"The bread at this tiny order-at-the-window restaurant is so damn good, they named the whole restaurant after it. They use Japanese white bread dough to make puffy donuts and cinnamon rolls that people line up for, especially on weekend mornings. Go ahead and get in line with them for a superior breakfast. Chase your pastry with the Milk & Honey toast that combines stracciatella, honey, and cracked pink peppercorns, or the sausage and chilled jammy egg biscuit that uses meat from Neese’s, a local family business that’s been making sausage the same way for over a century. The restaurant has only a handful of outdoor tables, so be prepared to either wait for one or make your own seat on the curb." - tess allen

Milkbread Review - Plaza Midwood - Charlotte - The Infatuation

"When Kindred first opened in Davidson in 2015, the cult-favorite dish was milk bread —  pans of golden rolls based on a Japanese baking technique. It was such a hit, it became the inspiration for the Kindreds’ breakfast and brunch cafe, Milkbread, first in Davidson and now at their stylish reimagining of the classic Central Avenue Dairy Queen in Plaza Midwood. Customers can sit down at the Davidson location, while the Plaza Midwood spot is a walk-up counter with limited outdoor seating. The doughnuts and cinnamon rolls, along with the crispy chicken sandwiches, prove that Milkbread has staying power." - Timothy DePeugh, Kathleen Purvis

Google
I’ve been eager to try Milkbread since opening, the timing coordinated today. The associates were friendly and kind. I’m a bit disappointed in the food. The chicken biscuit was inferior to others, especially at the price point ($9). The biscuit was dry, hard, fell apart with first bite. The chicken was tasty and cooked properly. The cinnamon roll was reheated longer than it should, making it chewy and tough. Great taste and satisfying in that regard. Quite honestly, at the $6, I thought it might be a tad larger, thicker. I’m comparing this purchase to other choices nearby….. it will be a tough call on a decision to return.

Google
I love sitting outside at this cute take-out spot! The chocolate pistachio latte was so good! They also have the best sweet treats-the cupcake and especially the frosting on the cinnamon rolls are my favorite!

Google
Cute building, but too many cars/on too busy of a street for me. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant and it took a while to get (it wasn’t busy) It was small, but warm and tasty, if not aesthetic. They do a brisk pick up/take out business.

Google
Bring a fork to eat your “biscuit sandwich”. Pic is of me picking it up out of the container. Felt as though I should show it to the lady in the pickup window asking for nothing. Between the gross attitude and her disgusting cow bar sticking through her nostrils over food she is handing out I definitely will not be going back. She made me lose my appetite faster than the biscuit crumble.

Outdoor Seating alongside road ! Nice Mac n cheese ! Crowded ! We tried following :- 1. Mac n Cheese (Veg)(No Egg) - 5/5 Must try item 2. Cold Coffee - 3/5 3. Fries - Good

Google
I ordered the "whole-ish" salad to go. When I got home, the salad didn't have any dressing, it didn't have any of the "nut crunch". Look at the menu photo vs what I ended up with. It's too bad - Milkbread seems to have taken a lot of care with creating a nice vibe and detailed decor, but each time I go the food is less than what it used to be. I won't be going back.

Google
Location is cute, staff friendly! Portions were okay, however, the chicken was very tough and the Whole Bowl was drenched in whipped tahini which took away the texture and flavors of the entirety of the dish. The fried cauliflower was extremely oily as well. This was an expensive first time visit for a subpar experience.

Google
With an extensive menu of coffee, bowls, sandwiches and salads - Milkbread is a must try. The new heirloom BLT sandwich is a 10/10!

Yelp
Milkbread has croissants and bagels now?! That was news to me so I had to go try them. My partner had the ham and cheese croissant. The filling is baked in as opposed to layered on like a sandwich. He liked it but said he would prefer a little more flavor from the mustard. On the other hand, I thought the turkey sandwich on everything bagel was tasty but had too much mustard. It's the kind that goes straight to your nose. The bagel itself was quite good and the rest of the toppings complemented each other nicely - turkey, avocado, pepper jack cheese. The matcha was prepared well - earthy with a slight sweetness. However, the cup was only half full so I felt like I only got 50% of my money's worth. Ordered pickup through the app which was easy and ready on time. Took the food to go but noticed that they did have heaters setup for the outdoor seating area.

Yelp
OMG some of the best biscuit and chicken sandwiches ever! So chill and relaxing Excellent flat white I will be back!

Nina Q.

Yelp
A little niche, but one of my favorites. Going on a warm fall day for some tasty breakfast/brunch will be one of your best decisions this season. Coffee and food is delicious, service is friendly and fast. It can get busy and they have run out of pastries before by late afternoons, so just be mindful when you come by. They're popular for a reason!

Kaitlin B.

Yelp
I feel they've gone downhill. I had always had great experiences, but got dinner tonight and our bowl was wonderful but the cinnamon roll was like a hockey puck. I did appreciate the easy online ordering and pickup.

Alexandra K.

Yelp
I had an alright time at milk bread. I got the hot dip, a cinnamon roll and a cappuccino. The cinnamon roll was pretty bad I def do not recommend. The frosting was like grainy? And didn't melt at all when spread on the cinnamon roll because the cinnamon roll was given to me cold and it was really tough.. The cappuccino was tiny tiny and kinda meh. The hot dip was ok!

Danielle L.

Yelp
Ordered delivery and it hit the spot. Got chicken tenders, chicken bites, kale Caesar salad and a biscuit. The only item I didn't really enjoy was the kale Caesar, it's made with baby kale and it was very soggy. This restaurant group also LOVES crumbles on everything and they always end up tasting like your eating sand with your salad/meal... it's not appetizing. The chicken and sauces were great though and the biscuit was delicious!!

Kathryn E.

Yelp
By far the BEST plant based nuggets I've had!! They're moist, well seasoned, and have a great texture. Sauces were great too. Not usually a fan of crinkle cut fries, but there's no denying Milkbread does them right. The bowl was not my personal favorite- the flavors are slightly unusual in combination. Would prefer to try a different one next time. The staff were friendly and our food came out quickly. This location only offers outdoor seating, so take note of the forecast before dining onsite. The umbrellas provide some nice shade, but packed up early before a downpour. Will absolutely visit again!

Puja P.

Yelp
Normally I don't get the avocado toast, but I was surprised with how filling it was! I thought it was tasty with the everything seeds placed on top. A good vegetarian friendly breakfast meal if you're on the go.

Reana K.

Yelp
I've heard so much about this place from my brother that when I came back to visit him, I thought why not give it a try! We came here after strolling through the city and ordered chicken sandwiches. I was a little thrown off with how much mayo was on it even though I asked for light mayo. I didn't want to make a big deal out of it so I still ate it. The chicken for some reason didn't taste as fresh, but it was okay. Maybe next time I visit my brother, I'll try the wrap instead. That was what I was originally going to get too. The fries were really delicious I must admit! I did like the ambiance and that we got to sit at the outside seating.

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
Solid salads and good coffee. Service was super quick too. The location I was at was in a work building. So it definitely was a quick pick up food to go situation.

Jessica F.

Yelp
Been a couple of times and very much enjoyed it Their heirloom blt *seasonal is so good... legit prob the best BLT I've eaten. Also was a big sandwich and could have split it. Breakfast was also excellent and the milkbread cinnamon roll is a favorite.

Juliana D.

Yelp
Cute little walk up place in plaza Midwood. I ordered the small chicken bites and a ranch. They were pretty good. They tasted similar to chick fil a's but much crispier. I loved the ranch as well. The small came with a lot of bites which was great. I also tried the milk chocolate donut and the cinnamon roll. The donut was good. I loved the cinnamon flavor of the donut itself. The cinnamon roll was amazing! I had it warmed up and they gave a lot of frosting as well!

Melanee D.

Yelp
I was that mom today and I'm not ashamed! As usual, one of my kids had an event in the area so I by to grab a bite. My son is a donut fan so I figured I'd grab him a little something sweet to eat too. Ordered the chicken biscuit, fries and the beinets (for my son). Well, I will just say he got nothing! The service was wonderful! Young man at the window was warm, friendly and helpful! I knew they had me with the fries. I LOVE crinkle cut! These were hot, crispy and seasoned perfectly! They got gone before I thought to take a picture. Thought I'd take one beinet, just to taste while it was warm. Don't know how many were in the bag, but I ate them all. Had no room for the chicken biscuit but I did take a bite. It was good. The chicken breast was crispy and seasoned well. All of the portions were generous. Definitely got my money's worth. My only complaints were that my biscuit fell apart so I will have to take my sandwich home and use a fork and knife to finish (no biggie). And the coke had an aftertaste of the cleaning solution. Probably would have done well with another rinse theough. At least I know they cleaned it All in all, they earned a come back. Which is not an easy thing here in Charlotte.

Shay N.

Yelp
Stopped by this cutie place for a grab and go coffee before a long walk. This place is so authentically pleasing and so clean / well kept! I got the iced caramel latte and it was one of my favorites I've had in charlotte so far! The service was fast and everyone was very friendly. I can't wait to come back soon and try the food!

Courtney S.

Yelp
I'm late to the game, but I love Milkbread! I've been going there for coffee and pastries, but today I tried the food for the first time. I will also say that they have a phenomenal strawberry matcha, and they're one of the few places that don't classify it as a "seasonal" drink - thank goodness!!! Please don't change this. Your customers (including many people I've spoken to LOVE this). The grain bowl I tried today was amazing. I wanted something light and fresh, and it lived up to that easily. The vegetables were freshly cut and deliciously crisp, and the crispy rice was great with the puree they line the bowl with. Just overall a wonderful flavor pallet, and a great vegetarian dish. I mean who doesn't love a jammy egg thrown in there?! Can't wait to explore more on their menu. Headed back another day and tried the "whole bowl" but the grain bowl prevailed when compared to the whole bowl.

Yelp
Came for national donut day! I've been wanting to come for aaaaawhile and was so happy to do a quick stop through for a free donut. The person working the window was so helpful and kind when I was being really indecisive about what to choose. I ended up going with a classic glaze to test out the basics. Did not disappoint. I love the decor and overall vibe. There's a few seats outside if you want to stick around enjoy your snack or meal on the spot. I will definitely come back and grab a chicken sandwich, because I keep seeing them and I must try it!

Maurice V.

Yelp
Milkbread is a VIBE. The location is quaint and on a nice summer day it is great to sit outside and enjoy the company of others while eating some delicious food! I always get the OG chicken sandwich and love it. The portions are a bit small for the relative price, but to me it's worth it. The cinnamon rolls are to DIE for--absolutely incredible, especially with the cream cheese frosting on top. The service has never been an issue either--all the workers are kind and never seem to have an attitude or bad day. OH and the sweet tea lemonade!!

Henry L.

Yelp
If you like a good chicken sandwich while still wanting to feel okay after, this is the place to try! Crispy chicken was yummy and tasty. Fries were good and the cauliflowers were delicious! Must get. The service is fast as you order at the restaurant and they call up your order number. The ambiance is relaxing as it is outside.

Brittanie H.

Yelp
This place is overhyped, for sure. I've been here twice, and both times, I left wondering why I waited in line so long for what I got. The ambiance is outdoor vibes, much like an elevated Sonic, for lack of a better reference. The first time, I ordered a doughnut and a matcha to hold me over until a lunch date, and both were just average and certainly not worth the 15-minute wait. A few months later, I decided to try again. I came in person, and the line was so long that I placed an online order. I ordered the chicken biscuit, cinnamon roll and a matcha. After waiting too long, I was utterly underwhelmed. The biscuit fell apart immediately. I mean, I picked up the sandwich out of the box, and the biscuit crumbled on the first touch. The biscuit was tasty, but I didn't have enough of it. The chicken was perfect on the edges and dry in the middle and needed more salt/a longer brine. It was truly saddening. After I choked down the chicken and reassembled the biscuit crumbs, I hoped the cinnamon bun would be better. I was wrong. The cinnamon bun tasted like the most fermented yeast roll--like on the verge of spoilage---and indeed lacked the cinnamon filling and flavor. I had one bite and thought I was drinking an undeveloped IPA, which is not my goal when ordering a cinnamon roll. Let me be clear and say I've also had sourdough cinnamon rolls, and this was not that. The matcha was also mediocre at best. The whole experience was underwhelming. Pick another brunch restaurant.

Keela D.

Yelp
Short and sweet.... The tenders were hot, fried and lightly breaded. The nuggets taste just like the tenders except this time I have them dipped in Buffalo sauce. This was the first time I ever tried cauliflower and it was awesome. My only complaint about the fried cauliflower is I wish they would let some of the grease drain before serving. No one wants to see a dish or bag soaked in grease.

Matthew L.

Yelp
Coffee both drip & cold brew black are delicious, definitely recommend trying the cinnamon rolls, donuts, and chicken tenders. This is my second visit & haven't been disappointed yet.

Ashley F.

Yelp
So nice, we went back twice! Me and honey bun finally got to check out Milkbread a few weeks back. It's been on my list for a while, so I had very high expectations lol, but they really lived up to them. Great customer service and both times I was able to find parking right at the front. Which is great in this area. With this being a walk-up window type restaurant they do a really great job of shielding guests from the sun and rain. They have lots of umbrellas and an awning to help even more. We ordered the crispy chicken biscuit, which was pretty good! My one small complaint is the biscuit crumbles pretty fast and easy. It's delicious but it turns into a mess real quick. I also ordered a vanilla latte and their original glaze donut. I definitely enjoyed these items too. This really is a great breakfast spot in my opinion. I'll be back for sure!

Monica C.

Yelp
Cinnamon roll was good. Sausage jammy egg sandwich was not good. The sausage was too tough and the egg was literally hard boiled. Vanilla latte tasted like a latte without flavoring.

Karlie C.

Yelp
I've been meaning to come here for a while and finally stopped by today. I'm really glad I did. I got a grain bowl and crispy chicken bites and it was very good. The grain bowl had crunchy rice all through so it had a lot of different textures. The flavor was really good from the sauce that comes on it. The veggies all seemed fresh. The chicken was good and crunchy. I also got the beignets which were very tasty. They were denser than I expected but still good. I just think for a walk up location it's sort of pricy.

Chad M.

Yelp
I got a fried chicken, egg and cheese biscuit. The biscuit crumbled to the point I was mostly eating pieces of it from my tray. The chicken was dry, and the pimento cheese was cold. I also got a ham and cheese croissant, that was overcooked. I plan to go back to try one more time but I think they need to get a handle on their food quality.

Heather B.

Yelp
Used to love this place, but unfortunately it seems to be going downhill. The last couple salads I've ordered have been very skimpy and the latest issue is the quality of their chicken going down. I ordered a chicken sandwich and it was absolutely disgusting. More than half the sandwich was missing the breading, soaked in mayo and the quality of the chicken was terrible (inedible). There was also a small hair on the top of my cinnamon roll (which was also tiny for the $7.50 price tag). Hate that I spent $42 on this (ordered from Postmates).

Jacqueline T.

Yelp
The rating on this one is a bit hard for me because the food and desserts were on different levels. My husband and I shared: - The Hot Dip - Original Glaze and Mixed Berry Milkbread Donuts - Milkbread Cinny Roll The chicken sandwich was one of the smallest chicken sandwiches I've ever been served. It was good, but nothing to write home about in my opinion. The star of the show here is definitely the milk bread based desserts. I came for the donuts, which were delicious. The original was good, but the mixed berry was definitely my preference. The real MVP was the Milkbread Cinny Roll. It's hands down one of the best I've ever had. Don't skip it. I do wish there was more shaded outdoor seating. Baking in the sun while we ate wasn't my favorite.

Hennessey B.

Yelp
Came here Saturday at 1pm. I was having a hard time reading the menu because of a glare. A male staff member picked up a menu for me and gave it to me without asking. That's good customer service! Food was great. Easy order at the counter and wait to be called. The chicken biscuit was delicious!! Just fell apart when I ate it. I recommend eating it piece by piece and with some jam if you have any. Coffee was great. Tasted fresh. Donut was fine. Vibe was cool.

Shawn W.

Yelp
Such a great spot especially for breakfast. They have mini beignets that will have your taste buds wanting more. They come as a dozen and will be gone in a matter of minutes. The baristas and cashiers are always the best. So sweet and always getting pup cups together for the dogs. I love the pop up feel and setting. It's very relaxed and feels like a nice community. My top choices are always the seasonal donuts as well as the chicken biscuit.

Chris M.

Yelp
Went back to give it another shot. This place is straight up not good. This has to be the driest chicken sandwich I've ever had. Bojangles in my opinion is not good and that place has a 10x better chicken sandwich. How do you get fried chicken so dry??

Kendra Y.

Yelp
We stopped by and grabbed a couple of doughnuts. They were very tasty and budget friendly! I had the apple cider glazed. Definitely worth the try if you are in the area!

Lori R.

Yelp
This was my first visit to Milkbread... a place I have been wanting to try for quite some time! The first thing I noticed was five minute parking ... so I am thinking must have fast service... not the case but no worries my hubs is in the drivers seat if needed to move the care. It is a beautiful day in Charlotte and there was horrible glare on the lighted menu board that I had to struggle to see. After struggling the young lady handed me a laminated menu. In my visit I placed an order for an original chicken sandwich, a hot dip chicken sandwich, fries and beignets... I originally asked for Mac n cheese but I was advised that it was not baked and more an Alfredo... thank you from saving me from that. The beignets the were out of at 3:30 in the afternoon?!?! Maybe they serve them as a breakfast option but the definitely didn't have them available for my late lunch! So after I was warned about the Mac n cheese I opted for the fries. On the paper menu it clearly said $4 but was wrong up at $5, no I know it is only a dollar, but it is my dollar... the cashier ringing me up didn't even know there was a price difference from the menu to the register and when she asked the other girl was like oh yeah we need to change that... yes and you need to change my bill... she refused... usually I would cancel my order on principle alone but I did want to try it... so.... They won! Now ... to the actual food. Fries served hot, lacked salt and or seasoning thank goodness I grabbed plenty of ketchup! Hot dipped was just that hot, no flavor just heat... slaw was too wet, causing the bread to be soggy. The chicken itself was good and maintained the crispiness in spite of being dipped.. Old G chicken sandwich was as good as it got. Solid chicken sandwich. And for dessert, the beignets...oops I forget they were out of those. If there is a next time, not sure there will be, I won't have such high expectations.

Meredith L.

Yelp
I am an oatmeal cream pie snob and these are to die for! The brown butter flavor is nutty and flavorful. I need to go get another one asap.

Tom E.

Yelp
The first time I went to Cheats, I drove by this place and my sister said it was supposed to be good. I figured bleh. But the brainchildren behind Kindred and Hello Sailor, if it was anything like them, I figured it should be good. But I wanted to be all cool and be like, "no thanks, we can get desserts in the early morning at BatchMaker". But, the limited schedule to BatchMaker makes it hard for me to load up when I am in town for a short period of time, and the window of opportunity is small on the weekends, I figured after dinner, why the hell not, lets check it out. For one, the menu, you would seem is all over the place, from monstro toasts, to chicken all ways, to donuts, to cinnamon rolls, to bowls. This particular location, is pretty much an order up window, and you can eat outside or bring it home. The menu online is easy to navigate. Since we already ate, sister and I decided to get a 6 pk mini cinis for 15$ online. Now, people will probably complain about how expensive it is, and while it is kind of on the pricey side, keep in mind you are getting quality ingredients. You have the option to get them ready to eat or you can bring them home. We did the home option- since it was about a 20 minute drive back to sisters house. The pickup was easy, which was nice, since there was a line of people who couldn't make up their minds. So yes, I definitely advise at this location to order ahead if you can. We got back and I won't lie, I wasn't too excited, and then I took a bite. And then I ate 3. And then I was like omg. And then I dreamed about them. And then I woke up and demanded I take her family to lunch at the Davidson location to get more. I wish I was kidding. I fell in love at first bite, and the story will continue shortly...

Tameka G.

Yelp
I ordered online and the meal was ready exactly at the time listed on the online order confirmation. It's a new spot in Plaza Midwood and I enjoyed it. I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich and it was so good. I added some fries with that they were crunchy and perfectly salted. Of course I got some donuts they were also good. The seasonal was cranberry orange sour cream it was a cake like donut. I also got the chocolate glazed donut it was my favorite. The customer service was great when I picked up my order. I will surely be back!!!

Asha E.

Yelp
Not terribly but honestly leaves more to be desired. Maybe I need to try more things before I make up my mind. I tried the Nashville Hot Dip fried chicken sando and it really doesn't have much heat. It's a pretty simple sando. Service was fast and friendly. As with most places in Plaza Midwood, parking is a challenge. I initially parked on the street nearby until I saw someone leave and rushed to get the space. It would be helpful to have more covered seating on the patio. Note: you can't dine inside this spot. You can eat on the patio or on your car.

Krystle M.

Yelp
Milkbread has made its way to the Queen City and I'm so excited! I made a stop at the new location just one day after they opened. I placed a quick order online. I was so glad they had an area labeled pickup but I'm not sure if I did it wrong. The guy standing in the pickup window completely ignored me and I had to tell him I had a pick up order after he handed out 2 or 3 orders with me standing in the pickup window. My pickup order had no napkins or utensils. I just got a Milkbread donut, chicken biscuit and milkbread sauce but it would have been nice to have. I inhaled the donut on the ride home and sampled the chicken from the biscuit. The chicken was over cooked and the biscuit was dry (Popeyes biscuit dry). Glad I got the sauce. The Milkbread sauce I thought would be some kind of glaze but it is a honey mustard bbq sauce like Chick-Fil-a sauce. Overall I feel like they have some areas to grow in with it being the first week. They will be very successful in the Queen City. Milkbread 1431 Central Ave Charlotte, NC 28205 (Review 726 overall and 71 in 2022)

Cynthia R.

Yelp
Was very excited to try this spot. Tried 4 different menu items. 1. Original chicken sandwich: I'd give this two stars. Flavor was great. But $9 for a small chicken sandwich that doesn't include sides, I don't if that's their normal pricing or due to everything is so expensive these days. And I waited at least 10-15min just to be served a lukewarm sandwich. In any case the edges were crispy and delicious but the center was extremely chewy and hard to bite off and chew 2. Chocolate glazed donut: I'd give 3 stars, if you like extremely sweet this is a go 3. Original glazed: 5 stars! Absolutely delish! The light cinnamon glaze is perfect, not too sweet, just right. I can imagine how much better it would be if I got it fresh off the fryer 4. "Bubble Juice" another 5 stars! So refreshing. It's like a cucumber mint bubbly water, so delish All in all, good experience. I get they're just opening so will be some kinks to work out. Staff was great. And friendly. Will I be back? Yes I will, but I'll leave the chicken sandwich alone and maybe try one of the bowls next time

Cynthia C.

Yelp
First of all, They don't serve milkbread here. The breakfast bowl that sounds like it will be sweet, or at least neutral/fruity with blueberries, citrus and labneh, came with a spicy mix of savory spices that completely ruined it for me. Yuck.

Nathan F.

Yelp
Went for just a coffee and cinnamon roll. Coffee came out quickly but waited 15mins for them to heat up a pre made cinnamon roll. When it arrived it was ridiculously small for the $6 it cost. Unfortunately the ambiance is also awful, nothing like sipping your coffee next to cars flying by at 45mph.

Makaela P.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped by Milkbread on a Sunday mid afternoon and we were quickly able to order our food. I ordered a plain chicken sandwich with Mac and cheese with strawberry lemonade. My sandwich came out lukewarm but at least it was tasty. My lemonade and Mac and cheese were the bomb dot com - so good! Hubs ordered a coffee and a cinnamon roll - both were quite small. Because I had heard such good things about milkbread's donuts, I decided to come back the very next day for donuts and a hot chocolate. Donuts were so goods - definitely the best I've had in CLT. Hot chocolate was decent. Essentially pastry items, Mac and cheese, and lemonade were 4 Everything else leads more towards a 3

Justin R.

Yelp
Pimento cheese chicken biscuit, latte, and cream cheese cinnamon roll, was absolutely amazing! I would definitely refer this establishment to anyone I know.

Audrey U.

Yelp
I ordered this 2 little G's (hot dipped) and a cold brew for a snack through doordash - my boyfriend immediately asked if we can go back tonight for dinner. The sandwich would not fill me up if I had it for a meal. The hot dipped chicken is not spicy to me but had a great flavor. The food quality is outstanding! The bread is soft but durable enough for the sandwich - it's amazing. I love that the don't charge extra for a splash of oat milk or any other milk options in the cold brew. Anywhere that serves Hex coffee has my business! They also prepped my order quickly so the service was great. I will return in person soon... maybe tonight LOL.

Lawana L.

Yelp
This place is really cute! I got the cookie butter doughnut with Strawberry drizzle. It was fresh with the gooey glaze and warm soft middle. The service was great as the guy was super friendly and accommodating. They have nice seating outside and are pet friendly. I would definitely recommend Milkbread!

Siena D.

Yelp
I think my overall opinion of Milkbread so that is good but somewhat average. I think the mushroom toast that I got was really unique and delicious. The salad was good but I felt like it didn't have anything too special. I tried the seasonal doughnut and while good, I'd say stick with their original. The aesthetic is very Instagram worthy. While I probably would return for lunch, it might not be my first pick in Charlotte.

Alyssa M.

Yelp
Only one thing to say: if you get to order their heirloom tomato BLT....do it. I found it expensive but after eating it I decided I would pay that price again and again because it was that good.

Yelp
Milkbread is a small hot spot in Plaza Midwood. The location is great. I got the Whole Bowl which was delicious. The vanilla latte was also great. Plenty of parking. There was plenty of seating, the only downside is that there is ONLY patio seating! They also have high chairs for kids. Overall a great experience. Service was quick. Everything is bagged to-go which is nice.

Yelp
We have been so excited to try milk bread! We went on a Saturday morning around 9:00. It is a walk up counter and only outdoor seating, but plenty of seating. We ordered a donut, 2 iced lattes and the morning bowl. It was $27 for all that which I was thought was a little pricey. The donut was delicious!! The coffees were average. I was intrigued by the morning bowl on the menu, so I asked the cashier who took our order about it, and she wasn't able to tell me anything more than what the menu said but I went ahead and ordered it. From the menu I was expecting a unique yogurt parfait. It definitely was unique but not how I expected. It was crunchy and a bit spicy. I would definitely go back and try some of their other menu items! I would definitely get another donut!

Yelp
Will preface this review by admitting that I have been twice now, and the food/vibe has been so lovely that I've literally forgotten to take pictures of what I ordered BOTH times Great, great GREAT spot - the staff at the walk-up window are friendly, there is plenty of patio seating, and the menu has everything you could want and more (so far I've had the Little G fried chicken sandwich, the crispy cauliflower, the grandfather's pickles and the maple milkbread donut). Also love that you can get a $2 PBR, a craft beer or some wine and sit out to watch the world go by on Central Avenue (they have water bowls for the pups, of course!). And the fact that they're open from 7am-11pm, 7 days a week, is equal parts wonderful and dangerous for me Wouldn't expect anything less from the phenomenal Kindred restaurant group, and so thankful to have this gem in the heart of Plaza Midwood!
