and eat it later. The food came out in about 10 minutes which I think is pretty good for the amount of people that were there and the time we went. They had a few tables to eat at outside but they're right next to the beach so I would suggest take a towel and eating your sandwich right on the beach

I recently saw a tik tok where this place was rated #2 on best Italian sandwich in LA out of 10. I had to check it out. This place is super cute... almost like a small convient store with a deli inside. There are outside picnic tables and this place is steps from the ocean. I will be back. The sandwich was tasty... soft fresh bread ... tasty meats and toppings. This is a great place to grab a sandwich and head to the beach.

I have been craving a sandwich for weeks and wanted to try something different. I been coming to Hermosa beach to hang out for years and never heard of this place until I ran into it on Yelp. Service was great, I was attended to quickly since it was not busy. It's a liquor store with alot to office from snacks to drinks and food. The pastrami sandwich? FIRE! we also had the chicken parm sandwich. Definitely coming back to try other things!

Ordered takeout from their website and it was ready for pickup within 15 minutes, which was perfect timing for me to walk from our hangout on the beach. We got the rigatoni bolognese and bbq chicken sandwich. The pastas come with an entire loaf of garlic bread which was delicious, and my chicken sandwich was delicious. Overall a solid joint, and perfect location to pickup for dining on the sand.

The pizza and the Philly cheesesteak are amazing! Right on the beach, parking is a little tough but such a cute location! It's also a shop inside with cool boutique like goods to buy that you won't find else where. The staff is super nice and the owner sweet!

I grew up on 10th street and the Strand in Hermosa Beach with 40 years of experience so when I say you will be amazed I mean it!!!! Mickey's Italian Deli is the real deal!!! Step in make your decision and enjoy one pro tip would be the Italian sub is totally killer!!!

Breakfast pastrami burrito was ginormous...enough to split 3 ways ..made with a generous portion of pastrami I might add......also ordered a pesto bowtie pasta salad with fresh grape tomatoes and pine nuts doesn't get any fresher than this .lots of flavor in every bite ..and of course some adult beverages paired nicely with our brunch

Pastrami deluxe always hits the spot and there in house pickle. Yummm. Friendly and fast since I ordered online. Not much asking but they have a 10 minute parking in front so you can be in and out.

This is a super nice neighborhood pizzeria. I had high expectations when I discovered this place and was really hoping for a NY style pizza experience. The pizza was not good - dough was not flavorful and got super hard the next day. I doubt that these guys are making their own pizza dough unfortunately. Also when entering the restaurant the light inside feels like you are entering a surgery room. All in all I would probably come back again to try something else and convince myself otherwise. The two gentlemen inside were very friendly.

My coworkers introduced me to Mickeys and I keep going back when I'm craving a sub! Everyone is friendly, in the summer there are lots of kids hanging there (it's right in front of the beach) always a mission to find parking but they have pretty good food options here! Lunch here has become the norm!

Catered with Mickey's and the whole process was smooth. Gonzalo gave great advice on items to order, Drea seamlessly confirmed our order and it was delivered on time. Food was great!

The good: I'm a few weeks post partum and wanted a quick and easy breakfast that was also filling enough to allow me to skip lunch. I got the pastrami breakfast burrito and bbq beef French roll for breakfast. I've never heard of pastrami in a breakfast burrito before but it should definitely be on your radar! It was delicious and the red hot sauce that went with it was super nice because it was uniquely acidic and tangy. The tortilla was soft and wasn't overly wrapped where there was tons of excess wrap. The bbq beef sandwich was saucy and tender. The bad: I would've liked vegetables in the sandwich. It was only the saucy meat and vegetables. My delivery driver had to wait 25 minutes at the store for the order even though I placed my order the night before. The interesting: The place is a casual joint that looks like a liquor store.

I really wanted to love this but it just doesn't do it for me. Saw the big slice on instagram over and over so there's no shortage of ads, which is cool. We paid almost $30 for the slice with a can of pop. First off the pepperonis were just greasy slabs. Too big and not a bit of crisp. Second the cheese was like too much and kind of rubbery? Third it wasn't any better reheated in the air fryer. We threw out most of it. The service on the other hand was very good. Fast and friendly. I'm definitely coming back to try the other menu items. I can give a proper review on everything.

Plenty of parking, outdoor waiting area next to the sand is cool, huge subs. Gas station/small market vibes indoor. Seagulls will be eyeing your food. Italian hit the spot.

Something's you just don't have explained ! Try anything nd everything under the sun I recommend their tuna salad sandwich with cheese quick, simple and delightful all at the same time. Headed to the beach with the kids! Then this will blow their eatin chips away! Split a delicious house pizza specialty ! Just one slice will have the little ones running in delight with a smile. Passin through the South Bay ? Say less Mickey's team has you covered 100! Need to make a beer or liquor run ! Mickeys got you.... flip flops towel and a great attitude is all you need since you are already on the beach ! Enjoy this slice of heaven anyway you like--- everything is made with a whole lotta love in SouthBay!

Absolutely delicious sandwiches and the perfect being along for the beach. Highly recommend ordering ahead via phone or online. The shop is located on a busy street with limited parking so ordering ahead will allow you to not worry too much about doing the walk-in order and waiting. There is a great selection of cold and hot sandwiches, cold salads, pizza/calzones and hot pasta dishes. There are also a ton of drinks available for purchase along with alcoholic drinks. The large size is easily enough for 2 people to share a sandwich. The regular size is also filling enough so you won't feel like you didn't get enough! Service is great and the deli counter is very much an old school Italian deli style. They also offer catering and party size servings. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a delicious and fresh beach meal.

Been coming to Mickey's ever since my high school days and I'm glad it's still here. The sandwiches are the best in town and they still have the Sauce Sandwich that I remember so well for those on a budget. Now I get the hot pastrami or hot BBQ beef which is my favorite. 5 stars!

This review is specifically for their pizza! Ordered a 18" cheese pizza and added pepperoni and sausage and some garlic bread.I love Mickey's pizza. Dough has a nice crisp and chew with just the right thickness. Sauce was great and the toppings were generous and evenly dispersed. Garlic bread was a nice compliment to the meal. I will definitely be ordering here again.

I always stop by this spot and the food is amazing. They have all that you need to eat, drink, & snack on. Aside from the food, all the workers there are cool asf. One of their workers named Derek is always going above and beyond. He seems to bring joy to all the customers and has unmatched vibes. Elias is another worker who stands out and makes sure I'm well taken care of. Can't go wrong pulling up to this spot fr.
