The Best Restaurants Near the Las Vegas Convention Center for CES Week | Eater Vegas

"For breakfast or weekday brunch before hitting the conference room, this midday restaurant from the Herbs and Rye team serves upscale food and drink in a cool and airy interior. Go big with a seafood platter of lobster tail, prawns, and oysters or fill up with chorizo bacon crispy rice, shrimp and grits, or brioche French toast with berry compote and shaved foie. As one would expect from bartender Nectaly Mendoza, the cocktails are not to be missed with options like a briny Roquefort Martini, a fruity drink with pisco, orgeat, and passionfruit, and a frozen Irish coffee." - Janna Karel

Finally made it to the MIDDLE CHILD!. It did not disappoint. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious. My husband ordered the King prime rib and he was in heaven. We also had the web salad. The bread was amazing. I ordered their burger and it was very juicy. We will definitely be returning.

While on vacation we chose this place for brunch. What a great choice it was! Paula was our waitress. She was perfect. She was a friendly, young, pretty, attentive asian girl, very informative & made great suggestions. We had the bacon & egg sandwich, lobster & truffles benny, octopus carpacio & chesapeake bay benny. The food was ridiculously tasty. Next time I'm in Vegas I'll come back for sure.

Google
This place was incredible for brunch before going to the noon sphere. I can’t believe it wasn’t more crowded! This is the sister restaurant to the very popular Herbs and Rye. Like the stereotypical positive traits of a middle child - this place is social, ambitious, creative and open minded. They are not practicing here - they are showing off. The decor and open kitchen are a throw back to the art of cuisine while welcoming you into the experience. They have done it very well, so that you feel close to the kitchen and you can see the work the culinary team is putting in without the typical chaos of an exhibition kitchen. We made a reservation online and were sat immediately upon arriving. Paola was our server and she provided the best service we have had in Vegas in the past many visits. She had perfect timing and pace with every visit to our table. She was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food. When I found out this restaurant had only been open for one year, I just assumed she was a part of the opening team and likely a trainer for them. I was shocked to find out she’s only been there for three months. Goes to show what a difference it makes when you have someone that takes pride in what they do. If I was still running restaurants, I would have immediately tried to hire her away. As for the food - the culinary team here is obviously committed to the quality and craft of their food. I wouldn’t say that any one dish is outlandish from what you would expect to be on a carefully curated menu, but every dish has a twist - a flare - a little something extra that sets them off. Fun ingredients and unique takes on classics. We had the bone marrow biscuits and gravy - traditional Benedict - chicken and waffles - chorizo bacon crispy rice - and salt beef hash. Everything - yes everything - was money. I almost always make sure to try an eggs Benedict at a breakfast spot. It’s such a traditional dish, that it’s a great measuring stick against other restaurants. I have had others in the same class, but certainly not better (this is comparing traditional to traditional, not the wild creation Benedict style dishes). Not sure what some of the folks on here are talking about as far as cost. When three mediocre coffees and two pastries this morning at the casino cost us $82 (seriously) - this was an extremely welcome menu at a very appropriate price. Thank you to the entire Middle Child Team for the best brunch we have had in Vegas. It is clear you guys have something special going on there and you all care for it as a Team! TL:DR Get off the strip and try out Middle Child. If you’re lucky, you’ll get Paola. With five perfectly executed dishes tried, I’m pretty sure there isn’t a single one on the menu that will disappoint.

Google
Came here after finding out Herbs & Rye (sister restaurant) was completely booked for the tonight. Gave Middle Child a chance and we are SO glad to have found this place. Food is AMAZING. It is truly a meat lover's dream. We only ordered 2 appetizers, 1 english cut, 1 side between the two of us and came out more full than we anticipated. Serving sizes were perfectly generous. The total shocked me when the check came out. Mandy G was our server and she was absolutely phenomenal and made our experience even greater. She came out with a giant piece of cheesecake for my husband's birthday. We will definitely coming back with friends who visit us in town.

Google
Lovely place. Art deco. Fast service and seating for brunch. Wife got the rigatoni and I got the Chesapeake Benedict. The rigatoni came out hot, but the pasta was overcooked and for the price, not worth it. The Benny was okay. The egg was poached perfectly but the crab filling was different temperatures as I ate it. First bite was like warm. In the middle it got warmer. Then it got like warm again. Not consistant. Nice place but tooo costly.

Google
Such a delightful surprise 😍 We searched for a brunch spot that didn't have a wait. We walked right in. The atmosphere was bright and welcoming. The fresh squeezed orange juice was a real treat, and the food was absolutely delicious! Get the french toast!!!!

Google
The crab salad was just not great. And for $30 for lunch I expected more. The crab was mushy and it was overall flavorless. My bartender/server was very good. The music didn't match the decor. I just couldn't figure this place out.

Google
I was there this past weekend and the food was amazing. Not sure what went wrong with the other reviews but the chicken and waffles was soo good. The chicken was really juicy. We also got the steak sandwich with the horseradish sauce. Can’t wait to come back.

Yelp
Middle Child is, without a doubt, one of my favorite brunch spots in Las Vegas. Every time I dine here, the experience is nothing short of exceptional. The food is consistently outstanding--each dish is crafted with precision, cooked to perfection, and bursting with flavor. Beyond the incredible menu, the atmosphere is equally remarkable. The decor exudes a modern Great Gatsby elegance, striking the perfect balance between sophistication and comfort. Whether you're here for a casual brunch or a celebratory meal, the ambiance elevates every moment. The staff is another reason Middle Child stands out. Their warmth and attentiveness make every visit feel personal and welcoming, adding to the restaurant's charm. It's rare to find a place that excels in both food and hospitality, but Middle Child delivers on all fronts. If you're looking for a brunch spot that consistently goes above and beyond, this is it. I can't recommend it enough!

Yelp
Finally came here. I have high expectations because of Cleaver and Herb and Rye and I would say they did a pretty good job on the concept of their brunch menu. We ordered this octopus carpaccio with papaya salad, french toast is one big thick brioche bread with fresh fruits and corned beef hash omg there were good! We also ordered side of eggs and bacon. The only thing I personally did not like was the burned smell and taste of the bread that came with the corned beef hash maybe some people like it but I didn't. The ambiance is open contemporary beige and brown decor. They have a private room and open kitchen where you can see them prepared your food. Parking I think it will be fine they have a lot of space. Shout out to Demi for taking care of us! We will be back to try other stuff on the menu

Yelp
All the food was solid and yummy! The location is in a random strip mall with lots of parking, but the inside is very cute/chic and has all the vibes of modern new-American places. It was a little strange that they asked me for my name and phone number even though there wasn't a wait and we were seated instantly... The food: - French toast - decadent, delicious, fluffy - Beef Tartare - loved the parm on top. Perfectly salty - Steak Frites - also yummy but nothing stand out, would maybe pass next time given the price point - Crab Cake - YUM. Large lumps of crab -maracuya drink - sooo good! They kindly customized my drink to have half the amount of coconut which was perfect!

Yelp
Exceeded my expectations for an upscale brunch spot. Prices and portions were surprisingly reasonable relative to the concept. I personally went for the Soft Shell Crab sandwich. The fries-to-sandwich ratio was a bit ridiculous, but at least the fries were shoestring style and seasoned well. The portion of soft shell crab in the sandwich was solid. My party agreed that the Octopus Carpaccio was particularly notable, both aesthetically and from a taste perspective. Would recommend this to share. Papardelle was also impressive. Pasta was al dente and quality was on par with some of my favorite Italian spots in town. It also came with a very generous amount of mushrooms. The Chicken & Waffles were above replacement level but nothing too distinguishable from other places. Although the exterior is unassuming, the interior carries high Instagram potential as they did an excellent job with the art deco decor. Service was excellent.

Yelp
Middle Child is an absolute gem! The atmosphere is super cute and thoughtfully designed, making it perfect for everything from a casual brunch to a romantic date night or even special celebrations. The menu is full of standouts, but the Chorizo Bacon Crispy Rice is an absolute must-try--flavorful, crispy, and completely unique. Their raw bar is equally impressive, offering an amazing variety of fresh and high-quality options. Every plate feels like it's been crafted with care and creativity, with bold flavors and beautiful presentations. Whether you're a foodie or just looking for a memorable dining experience, Middle Child has so much to offer. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Middle Child for months and my schedule finally allowed me to visit during the hours they're open. My group shared the escargot, salt beef & hash, steak frites, and uni spaghetti. We loved the escargot (the pesto is delish!) and the steak frites, especially the fries as they were the perfect thinness. The cocktails are also quite strong and have good flavors. The uni spaghetti didn't have much uni, or salt. We ended up using the salt beef & hash to give the spaghetti some flavor. The dining room is nicely decorated but with how close the tables are to each other, it can get pretty loud and difficult to communicate within a table. Other than that, we had a great experience and would like to return when it's a bit less busy.

Yelp
My partner and I walked in on a Saturday afternoon and were fully expecting to wait through the brunch rush-- not so! We had the option of getting seated immediately at the bar, which we happily obliged. Our bartender was delightful, just an absolute angel. Sadly didn't get her name but appreciated that she took great care of us~~ UNI SPAGHETTI: The egg sauce is divine. Omg could eat a plate of this with just the egg sauce. We split this in half and ate up every last drop. Only two pieces of uni, unlike other Yelp pics tho-- wish there were more. CHICKEN & WAFFLE: Of course I order the chicken & waffle, it's my go-to comfort food. Super tender chicken + fluffy waffles = my happy place. Not too oily nor too sweet. The chili sauce adds a lively kick. Love the airy, light design and green accents. The art deco details are elegant and tastefully done. We enjoyed a peaceful afternoon here.

Yelp
I had brunch/lunch here recently & it was a really good experience. The servers were attentive & knowledgeable. The vibe is cool & parking was very convenient. Oh & the food was really good as well. I'll be back to try additional items on the menu.

Yelp
Sunday brunch - I really wanted to be blown away by this place as walking into a beautifully designed modern restaurant, I thought the food would have matched. We started with the bread basket, it wasn't as expected. Normally it consists of bread , small pastries such as croissant , muffins, etc served with jam and butter , their version is the same base pastry but shaped differently hence they al tasted the same . My main dish was pretty good , I had the crispy chorizo fried rice , my friends had the lobster Benedict ( which was overcooked hence chewy so it was returned ) and biscuit bone marrow gravy ( the first biscuit was too hard so it was returned but replaced eitj a much better one ) - it was tasty ! Clearly , there were some technical issues but the service and how it was addressed was more important and shows that as long as the restaurant actively listens to the feedback , the next time will be better ( hopefully ) .

Yelp
Great spot to swing by if you haven't yet. Wait wasn't too long when we arrived and the server was great. He explained the menu and gave us his recommendations. To start we had the crab cake that was really good. The egg sandwich is a must try. The thick cut bacon made it extra good, and they aren't stingy with it either. And the French toast was a perfect end to the meal. Fluffy, perfectly toasted with sweet honey on top and the whipped crème was perfect. Awesome spot, definitely recommend it

Yelp
I past Middle Child daily on my way to UNLV. I'd assumed it was a dinner restaurant when they're actually more breakfast/brunch. I stopped in before class and received such amazing service. I arrived at 3p and almost didn't go since I called ahead and was told they closed at 4 and seated the last guest at 3:30p. I didn't want to be a pain but the person I spoke with insisted I come in. I was seated straight away at the bar. The restaurant was quiet. I didn't get a good look around but it seemed well but well lit and nicely decorated. I believe there was music playing but it wasn't overbearing at all. The bartender (whom I later found was the co-owner) was such good company. He poured me up a glass of ginger beer to accompany my steak frite dish (which was phenomenal). Sadly I no longer have a photo of it but I'm definitely going to order it again! I'd definitely dine here many times again. It was such a chill experience.

Yelp
Wow I really enjoyed Middle Child! The ambience and overall experience was amazing from start to finish. We ordered cocktails and everything was delicious, my favorite was the iced coffee. It was the perfect balance between strong and sweet Service was great! The staff was so attentive and friendly. As for the food, all the appetizers we had were incredible. I would come here and seriously order only appys and be perfectly happy. We all agreed our main entrees were alright, but the appetizers were the real star of the show

Yelp
During this summer I joined some friends for Sunday brunch. I love that this restaurant is the "middle child" to Cleaver and Herbs and Rye. Upon walking in the decor is very bright and lots of natural light throughout the restaurant. I felt like I had stepped back into the 1970's with the mid century decor. We made a reservation and when we arrived, we were promptly seated. It was really loud inside at first but over time as tables thinned out it became more quiet and easy to speak to each other. Our server quickly arrived to talk with us about the menu and any questions we might have had. We decided to share our dishes with each other and this what we selected. We tried the French Toast with brioche, berry compote, shaved foie, truffle honey, whipped caramel creme fraiche. Next was Heirloom Tomato and Burrata with basil, grilled onions, crostinis, and salsa verde. Then came the Beef Tartare (one of my foodie friends orders this everywhere we go). We finished with the Chorizo Bacon Crispy Rice with bacon, spanish chorizo, deep-fried rice, carrots, green onions, macha chili oil, and a sunny egg. I really enjoyed trying all the dishes but the French Toast stole the show for me. In addition they offer some interesting and striking cocktails. What was strange was there was no prices listed next to each cocktail??? We decided to not order any drinks at this time. Overall, we had an enjoyable dining experience and I would return again to try more dishes.

Yelp
I stumbled onto this gem by accident and let me tell you, I hope accidents like this happen more often. I always thought middle children were the worst, from my experience with my brother, but nonetheless this was absolutely breathtaking. The decor alone had me, and I don't think it could get any better, I was wrong it got exceptionally better. The waitress was absolutely herself and I love that, giving me honest opinions on the food so I would order something that I could enjoy. The seafood platter was mouthwatering and I wish I could have more. I've had a hard time finding decent shrimp lately but I was very pleased with the prawns they served. The burger was a hit and I recommend it as well. Overall I recommend this place if you're in the mood for great food, amazing decor, stellar service, easy to get too location, and amazing photos.

Yelp
A great brunch spot located on Paradise Rd East of the strip . This location used to be Satay Thai. I love how the restaurant looks like. Welll lit and a separate dining room available for larger parties. When we first walked in, I didn't feel like the hostess was friendly at all. No smiles. However, as time passed, we asked if she could take a photo of us is when she smiled and was friendly. Food: Beef Tartare Bone Marrow Biscuits & Gravy Chicken & Waffle Chorizo Bacon Crispy Rice Washed down with a few cocktails. I had the Maracuya and my friends had the Espresso Martini (had to ask for another drink) and Tamarind Pimm's Cup. The bone marrow with biscuits was interesting combination but it worked. I enjoyed the beef tartare buy it also lacked salt. A bit bland so we added salt. The chicken & waffles with bacon were good. The dark meat is preferred because the white meat was extremely hard and overcooked. Hmm, maybe brine the chicken so it's tender. The highlight for me was the crispy rice. It was delicious. Thanks Demy for the great service and complimentary champagne. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious lunch at Middle Child! Everything was perfect from the ambiance and decor to the service and food. It was such a pleasant experience. I had the BLT. The brioche bread was perfectly toasted. It was so good. I loved the herb fries. I highly recommend coming here. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meals.

Yelp
I was genuinely surprised by how upscale this place turned out to be. From the moment we walked in, I was struck by the elegant decor, ambient lighting, and overall sophisticated vibe. It felt like we'd stepped into a hidden gem. For my meal, I decided to try something a bit different--the beet salad with bone marrow. The flavors were incredibly well-balanced; the earthy sweetness of the beets paired perfectly with the rich, melt-in-your-mouth bone marrow. It was a unique and delicious combination. My friend went for the classic cheeseburger, which was anything but ordinary--juicy, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere and service were fantastic, with staff who were attentive without being intrusive, and the whole setting was relaxed yet refined. It's definitely a place that exceeded our expectations, and I'm already looking forward to coming back to explore more of their menu!

Yelp
Had an amazing experience at Middle Child! The chicken and waffles were perfectly crispy and flavorful, and the Caesar salad was fresh and refreshing. To top it off, the pineapple mimosa was the perfect balance of sweet and bubbly. Great food, I'll definitely be back

Yelp
Had a great brunch at Middle Child! We were seated right away and offered bottled water. After reviewing the menu we decided to start with the broiled oysters. For an entree I had the surf and turf Benedict and subbed out the chips for fries. I thoroughly enjoyed everything. The broiled oysters were deliciously garlicky and the surf and turf was great. It had a bit too much hollandaise sauce for my liking, but good all the same. They also gave a huge portion of fries. I definitely feel like I got my money's worth!
google avatar

Yelp
Was able to check out the newest restaurant from the same group that does Herbs & Rye and Cleaver. This restaurant is a brunch concept and it's located in the same shopping center as Cleaver. The restaurant had the perfect brunch vibes with a bright and beautiful design. The service was great and our server was super helpful in making great selections! We got the following: Octopus Carpaccio (3/5) this dish was served with a papaya salad that I found to be really bland so I felt like the overall dish was lacking Charbroiled Oysters (5/5) this was my first time trying charbroiled oysters because I've never understood the draw of cooked oysters. But if this is how they always taste I am a HUGE fan. It was perfectly buttery and garlic and the back end still had that oyster flavor that k was looking for Uni Spaghetti (3/5) this dish was okay but felt like it was a little one dimensional. Very rich but not salty enough Bone Marrow Biscuits & Gravy (5/5) this was incredible and possibly one of the best dishes I have ever had!! Must try!! Chef's Burger (4/5) I expected the burger to be a bit sweet with the onion jam but it wasn't too sweet. I just wish the patty had slightly less char flavor. Otherwise it was a solid burger Excited to go back and try some other dishes that looked really good

Yelp
Our book club met here last month, the first time here for many of us and i think everyone really enjoyed it. The service was great and for a Saturday morning, it wasn't too busy. I loved how spacious it felt, even if crowded it doesn't seem like you'd be sitting on top of each other. I got the soft shell crab sandwich, the fries were delicious and the sauce on the crab was too. I would say there wasn't much crab though, after a couple bites i was left was bread and cabbage so that was a bit of a bummer but i did enjoy the bites i took.

Yelp
I didn't think it could get any better. We've been to Herbs and Rye and Cleaver which are both fantastic on their own. When we heard about Middle Child, we had to see for ourselves if the hype was real. THE HYPE IS REAL, guys!!!! Here's a breakdown of everything we ordered: Chorizo Crispy Rice Chargrilled Oysters Garbage Salad Crab Cake Escargot Bone Marrow and Biscuit gravy Roasted Chicken with mushrooms Fish and Chips BLT Sandwich EVEREYTHING was amazing but the star of the show was absolutely the Chorizo Crispy Rice! Everyone loved it so much, we ordered a second dish for the table! Our server, Ozzy was awesome! He had great personality, was very knowledgeable of the menu and we had a great conversation with him! Middle Child will ALWAYS be a stop on our Vegas adventures!

Yelp
So, I've been in debate with the rating I would give Middle Child and here's the reason why. I became privy of Middle Child and the official opening because I am a huge fan of Herb & Rye. However, they are entirely different in the sense of their flavoring with the food. My best friend ordered the hash and potatoes which had a piece of hair right on top and I ordered the steak frites, which did not come cooked to order. So, can you imagine both of our orders going back? Once we received the order, the hash and potatoes were not flavorful at all and the steak tasted like the cheapest piece of steak you could buy. So, I ended up ordering the French toast and I was disappointed yet again. I am not sure if I expected flavors from Herb & Rye but it was definitely not a place I personally would like to try again. I did not post the steak out of respect but I ordered the steak medium and it was nearly well done. I will commend them for their customer service and the ambiance was great. However, I seriously think they may need to revisit the selection of food and the flavors. Not only that but if it will be a place for brunch, there should at least be a mimosa somewhere on the menu...even if it is not bottomless.

Yelp
Amazing chicken and waffles! Service was awesome, for a table for 1 the ambiance for music and minimalistic style was great would come back again

Yelp
This restaurant offers a wide variety of seafood dishes, steaks, pastas, and sandwiches. They also have an extensive raw bar selection. The menu includes something for everyone, from those who want a light and healthy meal to those who are looking for something more decadent. I would recommend the following dishes, chefs burger. Never had a black hamburger bun. The soft shell crab was also pretty tasty. Their sandwiches or burger comes with either chips or fries. Both chips and fries were a lot to finish. The service is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is upscale and casual. This place is great to hang out with friends. There were six in our party. They can accommodate big groups. This place I heard just opened about 5 months ago. We did a reservation for Sunday brunch. It was pretty packed. I do recommend reserving your table.

Lewell L.

Yelp
Me and my wife tried this spot today and were both impressed. The place has a very welcoming atmosphere and the place was clean. The service was excellent and the food servers are great. The servers are very helpful with the menu and give recommendations. The food came in quick and great presentation. Food has great flavors and balance. I will definitely come back to this place.

Yelp
What a great brunch spot away from the craziness of the strip. I like how the establishment is very open and not overly crowded with tables on-top of each other. The menu isn't overly busy with food options but rather enough that will cater to most. They do not offer a children's menu. Each dish is perfectly plated. Not only do they look delicious but they taste delicious too. The drinks are well crafted as well without a heavy hand. If you're fortunate enough to have Debbie as your server, she will take great care of you. She did an outstanding job making sure we had everything we needed without asking. She was always one step ahead.

Yelp
We finally had the opportunity to try Middle Child. Being frequent patrons of its siblings, we were excited and had high expectations. Brightly lit, retro vibe, with palm tree and gold touches, very cool atmosphere. Open kitchen, cool to see the finishing touches on our dishes. The menu had a bit of everything, lots of seafood options. We ordered the Chorizo Bacon Crispy Rice, Chicken and Waffle, and the Surf and Turf Benny. We also ordered some bloody Mary's. There is definitely room for opportunity on all of the dishes we ordered. The crispy rice had all the flavor, but lacked in execution. It had a similar texture to reheated fried rice. The Surf and Turf hollandaise was probably the best I've ever had, but the English Muffin was incredibly thin and also soaked in the juice from the steak, which made it unappetizing. The chicken on the chicken and waffles dish was incredibly juicy and well seasoned, but the breading had a bit too much flour. Waffles are hard to keep warm and crisp, so understandable that we got just that. Lastly our bloody Mary's were had excess Worcestershire. Service was wonderful, water glasses were always full. Demi (I believe that's her name) was wonderful. I want to give Middle Child multiple opportunities and am excited to try other dishes

Yelp
Been taking all my Vegas visitors to dinner at Cleaver since forever, and now I'll be taking them to Middle Child for brunch/lunch. I loved my first time, I'm certain I'll love it for years to come. Went for a leisurely girls lunch and enjoyed every single minute. The place is light and airy, beautiful art deco style. It was a bit less than half full at 1:30pm on Tuesday. Not quiet or stuffy, the atmosphere was joyful, with cheerful laughter coming from tables across the room. Superb service from entry to exit. Our server was sweet and charming, she had great recommendations and was well versed on every menu item we asked about. We sampled an assortment of cocktails and salads (added chicken) along with the steak frites. The side of chicken was great, which isn't something one usually pays much attention to. Steak was cooked perfectly and the fries were delicious, even long after they'd gone cold. The Burrata with the salsa verde (not pesto) was WOW! And the espresso martini may be the best in town. I endeavor to try them allll! Just go, go now! Or as soon as they're open (shame it's only open until 4pm).

Yelp
What a fantastic experience! The environment was so serene and airy. The waitstaff were incredibly friendly and attentive. I absolutely loved the chorizo bacon crispy rice; it was simply delicious. The sunny side egg on top added a perfect touch to the rice's crispiness. The seasoning on the chorizo and bacon was spot on, making it the highlight of my meal. Now, about the French toast--I personally didn't enjoy it as much. & I'm a French toast girly. It's actually my favorite breakfast item. But, this French toast was quite sweet and the berry compote on top overwhelmed the flavor. The compote also made the French toast a bit soggy. Overall, though, it was a lovely experience, and I can't wait to return to try those oysters.

Yelp
Newest brunch/lunch restaurant by the same owners of Herbs & Rye and Cleaver. We stopped in on Saturday morning shortly after 10:00 without reservations and were seated right away. However they do recommend reservations. We went with sandwiches. The Iberico & Mortadella and the BLT. Both were huge and came with fries. I would have liked another option for a side like fruit ($6 extra) or salad instead of fries. Maybe that's something that'll change in the future. Anyways, everything was delicious! Always in search of the perfect BLT and this one is right at the top of the list. Service was fantastic. Very attentive. Definitely on the pricey side for a casual spot but delicious.

Yelp
No wonder I liked this place, it's a sister restaurant of Herbs and Rye, Cleaver, etc. It's located in the same shopping center as Cleaver and easy to spot. Came in for breakfast to try it out with a couple of friends. My friend made us a reservation, though it was pretty quiet for a Monday morning anyway. When you walk in, the inside is so beautiful. Very light and airy, just as I would want a breakfast place to feel. The staff here was phenomenal, and we were so well taken care of. They shared with us their favorites and gave us plenty of time to look over the menu. There really is something for everyone. They have a good variety of eggs benedict, but then also have other breakfast items as well as pasta and sandwiches if you want more of a lunch. I ordered a lavender latte to start with oat milk. It was delightful. To eat, I ordered the french toast, which was more than enough for me. I'm not a huge breakfast person, and especially if it's something on the sweeter end, I tend not to eat too much of it. This french toast was on a delicious brioche bread and was topped with berries and whatnot. The whipped cream served on the side was sooo good, too. My friend also let me try her chicken and waffles and those were delicious, too! I'd definitely recommend this spot for a breakfast with friends and family. They have some areas that look like they would be great for private dining or a smaller event if you wanted to host there. I would definitely come back here again.

Yelp
Yelp Review 2024 #85: I've met several weird middle children. They're often described as "neglected, have to compete for attention..." But Middle Child located on Paradise and Corporate Drive (between Flamingo and Twain) is one middle child I like. We had a brunch reservation and got seated right away. The interior has an art deco vibe. The menu is simple but full of deliciously interesting things. It was so hard to choose because everything seemed good. It came down to what menu item do they have that's not on every single restaurant's brunch menu? They have crab claws, oysters, shrimp cocktail, lobster tails, seafood platter, salads, tuna, octopus, crab cake, escargot, mussels, beef tartare, benedicts, sandwiches, chicken and waffles, French toast, hash, steak frites, pasta, desserts, etc. Bone Marrow Biscuits and Gravy: Boat-cut bone, biscuit, country gravy. The biscuit was a cross between the flatness of a pancake with the taste and texture of a biscuit. The gravy and the bone marrow combo was superb. There should be more gravy. 4/5 Lobster and Truffle Benny: Lobster tail, sauteed spinach, shaved seasonal truffle, Hollandaise, truffle oil, poached egg on an English muffin, served with breakfast potatoes. I cannot speak highly enough about this dish. It's good to the very last drop and morsel. The breakfast potatoes are leaps and bounds better than all breakfast potatoes. They're well-seasoned, crispy, crunchy but fluffy on the inside. You can dip them in ketchup or the Hollandaise. The lobster was a nice portion but slightly overcooked. The truffle oil flavor was faint. But I still enjoyed it. 5/5 Frozen Champurrado: There are 2 kinds of champurrado: Filipino and Mexican. The Filipino version is like a chocolate rice porridge. The Mexican version is a cinnamon hot chocolate thickened by masa. This is the Mexican version but frozen and put in the blender. It is topped with Oreos, whipped cream and 2 small chocolate filled churros. You have to eat this with a spoon instead of drinking it. 3.5/5 Our server was a young man (I can't remember his name) who carried himself well and was attentive. Bring a jacket. It's quite cold here. We're already planning on making another reservation. I can't wait to try so many other things!

Yelp
Excited for this place to finally open! Just went in last weekend for brunch with some gal pals. First impression was this place is pretty - also pretty loud. Don't expect to easily catch up with friends here, even the server had a hard time hearing us. Hopefully they improve that soon. The mid century modern decor vibe is strong here and I love that they still have a diner feel. Menu is fairly large and has a good mix of modern and classic dishes. We tried the French Toast (with shaved foie), Heirloom Tomato & Burrata (with a salsa verde instead of the typical pesto), Beef Tartare (because I'll get that everywhere I see it), and the Chorizo Bacon Crispy Rice (largely due to the many positive reviews). Prices were reasonable, think ~$20/ea, but they do need to add cocktail pricing to the menu - weird that it's blank. The crispy rice was solid, and not as greasy as expected, but they should really add the second egg instead of suggesting it - one is not sufficient for the dish. Also odd to only offer one egg for the Benedict, half the typical portion, which put us off ordering it. The beef tartare was really fresh but needed a little something extra, and the crostini could be a bit thicker so they hold up better. I like the idea of coming back to share several things - the octopus carpaccio and soft shell crab sandwich are on my list for next time.

Yelp
I had wonderful brunch here with a friend. The ambiance is nice, the service is great, and the food is clever and tasty. I had the wagyu burger which was great alongside a heaping helping of shoestring fries. I will definitely add this place to my brunch rotation.

Yelp
The restaurant is very chic and classy. I felt under dressed but they still treated me as a customer. The menu was very big or had options but I ended up getting the egg Benedict. It was odd that it only came with a half of an English muffin and a ton of fries. I wished they had breakfast potatoes or has browns. Although the fries were delicious.

Yelp
I love the decor and open kitchen concept. Hostess took us to our table right away and soon after someone was at our table to take our drink order and provide us water. Our waitress was very informative and gave us recommendations We started with the Stone Crab and it wasn't the best. Not cause the flavor was bad but they didn't cut them enough and it was A LOT of work and shells flying. I'm used to having the meat pretty much all exposed; very minimal work. The chicken and waffles were good. The chicken had good flavor and the waffles were fluffy. My husband had the bone marrow gravy and biscuits and it was good. Very decedent! My husband ordered a side of eggs and we also tried the herbed fries. Our friend had the French Toast and it was also very good. It looks rich but it was not very sweet and had great flavor. Overall a great experience!

Yelp
Middle Child has been on my list so I'm glad I was able to spend a few hours with my fellow Yelp Elites to check out this spot and have nice lunch. Lunch on a Sunday was not busy. Plenty of parking in front and on the side. Upon arrival, a cute, clean, minimalistic and aesthetically pleasing restaurant. Tables are spread out well so you're not next to each other. It does get a bit loud so it's hard to hear the soft spoken waitress. We ordered a few cocktails and plates to share. Best move to do it family style so we got to try a variety. Fried rice - very flavorful and the 2 eggs on top that you mix into the rice, subtle add to the wonderful flavor. Beef tartare - amazing flavors. Sliced toast pieces were just perfect. Almost a crouton texture. To me, I needed a dash of salt but no complains. Bone marrow - loving the fattiness that's oven baked. Chicken & waffle - I should have ordered dark meat only. Love the option of the bacon or eggs on the side to add to the dish. Although they do not provide anything for birthdays, our waitress did bring out some bubbly for us to enjoy, on the house. Demi was great. Service was consistent and always made sure we were ok during the time we were there. Note: do not bring outside drinks/food. I bought a starbucks drink just before arriving and was holding it while checking in. I was told I had to finish it or toss it. While I was still waiting for my other guests, I opt to sit in their foyer. The gal at the check in came out shortly and let us know the table was ready and then repeated I had to finish my drinks or toss it. We then took our time coming in cuz I'll finish my drink that I paid for. Although I can understand but I didn't need to be told 2x. Overall, a nice dining experience.

Yelp
I was so excited to be in Vegas when this place opened and it definitely did not disappoint. We stopped by on a Monday around 1pm for brunch and were seated in the side room. Decor is great and I love that each space had different flooring and look. Dean was our culinary tour guide and he gave us details on everything we were interested in. Here is what we had: 1) frozen Irish coffee: the ice was flaky and the drink was flavorful. Yummy until the last drop! 2) traditional eggs benny: the hollandaise was light and flavorful. Potatoes were crispy which was great. I dislike soggy potatoes and thankfully these were crispy and full of flavor. 3) chorizo crispy fried rice: show stopper people. Hands down my favorite dish. I was trying to figure out how to take some home with me on the plane! My only gripe is that it is recommended to have an extra egg on top. If that is the usual recommendation it should probably just be a part of the dish instead of an extra priced add on. I'm so excited to put this brunch spot in my regular rotation. Thanks to the Herbs and Rye family for this new and yummy spot!

Yelp
First off, kudos to Dean for being a wonderful server! He was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. He made our experience unforgettable. Katie was also super sweet! Shout out to her for making our lunch that much more enjoyable. She was so kind. We were seated in the side room which had quite the echo and the party next to us was quite loud. Honestly, once they left, it was great but since it was slow when we came, i could only imagine how loud it would be in there when crowded. Frozen Irish coffee was delectable! Dean told us to drink it from the glass (versus the straw) to get all of the flavors at once. He was not wrong; yes i tried it from the straw. Sweet but with a good coffee flavor. I loved the crunch of the ice chips. Would highly recommend! The charbroiled oysters $31 MP weren't a home run but definitely a double. Maybe some more garlic or butter to add to the flavor. I wish there was a sourdough bread roll to dip into the shells after eating the oysters. Just my humble opinion; I'm no chef. The traditional Benny $15 was a pleasant surprise. This was going to be our "light" entrée but it really held its own. We did expect two pieces of Benedict but just got one. That being said, it was delicious. The English muffin had a crispy top on it which paired well with the cooked Canadian bacon and poached egg. The sauce itself was amazing and mixed well with the crispy breakfast potatoes. The chorizo bacon and crispy rice $17 was the star of the show! We took our server's suggestion of ordering double the eggs to allow the yolk to be soaked up by the fried rice. The mixture of the chorizo, onions, carrots and rice were ::chefs kiss:: Do yourself a favor and order this flavorful dish!

Yelp
Attended the Grand Opening. Honestly, I thought for a grand opening, they would have discounts, balloons, games & prizes, because it was the "Grand Opening.". :( It seemed like a normal day. Even though, there were no "extra" things for the grand opening, it was still a nice restaurant. Great food & the service was great too. Specifically, the managers, Debbie & Herani were very attentive to our table. Shot out to them. Would I dine here again? Yes! Will consider coming back with more people.

Yelp
This is the new sister brunch restaurant to Cleaver (which is my absolute favorite) and they did not disappoint. I don't really go to brunch anymore except for special occasions, and I'm glad I took a chance on this place for my boyfriend's birthday. The oysters were delicious and a perfect pairing to the martini. The house spritz was very refreshing and I was good with one (decent portion/drink size). The surf and turf Benny was good although I wish there was more protein in the dish. The soft shell crab sandwich was a little sweet thanks to the tamarind sauce which I personally enjoyed! The staff were attentive and personable and our server Maya was the best. Ambience inside was classy and elegant, art deco /Gatsby vibes. Will be coming back

Yelp
Service? Spot on. Food? Delicious, 10/10 for sure. Ambiance? Just right. Kitchen has an open view. Prices are decent not bad for what you're getting and the service. Great spot for lunch or breakfast.

Yelp
Went here for brunch with the girls, love the simple decor and concept of the restaurant. There's plenty of parking in the lots. The host was alright, maybe it was her off day. The waitress was attentive and helpful in helping us decide what we were gonna eat. We ordered a few drink the espresso martini was a bit bitter for me but wax able to switch it out for something similar which was good. The beef tartare was good, the chicken and waffle were good but the white meat was a bit dried. The bone marrow biscuit and gravy was good. The chorizo rice was goood and crispy. We will be back

Yelp
It's always exciting to see new restaurants pop up in the Valley and I'm happy to say this is one worth visiting. We've always been fans of Herbs & Rye and Cleaver so when we heard about Middle Child, we were definitely looking forward to taste what their menu had to offer. Our servers were all so very nice and attentive. First, the restaurant is a visual treat. Love the tile work, the wallpaper and the color scheme. Everything was so aesthetically appealing which heightened our dining experience (I'm a sucker for good aesthetics). Second, the menu sounded all around mouth watering. I wish we had more room in our bellies to sample more but I'm sure we'll be back to try the other items we didn't get to order this time around. My husband liked the Vecna which is their version of a frozen Bloody Mary/Michelada, he says it was very refreshing and tasty. I ordered an Iced Lavender Latte which was also very good. For food, we started with the Charbroiled Oysters & Crab Cakes-- yum! Then we decided to share the Soft Shell Crab Sandwich and Lobster & Truffle Benny. Both were chefs kiss (the sandwich was def our favorite of the two). And for dessert, we ordered the Flan Pudding which is on the sweeter side for my taste but my husband thoroughly enjoyed it. We're already talking about when we'll make another visit. Would definitely recommend as we had such a pleasant experience our first visit.

Yelp
Middle Child's got it all right! The food is amazingly great, the service was top notch and the ambiance was great! This is a wonderful place to go if you are looking for place to take your family, friends, and drinking buddies. Great cocktails and the food is incredible! You can't go wrong. Try the Surf and Turf Benny and the French Toast! And if you need that morning glass of orange juice...the "Garibaldi" is a winner.

Yelp
FINALLY after months of waiting to get here but on the FIRST Monday of the NEW YEAR I've made it to Middle Child!!!! This establishment is the sister restaurant to the famous Herbs & Rye & Cleaver. Cleaver is located in the same plaza where both are easy accessible to find & stand out. My boyfriend and I had made a reservation using the Yelp app to have a brunch date together today. Please save yourself the time by making a reservation online for your party because it's definitely the easy route to take to ensure your needs are met. It was a decent crowd for a Monday afternoon and the service from Demi was absolutely amazing! I absolutely LOVED the decor and aesthetic of this restaurant which made it bright, natural, and cozy all into one. My boyfriend and I had the same taste buds in what we wanted for our appetizers and entrees so we made sure to try it all & it did NOT disappoint. Collectively, we tried and had the Steak & Salad, Crispy Chorizo Bacon Rice, Crab Cake with oysters and charbroiled oysters! The flavors and presentation of each meal was up to par and tasted even better. I truly believe it was worth the wait for this long! I appreciated the manager at the time came by greeted us and asked how we were doing. I do see myself coming back in the near future to Middle Child to enjoy a delicious meal whether it'll be with family, friends, or my boyfriend. I highly suggest if you're in the area of Paradise and Flamingo plus looking for an excellent breakfast/brunch then this is YOUR turn to check it out for yourself just know it'll be worth every penny and time well spent!
