Hot take: Moe's Doughs is better than Peter Pan. We all know Moe's is a so called copycat of Peter Pan, but that doesn't mean the original is better.
Peter Pan recently increased their prices to $1.75 per donut, while Moe's sells theirs at $1.50, which I can appreciate.
The variety is better at Moe's than Peter Pan. Moe's has specialty flavors which don't cost $1.50, but more like $2-$3, but I'd say they're well worth it.
I ordered the Caramel Cheesecake, Oreo, and the Doughnoli (my favorite).
The caramel on the cheesecake is hardened, and can be removed if you don't like caramel which I don't. The cheesecake part of the donut is absolutely amazing. It's the perfect balance of cream cheese and sugar.
The Oreo is extremely sweet and will leave you in a sugar coma, but my god is it worth it. Crunchy Oreo pieces, creamy vanilla frosting, and a glazed chocolate base.
The Doughnoli is my favorite, and is an absolute monster of a donut. If you like cannolis, you better sprint full speed to Moe's for this donut.
The classic flavors such as the cake donuts and more basic yeast donuts are quite similar to Peter Pan with minimal differences.
Peter Pan is very overcrowded with tourists who don't know about Moe's. I like Moe's better because of the lower prices on the classic flavors for the same product, less of a wait to get my food, and their amazing specialty flavors such as the Doughnoli.
My only problem with Moe's is the customer service. I've been 3 times and the lady who served me was very nice the first two times, but then the most recent time I went the guy had an attitude with me when I was asking questions about the donuts and he seemed like he just wanted to get me out of there and make his sale.
Overall, I'd say try both places, but most likely you'll choose Moe's as they have a better variety than Peter Pan. I like coming here once in a while as a cheat on my diet and to get a nice sugar high.
