Milkbread Cafe Opened in Davidson, North Carolina, to Record Crowds - Eater Carolinas

"Charlotte-area brunch fans love Milkbread in Davidson so much, they almost broke it. After an opening weekend of Joe and Katy Kindred’s new breakfast-focused cafe coincided with a snowstorm, internet crashes, and long lines of eager eaters that wiped out the doughnut supply, Katy Kindred announced that Milkbread would close for two days to catch up and reopen Wednesday. The cafe’s regular hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., daily." - Kathleen Purvis

The 11 Most Anticipated Restaurants For North and South Carolina for Fall - Eater Carolinas

"During the start of the pandemic, seasonal Italian restaurant Kindred had to pivot to food that would travel well to homes in takeout containers. The owners wanted comfort and nostalgia in a box, which translated to milk bread doughnuts, massive fried chicken sandwiches, and fresh and fun wines. The concept was such a hit that the couple will use that menu for spinoff cafe Milkbread." - Erin Perkins

Google
Service was great, wait time was normal, food was excellent, coffee was not very good. We got 4 separate food items and have had 2 before, all have been very tasty and are fairly priced. The staff is very kind and helpful with choosing items. The coffee both hot and iced tasted excessively sour, and the latte was way too sweet even with half syrup requested. I would skip the coffee, but come for the food and bakery.

I moved away from the area a few years ago but come back to Davidson very often for work. Last year I tried the original chicken sandwich and loved it (the pickles are the best) — so much that every time I travel back for work it’s one of my recommended restaurants for colleagues. A few weeks ago I ordered when in town and it was no longer a full fried chicken sandwich but 3 small chicken tenders - very different than before. I wasn’t sure if it was an off night so tried again this week and it was the same. The toppings were also minimal and very messy since they don’t fit the bun. I want to love this place because of my initial experiences but don’t think it will be a place I make sure people go out of their way to stop at when in town. Hopefully this isnt the norm.

Google
I came to this location because this was closer to my house than the Charlotte location. This place gets a 5 for aesthetics and atmosphere. The restaurant looks cute and chic. I ordered the hot dip chicken sandwich, fries and a glazed donut. Everything was $17.00 which is good these days. The chicken sandwich was nice and juicy not too spicy. Loved the fries and donut. Will definitely be back for the original chicken sandwich and the beet salad.

Google
Disappointed with my visit to Milk Bread Davidson. The self-service kiosk showed several donuts (strawberry, chocolate, glazed) as unavailable, though they were clearly in the case & on a pan in plain view. When I asked the cashier, she was dismissive and sarcastic, initially claiming the donuts were for the next day—false info. However once we pointed out the ones in the case — she gave us the 3 in the case & 3 chocolate donuts from under the counter; the chocolate ones we got were overcooked and not fresh at all; the chocolate flaked off completely. When questioned, we were told “they all come out looking different,” which felt like an excuse. Not the quality or service I expected. Our first time ordering their donuts. Harris Teeter are better.

Google
Ordered the Hot dip chicken sandwich, grandfathers pickles and the fries. Sandwich was amazing but I would recommend getting the sauce on the side as it gets everywhere. Pickles weren’t great, a bit too vinegary for my taste and the fries were ok, but nothing to call home about. Food came fast and the staff were super nice

Google
I order the Heirloom BLT whenever it is in season because I loved it so much when Kindred used to serve lunch. I’ve been consistently disappointed with Milkbread’s version of the same sandwich. It advertises Crispy Bacon as one of the ingredients but this is far from what you get on your $16 sandwich. Ordered it to go and was disappointed with the barely cooked bacon. I understand that you are at the mercy of the restaurant when you order takeout because they know once you get it home there is very little you can do about it. The next day I decided to order at the counter and requested extra crispy bacon. I was told that I couldn’t request anything to be cooked to my liking because the bacon is made in batches and you get the bacon however it is made. When asked why I couldn’t request the bacon to be cooked the way I like it I was told that it would slow down production. But I was told if I didn’t like the sandwich the way it came out they would refund my money. Fast forward to receiving the $16 dollar sandwich with under cooked bacon. Sandwich is brought to the manager who says it’s not a problem to get extra crispy bacon as long as you talk to the manager. The second sandwich was delicious. But the question remains, why do I have to speak with a manager to get my sandwich prepared the way I want it? Something isn’t quite right here.

Google
Decided to check out milkbread recently for breakfast on a Saturday. It was very busy but the line to order your food moved quickly. We ordered a Smores Doughnut, Nutella Toast, Avocado Toast and a Crispy Chicken Biscuit. We found a few seats and our food was out very quickly. Everything tasted great and the prices were really good. We will be back and would highly recommend milkbread!

Google
First time eating here. Very pleasant staff at the counter. Ordered our grilled chicken sandwiches minus the buns and got fries as our sides. We sat outside under an umbrella. Food was brought out quickly from another very nice staffer. The sandwich comes with melted cheese on top, some lettuce and pickles. Also comes with a small cup of very tasty thousand island style dressing. We weren’t too impressed with our chicken. I did eat all of mine but it just wasn’t great. Seemed a little rubbery. Definitely wasn’t worth the price. Fries were good but seems like most restaurants have good fries. We knew it would be a little pricey due to location, was just hoping the meal would have been a little better.

Yelp
food is delicious and fresh service is always with a smile ambiance is clean and friendly everything has been tasty, especially the fresh baked donuts

Yelp
I DREAM about this salad. This may be the best Green Goddess salad I've ever had. I love adding the nuggets too. And let's talk about the oatmeal cream pie--to die for. Not pictured is the Chocolate Coconut Caramel Latte I also ordered. It was fantastic. I love when a place just makes GOOD FOOD. Staff is always so friendly, and the inside of the restaurant is super cute. Looks like a great study or work spot too.

Yelp
Loved the iced oat milk vanilla latte! I also had the chicken biscuit and got the hot dip on the side. The biscuit was super flaky and buttery! It was really good. The chicken itself was really bland. I'm glad I got the hot sauce for it. The sauce was nice and spicy and flavorful! Overall, I love the atmosphere of the place and I love that it has so much seating as well! Service was also really great!

Yelp
I'm saddened to have to update my review to only 1 star. The only thing I order here is their chicken sandwiches, and at some point they switched from using big juicy chicken breasts, to 3 little tenders on their sandwiches. This is such a horrible decision. The pictures for both of their chicken sandwiches on the ordering apps still feature big chicken breasts. It's deceptive and if they're proud of this decision why not update the images? Also I ordered a seasonal donut because the picture was of a cake donut - I'm not a fan of their yeast donuts at all. But lo and behold a yeast donut showed up. So not only are they using deceptive images for their chicken sandwiches, they're also using deceptive images for their seasonal donut.

Yelp
I'm ready to go back to this place! I came in for lunch and got my grain bowl to-go. I'm going to dine in next time. The restaurant is clean with an upbeat vibe. The sport a sanitation grade of 98.5. The employees were friendly and helpful. They had to explain the features of several dishes to me to make my choice. The food was delicious. The crisp rice in the grain bowl mixed with the almond romesco was amazing. It was fresh and clean. The "jammy egg" was also surprisingly tasty. The only downside was that they didn't accept cash as a payment option. The food was great. I'm ready for more.

Yelp
I ordered the wrap through Uber Eats and it was so good! Though I wish they used cauliflower bites instead of plant based chicken (which more than likely has soy) . My order arrived promptly. Since the food was so good, a friend and I went in person to check the place out. The beignets were amazing and so was everything else. Perfect ambience to work or have lunch with friends.

Yelp
When I say milk bread will not disappoint, they always come through. They provide great customer service. The ambiance is inviting for networking, grabbing lunch with a friend, or enjoying breakfast solo. I had their chicken sandwich, Cobb salad, sausage and egg jelly biscuit, and fries They definitely have me as a repeat customer

Yelp
I finally made it, been on my list a couple of months! Before I get into the food I have to compliment the incredible service I received from Deven immediately walking in the door. Being my first time and knowing that I wanted to try several items but that I couldn't try everything (it was just me so I couldn't share) Deven was so helpful and patient and kind, just wonderful! So hard to narrow down what to eat but I landed on the crispy cauliflower, the hot dip w/pimento cheese, a red velvet milkbread donut (seasonal flavor), a biscuit, a sourdough bagel, an everything bagel, and the milkbread mini cinnies with cream cheese frosting. I got everything to go and the order was well packed and accurate. The crispy cauliflower was eaten while driving and even packed up to go, held its crispiness. It was crispy and tender and good enough to eat plain or dip. Normally if I start with a fried appetizer, it spoils my appetite because it's so heavy and oily, I ate the entire order of crispy cauliflower and it wasn't heavy or overly filling. A great starter which was perfect because I had the chicken sandwich to try next. And oh my word, so so good! The hot dip is buttermilk brined chicken with a little spice but served with their citrusy slaw and their famous pickles, it makes the perfect crunch and bite. I also added pimento cheese because why wouldn't I, and it was awesome. That sandwich was just as good as it looks! I have to be honest, the donuts aren't the prettiest and because of the way it looked, I wasn't expecting to be as impressed but a soft, fluffy, springy but light milkbread donut just can't miss. Next I tried the mini cinnies. Which came with the cream cheese frosting on the side because it was a to go order. The secret to their cinnamon rolls isn't just the dough, it's the glaze which is a thick caramelized cinnamon, brown butter "sauce". If you've ever been disappointed in the level of cinnamon in a cinnamon bun, this glaze ensures that you never feel that way here. Honestly, I ate one without the frosting and one with and I loved both. Ooey gooey and bite sized, yum! Saved the bagels and biscuit for breakfast and even being a day "old" the bagels still had a really good chew and the texture of quality ingredients. Biscuit was light, fluffy and flaky in the right ways. Some items were sold out by the time I stopped in so it's a great excuse to go back. I def want to try some of the bowls and toasts next along with the beignets and brown butter oatmeal cream pie. The restaurant itself is open and bright, with tables or bar style seating, counter service and nice variety of fun coffee drinks, sodas, wine and beer. Tables outside for a nice day and appears to be dog friendly as well. A great spot for a James beard nominated chef's take on fast casual food. Love!

Yelp
The chicken sandwich is now chicken tenders on a bun which we were not even informed. Agree with the prior review that they have kept the photo of the chicken sandwich which is misleading. Unfortunately service is still poor. I used to work at a restaurant as a server so it's disheartening.

Yelp
I was in here a few weeks ago. Chicken Sandwich and Big Freaking Cookie were superb! For service, they're very serious but great at their jobs. I have been in about 100 restaurants in the Lake Norman area and get along well with everyone--I'm on the gregarious and talkative side. Strange vibe here though. Oh well. Staff is still cool in my book and the food is better than I thought. Recommended.

Yelp
I stopped by for a little brunch with my two small kids, (five and six). The space is really nice & conveniently located. It wasn't crowded. We sat outside. Atmosphere is great. The menu was a little heavier than I had hoped. I guess I should've known from the name, but I was hoping for more protein options. We came for the cinnamon rolls. I've heard they were great. But there was so much sauce on them, we couldn't even eat them. Even my kids said they were too sweet and couldn't eat them. That part was a bummer. Maybe we just ordered bad.

Yelp
I accidentally ordered to the wrong location called and they refused to cancel order! They were quite rude and unprofessional in my opinion. I will quit eating at all locations because of this so called "policy"

Yelp
Grain Bowl (4/5): I LOVED the crispy rice in this bowl. Such a good crunch. The egg was also perfectly cooked. I added chicken bites as an upgrade, and they were nice and crunchy as well, but they were a bit too salty and tasted too strongly of soy sauce (I think?). There was also a bit more ginger flavor in the bowl than I prefer. Nice option for something a little lighter and more fresh.  Petite Beignets (3/5): Lots of powdered sugar on these. The dough was just ok though. MUCH better warm than after they've sat for awhile.  RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this

Yelp
Always solid. Just great food. Chicken wrap is excellent. Honestly everything I've had is great.

Yelp
For the longest time I have held the belief that Popeyes ultimately emerged victorious in the Chicken Sandwich Wars. I had, up until that part of my life, never had a chicken sandwich I enjoyed more than Popeyes. That was, until, my taste buds feasted upon the glory that is the Milkbread chicken sandwich. When you bite into the original chicken sandwich, you initially feel the soft bread followed by the crispiest, most satisfying, glorious crunch of the chicken. The grandfather pickle, pickled just right, is the cherry on top to this heaven-in-a-bun. They usually play fantastic bops on the speakers and seating is plentiful, despite the busy rushes during peak hours. On top of this, the service is always the friendliest. Recommend to all coming to the area! 10 out of 10!

Yelp
First time at this location and I was pleased to see how late they were open on a weekday. This is in such a cute and trendy area of Davidson, very walkable with other shops nearby. I ordered on the kiosk, which was very convenient and easy. I got The Little G, hot dip style. It was a small piece of chicken as expected, but the meat could have been pounded thinner to make it easier to consume. With each bite my sandwich fell apart, making eating it a lot messier than expected. Taste was good though and I loved the pickles. I also ordered a warm spice latte with almond milk and 1/2 syrup. While I loved the flavor, even with 1/2 the amount of syrup it was too sweet for my taste. I drank it though and would consider it in the future with no syrup.

Yelp
The employees simply don't care. Went to get pickup. SIX employees walked by and didn't gaf. When the manager walked by on his way out to visit with his family instead of doing his job, that did it. Same experience about 3 months ago. Decided to try one last time. No more.
google avatar

Yelp
I got the jammy sandwhich. My egg was cold like they just took it out of the fridge and slapped it on the biscuit. The biscuit is extremely crumbly and dry. I don't know how any one can eat this like a Sandwhich, I can't even eat it with a fork it just falls apart.
google avatar

Yelp
We love to come here for lunch! Their salads/bowls are all incredible! We also love their hot dip sandwich and crispy cauliflower (make sure to add a side of ranch to dip it in!). And Grandfather's Pickles - just typing that makes my mouth water! We always have to get an order to go to enjoy at home - they're a salty, spicy, old-timey tasting pickle. The downside is it is pretty pricey for a counter service restaurant. They have quite a few outdoor tables that allow canine friends.
google avatar

Yelp
One of my favorite takeout places at the lake. Whether it's the chicken sandwich, chicken bites, crispy cauliflower, or grain bowl, I'm happy with any of it. I am usually one of those people who order the same thing from the same place but not at milkbread. I like trying all there new items, because I haven't had a bad meal yet. When it comes to the desserts, I like the cinny roll best or like snagging a seasonal donut.

Chris B.

Yelp
The menu photo is nothing like what I received. Ordered an original chicken sandwich and for $15, I received under cooked tenders on a bun and fries....before tip. I used to love their food but the quality keeps sinking.

Susan D.

Yelp
So overrated as well as Kindred. Overpriced and not worth the expense. As a foodie, I do not mine paying for high-end restaurants as long as the food is excellent.

Yelp
So I literally had dreams about the cinnamon rolls from the Midwood location last Saturday night, and I knew I wanted to have more. I was reading reviews though, and people were whining about parking, and whining about the chicken how it was too juicy (I guess a good problem to have when it is cooked right, other than that dry @$$ stuff you get from most places). We had the option to get a 1pm at Hello Sailor, or to come here. I told them, lets check it out, since we hadn't been here before. So we did, and oh hell are we glad we did! The drive was easy, and pretty much right off the exit off of 77, near a turn about. We saw there was parking out front, but also a huge lot in the back that made it so easy. Google (which imo, is as useful as an SFL when it comes to this stuff) was beating red rocket "as busy as it gets" but, it was easy peasy for us. We got a huge marble table for 5, and were the second people in line. This place is very open, and spacious, with plenty of large tables inside and out. I think this is the flagship location. They even have beer, wine, and merch for sale. Since we came for lunch, we decided to get (to start)- plant based nuggets (1 nephew), 6 tenders (sis and lil nephew), the whole bowl (bil), and the ham toast, hot dip chicken sandwich, and fries (which I shared the fries). The food came out in about 5-10 minutes, not bad. In the corner, over by the bathrooms and to go counter, there is a self serve area that has the drink fountain (which serves ice cold water, no need for ice imo), silverware, and even coloring sheets for the kids, which was cool. I won't lie, I started with the fries, they were cooked great and the table loved them. Got a decent amount and it was hard to share. The chicken sandwich, I was really impressed. Now, I am not a fan of mayo (which this had), but it worked on the sandwich. Along with the potato bun, this was one of the better chicken sandwiches I have had in my life. As for the toast, it was big. And the mustard def packed a punch. This was great if like you French inspired toast. I liked it, but yes, it was definitely pungent. Def use the fork and knife supplied. I then snagged a chicken tender and I was like whoa, I need to get more. So, we decided to get another order, with 3 tenders pour moi, 6 minis for here, and 6 minis for me to take back to Atlanta. The family who did not eat them the night before (pretty much everyone besides sis) got to try them, and they went wild for them too. I ended up eat 2 there. When I brought them home, I ended up eating 5 that night, and my mom ate 1. And she really liked it, sorry I didn't get more. Was it on the pricey side, yea I have seen stuff cheaper, but again, these are quality ingredients all around, and the hot foods, are cooked to order, and you can tell. The staff was all so friendly, so between the environment and the food, this was all around a 5 star experience. I am so glad to see the Kindred family expanded this product, because you sure have fans out of us! Can't wait to come back! Not to be missed if you like chicken or doughy sweets!

Yelp
The iced matcha latte with lavender is my favorite thing on the menu. I always add in strawberry. It's so good. I still haven't found my favorite thing to eat but I will keep trying. Some of the food can be a bit dry sometimes or even too messy.

Yelp
Great salads and tasty dressings! Prices are high but they really do give a big size portion. If you ever watch Seinfeld "a big salad"

Yelp
The staff was friendly and the chicken sandwich, buffalo chicken wraps and fries were delicious! It was our first time at milkbread after hearing so many wonderful things. It lived up to the hype!

Yelp
Wonderful food. Great customer service. The prices are high. I would encourage about a 20% reduction in menu items. The fact this place does not take cash is very disappointing and in my opinion not proper at all. How is it legal not to take legal tender? I asked and was told it was a security issue. I don't believe that at all. This place is located in a very safe town. It's a boutique chicken place in one of the most expensive and nicest towns in North Carolina. Lower your prices and allow cash please. Again the food is delicious and the staff is friendly. The place is always very clean as well.
google avatar

Ken W.

Yelp
The bowls were quite pricey and were not filled much. The menu was also a little confusing to follow, and when I asked the cashier to explain what was in a bowl, she just restated the name of the bowl. The donut was absolutely amazing and the seating is elegant. Such a nice atmosphere in the morning!

Yelp
I stopped in for a chocolate chip cookie to go. It was tasty, not incredibly life changing, but the salt on top was a really nice touch. The cookie was $5 and change, not cheap. Solid 4 star cookie!

Yelp
Very cute place with yummy and unique food options. Love that the plant based chicken doesn't cost extra!

Yelp
Ooey gooey delicious cinnamon rolls! Yum, yum, yum. The Mini Cinnies were incredible. I will say I couldn't eat more than one because they were so rich in flavor and almost hurt my teeth with how sweet they were, but they were still so good. We had breakfast here on top of our sweets and the service and ambiance were both nice. All in all, great spot to try in Davidson!

Yelp
Take a look at *THIS* milk bread doughnut and delicious crispy chicken sandwich!!! James Beard-nominated chef Joe Kindred and his wife, Katy, of Kindred and Hello, Sailor have this casual concept Milkbread in downtown Davidson. Come for lunch and get: The Original Sandwich with crispy chicken, shredduce, Duke's mayonnaise, and grandfather's pickles on a potato bun Eastern Carolina Hot-Dipped Crispy Chicken, with citrusy coleslaw and Duke's mayonnaise on a potato bun order an Original Glaze for in-person indulging or to take for the road For a healthier lunch option, go for the Momo Salad: seasonal lettuce, bacon, radish, carrot, red onion, breadcrumbs, buttermilk dressing. This adorable spot is open from 7 am to 9 pm every day in Davidson. For those who don't want to make the drive out, watch out for their second Milkbread location in Plaza Midwood -- coming soon!

Yelp
Disappointing doughnuts. Yelped the area and saw these and drove specifically for them. Have to say my kids and I did not care for them. They were more like baked bread with icing rather than a doughnut. Probably will not return.

Yelp
I was very happy with our entire meal! The plain glazed donut is the best I've had in the area so far!! We all had different food items at our table and not one person had a complaint. I would strongly recommend this if you are looking for a quick breakfast or lunch and if you want to go as far even a beer or wine with it if you want.
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely pricey, but the desserts are pretty good! Came on a recommendation from a friend. While it was delicious, I don't know if it was worth all the hype.

Yelp
Joe and Katy Kindred have done it again with Milkbread. This cafe is serving some awesome dishes. During our visit right after opening weekend we were lucky to get a table. The busy cafe was packed at lunch time. We ordered the Original Chicken Sandwich, the Hot Dip, the Creamy Mac N Cheese, Crispy Cauliflower, Grandfather's Pickles and a mixed dozen of Milkbread Donuts. Everything we ordered was delicious. I enjoyed the Hot Dip chicken sandwich. The spice wasn't too spicy and I put ranch on top. The Crispy Cauliflower was like eating a crispy boneless wing. They are full of flavor. Now the donuts are a dream. They don't compare to any other donut I've ever had and I've had a good bit of donuts in my time. The donuts are covered in a caramel type glaze and has a distinct cinnamon flavor. They continually make the donuts throughout the day and you can't purchase them until they are actually ready. I love this but it also made me anxious because they run out quickly. I can't wait til they bring Milkbread to Charlotte but I know I will be back to this location soon. Yelp
I've been excited to go to milkbread because I love the milk bread at Kindred! I wish they actually sold that here with the side of butter...drool. I had already eaten lunch so I just got a couple donuts to take home. The donuts are made using the milk bread dough, so they are nice and chewy, definitely denser than a Krispy Kreme donut. I enjoyed the flavor of the donuts but the glaze had basically melted off my glazed donut, which was pretty disappointing. It just tasted like bread. The chocolate on the chocolate covered donut was a nice, dark chocolate (as opposed to milk chocolate). Out of the two, this one was the winner. I will be back to try the chicken sandwich!
google avatar

Yelp
Overall very cute place to sit and meet with people. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating available. Adorable vibe inside, very clean and sleek. However, VERY limited menu. That was a bit disappointing. I ended up getting this morning bowl when I came for lunch which had a lot of variety and was pretty good but still wish they had more for those midday meals on a lunch break.
google avatar

Rebecca L.

Yelp
Sadly disappointed . We both got the chicken sandwich (I got the spicy one) and although it was a huge chicken breast, it was too thick and I think the chicken felt dry because they were trying to make sure it was cooked through. Mine wasn't that spicy either but the texture combination was there with the pickles & coleslaw. However, the latte with chocolate milk was actually very good! There's street parking and a parking lot behind as well (part of Harris Teeter lot).

Yelp
First time ordering from here and I felt indifferent. Placed a pickup order on UberEats for 3 things -- an iced strawberry matcha, an oatmeal crème pie pastry and one of their grain bowls. It took half an hour before my order was deemed ready. I walked in to pick it up and it wasn't on the stand even though my app said it was ready for pickup. The girl working the window and bagging to go orders said nothing to me. Walked past me 3 times before asking me for my name, even though I saw my order sitting right on their counter. Got to my car and they didn't even include a fork for the bowl. The matcha was delicious. Worth almost $8 for a 16oz cup? No. Crème pie was also good -- worth $6.25? No. The grain bowl, by the time I got to it after driving home and getting a fork was cold and salty. It really needs a pickled onion or something to balance out the creaminess of the avocado, crunchiness of the rice grains and saltiness of whatever sauce was on it. Overall, $32 for 3 things for 1 person and I wouldn't do it again. Can't speak for ambience inside because I didn't eat in, but I was not impressed with the staff, prices, or overall quality of the food. On to the next!

Went back today & got the hot chicken sandwich & the chocolate milkbread doughnut. I've now found "my order." The dip on the chicken has just the right amount of heat! I was able to eat it & not sweat or feel like my mouth was going to spit fire. The coleslaw was perfect & the potato roll was soft. So much yumminess. The chocolate was sweet & the doughnut was so soft. These doughnuts are amazing. Quick & easy order & fast pick up.

Yelp
Cute place! Went for brunch and everyone enjoyed it. Doesn't have a ton of big tables, so if you're with a large party you may need to combine tables or break up your group. I got the grain bowl. It was good, but not amazing. The crunchy rice was delicious. It is a good option if you want a healthy, filling meal

Yelp
MilkBread is sure to become a Davidson staple. This is a donuts and coffee kind of place. They're super active on IG so be sure to follow for hours and updates. The inside is trendy, bright, and beautiful. Table and bar height seating is spread out and open. You could easily meet here for a casual conversation or with a group for lunch. I stopped in for a to go order today because I've been dying to try them! The donuts and coffee are incredible. The classic donut is perfect. Cinnamon forward flavor and pairs so well with their coffee. Incredible and a really nice treat. Chewy, warm, and a glaze that cases it all inside. My Avocado Toast was ok. Honestly when I opened it, I had thought, "is this for a bird!?" It was smothered in seeds and salt. Just a tad heavy handed for me. Prices are VERY fair. $15 for my coffee, tea, and toast. I think that's great for homemade REAL food. I am looking forward to trying more of their sandwiches and treats in the future.

Yelp
Great salad and fast service. Pricey but tasty. I would eat here again after payday They do give a nice size portion and the town is super cute.

Yelp
The Avocado toast IS SO GOOD I always get it. The coffee/espresso here isn't my favorite but it's still good! You have to try the Avo toast

Yelp
I wanted to love this place. Great reviews both on Yelp and from personal local recommendations but I was very disappointed with the biscuit and the sausage. Biscuit was extremely dry and crumbled at first bite. The sausage patty was thin, dry and resembled a frozen patty. The "jammy" egg was fine but could not overcome the lackluster co-stars. My wife had the chicken biscuit. Similar result although the chicken was excellent. Unfortunately the breast had to be eaten by hand as the biscuit disintegrated and could not hold up as a sandwich.

Yelp
I got the avocado toast, milk and honey toast and an iced americano. Service was super nice and they got everything correct. Prices were a little more expensive than I would like but for the areas median income it makes sense. The food was delicious, like extremely high quality ingredients and thoughtfully assembled. If your looking for good homemade food with fresh ingredients and your okay with a little higher price tag this place is perfect. Also the store was clean and well decorated even when I brought in my sons mini push trike, there was plenty of room to maneuver. If I come back to Davidson I will for sure stop here!

Yelp
I randomly found this place, and I'm glad I did! The restaurant is super cute and simple; I really thought the design concept was nice. I got the fried chicken sandwich with a side of mac and cheese and a chocolate chip cookie. It was all around 25ish dollars. The sandwich was good and fresh; I'm thinking they make them to order. Wasn't heavily seasoned, but it had pickles and mayo, so that added flavor. The mac and cheese was ok, but I would try a different side next time. The chocolate chip cookie is one of those that aren't very sweet, and the salt added on top added an additional layor of flavor. If you want something a little different than Chick-fil-A, I recommend this place. They are super friendly, and the food is tasty.
