What To Eat At Market 57

"Mijo is a Mexican spot run by the team behind the wildly popular Fan Fan Doughnuts in Brooklyn, but there are no doughnuts on the menu. There are, however, really good churros, served with either warm chocolate or caramel. Also, paletas and chamoyadas. Dessert is our favorite thing to get here, but the tacos and flautas are both just serviceable. We just wouldn’t choose them over other savory dishes in the market." - carina finn koeppicus

Mijo - Review - Chelsea - New York - The Infatuation

"Mijo is a Mexican spot in Chelsea's Market 57, and it's run by the team behind the wildly popular Fan Fan doughnut shop in Brooklyn. There are no doughnuts on the menu here, but there are really good churros, served with either warm chocolate or caramel. They also have paletas and chamoyadas. The tacos and flats are only serviceable, so we'd suggest just heading here for dessert if you're at the food hall." - Carina Finn

No Atmosphere. The servers are very friendly. The taco are fresh and hot. They could use a bit more meat for the price. Lots of GF options

We got the mushroom carnitas taco WITH the cheese crust and it was SOOOO GOOD. Every part of the taco was so delicious from the tortilla to the salsa and they had fresh chopped onions. Estefania, who took our order, was SO SWEET and professional. She noticed it was my birthday as well and was overall so genuine and kind. The manager also gifted us 2 churros to celebrate as well! The vibe in the food hall is great! And has great views and seating.

Tacos sold for 5$ and 6$ and got a trio for 15$. I ordered on a busy Saturday afternoon and got them in 15m, I was disappointed by the lack of salsa and the tiny portions, no double tortilla either. The pollo taco had good flavor but because it was so tiny I ate it in 2 bites, the steak taco was great and decently sized too, I really missed the taco de gallo and green sauce though, the shrimp taco was the one I liked the most, the shrimp was perfectly cooked, the sauce was just a tiny bit spicy which was neutralized by the avocado and the mashed beans which I liked, a lot of good flavors, it was a great shrimp taco.

The food was good taste wise, but pricey and small portions. The carne asada tacos are $6 each! It has one piece of meat and one very thin tortilla that kept ripping. The raspberry-hibiscus soft serve was fairly good, quite tangy. It didn’t go very well with the caramel, however (my fault). A small cone was $5.50. There is plenty of seating in this pier, and an outdoor section that I would have enjoyed if the weather wasn’t so hot and persistent. I would come back to the pier, but not necessarily to this restaurant.

Been 5 times to Mijo and they never disappoint! There is always something new to try and kids LOVE flautas! I can’t miss a costra every time I go! Guac is pretty good (and a good portion!) and the Best is having a paleta after the meal and of course running into the owners who are both the best!

Delicious food, got to try a costra for the first time, a taco with a crispy fried cheese disc on top, heaven. The food took a while to make but the staff was nice and we definitely want to come back. Great guac!

Do not order here, had the worst quesadilla ever. It did not even look like a quesadilla and I was still hopeful it would taste atleast "normal". It tasted so bad that I will think twice before eating another quesadilla.

I wander how much I need to spend in hospital after eating all this oil... All there dishes are very oily...like extravaganza oily.... Have it if you don't care about your health.
