So I literally had dreams about the cinnamon rolls from the Midwood location last Saturday night, and I knew I wanted to have more. I was reading reviews though, and people were whining about parking, and whining about the chicken how it was too juicy (I guess a good problem to have when it is cooked right, other than that dry @$$ stuff you get from most places). We had the option to get a 1pm at Hello Sailor, or to come here. I told them, lets check it out, since we hadn't been here before. So we did, and oh hell are we glad we did!
The drive was easy, and pretty much right off the exit off of 77, near a turn about. We saw there was parking out front, but also a huge lot in the back that made it so easy. Google (which imo, is as useful as an SFL when it comes to this stuff) was beating red rocket "as busy as it gets" but, it was easy peasy for us. We got a huge marble table for 5, and were the second people in line.
This place is very open, and spacious, with plenty of large tables inside and out. I think this is the flagship location. They even have beer, wine, and merch for sale.
Since we came for lunch, we decided to get (to start)- plant based nuggets (1 nephew), 6 tenders (sis and lil nephew), the whole bowl (bil), and the ham toast, hot dip chicken sandwich, and fries (which I shared the fries). The food came out in about 5-10 minutes, not bad. In the corner, over by the bathrooms and to go counter, there is a self serve area that has the drink fountain (which serves ice cold water, no need for ice imo), silverware, and even coloring sheets for the kids, which was cool.
I won't lie, I started with the fries, they were cooked great and the table loved them. Got a decent amount and it was hard to share. The chicken sandwich, I was really impressed. Now, I am not a fan of mayo (which this had), but it worked on the sandwich. Along with the potato bun, this was one of the better chicken sandwiches I have had in my life. As for the toast, it was big. And the mustard def packed a punch. This was great if like you French inspired toast. I liked it, but yes, it was definitely pungent. Def use the fork and knife supplied.
I then snagged a chicken tender and I was like whoa, I need to get more. So, we decided to get another order, with 3 tenders pour moi, 6 minis for here, and 6 minis for me to take back to Atlanta. The family who did not eat them the night before (pretty much everyone besides sis) got to try them, and they went wild for them too. I ended up eat 2 there. When I brought them home, I ended up eating 5 that night, and my mom ate 1. And she really liked it, sorry I didn't get more.
Was it on the pricey side, yea I have seen stuff cheaper, but again, these are quality ingredients all around, and the hot foods, are cooked to order, and you can tell. The staff was all so friendly, so between the environment and the food, this was all around a 5 star experience. I am so glad to see the Kindred family expanded this product, because you sure have fans out of us! Can't wait to come back! Not to be missed if you like chicken or doughy sweets!
