Min Jiang

After being disappointed by my once go-to dim sum places in London, I was so glad to once more discover a place where every bite is more amazing than the last. The restaurant itself is a very pleasant place to be in with amazing views of Hyde Park and London that are worth visiting for alone. The staff was very professional and friendly. But what stands out the most, and what is by far most important for me is the food. We didn't try the specialty duck this time as we were there for dim sum, but we saw it being served and the look and smell was outstanding. Every single dim sum we tried had delicate flavours, there was a lot of variety and the Char Siu (which we had as filling in three different dim sums) is the best I remember. The Cheung Fun was insane, and several other dim sums I could have had 6 more... It's slightly pricier than some others, but nothing unreasonable, and taking into account the location, level of service and food quality, it's actually very reasonable. Can't wait to return...

The view is obviously amazing - and the food? I was skeptical as such a place does not need great food to be popular and the interior is not impressive for a new-ish place. The red paint when you enter looks a bit cheap, the floor too, and the table decoration is not special either. I was wrong. The food is spectacular and the Peking Duck was the best one I had in London (yes - it beats the obvious Mayfair places). You have to pre-order it and I urge you to do so. It is the highlight but the other dishes I tried were also quite tasty. Try the dim sum and soft shell crab starter. We paid £110 per person with 2 glasses of wine; £80 without the wine. The half duck was £50 and is great value. Oh and did I mention the view?

So. Last minute lunch with a friend. Get in quick for the Duck and Dim Sum special for £55 for the special half duck and 2 dim sum. I cannot highlight how good the food is, how great the staff are and how stunning the view is across Hyde Park.

Fine chinese restaurant overlooking on the park. Foods are delicious, especially the preorder peaking duck. Most of the Dim sums orded are very good as well.

The service is very good, it is recommended to book in advance. The roast duck is very delicious. It is recommended to make a reservation in advance and come to eat around 12 noon or 6 pm when it opens, because the duck meat is hotter and tastes better. The restaurant is on the tenth floor and offers views of Hyde Park and the London Eye. Desserts and fish tasted good, tofu didn't.

Sunday Dim Sum is much recommended. I thoroughly enjoy every dish I have ordered. Before you come do make a booking in advance, otherwise you could be disappointed.

One of the best Pekin Duck restaurants in London. The fine-dining restaurant has great atmosphere, too. Perfect location for celebrations and important festivals.

I am disappointed. The duck was great but the second dish of Peking duck did not arrive. We asked for the remaining to be chopped but it did not come. Soup was nice. Yam ring was good. Service hit and miss. Wine list was average. For the price paid I think service needs to be coordinated well. Even in Chinatown we can get better service.

I am a single mom traveling with my two kids from California to London for spring break and my kids are ages 9 and 10. We had lunch at Mayfair chippy and did not plan to order a whole bunch of food but we did want to try their roasted duck dinner. So I ordered a half duck and Xiao long bao, which we could not completely finish. The waiter, an older Cantonese man, gave me some very degrading attitude after I ordered these items and said in a passive aggressive way 'JUST TWO?' And I felt compelled to explain that my two kids only eat the amount of 1 adult and we just hope to try the duck dinner. I don't even know why I felt the need to explain myself and it felt very strange and unpleasant. The waiter cuts me off even before I finished my sentence by saying 'okay okay' and left the table as I was finishing my sentences. It was a very passive aggressive attitude. Of course. No smiles or eye contact in the meanwhile. When the duck dinner came, he brought up the side dishes, and he asked me in Chinese - 'you should know what these are, you don't need me to explain anything right?' In fact even though I was born and raised in China, it would be nice for my kids to hear and learn and enjoy the 'high end Chinese dining experience'. But because this waiter has been throwing me attitude since the beginning, I told him 'no need to explain'. He asked us if we wanted sparking water or flat water, without saying that flat water is going to be bottled flat water. Fine, he brought up bottled flat water and opened without my consent. I though maybe that was my misunderstanding and didn't say anything. But as I was almost done eating and asked for the bill, he OPENED ANOTHER BOTTLE of that flat water, again without my consent!!! Our glasses were all half full when he did that without my consent and when I was checking the bill, he forcefully poured into our half full glasses to make them full again. That action as really pissed me off - my family have owned a modern Chinese restaurant and I know all the sneaky tricks waiters do get just a little more money. Service is non-existent unless you splurge. I asked the manager what's going on here - first the degrading attitude because I order 'ONLY TWO' and then this forceful sale of water without my consent. Manager cuts me off and claims he cannot refund my credit card charge, and offered to have me bring the 3/4 bottle water home. We have other plans afterward so I refused. Then he said, look, the two bottles are $11 pounds, he will just give me $5.5 back in cash. I told him this is not even about money, his employee is outright rude and judgmental. I do not even think ordering a duck dinner and another side order is considered too little, we could not finish the food either. The service here is bitter and very judgmental - they will judge you and provide minimum service if they think you are not worth their time. Very unpleasant experience. I feel discriminated, judged and treated unfairly. Food was sub par - roasted duck in LA is way better. Beware.

I had dinner here a few weeks ago and the experience was phenomenal. Food: I requested the half duck in the notes of our reservation ahead of time, as recommended by the restaurant's site. They told us upon arrival that the note had been received and the duck was already on our order. In addition, we ordered the steamed tofu, midnight lotus and litchitini cocktails and mango sago dessert. I would highly recommend the duck, midnight lotus, and the steamed tofu. The duck was juicy and well cooked, with crispy skin for extra enjoyment on the side. Their house hoisin sauce paired well with the meat - I was sad when we ran out! The duck also comes with an additional dish for the extra bits and pieces. We went with the fried noodles, per our servers recommendation. The steamed tofu served as a light and refreshing dish after the duck. Service: the service was polite and courteous. Our server came to check on us multiple times and gave great recommendations throughout the meal. Overall: I only regret coming here after dark. Since Min Jiang is at the top of a hotel, I can only imagine that the daylight view overlooking Kensington Gardens is incredible. Would recommend to anyone looking for good Chinese food in London!

Quite pricey but the view is amazing The beef ho phon noodles and the prawn dumplings were very tasty. The chili caprianhana was also very good with perfect level of spice.

Great View. But we were hungry and were there to eat, not to sightsee. The damage for the four of us were 220 pounds for a dim sum luncheon, and scarred for life. Service was good, but oh my gosh, none of the dishes were made for people who frequent Chinese restaurant. To give you a perspective, the quality is somewhere between frozen dinner and Panda Express. If you look at the name of the dished, you would think this is a Cantonese style restaurant, and you are in for a surprise. The dim sum were so bad my son was comparing them to dim sum we'd purchased from a subway station in Hong Kong. I honestly think the chef has never tasted real Cantonese cooking before. Our simple veggie stirred fry tasted like drunken chicken ( a local favorite in the Shanghai area ), but why add so much cooking wine in a supposed to be health and simple dish??? Even the soup were loaded with cooking wine. The Beijing Roast Duck tasted like it was cooked in Beijing 3 months ago, then defrosted in London. They charged almost 14 pounds for 1 tea bag for two people, really? If you want to punish yourself, this is a great place for that.

YOU MUST CALL THE RESTAURANT AND RESERVE THE DUCK AHEAD OF TIME. Or sorry, no Peking duck for you! This was the first words out of our smiling waiter as we put in our order. Having made our reservations a month ago from the US via Open Table and reading nothing about the order ahead requirement, we were dismayed enough to cancel our dinner and walk out. Seeing our disappointment, our waiter went away, came back, and told us a duck had been found. Found? Hmmm...we wondered where the spare duck came from, but never mind, we ordered it along with several other dishes. The duck came in three parts - neck fat, sliced duck, and a choice of preparations for the leftover bits. We chose cubed duck in lettuce cups. The fatty and succulent duck was the highlight of our dinner and the accompanying condiments and the thin but sturdy pancakes worked perfectly in harmony. The spare bits of duck in tiny lettuce canapés had a strange bitter flavor and were not successful. The medley of vegetarian dim sum was delicate and pleasing. The other dishes were either on the bland side or overly salty. We agreed that without the Peking duck, our long-anticipated dinner would have fizzled. So please remember: CALL THE RESTAURANT AND RESERVE THE DUCK AHEAD OF TIME.

Great food. Great view. Decent prices. Very good service. We had a party of 8, including a 2 and 4 yr old. Very accommodating.

Food 4 stars. The view 5 stars it s right behind of Beckham Palace. The service is 4 stars, right on the spot. Gongpao chicken is the best (5 stars).Almost authentic (lol) the spicy peppers, sweetness and saltiness are well balanced. Beijing roasted duck (3 stars). It would be perfect if it s crispier. But it is the best you can find in London. The pancakes are very fresh n soft which contributes to a great flavor to the whole dish. Sesame ribs are juicy n tender (4 stars). We literally ordered every dish on the menu. All decent if you know how hard to find Chinese food in London.

The food is just as decent as the service. I sat in the bar area on two different occasions and the service was the same. I had to flag down someone to bring more food or drinks. This restaurant is just ok but not great. Unfortunately, I had to change my initial rating and subtract a star from my original review. After receiving my food I sat in the bar area for 30 minutes and I have not been attended to by anyone. It's really disappointing.

I've had the pleasure of dining at Min Jiang three times and enjoyed each and every visit, enough so that my colleagues and I would make our next reservation a month before our trip and easily looked forward to it being the pinnacle of that trip. The experience starts the moment the elevator doors open and you get that first waft of the cuisine you're about to enjoy. You enter into a tremendously clean restaurant that is well-designed (albeit quite loud during peak hours due to the acoustics), tastefully chic, and offers a view you canNOT beat; it significantly elevates an already wonderful overall experience. I cannot attest to whether tables are always available at the time of the reservation because our party was always 30+ minutes late due to our event inevitably running long. However, that allows me to applaud and give a standing ovation to Min Jiang for graciously accommodating us each and every time, always holding our table (even during peak hours), and never refusing us to be sat late, even when it meant staff would need to stay later than usual. The food and drinks are superb and the menu wonderfully crafted, offering a variety of items I've rarely seen elsewhere or had executed as well. While I've never ordered the same thing twice and never had one item I did not enjoy, their Beijing Duck is truly the star of the menu. I cannot recommend enough planning ahead to request this as part of your Min Jiang experience (this may have changed, but it used to be a "must order in advance" item). The wait and kitchen staff are well-trained and very respectful, providing a nearly seamless dining experience. That said, considering the level of dining and price point, I was surprised to have twice had items forgotten long enough to warrant cancelling them (one beverage and one add-on food item; two different visits). I was also a bit surprised to have a very mechanic and cold presentation of our Beijing Duck rather than a chef offering enthusiastic energy to add to our excitement. However, the missed items were handled well and the happenstance a clear rarity, and all other chefs presenting this popular signature dish to neighboring tables were on the level. So surely not a deal breaker in either case. All said, easily a 4.5-star experience and top area recommendation.

We were scheduled to visit Kensington Palace and this is located very close by. Ordered the Peking Duck, which needs to be done in advance and supplemented with other dishes. Service was really good and the food was good. It was pricey but you only live once.

Good - The peking duck was delicious. The cocktail list was fun with lots of good choices. We also had the suckling pig which was also very good. We were seated at a window table and the Christmas lights over london were very pretty. Not so good - Toward the end of our meal, we realized that we hadn't seen our server. We waited. Other servers cleared our table. We waited. Finally, we asked to see our server, and someone came up five minutes later and told us that he had gone home. It took a while for them to find our check...we should have just left. We thought that was rather rude but typical of an establishment where there is a service charge regardless of the service received.

This is not your average Chinese restaurant. It has an excellent reputation among the Chinese community for its duck and when I visited there were more Chinese people in the restaurant than English, which was a good sign. However, it's not the food that this restaurant is most famous for. It's the floor to ceiling view over Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. You can see the shard, the London eye, the BT tower and all the best known London landmarks. My date said its the sort of place your Grandma would like because old people appreciate a view. I kind of see where he's coming from as it's not a modern view like you get at The Shard or Galvin at Windows. The decor is a bit fussy and there are lots of Ming style vases everywhere. The food is of a higher quality than your average Chinese but it's of a higher price too. £5 for three little dumplings that are not at all filling. Pretty to look at, healthy, but not enough to satisfy a hunger. A chicken and cashew nut main course was £16 and I bet it would be £8 in my local. But the cost of rice was the biggest shock - £9 for vegetable egg fried rice and it goes up to £13 for seafood egg fried rice. How can rice be more than £5? You can share it between two people, but that's one hell of a mark up. That said, the service is excellent, the views are to die for and the high prices keep out the riff raff. Get your mum - or grandma - to take you for a special occasion!

Let's get straight to the point. People come here for two reasons. The duck and the view. The view is great. I won't contest that but the duck... well the duck has a lot of space for improvement. The deal in China is this. Beijing duck is mostly served in restaurants specialising in duck. It can be ordered in various ways, the most popular and expensive of which involves serving up the skin from the duck's breast on a separate place and then serving the rest skin and meat together. This is done by a specially trained chef who delivers the duck on a cart and serves it up right in front of the table. The diner can choose between having the chef return the bones to the kitchen to be served as a fried dish or a soup. The cheaper option is having the duck served up without the separate crispy skin or the choice of soup or fried dish. This is the only option available at Min Jiang and there's a good reason for it. The duck served here simply wouldn't be able to survive the rigours of being served in the traditional way. The skin cannot be separated properly from the meat so it has to be served all together. For the average diner this shouldn't be a problem but because I've always eaten it the traditional way, I find having to pay such a high price (£60) for roast duck that is served skin and meat together to be a little disappointing. This is not to say that the duck is bad. Just that if you know what real Beijing duck tastes like and you were hoping to have some at Min Jiang, you will be a little disappointed. Come here for the duck (if you've heeded my warning) but not for the rest of the menu which is average and on the expensive side.

I actually came to this place because I have heard good reviews on the Peking duck and that they are authentic. Yes the experience having a Peking duck was authentic like what you get in China like the famous Datong. However, the duck itself was not as good as the value I was paying for. Some parts of the duck was dry and not as juicy. For the price I pay, I want my duck to be as juicy as the duck in Four Seasons. It was the same as the other Chinese dishes. Sub standard and nothing spectacular for high price. The worst thing was the wait staff. For the price I pay, I want professional and helpful staff. The staff there acted as if they are not happy working there. Not even a smile. Also they kept rolling their eyes when they are not happy with anything. I have seen them servicing a table and when they turn back, they just sighed and rolled their eyes. Incredibly black face. The only thing you really pay for here actually the view. Incredible view. Unfortunately, I will not be back. It is a one off experience. I rather go to Four Seasons if I have unhappy wait staff. At least their duck is cheap and juicy!

If you are looking for a high quality, elegant Chinese lunch or dinner with a view, then this is your spot. Beautiful top floor (tenth) setting at the Royal Garden Kensington Hotel, overlooking Hyde Park and right to the City and Canary Wharf. There are plenty of tables and the bar is lined up along the windows so you're pretty much guaranteed a good view. The wood-fired Beijing duck here has to be the highlight - sliced on a trolley and served fresh with the proper garnishes and arrangements - crispy duck skin dipped in fine granulated sugar; homemade pancakes with garnishes and succulent sliced duck; fried noodles with sliced duck. I ordered a side of steamed dim sum for good measure and to decide whether to come back for a weekend brunch - despite the price (£4.80+), I most certainly will be. This is authentic and refined Chinese at its best.

We really enjoyed our dinner and drinks. We were a table of 6 and chose one each of starter and main to split which was more than enough. Would love to come back in summer to enjoy the view of the park, but London by night was a nice backdrop as well.

I think two stars is generous, only because i feel bad for the bar and the wait staff who were great and the espresso martini I had was excellent. However, the food was bland, the duck was bland despite being sixty squids. that's right, SIX OH. Extortionate. The duck is split into two course, the starters which is your traditional Peking duck pancakes and a variety of pickles and your usual hoisin sauce, and the price also includes someone carving the duck in front of you, which isn't so amazing when you're already chinese. Also the duck wasn't wow, especially since you get better duck for cheaper prices *cough*fourseasons*cough*. The only good part of that course was the duck pancakes which were suPAH thin like popiah skin. (Showing off my malaysian lingo now!) But the second course duck was just weird- we ordered duck noodles but I could barely see or taste the duck and did they use nissin ramen noodles?! The rest of the food was forgettable, and thats really sad for such an upmarket place- it's got great views and great cocktails. And the portions were mean and small for the price paid. Okay, the concept of asian fusion desserts left me cold. I tried the pandan and salted caramel ice cream. The pandan was alright, but the salted caramel was just salt. The brownie cake with praline ice cream fared better, but at the end of the day, I could and have made a better brownie, and I really expected alot more from Min Jiang.

It's always horrible to go to a restaurant when they are obviously in the shit. Unfortunately, Min Jiang was in the shits when we revisited. From what I can deduce they had a "liquid related accident" and was also down 1 wait staff. We waited for 20 minutes for a table in an empty restaurant and the staff were about 10% as charming as last time; verging on rude. There were towels on the floor but no leak anymore. The food was edible, but not amazing like last time. And the restaurant was 1/2 empty. I can't imagine what service would be like if it was full. A used bath towel sat by a table for 2 hours, unnoticed by anyone who worked there, including the manager, who was prowling around, doing nothing. You're in the shit? Dude, you chip in. So unimpressed.

Very, very good food indeed. The only properly served Peking Duck in London and you really must pre-order it. Its too good to miss. The rest of the food is high quality with one or two not so great items but they are still several classes above a standard Chinese restaurant. The other big attraction in this nice room is the view out East over Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park. Worth it, even if you are a Londoner and have lived in this part of town for nearly 40 years like me. If you are visiting the city a meal here should be compulsory! My friend from Beijing was most impressed to see a real Chinese property billionaire eating Sunday lunch with his family here. The drawback is that although the Chinese staff are excellent, and some of the Brits too, the eastern Europeans are unhelpful and utterly charmless. One insisted on going through the routine of telling my chum from Beijing how to eat the duc (a bit like telling a Yorkshireman what Yorkshire pudding is for,) and turned and marched away on the last syllable of the rehearsed speech. Weird: she was far too young to have experienced an old fashioned communist restaurant but she had all of the charm of an old style commissar. That is the rant and you should not let it put you off. Oh, and book early for that Sunday lunch ...

Min Jiang signature dish is their Beijing Duck and you have to pre order it in advance. We thought we pre-ordered a whole duck during confirming the booking, but we were told that they didn't have our pre order. However, they managed to serve us a whole Beijing Duck. The duck is served in two courses, where the first serving consisted of the duck skin that you dip in sugar. The duck meat is served with pancake that we add hoi sin sauce and vegetable, or with garlic and pickle vegetable. Comparing with all the pancake serving ducks I have tried, I thought it was okay. But I found the duck fatty and I was not a fan of a thicker pancake. However it shows that the pancakes are homemade. The second serving we have the option to choose how we want the rest of the duck to be cooked - fried rice, fried noodle, soup or as a lettuce wrap. We choice the fried noodle that would be more suitable for branch. Along with the duck we also ordered some dim sum which I found average for London, especially for the price. Although I only think the restaurant was okay, the view of Kensington Garden is beautiful. To enjoy the best of the view it would be in the day time so a place for lunch.

Min Jiang has a beautiful layout and decor - wonderful interpretation of modern lines mixed with a hint of oriental touches. The restaurant overlooks a beautiful park -Min Jiang wins for view over some other hotel restaurants, particularly those overlooking Hyde Park where you oversee the main road before getting to see the park (it does make a difference, try it for yourself!) Most of the food was beautiful - their special duck is great and you get two dishes out of it. You start with the Peking duck - possibly one of the best I've had. The pancakes are amazingly thin and they give you condiments to make it "Shanghai" style which was cool. The second dish was the stir fried duck with spring onions and ginger. It's also great for a bit of drama and every table in the restaurant had ordered it (you have to pre-order). Other great dishes were the drunken chicken, the soft shell crab, the sesame and chilli oil chicken and the lobster noodle rolls (very novel take on the traditional lobster, spring onion, ginger and noodle combination). The only dish that was a bit of a miss for me was the ma po tofu - it was a bit too lemony for me. Everything was great and this place is good for a special occasion. I did think it was a bit pricy, but on the other hand, I'm comparing with places that are not in the same leauge like my local Chinese where a small bowl of rice doesn't cost £2!!! Try it if your stuck for a special occasion place !

I visited this restaurant with a relative and a friend who highly recommended the Beijing Duck. Reservations had to be made for the three of us, a couple of week in advance. The day before, we called to see if we could add another diner (friend) to our reserved table but unfortunately was told no. It seemed quite strange to us that any table that could fit three people could not accommodate four people. True to all the reviews, their Beijing Duck which was carved by a lady chef at our table was most excellent. The serve staff was efficient but not friendly. They seemed quite busy and it was a little difficult to catch their attention. The other dishes that we ordered were also delicious and I have no complaints about the food, except at the end. It appeared that we had ordered a little too much for our three person party and had quite a bit of leftovers. We requested that the food be packed to take home which I thought was very reasonable however, the service staff didn't think so. Their reply was "I'm sorry we don't do take-away". My advice to diners of this restaurant is to bring your own containers in case you have leftovers.

I started the year out really well when I had lunch on the 2nd of Jan. Gorgeous weather for spectacular views. Definitely, don't skimp out on the duck. 1 duck for about 4 ppl is perfect. It was def one of the best peking duck I've had. I really liked having the remaining duck in fried noodles afterwards. Other stuff Xiao long bao - good but definitely have had better elsewhere Eggplant - a little greasy looking but was probably the most tastiest dish Seabass - Was very underwhelmed by this - I didn't think it was anything special Tofu hot pot - another one where I think you might find something better in Chinatown.

New to London, local friends invited us to this 10th floor spot with a breathtaking view. We weren't seated next to the window but could still see the twinkling lights from our table and the crest of the London Eye. We pre-ordered the duck and started w a round of espresso martinis (excellent) and Chinese beer. The dim sum sampler came next and was a modest selection of various shumai - shrimp, pork, even a pumpkin choice for fall! The tasty duck came then and it was carved tableside and served with sprigs of green and a variety of sauces to wrap in. It was heavenly and rich. The sea bass followed which was light and a nice complement to bird, as well the well seasoned bok choy. We added flat noodles to round out and were too full for dessert, regrettably. Cannot wait to come back. Service is gracious and food was truly top notch.

If your idea of a Chinese restaurant is a grubby hole someplace in an urban jungle (and I admit mine was) - think again. This place is very high class indeed, with a price to match. Perched on the top floor of the Royal Garden Hotel, this restaurant does indeed have fabulous views all over Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park and beyond. Food is excellent, one speciality being Peking Duck, which we didn't try. But we ate a lot of seafood, including dim sum, which seems to be another speciality, and it was great. Say good bye to another cliche too - desert doesn't come in the form of a fortune cookie - ours was pomelo with mango cream - excellent, though I'm not sure how authentically Chinese this is. Instead of Chinese beer, there is an extensive wine list from all over the world, including China (but this was a bit steep, so we settled for Chilean instead). Service is quick, efficient and attentive. We were blown away when one waitress owned up to knowing Russian - this was very useful because my companion speaks no English. But don't expect the tip to be spelled out for you in the bill, as is customary in the UK. You have to work it out yourself and add it on top of what will tend to be a substantial sum - over 70 pounds in our case.

Worst service ever! Food took forever to arrive and waiters were very rude to us when we asked where the food was! DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!

I enjoyed the Min Jiang Bar a lot. The couches are really comfortable and the atmosphere is relaxing. We went with friends there and had a good time together. Food was awesome but it was pricey. We had Sum Platter which came really quick but there weren't so many people in the bar. It's not a place where I will go every week but I'll keep it in my list of nice bars that I visit from time to time when I get bored of the usually places.

Very pleasant premium Chinese restaurant on the top floor of a high class hotel with a great view over Kensington Gardens & Hyde Park. I had the tasty Hot & Sour Soup and the Dim Sum appetiser - not cheap, but very good. The service was delightfully impeccable with big smiles from all the friendly staff.

I'm giving it 4 stars for the view and service; went here with my wife when we visited London (since I'm from Canada and live in the US part time). We've had Peking Duck in Vancouver, New York, Los Angeles, and in Las Vegas. The Peking Duck was good but does not hold a candle to what I consider the best duck outside of Hong Kong - Blossom at the Aria Hotel in Las Vegas (no I'm NOT an MGM employee). The sea bass roasted in soya paste is excellent but equivalent to what you see in Japanese restaurants (higher end ones). The prices are steep but that goes with the ambience. Have been eating standard roast duck in Chinatown (Soho) London and it's not significantly superior to that. However, it's still a great place to go if you can afford it. Looking for great value for the money - this is NOT the place, but if you want a high end Chinese dinner in London and you can afford it, this fits the bill nicely.

Go for the Dim Sum. The rest of their menu is hit-or-miss, although they do have some hidden gems. Deep Fried Squid with chilli is not one of them. Pork Belly is interesting - not Canton style but flavourful and very rich (although I like the clay pot style with dark vinegar more, which I had at China Tang).

gorgeous view of london and directly overlooking kensington gardens. service was typical hong-kongnese style. food was actually really clean and tasty compared to other dim sum restaurants but surprisingly limited dim sum menu. for the price and service, customers are paying for the view. if you just want good chow (and respectable service), there are better places in london for dim sum.

Have you ever been to China... this place wasn't what I would think China to be like. But it's exactly what I expect a Chinese restaurant to be like. It does have an incredible view over Kensington park in London and passes my test for bringing 7-10 star quality girls on a date to. 6 and below gets Panda Express and a movie. Come on still not a bad date. Anyways, the color scheme is that of a communist country which makes sense (red, black, white with pinches of yellow lighting). It also has many Chinese artifacts (China the glass wear is from China right?) making it an authentic Chinese restaurant. Separating the PF Food Chains from the Legit Chinese Spots. The service is a little slow but efficient. The smells you experience while your food is being prepared makes you want to steal food due to impatience. My impatience got the best of me as I took the first bite of my appetizer it burnt me but the taste said Dimmy sum more. The Dim Sum platter gets a gold star from me. The tofu dish was disappointing and even us freeloaders weren't down to waste our stomach room for it. It had to much of a herbal taste possibly to much thyme. I loved my chicken dish, and my buddy PJ's and the one the waiter accidentally brought us. The service seemed like there was a language barrier which in a strange way made it more authentic. I'd come here again especially since the record label put us in the same hotel for convenience and it's in the exact same floor as my room. Ladies inquire in my room number later. Four stars for the food, quality and convenience, you lose a star for not being perfect and also a little pricy for my little pockets.

I love this place. I frequently go on a sunday for their dimsum. The soup dumplings are by far the best I have ever tasted. I also recommend ordering the duck in advance and the lobster noodles.

I totally forgot to review this place the first time round probably because of the potent and super tasty oriental themed cocktails which near enough knocked me out. But having been there again I have to say the one star review seems kind of crazy. The first time round I expected some gentle butt kissing as it was for a review but the second time round not only was the food just as delicious but the staff were as friendly and keen to talk about the food as before. I'm not a dim-sum expert but aside from being beautifully presented it was the best I've had in London and I feel like I've stuffed my face in enough Chinese restaurants to be enough of an authority. Finishing the meal we had mango cream with sago pearls, again I find it difficult to get tasty sago pearl dishes in London rather than a slushy mess...or even any asian dessert menu at all. To top it off Min Jiang's big pull is it's impressive view over West London. My only, ONLY criticism is the clientele...it is pricey so expect to have suitably snooty diners but you don't have to give a chuff if it's a special one-off, meal out.

I love this place. I can confidently say that this restaurant has the best view in London! I went there for dim sum, the variety is not huge but they are all delicious. I am satisfied. expect to pay about £30 per person including drinks. The interior decor is lovely; appeared to be a respectable Chinese retaurant. I saw lots of people having peking duck but it would have to be pre-ordered. I would recommend to everyone who is up for great ambience and great food. This has become one of my favourite place.

We stayed at the hotel for the weekend and as it was Chinese New Year we ate in the restaurant. Service was excellent, waiters were very attentive, wine glasses were never empty and the food was great. I think we were the last to leave as we were not going far and there was no rush in getting us out. Can't comment on the previous review but we had a great evening.

The view from this place is great. The staff was not only fast efficient and charming but also very personable. We had the Peking duck for our meal. It was one if not the best Peking ducks I've had in a very long time. Make sure you pre order the duck.

My wife and I dined at Min Jiang for the view that is worthwhile. Most of our fellow diners were Americans judging from accents. However, the food is mediocre with the famous Peking duck being average in my experience, not really better than an average Chinese fast food restaurant in America. With the exception of some pretty matchstick vegetables, the rest of the meal had bland flavors, including the prepared duck dish, and tasted as if it had been prepared perhaps days before and rewarmed. The service is attentive and dishes come out quickly. The environment is dressy. Because the food's mediocrity but beautiful views of the park, I suggest visiting for a drink in their comfortable lounge that affords the same view although the by-the-glass wine list is limited and cocktails are mediocre as well.

Vastly expensive, glossy Chinese with disappointing, inattentive service. Food lacked flavour, particularly the chicken with cashew nuts, and the famed, hugely pricey duck was very fatty. We have been before and had better meals there. Over £300 for six of us was ridiculous, with one bottle of their least expensive white wine and two further glasses.
