Mix'd Up Burgers - Review - Grant Park - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"You’ll be standing elbow-to-elbow inside this small Grant Park burger shack that barely has enough room for the order counter. Or, just hit Mix'd Up's drive-thru, which should be your first option whenever you need a burger and fry combo that’s way better (and more bespoke) than conventional fast food joints. Straitlaced types can get a standard beef burger with the usual toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, and cheese), but you should really try one of the jazzed up options, like the Texan (topped with tender pulled pork, salty bacon, BBQ sauce, and a mound of tangy chipotle ranch slaw). Sure, there are better burger spots elsewhere in the city. But these meaty beauties are good enough for an on-the-go option—and their burger and fries are as customizable as paper dolls. Want your fries with crawfish and chili? Or what about subbing your beef patty for lamb and drenching it in tzatziki? If you need time to decide, maybe you do head inside to avoid backing up the drive-thru line. Food Rundown Mix’D Up Burger This classic burger hits the spot when you want something traditional—an 8-ounce angus beef patty sitting on a toasted brioche bun with melty american cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion. But you can play it safe anywhere else, order something with character, like the Rockin’ Hero. Rockin’ Hero Get this. It’s a thick lamb burger doused in creamy tzatziki and topped with lettuce, tomato, and a bunch of tangy feta. Plus, it’s also the lightest we’ve felt after consuming a burger. Philly One of the few non-burger items on the small menu, the philly is a solid cheesesteak when you aren’t in the mood for a burger (we don’t know when that would be, but you do you). It’s nothing spectacular (it has peppers, onions, and gooey cheese), so we prefer the burgers. Fries Thin house-cut fries can be topped with everything from pulled pork to queso. But they’re well-seasoned enough that even with no toppings the fries are a hit." - Juli Horsford

First customer service was not good, once I was passed to a lady with braids. She had an attitude as I was talking to her, and nothing about my request were difficult, which involved me asking for ketchup and ranch. Second, I got onion rings as my side. For content the onion rings are priced at $6, no problem, I paid it with no mind. When I arrive home, I see that I literally was given 4 onion rings, 2 of them only being onion rings size and then the other 2 tiny pieces as you can see in the picture. Burger was alright, asked for no tomatoes, there’s 2 slices of tomatoes on the burger…. Very dry in my opinion as well. Overall, I would beware of the customer service as well as the side portions.

Google
Got burgers with the drive through here. Food was great! Definitely recommend if you are looking for a fast food alternative that's great and local. Lots of burger options, plenty of beef patty alternatives as well! The buffalo fries were great but could use a bit more sauce!

Google
Was looking for a quick bite to eat while working in the area and found this burger spot. Hands down one of the best burgers I've ever had. I ordered the Cajun burger with garlic parm fries and I'll just say, they're very generous with portions. Burger was cooked and seasoned perfect and the fries were perfect also. 100 percent will be making a trip back here even if I'm not working.

Google
Small drive thru only. Didn’t see much parking or any walk up ordering or inside eating. Gentrified area beginning. No line around 1pm Thursday. Ordered lamb burger. Order came fast. $15.80 for burger and fries from Atl restaurant is expected so I’m expecting to taste the hype when you're known for burgers. The lamb burger had a homemade taste with decent seasoning and it also had a non-uniform shape like my auntie would do. Good flavor in the burger, but you have to like lamb or the lamb taste may throw you off. Would’ve liked a wider patty that exceeds the bun a bit. My onions were diced but sliced would’ve preferred more pronounced onions. I switched cheese and tzatziki sauce for ketchup and mustard which I’m sure changed the taste but can’t be by that much. It wasn’t anything to rave. The bread was a bit thick & texture didn’t push as tasty. I only ate the top piece. The fries were soft although Cooked and real potatoes, they weren’t close to crunchy. I don’t prefer ketchup packets thrown on top of the fries because you were touching them with your hands.

Google
This is a quick stop/good burger location! I enjoyed their Rockin Hero lamb burger while my friend ordered the Patty Special smashed burger washed down with a fruit punch Jarritos! These were both delicious options. There’s no modifications to some burgers here, but there may be some leeway with others. Our waiter had a great attitude and was accommodating. I would have loved to have a bit more feta on my burger and we had hoped to dine in, but there were two benches there so at least we got to sit, eat, and view our surroundings. We enjoyed our visit overall and there’s a drive thru here for your convenience, so stop by for these and more delicious burgers!

Google
This was one of the best burgers I have ever had. I got the Santa Fe burger with onion rings. My food was fresh made to order and my wait was not long at all. I went through the drive through and the man taking and making my order was very nice and welcoming. I will definitely coming back regularly. I loved my experience.

Google
If you want a nice big, juicy burger that tastes amazing and cooked very well. Then this is the spot for you. I haven't had a good burger like this one. It's been a long time. Definitely if i'm in that area for lunch, that's exactly where i'm going again to eat

If you're craving a delectable fully loaded smoked bacon cheese burger 🍔 with very flavorful crispy fries 🍟 then Mix'D Burger burgers 🍔 located at 313 Boulevard SE Atlanta, GA is the SPOT📍! Upon arriving🚗, I was greeted by flavorful aromas. The server introduced the menu which was the hardest to choose from. This made ordering very convenient. MIX'D Burger has excellent customer service ✅

Yelp
Omg. The good is always hot, fresh and delicious. Bacardi when ordering the Italian fries as they can be a little salty. Overall really good.
google avatar

Andrea F.

Yelp
Drive through burger spot. Burger was cooked fresh to order and I ordered the small fresh cut French fries. The burger really hit the spot and the fries were seasoned and cooked perfectly. I would have given the food 4 stars but they added cheese which I asked for no cheese. Otherwise a great value for burger and fries. I would return for a visit. There was also a small area to time outside.

Yelp
great service , food came fast and hot. will Definitely come back again . 10/10 highly recommend

Suprina G.

Yelp
The mix's up burger was a nice size could accurately see the meat. It was bland no seasoning, not really juicy like I like my burgers. It was hot straight from the drive thru, friendly service. The shoestrings were cold but had a nice flavor to them. Glad I tried them but their burgers are not for me but the overall price was acceptable considering prices here. I give them a 2-3 overall.
google avatar

Dej C.

Yelp
Never had a burger that had so much flavor and meat dripping from it. Our burger had a fat price of beef and juicy pulled pork on top. The bbq sauce make you slap ya mama cause it's so good. Service is amazing. The owner is make your food and making sure it perfectly prepared. We are ousted because they don't allow ppl in this location. The other location has a full bar. Check it out Atlanta

Yelp
I seldom write reviews. I was excited to try this place. Not very tasty at all. Actually the burger had no taste. Wish I could get my money back. Got the Mix'D up burger and was not satisfied.

Yelp
This spot is a hidden gem. Tiny little shop located in East Atlanta, so it's not too much to look at. I went through the drive through. The service was better than expected. I love when small businesses like this treat their customers like actual people. I was in the mood for a juicy chargrilled burger, and some crispy fries and this place did not disappoint! The food was so good I almost hit a curb . Seriously, I almost turned my car around! Can't wait til the next time I'm in the neighborhood. This place is my guilty pleasure.
google avatar

Claudia A.

Yelp
Great burgers, do not hesitate to give this place a try. Well seasoned throughout, prepared still pink in the middle (thank god) & all portions are a half pound patty. Lots of great options like bean, lamb (my fav) & Turkey . Great sides too: lots of fry loaded ideas and my fav was the Mac & cheese bites

Yelp
Food was amazing. If you like your food wet and not dry this is the place!!! Service was great. We ate outside and the Manager brought us our food and extra Napkins and made sure we was good!! The Ambiance was good old Atlanta Good Vibes. Relaxing and nice views.

Kacey C.

Yelp
I was hesitant to try because I'm super picky but I was craving some funnel cake fries so I decided to try it out ! I would 100% recommend visiting this small burger joint, it's definitely worth your time . The food is great, prices are great , service was okay but everything was so fast that I couldn't focus on anything else !!! I asked for my burger medium rare and it was cooked to perfection, thanks for a great meal !

Ivory E.

Yelp
It's going to be a no for me. I ordered a turkey burger mixed. The burger was soooo bland. I should have went down the street to my usual spot.

Darren P.

Yelp
One of my fav spots in east atl. Easy to find seating and comfy eatl vibes. The salad is surprisingly good. Also love the crazy Texan burger. Initially found via food truck park in sylvan hills.
google avatar

Serena S.

Yelp
Honestly - I wasn't a fan. I went here for a quick dinner before my meeting and wanted to try it. I do love that there's a drive-thru - I don't love that the only seating at the restaurant is outdoor. I ordered the regular cheeseburger - it was really dry. I wasn't a fan of the Mix'D up sauce bc to me it just tasted like bbq sauce. The Italian fries were good but all I saw was Parmesan and no herbs. I would only go here for convenience of the drive thru but definitely not in the top list of my favorite burgers in Atl.
google avatar

Stephanie G.

Yelp
What a great place to get your quick fix of burgers/wraps. This is unlike your typical fast food burger chain where you can get fresh cooked food. The big plus for me is the super convenient drive thru. Since everything is cooked to order, there will be a wait.
google avatar

Sarah A.

Yelp
Fries were awesome. The chorizo burgers were decent. Still can't go inside to order tho. They still have a sign saying no inside ordering because of COVID, go figure.
google avatar

Savanna R.

Yelp
Tried this place because my dad and I couldn't figure out what we wanted and I suggested this place because I ride past it pretty often. There is always someone in line so I thought why not? We both ordered Texan burgers with no slaw and OMG! we definitely could've spilt one. It was soooo good. We also ordered the buffalo fries (10/10) and garlic fries but they didn't put the garlic fries in the bag (that's why one star is missing). We also ordered funnel fries and they were hot and good. I got a mango lemonade too (10/10) and my dad got a tea/lemonade mix and he said he enjoyed that too. We will definitely be back for the fries especially!!! I think this location is drive thru only too

Amber T.

Yelp
Food always hot and ready! The lobby is still closed so we're only able to catch the drive thru.
google avatar

Crystal H.

Yelp
The lamb burger is superb! The Cajun fries are good as well but lots of hot sauce. So good we circled back to try the turkey and black bean
google avatar

Yelp
Mix'D Up is one of my favorite burger spots. I LOVE the garlic-parm fries and the Hero lamb burger. Actually, I love a lot of their burgers. So far we've also tried the Patty Special, Sombrero, and Mix'D up burger. All excellent. Whenever I'm on the eastside (I'm a westside girl) I make sure to go to Mix'D Up. Actually, if I'm being honest, my ass travels a lot from the westside just to go to this burger spot. H&F, Bocado...they're good and all, but they don't have nothing on my new King Kong of Atlanta burgers: Mix'D Up. Also, they're located near Gardenhood nursery, so you can get your landscaping and food goals on, all on this one block.
google avatar

Alysa R.

Yelp
It was good will return to try other items on the menu. Definitely a fast food joint can stand enjoy!

C B.

Yelp
So good. Patty special (w/ impossible meat) was compact, seasoned, hot, tasty af pickles. Get outa town. I'll be going back.

Jon S.

Yelp
I wide variety of different types and styles of burgers . All fresh ingredients which is always a plus. They also have a drive thru option. Had the chorizo burger which came with Pico and Avocado spread .
google avatar

Sesaleigh M.

Yelp
Good burgers and fries! Made fresh to order. A bit pricey. The young lady that takes the order could use an attitude adjustment.
google avatar

Briana L.

Yelp
According to Nextdoor for my area, Mixd Up Burger is on the top of everyone's list for best burgers in town. So you know I had to try it. I ordered El Sombrero and my husband went standard with the Mix'd Up Burger. We also ordered the regular fries and the Italian fries. My husband enjoyed his burger and even said he'd go back, which is very surprising because he's a picky eater. I, on the other hand, will not order the sombrero again. I love chorizo but for some reason I just couldn't get with the taste. The fries were great. Just perfect crunch and not too greasy. Overall, I will probably go back and simply just get their Mix'd up burger. So expect this rating to change. Since we are in a pandemic, I appreciated cook and person giving out the food for wearing masks and gloves. To be continued...
google avatar

Sean S.

Yelp
bravo. bravo. id have to say if you are looking for a sloppy and meaty burger FAST, this is the place to go. mark my words... get the texan

Yelp
staff was VERY RUDE, i missed the window and the lady literally mocked me, & tried to make me look dumb, i'm sorry but it's not that serious for u to try & belittle me. what happened to hospitality & good customer service, all she had to do was say "i'm sorry about that ma'am we are currently very busy if you'd like to go back around & reorder we'd be glad to assist you!" BOOM THAT EASY! obviously this place needs to have a meeting with their staff members to conduct better customer service. i should'nt have to be mocked or feel disrespected just to get a burger, won't return to this location there's plenty of burger spots open, it's just not worth dealing with rude workers & paying for an overpriced burger.

Yelp
I contemplated going back today but it would've been out of the way. Not saying it's not worth it, had I not been working, I totally would've done so. The burgers they are cooking up in here are amazing. I was pleasantly surprised they had a drive through. I was prepared to walk inside and order. No need. There was one car in front of me. They were gone in less than 5 minutes. I ordered the Mix'd up burger with American cheese and added pickles and special sauce. Keep in mind all burgers are 1/2 lb. I didn't order any side items due to knowing I was about to consume a half pound burger. About 4-5 minutes later out came my burger. I ate while driving, because that is my life...The temperature of my burger was perfection. It was hot off the grill. The patty was seasoned like a pro! All the veggies were fresh. Maybe I should've asked what the mix'd up sauce was. I assumed it was more of a Mayo base like most but I was wrong. That's what I get for assuming. The sauce didn't take away from the flavor of the burger because the burger was top notch. I just know next time to pick something else. There were many options for fries. Next visit I'm definitely ordering some and just know I will have left over food. Very much looking forward to stopping by here soon!

Yelp
Enjoyed a nice little day trip to drop my niece off at the airport. Found this nice burger joint because I wanted a burger and the burgers were delicious! I would recommend for take out!
google avatar

Yelp
Cool little stop for a quick burger. It's very small and there is minimal seating but they have an awesome drive through and great customer service. It's burgers and fries here. You can find a selection of angus, lamb, and veggie with their twist! I had the lamb burger and Italian fries. The burger was pretty big and I almost couldn't finish it. It was ok. It wasn't dry so I cannot complain. The tasziki was very thick and not tasty. The burger was wrapped a bit sloppy and fries were wrapped within it. The fries are very thin and only Parmesan and no garlic. They were ok and very messy. I don't recommend eating them in your car. Overall an ok place if you, un like me, fancy burgers. My main beef (pun intended) is that everything was delivered very sloppy and it made me very uncomfortable to eat.
google avatar

Shereta B.

Yelp
I spent $20 for a burger, fries, and lemonade. It was definitely not worth it. The fries are tiny and crinkly I didn't enjoy those at all. The burger was just ok. I will not be going back.
google avatar

Idk I.

Yelp
The place is very neat with its indoor and outdoor seating, the staff are very nice welcoming you and the food is extremely exceptional. Totally recommend this place for a nice lunch.
google avatar

Ashlynn L.

Yelp
Love trying new places and things so I had to come here! I love a good burger so I went with the Cajun burger. If you can't stand the heat, this probably isn't the burger for you. Never had crawfish before so this was definitely interesting in terms of flavor but it was still pretty good. Definitely had a nice little kick to it. I also ordered the classic fries as well( which they gave you a pretty decent portion). I did curbside pickup which was really easy and the staff was nice. Definitely will have to come back again!
google avatar

Robin S.

Yelp
Solid burger, solid fries from a hole-in-the-wall, divey, shack located in an unlikely spot near the corner of Boulevard & Memorial. It's easy to miss. They have a food truck, so this place is more their brick & mortar base of operations, I gather. - Mix'd Up burger: a well above average, standard burger. Not huge but not small. I wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked and it came out medium, which was fine. Very tasty. - Classic fries: thin cut, somewhat limp, well-seasoned fries. You get a lot but towards the bottom they're mostly pieces. Still, very tasty. No fountain drinks, just cans & bottles. Mix'd Up is a really small place with two tall wobbly round tables inside and two picnic benches outside. No umbrellas outside so if it's inclement or just too sunny for your tolerance, use the drive-through. Parking? We don't need no stinking parking! Seriously, unless you're walking here, use the drive-through. Or find the food truck. Recommended.

Audrey M.

Yelp
So good. Such fast service! I devoured the burger in less than 5 minutes. Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Christie B.

Yelp
What a fun stop! I had seen this place before and I'm a fan of burger spots. Funny enough, I ordered the black bean, Santa Fe burger, rather and still felt like I was a tough guy eating a greasy hot beef patty. Although, I wasn't, my friend who is a picky eater said it was "pretty good". I take that as a win since his diet consist of chicken, pizza, burgers and mashed potatoes. We ate inside. It's small, but again a nice stop. The rocking loud music made it even more special. I assume the workers choose the jams... the 90s r and b hits was perfect for me!
google avatar

Jamarcus T.

Yelp
I saw the lines...likely the longest at the Smyrna Food Truck Tuesday event, and after standing in line, I heard the alert...."there are only 14 buns left", and I then heard the last announcement....no more fries of any kind. With all that said, my bunless burger that I got was pretty good, and Mix'D up was probably one of the better trucks at the event! I tried their Texan ($10), which is a Chili rubbed Angus beef burger, with cheese, bacon, and topped with pulled pork, bbq sauce, chipotle ranch slaw, and comes "open faced", i.e. without a top bun. The burger was huge, had to be eaten with a knife and fork (what with no buns), and each layer had a different flavor, from the sweetness of the slaw, to the twang of the bbq sauce, to the cook of the beef or bacon. Each bite was a little different, but more importantly, each bite was GOOD. I do wish that I could have tried their fries (everyone at Smyrna Food Truck Tuesday were out of fries!), but to get me hooked on a bunless burger says many good things about Mix'D up Burgers, and I can't wait to run into them at the next food truck event.
google avatar

Angiiee W.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in atl . They literally have the best turkey burger on the east side . I got the Cajun burger it was to die for . The turkey was so juicy and the bread was warm and soft as soon as I took a bite of it . The crawfish on the top did it for me it was so amazing .
google avatar

Genan S.

Yelp
I ordered the lamb burger. All the ingredients were amazing! I was pleasantly surprised to have yogurt on it as a condiment. But if the yogurt was seasoned or made into a cucumber & cilantro (and maybe tomato) yogurt sauce with lemon juice, it would've tasted better. Honestly, the lamb was lacking in flavor. Wish the meat was marinated and made with more love. But the garlic Parmesan fries were the bomb! I love the way the fries were cut too. I'd give it another try. Hopefully, a different burger (or another chef on another day) will be more flavorful. Lastly, the bartender was so nice. He joked with me and served me ice water and kept it filled and gave me a to go water.
google avatar

Jeremy B.

Yelp
They have a food truck & a few restaurant locations throughout the metro area. I am hooked & so in love with this buffalo fries burger! Fries on a burger are a weakness, but then you add buffalo sauce to those fries & the burger! The burger patty was juicy & packed with flavor. It's a real patty! This burger will melt your heart & taste buds. You'll never stop talking about this burger! I think I need another one. Don't be scared of getting messy!
google avatar

Imani B.

Yelp
Do you remember the quality of Good Burger ? And then their competitor mondo burgers size ? Well Mix'D Up has found the perfect blend between the two! I'm no stranger to Mix'D UP. The pile is super popular and once you have it you'll understand why. Burgers and fries totally go together but what's even better is putting fries ON the burger.. wait did i forget to mention these are tossed in BUFFALO sauce . All of this with cheese on a yummy soft bun. And they can cook your burger to any temperature you desire, just ask. This defiantly a treat for cheat day for those more health conscious people. The burger is so massive I cannot eat it all at once, i cut it in half and come back to it later. Be sure to try their funnel cake fries you won't be disappointed You can use the drive though if you don't want to get out the car. In the summer park along the fence and eat on deck, or inside . This burger spot is a GEM.

Yelp
I am very disappointed that for the third time in a row, I have received an order that does not include the extra Mix'D Up sauce that we paid extra for. My son even requested for them not to forget it in the special instructions this time. It also happened once in the drive thru. They need to take that option off the menu if their employees are not going to include it. For some, the sauce makes all the difference. My son is eating his but I don't even want mine now. I will not order again and will just make burgers at home. I started to do that today but my son really wanted to order. Now he is doctoring his up with stuff here at the house.
google avatar

Brandon S.

Yelp
gwve me the wrong food. this was after confirming my order on 3 separate occasions. very unorganized.

Denise B.

Yelp
I couldn't believe how unprofessional this place is! I picked up a order from the drive thru. The guy kept coming to the window saying drive around but they're were three cars in front of me. I asked the guy was I supposed to drive around the cars ahead of me?!! From that moment I knew I was dealing with unprofessional people here. When I pulled up to retrieve the order the guy just handed me the food and closed the window the entire time offensive rap music was playing cursing and saying the N word. I listen to rap and all type of music but I have the common sense to know that you do not play offensive music operating business. No regard for children or anything just pure unprofessionalism! I've have witnessed a lot of unprofessionalism but this takes the cake!!!!

Yelp
Went during burger week.... great decision to try this spot. While it may look like a hole in the wall but them dang on fries!!!!!! Our burger was good to but the pulled pork fries were absolutely amazing!!!!! Will be back to try more on the menu. No restroom so don't plan on sitting around. Can't even wash your hands.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about Mix'D UP Burgers. Mix'D UP Burgers is a hidden treasure. Only quality. I really wanted to try El Sombrero, I am seriously happy that I did, it was fabulous! Workers are incredibly courteous. They're accommodating, well-mannered and always on their game. I totally recommend Mix'D UP Burgers.
google avatar

Aundrea H.

Yelp
Usually I love eating here. The burger are phenomenal, but tonight all of my food was burnt. I ordered food for myself and my mother and both burgers and orders of fries were burnt. I waited for about a good 30 minutes for my food and was expecting for my food to be good and hot. Unfortunately, by the time I got home k found my burgers to be over cooked and crispy. My fries tasted as though they were fries that had been previously cooked earlier today and then put back in the grease to make hot. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I won't be coming back here at night if this is the quality food I will be served.

Yelp
CHECK YOUR RECEIPT. SHADY AS HELL. When the cashier told me my total was almost $20 for lunch, I knew the math wasn't right. I questioned her and she somehow justified the total and I second guessed myself. When I get the receipt, it was CLEAR the math wasn't adding up. Now I'm no mathematician, but I know $17.00+1.52 does NOT equal $19.17 so I hand her the receipt to show her it's not right. She couldn't explain it and goes to get someone else to explain it. Next guy proceeds to attempt to justify the math, like Im missing something here, so I explain the break down and that its not totalling correctly. THEN he says "well we offer a discount to pay with cash and you didn't pay with cash." I then had to explain to him that this was exactly opposite of that....not only was I not offered a discount to pay in cash, I was overcharged a penalty for paying with card and never in my life have I heard a a food establishment doing this. Furthermore, this policy is not disclosed anywhere or verbally explained to me. They basically STOLE from me and most likely from everyone patronizing this establishment. In a climate where businesses should be doing everything they can to earn your business to survive, this place is straight up robbing people. Food was too greasy too. So if you want a $20, 3,000 calorie lunch from a place that slick steals from you to top it all off, this is your jam.

Dominique L.

Yelp
So my family and I absolutely love trying new turkey burgers. Being that turkey burgers are usually dry , it's definitely a hit or miss . I ordered two turkey burgers, a kids mini (turkey) corn dogs , two fries , and a fresh squeezed lemonade. I was not moved by anything besides the lemonade. I probably won't go out of my way to order from here ... may consider of someone else is paying ...will order the lemonade for sure.

Yelp
These burgers are so good it makes no sense. Please understand that even with no line you will wait 12 to 15 minutes for your food, but let me tell you it's gonna BUUUST!!!! The fries are crazy you only need one order if it's two of you if being greedy then go ahead and get your own set of fries.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place. It is located in a small building with a drive thru. So- that was a great-- because many of the restaurants in the area... are not drive thru... And who- ALL the burgers sound amazing!! When I return to ATL- I will give some of the other burgers a try. For this particular trip... I elected to try the Santa Fe... which was DELISH! I am not a burger person because they are often greasy... which I understand-- some people enjoy this in a burger. Anywho... this burger wasn't dry nor greasy... Cooked to perfection. It had beans, pico de gallo on it... and the bread was amazing. The fries... I have NO clue what they use to season the fries... but it was really good. I want to try the Italian fries but I didn't feel like being a pig... There were a few options in terms of the type of fries... all sounded amazing. The person at the drive thru window... was polite.
