"A restaurant in Cincinnati known for its flexibility and adaptation to various diets, offering vegan and vegetarian best-sellers like vegetable tempura and seasonal soups." - Jaya Saxena

"The menu at Mid City Restaurant is deceptively straightforward. The mushrooms in foil are just that, cooked with turnip greens, shoyu, and butter. There’s a dish called the “easy salad.” But chef Francisco Alfaro finds ways to make each dish taste like much more than the sum of its parts. Alfaro unleashes the staff’s full potential alongside owner Mike Stankovich, who has experience fostering creativity at Longfellow, an Over-the-Rhine restaurant where the kitchen has no hood. Look for the Mid City Plate — which nods to Cincinnati’s German heritage with bratwurst, porchetta, frankfurter, potato, and sauerkraut, all seared on a plancha — or the fried sandwich of yam, grilled leek, egg, black garlic, and manchego." - Andy Brownfield

Really fun experience all around. We don’t drink but they still made some fun mocktails. And a lot of fun and interesting things to try and surprisingly cheap for the quality of everything. The tempura vegetables were our favorite!

This place has an interesting, ever-changing menu of mostly small plates, with a few larger options. They also seem to take pride in their drink menu, but I didn't have any drinks on my first visit. The vibe at dinnertime was dimly lit and date-night-worthy, but it could still suit a casual outing. Service was good and plates came out as ready. For food, I had the bok choy, chicken skewer, and meatball skewer. Flavors were excellent across the board; not a single bite on any of the plates was uninteresting or wasted. I could eat like this every day. I'd probably order a minimum of three dishes if sticking to small plates if I wanted to leave satisfied. Value is definitely there with this quality of food; they take simple things and work magic. I'll be back soon!

There’s something undeniably special about MidCity—a level of care, class, and respect that turns every visit into something personal. This isn’t just a bar; it’s a crafted experience, an effortless balance of precision and warmth. From the first pour to the last sip, the team—whose dedication mirrors that of their sister bar, Longfellow—delivers excellence with ease. Last night was no exception. Thoughtfully curated cocktails, a menu that speaks with purpose, and a staff that makes you feel seen—MidCity doesn’t just serve drinks; they elevate the standard. Cincinnati is lucky to have this place.

First of all, the ambiance didn’t quite live up to the hype. The acoustics of the space create a loud and echoey environment, which made it difficult to hold a conversation—at times, I even struggled to hear the servers. The tables were packed too closely together, compromising any sense of intimacy or comfort. The cocktails were underwhelming. El Presidente, in particular, lacked both the visual allure and the layered complexity I was expecting; it tasted flat and uninspired. The potato salad was passable, though nothing memorable. The mushrooms in foil were overly salted, masking any earthy nuance that good mushrooms typically bring to the table. The lamb skewer came with a pleasant avocado sauce that added a creamy freshness, but unfortunately, the lamb was overcooked and dry, lacking the tenderness and succulence one would hope for. The meatball skewer was overwhelmingly salty to the point of being unpalatable. We also tried one of their featured cuts of meat, which turned out to be excessively fatty, with richness that felt more greasy than indulgent. The shrimp encased in pastry puff with béchamel sauce sounded promising, but the execution was off—the texture was doughy and the flavors clashed rather than complemented. For dessert, we went with the baked Alaska. While the presentation was attractive, the balance of flavors didn’t quite come together, and overall it landed somewhere between mediocre and forgettable. In sum, it was a disappointing experience that fell far short of the culinary standard I was hoping for. The menu reads better than it eats.

Mid City Restaurant has a chef who was nominated for the 2023 James Beard award for best chef in the Great Lake Region. This nomination is what drove me to try the restaurant. Our server was excellent. He was attentive and quick. The entire staff was great. They were all openly helping each other and getting food out of the kitchen at great rates. The bar selection was well done. The listed cocktails were heavily influenced by the classics. I'm sure the bartender could have made most things that cross you mind. The menu was wildly varied. Instead of having a set theme, instead, the theme seemed to be upscale comfort food. The potato casserole reminded me of of my Midwest roots while the mushrooms had an Asian influence. The dishes ranges from ehhh too amazing. The shrimp aspic was a miss for me. The potato casserole, mushrooms, and baked Alaska were the stars. For 6 courses, a cocktail, a beer, and a tip, our bill was $85. The value here is fantastic. I was fully expecting to spend closer to the $120 range. With a little refinement, this could truly be a special restaurant.

We loved every dish we tried! Can’t recommend it enough. This was our first time at Mid City restaurant and honestly we were blown away. The flavors of all the dishes were really unique and full of flavor. It’s hard for us to decide which dishes were our favorites. Everything was awesome. We were only a party of two and they were able to seat us easily. However, I would say that if you have a bigger group to make a reservation ahead of time. We ordered the asparagus salad with Roe, bok Choy, fried sandwich, petite steak, chicken skewer, shrimp skewer and the Baked Alaska. If I had to pick a top three, order the petite steak, asparagus salad and Baked Alaska.

Google
Food is delicious and great value. Best sweet potato fries (shoe string sweet potato fries!) ever. Would gladly take any of my foodie friends from out of town to this restaurant. For reference, I had the sweet potato fries, bread with pickle butter, braised rabbit, and petite steak filet. All of them were great.

Google
Mid City Restaurant is my favorite new restaurant. I love the cozy atmosphere, the excellent service, the hand crafted cocktails and the menu of small tasting dishes to share. It's very affordable, but the food is so good that you feel you are splurging on fine dining! I also love that you can make reservations. This is definitely a 5 STAR restaurant!

Yelp
Service was perfection. Drinks were always full. Recommendations were spot on. The space was a combination of dimly lit, kinda sexy- but you're at your grandmas house. It felt approachable and not-at-all pretentious, which is hard to come by as of late. The booth in the bar is the best seat in the house, so go with friends and order EVERYTHING. Some stand out dishes: Baguette with pickle butter (why have I never thought of this?!?), the tempura veg change daily. On this night, they were mild peppers and the combination of crispy batter and vinegar was incredible. The petit filet and foie gras might be the best $15 plate in the city. The mid city plate, but really you only want the porchetta because, porchetta. So ask nicely and they'll likely oblige. Like seriously. Don't skip the porchetta.

Yelp
The server greeted us immediately with a smile, water and menus. He share their specials of the day, took our drink orders and food orders. My husband and I tried cocktails - we enjoyed them. There weren't a lot of choices for someone who doesn't eat meat - I don't. I got the fried sandwich. Our children got the burgers, sweet potato fries - and thoroughly enjoyed them. The atmosphere is very warm and friendly.

Yelp
Great variety of tapas...all very good! Nice ambiance! The only negative if anything is if you are particular about wine varietals, it is limited...

Brooke B.

Yelp
Let me start by saying the atmosphere here is very cozy. It felt like walking into a modern German pub with the intimate seating, decor and overall charm. Our waiter was friendly and was happy to talk about the menu with us. The menu is pretty limited & is mostly shareable. We ordered the salad, petite filet, crab burger, and sweet potato fries which was a good amount of food for the 2 of us. Everything was good but we liked the crab burger best. Overall, it was a pleasant experience but we aren't dying to go back for the food. I'd recommend going with a group and ordering the entire menu.

Jessica O.

Yelp
Service was great. Excellent food all around, can't go wrong with anything. 5 stars is under rating it, deserves more stars!

Yelp
Headline - The food was really good. The service was bizarrely bad?? Went to brunch on Saturday at Mid City. Didn't realize when I made the reservation that the place opened at 11:30. Seems like a late start for brunch. We ordered cocktails. The Bloody Mary was solid, made with Clamato juice, with nice pickle flavor. The coffee milk cocktail with bourbon was basically an Irish coffee. Would have been nice if it was served with ice. Our server was pretty disinterested. Couldn't hear what he was saying and not very friendly. It was actually pretty weird. The food was bomb. Sweet potato fries were salty and sweet. The shishito peppers were sick with the tempura batter light and crispy. The fried egg sandy was a surprise for me. Flavors were crazy, and unlike something I've ever had. Manchego cheese was dope. I'm a biscuit and gravy fanatic and these were unlike anything I've ever had. Served on a zucchini cornbread with a super peppery gravy. The restaurant is beautiful. Love the design choices they made. Sat in the bar area and it looks like an awesome bar to belly up to. Wanna go back for dinner.

Yelp
Cute little restaurant with homey vibes and elevated American style food. I've been meaning to try this place for a while, so I'm glad we finally made it in! They take reservations through Resy, which I don't use very much, so we tried walking in on a weeknight and were lucky enough to get a table. My Tom Collins was nice and refreshing and their bread with the pickle butter was delicious. My boyfriend enjoyed his burger, and my salad wasn't bad. Their menu is a little eclectic, so it's worth checking out ahead of time to make sure you'll find food you like. Over all a nice experience, but not sure there were enough food options we're interested in for us to come back and try something different we think we'd like.

Aidin G.

Yelp
Service and ambiance were excellent Drinks were great. Food was ok. More like snacks than appetizers.

Marilyn C.

Yelp
Food: 5/5 - I was hesitant about the Bok Choy but ended up really enjoying it. Crisp and refreshing! Never thought tahini would be a combo that works but it's so good! - I'm still thinking about the Mushroom in Foil. Super savory and packed with flavor. The lightly sautéed green added a nice texture contrast on top. - Tofu was a little over battered but the sauce made up for it! Total pre tip: $70 (including 2 cocktails, 2 desserts, and toasted bread - such an amazing deal!!) Service: 4.5/5 - Friendly staff that answered all our questions. Ambiance: 4/4 - Cute and snug! 100% coming back again! Give it a try :)

Yelp
What a gem. We split a really nice array of small plates -- the mushrooms in foil with broth (get the grilled bread - you will definitely want to dunk it in that broth), the smelt, the mid-city plate (the best Avril sausages), the tempura poblano. Every dish was worth getting and I left with intent to return and try the rest (although I will want to get some repeats too, argh). Very nice bar as well. I had a solid good Manhattan. Cost was super fair for what we had - I think l it a bargain, frankly. Parking is actually plentiful and right outside: street at meters or there is a nice lot sort of attached to the rear of the restaurant (the corner of Central Parkway and Walnut).

Yelp
Our group of five had a wonderful dinner here! All of the food and drinks were delicious, and the service was phenomenal! Shoutout to our server Sam - she is the best!! Many other workers were walking around and helping, as well by bringing more water, clearing finished plates, and bringing additional side plates. We ordered a ton of apps, three different entrees (two of each of them!), and two desserts. Our favorites: - easy salad - sweet potato fries - chicken skewers - petite steak filet - baked Alaska I recommend going with a group so that you can do what we did and order almost everything on the menu and share it all. If you love something and want more, you can easily order another. We had a great time and left so happy! The only downside that I must add: big booties beware! The benches at our table were soooo tiny!! We looked around and noticed that this is the case for only two tables in the whole place: the two at the front by Court Street. The bench seats we sat on were HALF the width of the other bench seats. Not kidding! We were joking that we were flying Allegiant and that we would definitely pay for an upgrade LOL Luckily we had a great experience so this did not damper it. However, I would be worried to take parents or grandparents here in case we got sat at one of the tiny bench tables because they were not comfortable.

Yelp
I had a great experience at Mid City. At first I was skeptical, because the prices were high for the size of dish you receive. Everything was much smaller than I expected. But then I tasted what I'd ordered and was blown away. The flavors are just incredible. I tried the charred squash and bok choy. The squash was perfectly cooked, and I loved the mix of the smokiness of the squash, the salty crunch of the sunflower seeds, and the sweetness of the apple molasses. The bok choy was also delicious, and was well seasoned and balanced. The restaurant ambiance was warm and intimate, and our server was friendly and prompt. My only complaint is that the food doesn't come out at the same time; it comes out as it's ready. Some dishes didn't take as long to prepare, so they came out much earlier than the rest. It makes it hard if you are waiting to eat until everyone gets their food. But other than that, it was great. I hope I can go back soon.

Stephanie W.

Yelp
Vibes: low-key, intimate; bring a date or a few friends Tasting notes: - Artichoke: lightly crispy with tender interior; loved the topping of savory, crunchy sunflower seeds and fresh scallions - Tempura Brussels sprouts: satisfyingly crunchy shell around each halved sprout; a light portion that is at most shareable between two people - Sweet potato fries: thin cut, almost shoestring; accompanied by a creamy tangy dip with just a little spicy kick, so addicting and swipeable, we asked for a second cup! - Fried sandwich: served diagonal cut; crunchy, cheesy, and creamy - Mushrooms in foil: soy forward with just a touch of warm richness from the butter; can be shared between two people - Baked Alaska: toasty marshmallow exterior with excellent ratio to chocolate ice cream and cake; large for one, shareable for two or three Other thoughts: - friendly, attentive service - enjoyed the pace of the dishes that were plated out by our server - appreciated the surprising amount of space between tables - the aforementioned dishes were just satiating enough for three adults Impression: a new favorite in the city, cannot wait to come back and nibble on the rest of the menu!

Yelp
So knowing I was walking in for a selection of tapas and the burger as my highlight I was prepared for the menu. The menu is small, but the bites were big! The food options were very tasty and packed a punch, all the way down to the NORRI ranch dressing. We had the tempura vegetable of the day, which turned out to be green beans, they were tasty with a mystery sauce on top, and were well seasoned. The sweet potato fries were salted and sprinkled with what tasted like sugar, VERY WELL! But the burger was my highlight! The burger's bun was soft and fluffy like pillows. Where the meat was well cooked and tasted as though it was chargrilled. The cheese was ABSOLUTELY melted perfectly, with the exact right amount of mayo and lettuce. I would definitely come back to grab the exact same options.

Amy D.

Yelp
We returned for a full dinner this time and were still as impressed with the service and the food as we were the first time. We wanted to sit at the bar again, so we arrived at about 5:15 and snagged the last two seats. After a couple of yummy Aperol spritzes, we started with the artichokes. Oh-my-goodness they were fantastic! The chef takes canned artichoke hearts and fries them and then covers them with a chili crunch sauce and sunflower seeds. We then tried the tempura veggie of the day, which were brussels. Never have we ever had such a crunchy, light tempura. For entrees we had the Skipper burger, which, even though it sounds weird, the peanut butter and pickle combo was surprisingly good; and the Mid City Plate for one. All three of the meats were good. Mike knows how to do hospitality, that's for sure.

Emma M.

Yelp
perfect in experience, flavor, & atmosphere. small plates allow for sharing and tasting multiple options. amazing and friendly service.

Michelle G.

Yelp
What a fantastic addition to central downtown. They have a very unassuming storefront, and it has a a cozy ambiance inside. We were seated at an oddly shaped table near the window with a great street view. I asked the waitress for guidance on how much to order and she recommended 2 items per person. I decided to try the fried sandwich and mushrooms in foil. Both dishes were tasty and I will definitely order the mushrooms the next time I visit. I also shared the sweet potato fries and they came with an amazing sauce. The service was great, our waitress made sure everyone in our group had everything they needed.

Celico C.

Yelp
Writing this review at the bar. 5/5 spot really. Service. Food quality. Taste. Everything really. I ordered many beers and cocktails along with the Mid City Plate and man that ho is good as hell. They have a great beer selection (not much but every beer is top notch) along with a PHENOMENAL service to top it off. I sat here for hours chatting with bartenders and eating. I even ordered a customized order of just the porchetta and potatoes and good Lord was it amazing! Amazing ambiance as well!

Matt H.

Yelp
Went with some friends who have eaten there frequently. Honestly, it was lost on me: Steamed mushrooms in tinfoil? Toast with pickle juice butter A plate of sausages. Nothing at all wowed me. The cocktail was good ‍

Laura N.

Yelp
We've been to Mid City twice and will keep coming back. We like the variety of small plates and the innovative dishes. We've have sampled almost the whole menu. For starters, some of my favorites are the radicchio pear salad, the cold bok choy with citrus tahini dressing (vegan), the grilled baguette with pickle butter and the sweet potato fries. We both love the skippy cheeseburger and my husband's favorite is the mid city plate of bratwurst, prochetta, frankfurter, potato, sauerkraut. The small plate was plenty for him. We've had the Baked Alaska and the apple pie. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly, background noise is low enough for conversation and the cocktails are perfect. I would recommend reservations on the weekends. It's a little hidden gem that is becoming a popular spot!

Meredith B.

Yelp
Came here on a Wednesday evening. The service was very good and the ambience was nice and cozy. We made reservations, but the place was empty enough I think we could have had very little wait, if any at all. The menu is not very large and the dishes are all shareable small plates. There are not many protein options but everything we tried was very delicious and unique. The easy salad was tart and sweet. It had plenty of apples and toppings. The crunch from the candied nuts made it even better! The mushrooms in foil was a bit salty but I was obsessed with the umami flavor! The tempura broccolini was very crunchy and tasty. It had a lot of batter on it, but it didn't overpower the vegetable. The bok choy was very unique. The tahini dressing was slightly creamy and had really great slightly nutty flavor, but it was on the salty side. The chicken skewer was super delicious. The meat was super juicy and tender, and it paired well with the sauce. I do wish there had been more of it though.

Ralph E.

Yelp
We had five plates, each one more delicious than the last. The potato salad was perfect, with the smoked trout that made it stand out. The 'pickled butter' with the griddled bread was unusual and a delight. The smelts were in a thick, tasty batter with a satisfying crunch. The petite steak came with a wine reduction that was excellent. And the sweet potato fries were the best we've ever had -- crispy. And plentiful. The service was quite prompt and friendly. And extra points for the waiter not telling us his name!

Arthur L.

Yelp
Went here for a Thursday evening meal and Wow is it delicious. The food was great and contributed to an amazing combination of flavors. The establishment itself is intimate but spaced well enough to have your own area. Though busy I felt well attended on by the staff and did not want for anything. The recommendations offered showed that they both knew the menu well and enjoyed it. The drink menu is small but powerful and they have an expansive bar for all your cocktail needs. Tips to make your visit a success: 1) Make a reservation or prepare to wait. This is a well sought out establishment. Even on a Thursday without a reservation the hour wait was the norm. So if you decide to come on a whim, that's ok just know you will wait and the appreciate it. If you are waiting check out some establishments nearby like Pilar to pass the time. 2) Small shareable plates means get a variety of food. This menu is meant to be shared with friends. Don't hesitate to get several different types of plates for the group. Pro tip: dip your griddled baguette in the mushrooms in foil juices and be overtaken by ecstasy. Check out Mid City and with my tips prepare for a one of a kind night.

Yelp
Wow! After a mildly disappointing dinner at esteemed-Boca the previous night, I was skeptical of the food scene in Cincinnati. Mid City Restaurant reversed that conception with a delightful experience for Sunday brunch. To begin, and in sharp contrast to flashy Boca, I loved the understated name, and modest presence of the restaurant. But as soon as we entered, looking around at the clear-cut foodies raving over their shared plates, I was certain this was a place for me. And the food did not disappoint, including perhaps my favorite gravlax preparations I've encountered, and a brilliant bok choy dish, covered in sesame seeds. Everything was absolutely delicious, and I can't wait to return for dinner soon.

Emma G.

Yelp
We loved our last minute visit to Mid City tonight. Our waiter/bartender was knowledgeable and attentive but the food was really the highlight of the evening. Here is my ranking order of the food I had. 1. Duck fat potatoes, do not miss out on these crispy treats. 2. Tempura battered vegetables which was a poblano pepper. 3. Bread service with pickle butter, the bread was plentiful to split between two. 4. Mid city plate, everything on this plate were all very balanced and delicious. 5. Bitter salad, only thing I did not absolutely love and only because it was a bit too acidic without any other flavors. Drinks were all tasty, nothing to worry if you choose something on a whim. Overall evening was delightful and we will be back sooner than later.

Yelp
I'm torn about Mid City. The liquor selection is constantly rotating and the bartenders and owner are nice and they make interesting cocktails. Where I get stuck is the food. The creativity is great and while it's a small menu, they have a variety of options, but the portion sizes are really really small. It makes it feel more like *snacks* than *meals* when Mid City has the potential to be a full-blown awesome restaurant. If they had larger (standard) portion sizes, it has the potential to be a much better value. But I can't help but notice that every time I eat here, I have the same reaction to the portions being so small. You'll end up spending ~$30 here for what might be ~$15-17 elsewhere around OTR. Even though it's really good, that makes me visit it less when we have so many options that are a better value.

Joseph L.

Yelp
We had: Baguette Mushrooms in foil Tempura Sweet potato fries Burger special Filet Baked Alaska Apple pie The menu is a little confusing. Everything is small plate. There isn't one cohesive feel. There was one thing that tied everything together. Everything was really fucking good. I might not get dessert again. It didn't blow me away like the other items. The service was great. 1000% recommend.

Latoya W.

Yelp
Found on a list called "25 Hidden Bars, Lounges and Speakeasies in Cincinnati" we stumbled into Mid City Restaurant where we felt very at home in. Upon walking it, we were greeted by a friendly host who helped us find a seat at the bar. The spot was pretty crowded and jumping this cold Friday night in January but you warm right up as soon as you sit down. Friendly service awaits you as you browse through the menu of cocktails, wine, beer, and food. Naturally, when I'm having drinks, I don't tend to look at the food menu but I saw a couple of things that really piqued my interest so I had to try. FOOD: The Mid City pPlate: Sausage, pork belly, potatoes, and sauerkraut. Are we in northern Ohio/PA? Because this a dish straight from that region! Delicious and heartwarming. The pork belly and sauce was the star for me! Beef Tongue Skewer: Feeling pretty toasty (thank you Manhattan!) I'm ready to try something new. Ordered the tongue and wow! So tender. So different. It was perfect. I'd totally order it again. I loved the slaw that came with it as well (pssst, I usually HATE slaw but this was delicious). A great dish. Give it a try. Potato Croquette: ooooo. YUM. Soft, pillowy, saucy little bites of heaven. Topped with garlic and nori... I could eat you everyday. Love! Lastly, the Brussel Sprouts. I'm not even sure if this is on the menu but it was a special dish complementary from the kitchen. I think they heard us moaning with every bite of our food that they felt obligated to serve us more lol! I TOLD you the service was amazing!!! What a crew! Thank you for letting us try this because it was one to remember. Made with crunchy tempura, such a great crunch and flavor in this dish. Seriously delicious. My Manhattan drink was perfect but what I'll always remember is the food. I loved the atmosphere as well. I highly recommend this for drinks and especially food! Enjoy!

Yelp
Mid City is a hidden gem in downtown Cincinnati! An eclectic menu of extremely tasty and well prepared food! The cocktail are fresh and delicious, as well. People should expect small plates but hearty food! The mushrooms in foil are one of the best things I have ever tasted and the baked Alaska is incredible! We have been to Mid City 4-5 times and have always enjoyed great service from a very friendly staff! It is a cozy, intimate place that feels like a neighborhood bar but with an elevated palate! There is truly something for everyone.

John G.

Yelp
Artichoke - really good Mushrooms in foil - good but too salty, we didn't even finish or take to go. Shrimp skewer - grew on me and liked a lot Special burger had peanut butter on it. Wouldn't normally order a peanut butter order but felt when in Rome-y so we did. It was good, especially the pickles and there wasn't much PB, which there was more really Overall, we may return but everything was too salty, especially the mushrooms.

Amye K.

Yelp
Small but well-chosen food menu, robust bar program. The service was unparalleled. The bartenders even told me about another place to check out the next day. The bok choy salad and mushrooms in foil were excellent. Also enjoyed a Hakirsuru draft junmai sake. Walk around OTR before or after your visit for some great retail and people watching.

Cody J.

Yelp
Salads, shrimp skewer & sweet potato fries: delicious! Bread, potato casserole, chicken skewer: meh. 70's atmosphere and the service was good, but slow kitchen (which they kept apologizing for). Baked Alaska was nothing more than chocolate cake, chocolate ice cream and meringue...kinda boring.

Maryellen W.

Yelp
Best place in town for sharing food! Both of these dishes were perfect for our after Barry Manilow concert celebration. The watermelon tomato salad was so fresh a perfect summer refresher. The bread pudding was the best I've ever had perfectly topped with raspberries. Loved the cinnamon.

Stephanie R.

Yelp
Great service. The food was good. The menu is limited, but tasty. Nice interior decor. Thane Maynard made the bench seating. Entrance was on the side of the building.

Bruce L.

Yelp
Amazing food, amazing service. Have been here multiple times and have never had anything we didn't love, food or drink. So glad it expanded. We like to branch out and pick different things, which is easy there as the menu changes seasonally. The watermelon with tajin was just so well balanced, such a treat. The tempura vegetable of the day - we get to a point where we just want to be surprised at what it is and just order without knowing. Really everything is so great.

Harmon Cove R.

Yelp
Great downtown niche restaurant in an alley on Court Street. Good place to go for small plates and excellent cocktails. Service is top notch friendly staff. The menu always includes a few unique items with good vegetarian options.

Darlene B.

Yelp
Perfect dinner to end my visit to the city. The restaurant was packed at 630pm on a Thursday. The most people I have seen in a restaurant all week. I enjoyed the vibe! The portions were much larger than I thought they would be at a tapas bar. The radicchio salad was simply divine. I had never had the combination of pear, radicchio and feta. It is definitely a combination to recreate at home. I asked the bartender for a blackberry bourbon lemonade and without fresh fruit, he made a stunning replication!

Daniel J.

Yelp
Wow! What an absolute joy to discover this gem of a restaurant. Our Thursday night has just been made very special indeed. Mid City is cozy, romantic, and with some of the best food and cocktails we've had in Cincy (and we've dined EVERYWHERE!). Small plates cooked to perfection. A menu that is so much more that you see at first glance. Simply wonderful. The classic cocktails are prepared as carefully and with the same lightness of touch as their food. Even better? Surprisingly reasonable prices. Five stars. A new favorite. We will be regulars.

Yelp
Mid city is a blessing and a pleasure, Cincinnati is grateful for it! The owner, Mike, runs some of the finest establishments in Cincinnati and that's a fact. The atmosphere, attitude, and quality of Midcity are all top notch and phenomenal. A Cincinnati Staple if you ask me. Don't pass on the mushrooms! They're incredible.

Yelp
Second time here for Father's Day and it was again fantastic. Shared half a dozen small plates, all delicious, plus one peanut butter burger (I think they called it a Skippy) and one crab burger. Both delicious and unique. This place is our Go To now for sure. Great staff, great ownership, easy parking ... it's a no-brainer. Enjoy!

Yelp
Came here for a mid day snack. Very cute place and nice decoration. The drinks are very delicious, and food is very creativity prepared. The servers are the best, super nice and tentative. Took one star off because the flavor of the two dishes I ordered are just okay.

Yelp
One of my new favorite spots downtown! The ambiance is cozy and welcoming. They serve many great small plates with some incredibly unique and delicious flavors. It is the perfect spot to share a few small plates with friends. The peanut butter burger, bok Choy, and mushrooms in foil have been some of my favorites!

Yelp
So we stopped in tonight and ordered the baguette w/ pickle butter, bok choy, sweet potato fries, potato casserole, burger, cheese sandwhich, artichokes, and tempura veggies (Brussels sprouts). It was all delcious but I feel AWFUL. I had to run to the restroom when I got home. The service was fantastic and it really was a cute place but it did not agree with my stomach AT ALL.

Yelp
Went here for a birthday. Service was great. Wine was great. Ambiance was nice. The food was very small portions. Shockingly small plates. They are over priced for what they are. The meatballs were too salty. The fried sandwich tasted good.

Yelp
Can't believe this place doesn't have more reviews. It's a hidden gem in the city with the best drinks I've had in cincy which isn't surprising since they are under the same ownership as Longfellow, my other favorite. However, it is the food that keeps us coming back regularly. They are seasonal dishes with slight twists that are incredible. We have had everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. The staff is super friendly, helpful and enjoyable. When we are showing friends around cincy we are sure to take them here.

Yelp
The interior photos look good but the the ones showing the outside area concern me. No one is walking around, Is the area safe?

Yelp
This is such a great addition to court street. This whole area is becoming so cool. But I can't say enough about Mid City. Awesome/friendly staff. Great drink selection. And the food is so crazy cool and tasty!

Yelp
Wonderful food! Excellent wine and cocktails! Cool, relaxed yet elevated ambiance. Absolutely top shelf service. This was our first time here, but we plan to make this a regular destination!
