Mocotó Vila Leopoldina

"A very safe bet, where the experience is such that you will always enjoy a good meal, whether you order the famous “dadinhos de tapioca”, the delicious “torresminhos”, the traditional “rabada” or less conventional but equally superb options, such as the “beijupira ceviche”. The cuisine follows the same pattern as the flagship Mocotó, namely informal and inclusive cuisine that combines influences from the Sertão region courtesy of founder José Almeida (the chef's father) and an innovative approach from renowned cook Rodrigo Oliveira. Even though the original chef is not present In this Vila Leopoldina outpost, it is clear that the brand’s identity remains intact through expressive flavours and seasonings. Simplicity is very much to the fore here, a sentiment enhanced by the cheerful colour scheme and the open kitchen running the length of the dining room and is one of the main reasons it is never empty. If you’re keen to savour the chef's homely cuisine, we recommend arriving early as the restaurant does not take bookings." - Michelin Inspector

Very good nordestino food and excellent costume service. Everything was perfect ! Yesterday I was there, and for my surprise, the service was pretty bad. Some waitress wasn't happy at all and was not careful to serve the food.

I really love this place. Not so crowded and very nice service. The food is amazing. We had the oxtail, the rice from Bahia and some starters.

A truly amazing experience. They do the best version of classic Brazilian dishes while staying very true to its roots. If you want an introduction to traditional Northeastern Brazilian food, this is the place to go.

It's casual and the food is not fancy, but unique takes on northeast Brazilian dishes. Fun vibe. You'll probably have to wait for a table. Get appetizers while you wait, especially the meaty torresmo.

The eisbein (ham hock) was perfect, and so were their other dishes. The food is really good and the price is fair. I recommend arriving early because waiting queues are long and they often run out of their best desserts by the time you'll be rounding up your meal.

The food here is out of this world!!! It is all a blast of flavour. The staff is friendly, the drinks look so simply, but some of them are true high quality mixology.

Everything is great. Food, service, friendliness of the staff.... Only problem was the massive queue.... so prepare yourself to wait for a table. But it is worth it.
