Made a reservation online which was easy. Came here for our anniversary dinner. The staff was very friendly and professional. They had signed a card and even our menu had an anniversary message for us. They also started us off with a free glass of champagne which was very nice. The tasting course was absolutely fantastic, especially the fish dish and pork dish. The food was as good as anything you would get in NYC or LA. The service was knowledgable and professional, and did not rush us. The price is expensive but it is certainly worth it for a special occasion. The restaurant is a little chilly, I saw some people with sweaters. Parking can be tricky since it's Kaimuki, just get there early. I would go back since they rotate their tasting menu. Ambience was a little sterile but overall nice.

Wow, what an incredible experience! Everything from the food, service, and drinks were absolutely exceptional. Innovative dishes worthy of Michelin praise and haute cuisine. Great wine pairing available with the chef’s tasting menu. The mocktails here are also fantastic; they made an incredible nonalcoholic penicillin using Smokey lapsang tea that was better than most cocktails I’ve had. Some standout dishes were the cured tuna, pork 4-ways, the fish, and the soup. Servers were fun, friendly, and really made the night. Hands down the best food I’ve had in Hawaii. Dressy spot, great for a date night, a celebration, or simply to have a night to remember.

Google
We came in as a group of 10. We were placed in the private room and we all did the tasting menu. Some of us got drinks and add ons. The service was ok and the food was decent but the way the bill was broken down with drinks on a separate check was a bit ridiculous. They refused to take more than one card and did not have a working atm close by. They allowed another person at the table to pay by card individually on the side. It took forever to close out and I was super late for the concert I paid to attend in Waikiki. It overall left a bad taste in my mouth and I haven't been back since. A restaurant of this supposed caliber should have more flexibility. Not recommended for large groups unless one person is paying the bill.

Google
Delightful meal, this place is Michelin star worthy! Everything was beautifully presented with such care and innovation. And all delicious flavors, to say the least. We also really enjoyed the cocktail pairing, which you rarely see offered. Each cocktail was well balanced and crafted to complement the flavors of each dish served.

Google
maybe the best dinner i’ve ever had??? the service was amazing- we chatted with all our servers for such a long and lovely time. 100% do the wine or cocktail pairing. truly elevated each dish!

Google
It’s a fantastic restaurant with some of the freshest ingredients I’ve experienced in my world travels, the staff was very attentive, really good explanations about all the food and all the substrates, good wine by the glass selection, excellent selection of mock cocktails

My husband and I went here for celebration. From outside, I was not sure. Also, I drove by here many times but never paid attention to this place. I side is totally different from outside. It is much nicer, stylish and good atmosphere. We took a counter seat. The acoustic in this place was a bit too loud for me, so I was glad sitting next to each other helped. This place may not be suitable for quiet romantic place though. The food was great enough. Portion was good, but for some people may find not full enough. I could have eaten more, so it was satisfied amount. (maybe better for health wise.)

Google
Michelin should give Miro Kaimuki Hawaii's first Star - this was phenomenal! I can't say enough great things about how kind and attentive the GM, my server, and the entire kitchen staff was. I highly recommend eating here!

Yelp
My husband and I had an incredible experience dining here! We were looking forward to Miro Kaimuki even though the website said they would not be able to accommodate strict allergies. However, we were pleasantly surprised and grateful when they did indeed make small changes to their Prix fixe menu to account for me being gluten free. The service was top notch; the staff were prompt, professional and knowledgeable. The ambiance was laid back with elegant feels. Overall, our experience was excellent and we will certainly be back!

Yelp
TL;DR Fantastic through and through. Well deserving of the hype. ----- My wife and I were finally able to dine at Miro for a Friday date night for their March 2025 prix fixe menu. Please note there is a parking lot behind the building that is available for customers to use. If there are no stalls available, there should be street parking in the neighborhood. In addition to the prix fixe menu, we ordered the cocktail pairing, the ahi and uni brioche add-ons, and the sourdough bread special. While I'm glad we tried the cocktail pairing, I probably wouldn't order it again. Of the five cocktails, my wife and I only really loved a couple of them. I'm not particularly snobby about pairing food and drinks, so next time I will just order directly from the cocktail menu or perhaps try the wine pairing. The food, on the other hand, was spectacular. I was impressed with each dish, and I was particularly blown away by the brussels sprouts and the dessert. The brioche add-ons, which are the only regular offerings, are an absolute must-order. We didn't order the caviar one, but if I had to choose only one, I would recommend the uni brioche. The uni's texture and flavor perfectly compliment the brioche. The brioche itself is mind-blowing. Seriously one of the very best bread dishes I've ever had. I would order a side of just the brioche if I could. The menu changes monthly, so there's no point in making recommendations or identifying specific dishes. However, based on this particular menu, I have no problem highly recommending Miro. My wife and I will definitely be back to try another monthly menu.

Yelp
Such a cozy night with good vibes. I've been wanting to try this place for a while, and it definitely didn't disappoint. The food leans toward Asian fusion with more of a fine dining twist. Really fun and creative dishes. What brought me in was the brioche toast with uni--it totally lived up to the hype. Honestly, the photo doesn't do it justice; it tastes even better than it looks. The drinks? Next level. If you're feeling a little bougie and just want to have a good time, this is the spot. The atmosphere was super chill--we had our own little corner, which made it feel even more intimate. Our server (who was also our bartender) was amazing. She gave us great food recs and actually took the time to chat a bit, which made the experience feel personal without being too much. I really love the vibe here. No one's judging, and the dress code is super casual--it's not that serious. Just show up, enjoy, and have a great time.

Yelp
The food is really good! Each course was very delicate and well made. Came here 30 mins early but still managed to get seated right away. Ahi brioche is one of our favorites The service however could be slightly better.

Yelp
I came here for dinner with family on a weekday night w a reservation. The wait staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The pre-fix menu was extensive with add ons (bread, for example) and caviar as a part of the starters. I got their signature cocktail which was so sweet, and delicious (you can't even taste the rum, which is what I prefer!). My family got the premium wine tasting as well, and they said that each dish paired so well. My favorite dish was the risotto, as it had an interesting curry kick to it. The asparagus ice cream on top of the salad was super innovative and fresh too. Overall, would recommend -- but a word of caution as you may walk away feeling satisfied but not extremely full given the portions are small. They do course it well, and the vibes are great, so overall a fantastic experience.

Yelp
What a unique experience to dine here on a special occasion. Really enjoyed most of the dishes that I have not tried in the heretofore. Highly commendable was the way they greeted guests and being attentive to their every needs and then same. Even when guests leave, they still warmly bet them farewell. They only offer one preset menu (with add ons/upgrades), so that was kind of disadvantageous to those who preferred own dish selections. No doubt, I gained invaluable dining experience from this outing. Big thanks to my loved one (C.E.) for the unforgettable treat!

Yelp
I dined on the final evening of their November 2024 menu, which featured a newly expanded seven-course format. Standout dishes included a delicate scallop paired with butternut squash, tender pork belly crowned with ultra-crispy skin, and zabuton steak served with sunchoke three-ways. One must-try item, their beloved brioche toasts, was available à la carte. As a first-timer, I couldn't pass up the trio with ahi tuna, Hokkaido uni, and decadent caviar. The buttery brioche brought to mind the DIY uni brioche dish served at partner chef Mourad's recently closed namesake restaurant in San Francisco. In addition to the dishes, I very much enjoyed the balanced craft cocktails. I was tempted by their cocktail pairing option, and saw that they also offer zero proof cocktails. We enjoyed the full dinner menu at the bar, and the service was excellent--warm, attentive, and knowledgeable. The combination of hospitality, atmosphere, and cuisine made Miro Kaimuki one of my favorite dining experiences of 2024!

Yelp
UPDATE: Honestly I'm a little sadden. I came here for my anniversary with my boyfriend and this is my favorite place to come to. We've been going to Miro for awhile. So recently for the month of November they added another course to the prix fixe. Which is a tiny 3 dish finger food snack to munch on. However, they cranked the price up to $130 per person just for this extra course that's not optional (like you have to get it). While everything tasted amazing and was super good. I don't think it's worth coming here anymore. I think adding a snack course to an already good menu is a little silly and then cranking the price higher is a bit much. Honestly, staff here is great and the food is amazing. But after that big price change and with an additional random snack course is a little baffling to say the most. I wish they had it like how they did it before.

Yelp
Miro, in the Kaimuki 'hood, is a French-inspired local restaurant by Chef Chris Kajioka. Their menu changes every month, using seasonal ingredients. Our menu included: +Hirame.Amazake.Hazelnut +Parsnip.Curry.Pomegranate - served with MIRO sourdough bread +Cod.Cauliflower.Olive +Duck.Kabocha.Cabbage +Smoked Chocolate.ThaiTea.Rum We also ordered their special starters, such as the raw oysters and the brioche trio (uni, toro, and caviar) - the oysters were brine-y, and the brioche was so buttery; its toppings were generous and delicious. Overall, the courses were tasty and wonderfully presented - I really did like the MIRO sourdough bread, as the butter that complemented it contained rosemary, but wasn't too overpowering. The cod, while smelling slightly fishy, was delicate. The duck, which most restaurants do not know how to prepare correctly, was delicious - perfectly rendered, juicy, and flavorful. Service was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant itself is casual, laid-back, and comfortable. There was a slight sewage-like odor coming from either the seats or the rear part of the restaurant, so, hopefully this can be fixed soon. Reservations are highly recommended. Street parking can be found in the area. +monthly seasonal menu +friendly service +street parking in the area

Yelp
Miro Kaimuki fulfills Chef Chris Kajioka's wish to open a place in the town he grew up in. In partnership with Chef Mourad Lahlou the two of them took over Cafe Miro. They retained the Japanese influenced French cuisine but introduced Chef Kajioka's preferences for styling and flavor. Each course's portion size is modest, with enough there to let you dabble at the edges, then fully taste what Chef Kajioka wants you to experience. The Japanese influence is clear - you get umami flavors when you combine the protein with what accompanies it. There is not a lot of fat and very little butter. Olive oil, citrus, and vinegar bring together the high impact flavors. One place you will find butter, and you should not miss out on it, is their mid-course bread service. It is a nice little round sourdough boule in a dish with a thin light crust and a pillowy fine crumb. If it looks familiar it may be because you've previously dined at Commis and recognize the style of service and taste. But it is the salted compound butter that you need to try. It changes but it always something you'll want to take home. The menu description is intentionally vague. Three words. That means throughout the course of a month's prix fixe Chef Kajioka is not locked into presenting every dish in the same way all the time. There will be subtle additions or subtractions depending on what is at peak availability. The interior is a modest shade of blue that ties into Chef Lahlou's San Francisco restaurants. The decor is not meant to distract you from what is plated in front of you. You will have a primary server but the front of the house works as a team to ensure consistent service. When Chef Kajioka is in the kitchen you will see him peering into the dining room to get a feel for the pace and the reception of his food. The regular menu is one of the best 5 course prix fixe in town. For a short while they did a Monday only 3 course prix fixe that was entirely different from the 5 course one, but that has ended. In the future, expect to see a 7 course prix fixe rolled out.

Yelp
Amazing food with great service. Eating at Miro was definitely an experience. With a seasonal and ever-changing menu, you get to try something new each time you visit but everything is delicious and cooked perfectly. Of the dishes we tried this time we visited, the sashimi in dashi broth was definitely the highlight and was one of the single best bites of the meal. The steak and scallops were perfect and the full 5 courses was just the right amount of food without feeling too full

Yelp
One of the best experience I've had this year so far. Excellent menu, well thought out combination of flavors, and just enough innovation to bring that oomph. My favorite element was the kimchi granita in the intro dish, and the star of the menu was in fact the white miso crème brûlée which happened to be on the house. We thoroughly enjoyed the well balanced, sophisticated flavors and left satisfied. One star was deducted because I thought they could've done better with the wine pairing. Two out of the total bottles I drink frequently at home - I expected to see some interesting and local options that would do well to complement the relatively interesting menu. That said, will absolutely stop by again when we're on Oahu next.

Yelp
Miro Kaimuki was awesome! The combination and quality of the dishes was amazing. Who would think hiramasa sashimi with radish kim chee and grape served with slush ice and a cucumber tasting sauce could be so good. It was tasty, refreshing and a great way to start the dinner. Every dish that followed was unique in its own way. Each one tasty, no ingredient was overwhelming and all complemented each other nicely. The menu is prix fixe, $100 per person. For the quality of ingredients and creativity of each dish, it's worth it. Rarely will you be able to experience a meal like this. The place is very pleasant and comfortable. Parking is easy, there's a lot in the back of the restaurant. The service was excellent. I highly recommend Miro Kaimuki for any occasion!

Yelp
We were interested in the March 2024 prix fixe menu and wanted to try it. It was just a night out for me and my family so we wanted to treat ourselves. Salmon. Basil. Strawberry: The salmon sashimi was fresh. The sauce paired with the salmon was delicious and refreshing. It was a light starter and a perfect way to move onto the next dish. Golden beet. Onion crème. Dill: This included their sourdough bread with wakame butter. The bread was delicious as usual. Super moist and crunchy on the crust. The wakame butter is amazing. I would love to buy the butter just on its own. The golden beets were fresh. The onion crème was the star. It adds so much flavor to such simple ingredients. Scallop. Vadouvan. Hijiki XO: This dish is like an elevated take on jook. The rice porridge was flavorful. You can taste some of the bacon fat. It was super rich. The scallop was cooked perfectly. The size was also perfect for the portion of this dish. Short Rib. Asparagus. Satsumaimo: I normally don't really like short ribs because they tend to be dry. The short rib for this dish was the best I've had. It has the right amount of fat and the meat was moist. The sweet potato puree was delicious. It reminded of the baked sweet potato in Japan. Banana. Taro. Vanilla: The dessert was so good. The banana and vanilla ice cream were not too sweet. The shredded taro chips were a nice addition to add texture and balance to the dessert. One of the best desserts we have ever tried. Escargot: This was an off-menu item. The last time we tried this the sauce was very salty. We tried it again the second time and it was better. It wasn't too salty and the escargot was rich with a subtle curry taste. The puff pastry on top was a nice touch. Overall, a great dinner experience. We enjoyed both the August 2023 menu and the March 2024 menu. It was hard to choose which we liked the most since both were incredible and different. Service was amazing. There were multiple of people that explained the menu and the ingredients for each dish. I also had the opportunity to speak to James and asked him about how the menu was planned every month. It was incredible how the Miro Kaimuki team was able to create such creative and original menu each month. Definitely would return again.

Yelp
We absolutely loved our experience here. The food was amazing, we had the May menu with the cocktail pairing and premium wine pairing. I'm really glad we tried both, as we preferred the wine pairing for the last 3 courses and preferred the cocktail pairings for the first 3 courses. That being said, we did enjoy all of the drinks. Our server was Kat, who was wonderful, and all the service staff worked seamlessly together to make our experience fabulous. The ambiance of the restaurant was welcoming and boisterous. Overall, we had a fantastic time and highly recommend!

Yelp
Holy cow, what an amazing, well curated experience! My honey booked a table for us at Miro the evening we got engaged, and it was the perfect place to celebrate! The restaurant hosts a prix fixe rotating menu that changes monthly and may be accompanied by a cocktail or wine pairing. We were greeted with a celebratory glass of champagne (they seemed to be celebrating a lot of big events that particular evening), and the beautiful dishes kept rolling from there. There are options for add ons, including a nigiri toast creation that was our favorite bite! The service was wonderful and staff seems to truly take pride in the menu, and entertaining diners. Would absolutely recommend for a special occasion (or a week night dinner if you've got a casual $500 lying around), and take someone who LOVES FOOD because you'll be eating a lot!

Yelp
Miro Kaimuki: where the food makes you smile, the service feels like home in the absolute best way, and you always leave happier. Chef Chris impresses every single time. The August 2024 menu was phenomenal! The detail in each dish is so intentional and presented in such a way that ensures you feast with your eyes first and builds up the excitement. Cannot wait to be back! Miro is an absolute must do. 100/10

Yelp
This post is regarding the brunch menu (but the dinner course is just as delightful!) -- my family ordered various foods and you can't go wrong with your choice. Our server, Camry (sorry if my spelling is wrong) and the chefs went above and beyond when I asked if ahi brioche was available for brunch. While it's not on the brunch menu and they don't ordinarily serve it, they were kind to accommodate me and my family! You absolutely cannot go wrong with Miro Kaimuki!

Yelp
I came here on a Monday and it was empty when we got here around 530 pm. People started to slowly fill in and the place soon became packed around 700 pm. Reservations are needed. This is a cute date spot! The food here was great and the service was even better. My party sat at the bar and Paul really took care of us. The drinks were amazing! Mondays bistro "prix fixe" course has three items fixed at $72 a person. You can add on additional items, for additional costs, like: oysters, escargot, foie gras (liver), and a popular seafood briosche platter (with uni, toro, and caviar). I thought this course wasn't going to fill me up but I was walking out of there stuffed!

Yelp
Another spectacular meal at Miro. We try to go every year and it does not disappoint. I love that they rotate their menu every month. The stand outs for November were the scallop (to die for), steak (excellent), and shrimp toast (awesome). Don't forget a cocktail as well, they are so delicious.

Yelp
Food was good but a bit overpriced. The five course menu is $100/person. Appreciate that it's 5 courses and at the 100 price point it seems like a pretty good value. Unfortunately the entrees are a bit small. I left a lil bit hungry so I think there could have been just a lil more on the plate in my opinion otherwise no complaints. The cocktails are solid and fairly extensive. Overall, not sure if I'd come back but was glad to be able to check this place out. If you're not very hungry, this might be the perfect size date night dinner

Yelp
Prix fixe lunch menu was solid, but mains fell short. Detailed breakdown below: **Service, 3.5/5** Attentive service and food came out quickly, although I did get the feeling that the group was being pressured to spend more (heavily encouraged to get cocktails and add ons), which felt a bit icky. **Decor & cleanliness, 5/5** Absolutely gorgeous interior. **Price & portion, 4/5** The price is fair for the portion sizes (mains are full-sized), but it would have felt more worth it if I really enjoyed the mains. **Presentation of the food, 5/5** Stunning! The care and thought put into the presentation really comes through. **Taste of the food, 3.5/5** The starter (smoked trout dip) and dessert (cream puff) were both phenomenal! Tons of flavor and perfectly contrasting textures that were super fun to eat. However, both of the mains that we tried were under-seasoned. My partner got the wagyu loco moco which was incredible to look at, but lacked salt. My crispy confit duck leg was also stunning, but the meat itself was a bit dry and the entire course needed more salt. I know Miro Kaimuki is better known for their dinner menu, and I'm still open to trying that out, but was disappointed that their lunch menu didn't shine as much as I expected.

Yelp
Birthday celebration at Miro! I have not been there over a year: still nice friendly service but the menu has changed from 5 course to 7 course dinner (see my picture). Not much add on any more: we missed fresh baked warm round bread yet their dishes are enjoyable and extremely delicious! Miro Kaimuki is still our favorite place to celebrate Birthday. Mahalo!

Yelp
This is the sister restaurant of my favorite sushi place in hawaii when they were open. I knew I had to try this place. I did the tasting menu and also chose the additional uni brioche and the Japanese A5 options. In all it was 8 courses. Over all this is one of my top restaurants in Honolulu. Highly recommend this place if you love French Japanese food. Each plate is so exquisite.

Yelp

Yelp
Great 5 course menu that rotates every month and an even better drink pairing as well! The dishes were all very yummy and paired well with the wine. My favorite was the escargot! Yum! Service was top notch and definitely a pleasure. Will be coming back!

Yelp
Came here with my husband for dinner midweek. The inside is very modern and tables were a decent distance apart which was nice. Lighting was perfect for food photos. We ordered the premium wine pairing and cocktail pairing. I preferred the wine, but it was fun to try the cocktails because that is a less common pairing option. In addition to the tasting menu, we added on escargots and a piece of the Uni toast. I also supplemented wagyu instead of lamb. No regrets there. My favorite course was the dessert, which is very unusual for me! The strawberry rhubarb dish was the perfect ending to the meal and wasn't overly sweet. Least favorite course was the lamb/wagyu course. It felt the least unique as so many tasting menus throw a version of this onto their menu. Still fine but didn't stand out relative to the other courses. My one criticism is that the meal went incredibly quickly. There was no time to breathe between courses. When a dish was taken away it was immediately replaced with the next course. Also, the supplemental items (for example, the escargots) come at the same time as other courses which makes the pacing feel even faster. It looked like 4-tops got a much more relaxed pacing, so that's something to consider if booking.

Yelp
Oh Miro, how you have change my view of dining! I usually reserve Miro for special occasions because being served a pre-fix menu and not having to think about a single thing is such a treat. It is reservation base and is located in Kaimuki, area of most delicious food. There is some parking in the back of the building. The parking is shared by the Hawaii National Bank I believe. Parking is pretty compact but I have not had problems finding a spot in the past. Outwardly, it's a discreet single colored restaurant. But once you enter, you're washed with the thoughts "omg this is fancy" haha. Hostess and staff all around are courteous and warming. There's plenty of tables, a bar section, as well as a section for private parties. I'll add that the section for private parties is a stretch of a table filling four couples. It's quite intimate and you do not hear much from the main dining room, loved that! Also, I believe we did have assistance from a Sommelier during a private party and they were kind and helpful. He showed interest in the descriptions of the wines of usually enjoy, gave his recommendations based on the menu + our likes. We didn't feel pressure to choose a specific bottle, many options were given. Very grateful for that experience. There is a new pre-fix menu created monthly by the Chefs. I've also heard that the Chefs from around the world would collaborate on the menu too. I may not be the best judge of cuisines but I do enjoy them and appreciate those that have made them. I've enjoyed very meal, every course here! Staples that my husband and I get each time we come are the lovely Uni topped on their brioche and escargot. The pictures I posted were for my birthday, and they gave such sweet treats for me. Always a delicious and adventurous time with you, Miro.

Yelp
10/10 food 10/10 service It was our last night in Honolulu and after a friend recommended this place, we figured why not. We're so glad we listened because it was definitely a highlight of the trip. Food was delicious and service was amazing. If we ever come back to Honolulu, we will definitely go again.

Yelp
This was our first visit and we had a great time. We had a dinner reservation for 5pm and the meal lasted til 7:20pm. The food was interesting, beautiful, and delicious. We did the cocktail pairings and those were fun too. We added a few items to the meal, foie gras, uni brioche and ahi brioche. Several tables also had these and some also had the escargot which looked fabulous as well. The service was smooth. The space was comfortable. The sourdough bread was outstanding. Our favorite dishes were the beef cheek, the kajiki, and hiramasa. I also really liked the black sesame macaron they brought out as a surprise. Yum.

I loved Miro, and have been a handful of times for dinner and brunch before but my recent experience with them fell flat. At $135 per person (tax, tip and a glass of wine it came out to $188 per person no other add ons) for 7 courses you'd expect to be full or satisfied after the meal but I unfortunately was not and nor were the other 3 people in my party. The courses were great but the serving sizes were smaller compared to what we've had before. They also no longer have their signature bread, which is probably part of why we weren't satisfied afterwards. My server did her best to take care of us but it seemed like the kitchen was backed up. In between three of our courses we waited another ~15minutes after our plates and silverware were taken away for the next course. This was surprising considering the whole restaurant is basically eating the same thing. We still tipped 20% since that didn't seem like it was our server's fault. (Side note, I went to Leila last month and everything came out right away and we were ABSOLUTELY stuffed for less, even with the uni brioche and drinks on that side we paid $160 each.) It was my boyfriend and I's first fine dining date together and I felt pretty terrible for dragging him out. I ended up walking with him to zippys after to get him a chili rice. We sadly won't be back anytime soon.

Yelp
From the street view, it looked like the restaurant is closed because all glass were painted. But upon entering, the restaurant and bar looked chic. Service is very good - attentive servers who come dish after dish to introduce our food and refill our drinks. Food was prix fix for $100/pax and extra for wine pairing. Food is very impressive and sourdough is not to be missed. Best of all, the ESCARGOT is to be had! Gosh was it delicious and it smells perfect. I just love their rendition of this dish. Taste and presentation were on point. We were so full from the 4 dishes plus a dessert.

Yelp
What the heck -- 5 stars! Miro in Kaimuki absolutely blew me away. The beef cheek was melt-in-your-mouth tender, so flavorful, and just a wow moment. I wasn't expecting to be so impressed by the oyster, but it ended up being one of the best things I ate all night -- super fresh and briny, perfection. The beet salad took me by surprise too, in a good way. I was expecting something a little sweeter, but it leaned more savory, and I'm not mad about it. The ahi toast on the brioche bun? Oh my gosh. That buttery, airy bun paired with the ahi was dreamy. Also, the white fish was amazing -- cooked perfectly and full of flavor. And can we talk about that cold paté with lychee jelly? It was so unique and unlike anything I've tried before. Even though the drinks were good (not quite as standout as the food), the Ube dessert at the end sealed the deal for me. The atmosphere is clean and modern, and we sat at the bar where the bartender was so friendly and knowledgeable. A perfect night all around!

Yelp
Delightful meal, this place is Michelin star worthy! Everything was beautifully presented with such care and innovation. And all delicious flavors, to say the least. We also really enjoyed the cocktail pairing, which you rarely see offered. Each cocktail was well balanced and crafted to complement the flavors of each dish served.

Yelp
I had one of my favorite meals at Miro while on Oahu for a week. It's got a lowkey contemporary but modest feel which I appreciate. We made reservations for ~8p on a Sunday and it was maybe half full. Our waiter was very charming and walked through cocktail options, menus, and more. I highly recommend the Fire Blossom cocktail; it's a sweet drink but not too sweet with lovely yuzu flavors and a hint of sakura. We also got a few oysters to start which were lovely as well. There were two of us and two set menus available; the 'prix fixe' at $92 (seems to be more seasonal dishes), and the 'classic' at $175 (seems to be more year-round signatures). The pricing felt strange to me because the classic was so much more expensive, but we decided to get one of each menu so we could split and enjoy all the dishes and that turned out to be a really great idea and I recommend it! We had tasty dishes from both menus. From the prix fixe, my favorite was a salmon and squash dish. From the classic, it was potato and truffle casoncelli. And they also served us a really delicious bread with a super cute honeycomb butter which made me happy lol. And the honey fig almond dessert had great texture and was also delicious. If you want to splurge on good food while in Oahu, Miro is a fantastic spot to do so.

Yelp
it wasn't worth it. i was looking forward to coming here. we came with a party of 5. each of us had a tasting menu. just felt hungry after. the ahi brioche was good, but that's all that stood out. service wasn't the greatest. we waited a long long time in between courses so much that the last two course we asked for it to be fired together. wine service was not there. we had a couple of cocktails and wine, but again slow service so couldn't order a second round. they didn't look too busy, nor didn't look understaffed. just seemed like they were all paying attention to another table. i figure if we are gonna spend a pretty penny maybe we should get some service here and there. and maybe not still be hungry after the coursed meal.

Yelp
Miro Kaimuki has been on my radar for a long, LONG time. I've passed by it countless times--always curious what's inside as the shades are always down. I finally had a reason to go, and it did not disappoint! Miro has been in Kaimuki for almost 30 years. It's located at the corner of Waialae and 9th Avenue, next to Hawaii National Bank. Only open 5-9pm (closed on Tuesday). There's a weirdly configured parking lot with TIGHT spaces and a tight one way lane behind the building. Just cross your fingers people park within the lines.. You can park in the "bank only" spots as it's closed at that time. Reservations are recommended, and you can easily make them online. Inside is spacious and your usual contemporary look and feel. Tables were spaced out well. However, it gets quite loud in there that it's hard to hear yourself. The host was pleasant and our server was awesome. Theres only a prix fixe menu that changes every month highlighting seasonal items. My review is for June (I KNOW! I'm behind!). However, there's a LOT of extras that you can add on to your meal, which should be on a menu because I was not able to remember (and hear clearly) every single that was said from my server since everything included a lengthy description of the ingredients and how it's prepared, so of course I did forget an item that I initially wanted to order when I first heard it. Be that as it may, let's begin! We were given complimentary champagne to celebrate our anniversary, which was a nice touch. We started with Fresh Kumamoto Oyster with a Mango Salsa, Champagne Mignonette, Egg White Foam, and Basil Pesto. Wow, what a bite! Everything went well together, each accentuating the sweetness and cutting into the brininess of the oyster. Also enjoyed the presentation with the oysters on top of colored stones. First course on the menu is Hamachi Sashimi with a Watermelon Vinaigrette, lychee and micro greens. This was on the light and bland side. The sauce did not come through to the fresh hamachi and dare I say--watery. Next was an add on, which seems to be a top favorite, the brioche that's from the Breadshop a block away. You can choose from fresh ahi, uni, and caviar. We choose the ahi and uni. These were smaller than I imagined from the photos, but they were quite rich and delicious. The brioche was quite oily (probably why it's so good), moist, and crunchy. The ahi was fresh and melt in your mouth. The best was the uni. Super fresh, rich and creamy, and went very well with the brioche. Second course was braised carrots with honey crème fraiche and fried sunflower seeds. Simple and delicious. Looks modest, but the carrots were tender and sweet and went well with the crème fraiche. Sunflower seeds added a nice crunch. Next add on was Fresh (just flown in) Maryland Soft Shell Crab. It was the first day offered, and WOW!! What a treat! Probably the best thing of the meal!. I haven't had soft shell crab in such a long time, and I have never seen it offered anywhere that's not in a bun or just deep fried alone. It came with a corn gremolata, which paired well with the perfectly seasoned and fried soft shell crab. The meat was tender, rich, and buttery. I'm excited just thinking about it! Third course was the Smoked Salmon with a zucchini sauce and tomato jam. This was excellent! Perfectly cooked salmon that was moist and tender with just the right amount of smokiness. The tomato cut into the rich salmon nicely. Well balance of flavors. Fourth course was Roasted Duck Breast with a Cherry Jus and Roasted Eggplant. The Duck was prepared beautifully. Tender and juicy meat. Rendered fat, and crispy skin. The eggplant was surprisingly very good. Maybe even better than the duck! It had excellent char and excellent flavor, and cooked just right. Not too soft or firm. Last course was dessert. Mahleb cookie with ricotta cheese and grape jelly. It was good. Not overly sweet, and you can taste each individual ingredient. Since it was our anniversary we were treated to a nice Crème Brûlée Tart. It was very good. Nice crust! Rich and creamy. A nice way to end the amazing meal. Overall, Miro was an experience! Enjoyed every single bite and every sip of wine. I appreciate the fact they change their menu every month to highlight seasonal items that are at its peak freshness and quality. The freshness of the mango and soft shell crab really stood out. The add-ons are definitely necessary and are where you'll find the best dishes as just the prix fixe menu alone wouldn't be enough for a meal as the portions are just a few bites. It was $88 for the prix fixe, plus $48 wine pairing ($75 for premium wine), plus all the add on dishes. Yes, those add ons can easily push you to spending nearly $500. That's if you're able to catch all the add on items the server tells you. I missed escargot and Foie gras! Service was excellent from start to finish. Everyone was courteous, professional, and friendly. I'll definitely come back again! Soon!

Yelp
I have been to this restaurant a few times. The experience had been good every single time. The food was so delicious and they are never pushy about upselling food items. All the servers were friendly. I highly recommend this place

Yelp
Review for late night, which opened Nov. 11: I love Miro! Their service especially, food, and drinks are on point, but their first return to late was noticably off, even one of the servers who later came by to talk with us apologized when we mentioned it. Granted it was their first late night in awhile, but they didn't expect it to be that busy, and they weren't quite prepared. Walked in at 10pm to a packed bar area, with very few tables available. Luckily, it was just 2 of us, so there were two spaces available to us, which they allowed us to choose. We chose the table that wasn't near to the kitchen door. However, it took them quite some time to figure out if the table we chose was open and reconfiguring it to accommodate the larger party next to us, who were squished on their table. Menus were brought, and we waited and waited and waited for a server. Eventually one came and took our drink order. Then, we waited some more. Other parties ordered and seemed to be waiting also. We finally had to flag a server down to order food. When we asked about how a certain dish was prepared, he didn't know and said he'd have to ask the kitchen. That was a bit surprising, as Miro's servers during dinner service can always speak to the dishes. We ordered one of everything and then waited again. With a table ordering after us, getting their food before us. Not a big deal because we had no where to be, but still. Tables next to us, including ours, had to ask for silverware, even after the food came out. Food was up to Miro standard. Tho the kitchen missed sending out the fries we ordered, it was something we could pass up because it was just fries with mentaiko mayo. The rest of the small plates had layers of textures and flavors. Of the entire menu, the ribs were my least favorite. Perfectly cooked...meat easily came off the bone, but it was too sweet for my liking. I'm a tart BBQ style ribs kinda girl. Another minor addition could have been more wonton chips with the negi toro. Although the service wasn't the best and I'm still surprised at that, I won't write Miro's late night off and am headed out this weekend to try their brunch...hoping for better

Yelp
Aloha, seriously, Miro is by far the best restaurant in Honolulu. As a major foodie who eats at M'*d restaurants. Trust me when I say this is an amazing restaurant. The menu changes monthly and I do dine there a minimum of 12 times a year and if the meal is so fabulous, I may dine there more than once a month. Here's a few of my many pictures eating here. Is you mouth watering yet? Enjoy!

Yelp
The food and service was excellent. Our only complaint was the atmosphere. Seats were uncomfortable and climate very cold. Needs some softening.

Yelp
There are too many good things to say about Miro!! I love going here especially for date night. My boyfriend sometimes comes here just to sit at the bar for a couple of drinks and order a couple of supplements. Miro is definitely on the pricier side and can get very expensive if you order drinks and supplements. The uni toast is TO DIE FOR, but honestly so is the ahi and caviar toast. Please get at least one of them when you go because you will definitely regret it if you don't!! This review is more tied to the July 2023 menu that I had a couple of weeks ago. The first time I went to Miro was during a collab they had with a chef from Miami. This chef has Peruvian background and everything was great! I think it's so awesome that Miro's menu is always changing and there's always something new to try. July 2023 menu: OMFG AMAZING! Every single dish we had was unbelievable! It was one of those meals where you keep saying "wow this is so good" with every bite you have. Miro is truly amazing with how intricate they are with their dishes. My favorite dish this month would probably have to be the cabbage and turnip, as well as the cold soup. Honestly, was not expecting for these starters to be my favorite part of the meal. I would also like to personally shoutout Michael, the bartender for always taking care of my boyfriend and I. It's always a pleasure talking to and being served by him. Thank you for always making our experience at Miro unforgettable!

Yelp
A rare fine dining experience in Hawaii! We booked for 6pm to celebrate birthdays, and arrived about 5 minutes early. Lots of parking in the bank parking lot on 9th ave, with street parking if needed. Miro is subtle and unassuming from the outside, with frosted doors serving as a gateway to warm interiors and friendly faces. The greeters led us to a cozy corner before our server Danielle came by to explain how the prix fixe menu worked ($100/pp). She also offered a number of off-menu specials, such as escargot or brioche with toppings - just make sure you ask about the prices! Actually, just make that a habit, because any add-on or substitution at Miro seems to incur an unspoken upcharge. One day I'll be rich enough to just carelessly say yes to everything. It would be nice if they had a small info card with the menus to make it easy for servers and diners alike. I'd also note that previous reviews show two prix fixe options, but we were only offered the monthly one. I asked Danielle about the Cognac used in their cocktails, but she wasn't sure what was used. We started with a Coffee in Marcona ($20) - almond. vanilla. bourbon. None of the drinks had prices, so I'd go off of that price point. While it's little pricey, the drink was legitimately delicious and unexpectedly strong. Sweet, woody, and savory. We started with their ahi brioche ($14/p), a beautiful slab of lightly torched, sashimi grade ahi, laid over an avocado spread, atop a nigiri-sized brioche slab. The brioche was crispy, flaky, buttery, and delicious. Lets get into the courses: - "Hamachi. Sun-Dried Tomato. Cucumber." Incredibly rich slices of hamachi, resting in a salty, savory broth, with a beautiful color palette. Pea sized pickled cucumber balls just explode with flavor, and another pickled topping injects a fiery spice to the symphony. What a solid start. - MIRO Sourdough bread - served with salt flakes and furikake butter. Danielle said they used to charge extra for bread, but changed to complimentary. Warm, tangy, and filling - I'm glad they give it to everyone now! - "Sunchoke. Mushroom. Sweet Onion." Presented in a bowl with a poached egg of sorts - the yolk is perfectly softboiled, with the whites whipped up, above a mix of sunchoke and mushrooms. I've never had or heard of sunchoke before, but it was a lot like potato. - "Sea Bass. Celery Root. Shio Koji." Embarrassingly enough, I've never had sea bass either - what a great way to try such a light, flavorful fish. It was wrapped in flaky pastry and resting in the shio koji broth, another component I haven't had. Complex and fun. - "Pork Belly. Green Farro. Date." Unfortunately, the dish I was most looking forward to and was most let down by. The crispy kale, sweet date sauce, and roasted turnip were wonderful. The pork belly was way too fatty, and the farro was mushy and underwhelming. The SO substituted pork for Wagyu Rib Cap ($35). It was much better than the pork belly, but a pretty steep substitution for two slices of steak. - "Rice. Mango. Soy." Fun take on a rice pudding, with ice cream, cacao, and somewhat crispy topping. The mango elements were very timid, but I enjoyed the dessert overall. They also brought out a cute little birthday cream puff, which was a nice gesture for our birthday celebration. We had an after-dinner Jasmine Dragon Pearl Tea ($6) at Danielle's recommendation. Well brewed and perfect to settle your stomach. It was a real food safari for us, and we had a great time! Definitely a "special occasion only" price point, but we would definitely return to explore a new menu.

Yelp
Such a let down. The first course was actually very good, but it was downhill fast from there. Service was very good and ambiance was okay, but not good enough for me to give this place a second try.
