Philly’s Best Polish Restaurants | Eater Philly

"Mom-Mom’s serves up classic Polish food in their new Port Richmond space. Owners Ryan Elmore and Kaitlin Wines dole out some of the most balanced pierogi in the city, along with classic dishes like Golabki (stuffed cabbage) and pickle soup made from zesty garlic pickles. And the Mom-Mom’s food truck makes the rounds in the city, serving up plates of pierogi and hot kielbasa at festivals and local breweries. Keep an eye on Instagram to track the whereabouts of the Mom-Mom’s truck." - Natalie Jesionka

The Most Fantastic Philly Food Trucks | Eater Philly

"Mom-Mom’s Kitchen has been specializing in handmade Polish eats with a modern twist since 2013. Its fun and unique perogies — think Philly cheesesteak, vegan potato, and kapusta — are the stars of its menu. The food cart makes regular appearances at local festivals and farmers’ markets, but you can always stop by its stationary location on South Street." - George Banks-Weston

Late-Night Pierogies Are Coming to South Street in Philly - Eater Philly

"Mom-Mom's Kitchen, which started out as a roving Polish food cart before setting up a permanent location in Northeast Philly, is opening a second permanent location downtown near 15th and South streets. The new location will serve late and will be a takeout-only operation, offering pierogies, kielbasa, stuffed cabbage rolls, and house-made applesauce from a to-go window. It is named in honor of Kaitlin Wines' grandmother and started as a food cart in 2014." - Rachel Vigoda

This was our first stop arriving in Philly and it was exceptional! Best pierogis of my life!! The guy working was incredibly nice and we really appreciated the carrot cake :)

Google
I’m not too familiar with Polish cuisine, but I have to say that Mom-Mom’s Kitchen has amazing food that’s just spectacular. I wasn’t sure what to order but the waitstaff were extremely kind and friendly, suggesting things to order and recommending things. The food was extremely delicious, came out hot, and quickly. We had some specials like the brisket and also had the feast, which had a plethora of flavors and textures. Everything tasted great, looked great, it was just great. The inside is nice and cozy, with plenty of room for seating and a bar area. I mentioned before but the waitstaff was extremely friendly and helpful. Overall, Mom-Mom’s Kitchen is a great place that I definitely would come back to and definitely recommend.

Google
4.5 stars for the best Polish food in town! I knew Mom-Mom's from their pop-ups around town and the food did not disappoint. Carbon Copy beer is always stellar (and I'm not really a beer drinker), so these two are a match made in Heaven. The minus half a star is for the parking situation. We got *extremely* lucky and found a street parking, but plan to look around if you're driving yourself here.

Google
Port Richmond has some of the best Polish food in America. Mom-Moms has a delicious take on it. We are always happy with the food. The wings are my favorite around and the chicken cutlet is outstanding. Of course the perogies are always delicious. The kielbasa is another level. And good beer from Carbon Copy available as well to round out a great quick meal. They also have a projector and TV with the game on, when applicable.

Google
This place is amazing. The food is really good and the potions can be huge. They got a mom mom's meal and a pop pops meal both of which have a variety of different ethnic Polish foods and you can try them all and they are Soo good. I've found out I love more foods than I knew. The staff/waiter was absolutely the nicest and most helpful person I've had interacted with in a while. I should've left a bigger tip! The food was done very fast and came out perfectly. I Will be going back to this place. You can eat in or out side too. The only thing is there's a bar in here too that has a separate bill, but that includes all drinks ordered other than water. So you'll pay your bill for the food and then the drink tab. But it's very easy. I loved this place and it's a hidden gem that I feel lucky enough to find. You'll need to find a parking spot because it's in the city. But for the quality, quantity and delicious food it's worth it.

Google
Being of Polish heritage, I felt I would give Mom Mom's a try. I actually grew up a few streets over from the location so I was very familiar with the neighborhood. Polish or not, I have to say this is a must visit place. We did not try the brews from Carbon Copy because we had given up alcohol for Lent, but will be back after Easter to give them a try. Everything was excellent including the atmosphere. Food was excellent. Best Golabki I have had.

Google
We saw an episode featuring Mom Moms on Diners Drive in and Dives. The energy from the owner was contagious and we had to check it out! It’s an adorable neighborhood space. Clean, comfortable, plenty of nice seating. Full well stocked bar handled by carbon copy. We had the cheesesteak pierogis with caramelized onions, fresh chives and a delicious tasty ketchup. We also had the kielbasa and sauerkraut which were SO GOOD!! We ate the food so quickly we did not even leave time to snap some pictures!! Very fresh, hot, served quickly by the nicest staff! We loved our food so much we took 2 dozen cheesesteak pierogis home with us! Can’t wait to go back!! Plenty of street parking and the ambiance is just perfect!

Google
Best Polish food I've had; I haven't typically been a fan of golabki, but theirs is delicious. We ended up asking for another order of those for the table after our meals arrived. Service was phenomenal - went in for dinner with our 3-year-old and they didn't have any juice, so he ran to the corner store across the street to get her one.
google avatar

Yelp
This place really hit the spot!! You can really tell they make the pierogies with care, fresh to order. I tried their special spicy BBQ Pork pierogies and they definitely didn't skimp on the filling. The add-on Kielbasa link with sauerkraut could be a standalone meal in itself. It's a true hole-in-the-wall, though there are 2 tables out front where you can sit and try your food while it's still warm.

Yelp
This cart was at Pierogi Fest. They had a big line since apparently they are known for a segment that appeared on Food Network. Their storefront is in Port Richmond but they do have a cart that goes around to events and such. I have never had golabki, which is basically boiled cabbage with meat in the middle. I really liked the red sauce on top of it. The cheesesteak pierogis were delicious as well. I really like how the ketchup had black pepper in it. The guys in the cart were very friendly as well.

Yelp
Fist of all we won't talk about the cheesesteak perogies. I'm polish it's not a thing. Their traditionalist perogies are excellent although Polish but who cares they're excellent. I wasn't at their restaurant but at their food trailer and the service was 10 out of 5. Not sure how the place looks inside but I will definitely go. The golimpki was literally the best I ever had even better than my own and better than my mother who was literally an illegal polish immigrant straight off the boat. Can't wait to. Heck the actual restaurant out!
google avatar

Jon Z.

Yelp
Cheesesteak pierogi were a bit mushy but the pepper ketchup complimented them well. Kielbasa was dry like beef jerky and the kraut tastes liked a deconstructed egg roll, not in a good way. Golumpki was dense and the tomato sauce was very watery. Not going back.

Yelp
This is the ultimate rainy day comfort food. I can't say I've eaten a lot of Polish food so I'm definitely not an expert- but I thought the pierogis at Mom Mom's were delicious. They tasted like what I imagine home cooked pierogis are like- or at least this is probably the closest I'll get to homemade pierogis. They don't have any seating but you can sit in Bob and Barbra's for your meal and the staff will deliver it to you there. My friend and I ordered the kapusta pierogi and their daily special, which happened to be buffalo chicken. They were both fantastic but the buffalo chicken was the star. I'm excited to go back here and try more!

Yelp
Lovely place to try polish food! I don't know much about polish food but saw the great reviews and knew I had to try. This place doesn't have any indoor sitting area - it's an individual stall attached to a building where you can order and pay for your food. They have streeteries for outdoor seating. We came on a raining day to try the golabki - it's a dish that contains a mixed of different proteins wrapped in lettuce leaves, submerged in this delicious tomato soup. It was the perfect dish for a cold raining day! To top it off you can dip it in sour cream - which is a game changer. They might have a small menu but they also have "specials of the day". When we were there it was bulgogi pierogi. Highly recommend this place - it's also very causal and fun if you're looking for a quick bite.

Yelp
Had them in my wish list after watching them on Guy Fieri's Triple D show. We ordered two of the Polish feast box. Each had variety of items in them, potatoes and cheesesteak pierogis, half grilled kielbasa, 2 golabki and a lot of sauces and sides. Online ordering and payment was convenient. Our order was ready for pickup as scheduled during the order. We loved the pierogis. They were soft and fluffy. I liked the cheesesteak ones more than potatoes ones. Kielbasa (sausage) was cooked really well. The golabki is a rice wrap that sits on tasty tomatoes sauce. Also vey delicious. We do not get to eat Polish food a lot, so I throughly enjoyed the experience. Mom mom fully deserves to be featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.

Yelp
Different cheesesteak item #1067 in the last five years. I owe Mom-mom's kitchen an apology for a few of the bad things I was thinking about her. I'm not apologizing for thinking $16.85 after tax and tip is too much for 6 (5?) smallish pierogies. Standing in the cold having a trunk picnic I thought the pierogies were a little mushy. I took one pierogi home and air fried it. It was amazing. Very good meat mixed nicely with very good cheese. What I thought was ketchup turned out to be very good spicy ketchup.

Yelp
Delicious pierogis !!! The Philly steak and cheese ones are fantastic I didn't enjoy the cabbage ones as well Next time I'll order potato ones Kielbasa was good with kraut No place to sit order from sidewalk and wait
google avatar

Yelp
Tried these guys at our local Clover Market! Such delicious Pierogies!!! Long lines but worth the bite! The caramelized onions on top were everything!!

Yelp
During a quick visit to Philly , I sought this little hole in the wall out . There was no indoor dining so to-go only orders. The Philly cheese steak pierogies are amazing ! Everything we ordered was fresh , made to order and delicious! This should definitely be on your list of list try places in Philly !!
google avatar

Retna S.

Yelp
The cheesesteak pierogies are absolutely delicious with the caramelized onion on top. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The apple sauce is great too. Stuffed cabbage has creamy tomato sauce and well seasoned.

Yelp
When exploring Philly last weekend, my mom, husband, and I couldn't pass up a snack at Mom Mom's when we saw their sign as we were walking past! We were actually on our way to lunch, so we didn't need a full meal - but we couldn't walk away without trying some of their Polish food. We shared an order of potato pierogi with caramelized onions with apple sauce instead of sour cream since my mom is vegan. The pierogi are made to order - and came out piping hot - so there was a bit of wait (maybe 10 minutes). And they were delicious! I would love to go back and try some more of their eats - kapusta pierogi, Philly cheesesteak pierogi, golabki (stuffed cabbage)...!
google avatar

Samantha P.

Yelp
New to the Philly area and decided to check this place out. Ive never had takeout Polish food as Ive typically made it myself. These pierogis were very delicious, and knowing the time that goes into making them, worth the price. The kielbasa was very good. Sauerkraut was also good. Pretty simple meal but definitely recommend if youre looking to try some solid Polish food! Also note this is takeout only, you pick your order from their window outside.

Yelp
After walking past Mom Mom's on South street and saying "we need to try this" one too many times, I decided that I was going to make it happen. On a Friday night while doing happy hour nearby, I decided to place an order for Mom Mom's online. I placed my order for a classic Potato Pierogi and a Cheesesteak Pierogi around 7 PM and they were ready by 7:20. I visited the counter to let them know I had placed an order online and they promptly handed me my bag. I brought it back to the bar at Bob & Barbara's to eat, which is no problem because the neighboring businesses have a great relationship. Each pierogi order came with 5 generously sized pieces. The caramelized onions were the perfect addition to both dishes. The ketchup that came with the cheesesteak pierogi was delicious! I was truly in heaven as I tried these perfect lil pierogis. I didn't think it was possible that they could be as good as the rumors, but they absolutely live up to the hype. Do yourself a favor and stop by Mom Mom's ASAP!
google avatar

Amber Y.

Yelp
The cheesesteak pirogies exceeded my expectations. They were SO good and the onion and ketchup sauce with them were perfect. I added on the kielbasa and sauerkraut and had absolutely no regrets. What a little gem this place is.

Bob B.

Yelp
The staff is great and I really wanted to love this place. The golabki and pierogi were pretty average in my opinion. There needed to be more marjoram in the golabki and seasoning in the pierogi. Also the golabki filling was too dense. Overall it was a very average experience. It's basically a food cart vibe since it is a window in the side of a building. There is a bar next door where you can sit down and eat if you order a drink which is fine but the bar is pretty basic. I wish them the best but I won't be returning any time soon. And I wish I wanted to. Oh well.
google avatar

Julia T.

Yelp
The pierogis here are outstanding. During Covid I'd get these delivered or to go at least once a month. Now they've moved to South Philly but luckily they still sell them at Riverwards market in Fishtown. My all time favorite are the cheesesteak ones although the potato and cheese ones are a solid classic. I've also had their kielbasa and applesauce which are quite good too. They often have seasonal pierogi specials and I've never had one I didn't like!
google avatar

Autumn L.

Yelp
Got the Polish feast and it was incredible. We have bought the frozen pierogis a few times which are always delicious. Excellent kolabki and kielbasa. The potato Pierogi with caramelized onion, applesauce and sour cream is the perfect bite. It seems like a lot but it really is enough for two you will not be disappointed
google avatar

AprilEd H.

Yelp
Best pierogi I have ever had. My friends dad use to get frozen pierogis sent to San Diego from Phili in the 90s and now I finally had a chance to make it to phili to try super fresh for myself. We had the cheese steak and the potato. OMG the beat ever. Thank you mom mom for teaching your family this delicious traditional food. The man on grill and woman up front (mom mom granddaughter) were both very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stop in again when I am back in town.

Yelp
Point blank: Go Here. I could write nothing but positive things about Mom Mom's. They are great food, fast, cheap, and a small business. What else do you need? Oh, their location. They are right across the street from Wine Dive, right next door to Bob and Barbra's, adjacent to the south street pop up beer garden, and like a few blocks away from Broad street. I have had their food as a food truck before and was waiting for this spot to open. They just don't miss the mark at all. It is just a joy to eat there. Yes, do I wish they had more of a seating area, and the shop was bigger, yes. However, going from Food truck to this, during a pandemic was smart. The outside seating doesn't stop them. They hand delivered our order. So, we got the Blueberry Pierogi, deep fried cause it is hot girl summer no matter what you eat, served with sour cream ice cream and some cooked down blueberries. Let me tell you how I drooled over this. I ate it within 30 seconds. That small scoop of sour cream ice cream was not enough. I wanted to order a pint of it. Just go. Order original Pierogis and enjoy. Order the dessert and be happy. They just brought back the elote Pierogi. Just go. Why are you reading this still? Check their hours, and go. Bring a friend, don't. It doesn't matter, you will love it.

Yelp
Such a. Fun great spot . Particularly good post or during some bob and Barbara fun! Highly recommend the onions on top

Yelp
Finally stopped by here and got some goods. This place has been on my list for so long and frankly I'm ashamed at how long it took me to try it. The pierogies are soooo soft and luscious, the potato pierogies were gone in a matter of minutes. I also tried their Kapusta pierogies which were a touch below the beloved potato. I need the buffalo chicken pierogies to be in the rotation more often please!
google avatar

Laura N.

Yelp
I'm part Polish and grew up making pierogi from scratch every Christmas since I was a kid. I was skeptical that a pierogi place could live up to what I've grown up with, but pierogi is A LOT of work to make and once I saw Mom-Mom's open on south street I knew I had to at least try it. Wow. I was pleasantly surprised. So you can get the more traditional potato pierogi or special pierogi that they run. We got both. I forget the special pierogi we got, but I preferred the potato. They were seasoned well, the dough was really good too. We also ordered the golabki (stuffed cabbage). This is another dish I grew up with. It was SO good! The sauce was almost a vodka/blush sauce and the filling had a little kick to it. It's stuffed with ground meat and rice and rolled tightly in a boiled cabbage leaf. Definitely check out this little spot.
google avatar

Abigail W.

Yelp
I literally stood in torrential rain for delicious Polish food :) My Aunt has a secret family pierogi recipe that I was finally given maybe 2 years ago. We eat a lot of pierogies in the family at all holiday dinners. Mom-Mom's is on par with what I grew up with. The flavor, texture, the filling, all super fantastic. Now, the golabki.. my friend's Baba (grandma) has been making me the best golabki since Kindergarten. Mom-Mom's golabki is perfect. And because it's hard to get to see Baba to get her delicious foods, I now have Mom-Mom's for all the cravings that hit.
google avatar

Vincent G.

Yelp
Delicious Polish cuisine - variety of pierogies are brilliant, creative and yummy! I wish the menu were a little bigger, but what is on there is true comfort food. Lots of options for vegetarians as well. They have an amazing peach dessert - don't pass on this. Very affordable, and easily will be staple for the little neighborhood of bridesburg. This cuisine is pretty unique in my opinion - if you are anywhere in north philly, it is worth driving to. Really tiny spot, and cool decor.
google avatar

Jim E.

Yelp
I saw this on Diner's Drive-Ins & Dives and knew I had to visit! Was about a 15 minute walk on a gorgeous fall afternoon. On weekdays this business opens at 4pm and it is recommended to order on line for quick pickup! We did just that! The proprietors were young and hard working. It is a takeout business but the adjoining bar has tables outdoors for use ( of course we went in and purchased a beverage). I love visiting a family owned and run business. The Polish food was all made with love. We tried pierogis & applesauce but all the choices sounded great. We will be back.
google avatar

Bang D.

Yelp
Stop by here on a random night for my hubby and decided to give it a try. We order the kielbasa roll and I have to say it was sooo good. I would love to try other stuff on the menu and will be back soon.
google avatar

Jeff H.

Yelp
Mom Mom's moved last year from its original Bridesburg location to Center City Philadelphia. On popular South Street it serves a loyal clientele as well as people looking for a tasty snack after hitting up the nearby bars. It's all about pierogies at Mom Mom's and yes they do them extremely well. In fact the chicken mushroom pierogies I recently ordered here were among the best I have ever tasted. They were large in size and totally delicious. My only request for Mom Mom's is to somehow offer a selection which contains a mixture of pierogi types.
google avatar

Grace K.

Yelp
What a lovely place to grab some quick eats. I got an order of the pierogis with caramelized onions on top. They were delicious, warm, and a perfect blend of flavor. The pierogis come with a side of sour cream. I also got their homemade applesauce and I was pleasantly surprised. I thought, okay, how special can you make applesauce? The flavor was very fresh and thicker than applesauce you get out of a jar. It was sweeter, almost like an apple pie filling. It had a hint of a vanilla flavor. My friend tried a bit of mine and went to get his own order because he liked it so much. He told me he usually doesn't like applesauce but this one was different. The seating is limited but there's a bar next to it and some outdoor seating. The workers were pleasant and nice. It is literally a hole in the wall, so don't miss it! I will definitely return to try the rest of the menu.
google avatar

Jim L.

Yelp
Absolutely Perfect!! Mom-Mom's came to serve our family providing lovingly handmade Polish food for a funeral reception. We were so blessed by the food and service. Pierogies were amazing. Golubki was delicious. Kapusta so delightful.

Yelp
After seeing the DDD episode, we decided to try Mom Mom's new location on South Street and it did not disappoint. You must know that this location is walk-up ordering only. They have tables that are shared with next door neighbors, Bob & Barbaras, so if you plan on "dining in," you should order drinks from B&B (cash only). As noted on DDD, the cheesesteak pierogies are the thing to get here. I'm not a huge cheesesteak fan (sue me, I'm not from Philly), but these little gems were absolutely divine. Another fav is the stuffed cabbage (Golabki), which is a meal in itself. We loved everything so much that we got some extra food to go. Looking forward to coming back again and love that they now have a more centralized location.
google avatar

Tanya M.

Yelp
So we finally made it here and wow am I glad we did. The owner was there and let us know the lay of the land. The cheesesteak pirogies where so delicious and melted in my mouth they where some of the best food I've ever tasted. My man had the stuffed cabbage and basically licked the plate. We also had the cheese stuffed pirogies which where also yummy. Our waitress was a little clueless but sweet. Can't wait to go back. Also they have pirogies making classes. I want to try that.
google avatar

Lane B.

Yelp
I love this place! I got the pierogis. Very, very good. The caramelizad onions were a nice touch. The only suggestion I have is that there's vegan options. Like, I'd love if there were vegan sour cream.
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
Delicious kielbasa and pirogies made me feel a little nostalgic for polish food at home. The bar next door was also super nice letting us eat inside and have some beers I wish there was a jazz night or live music while we were staying in Philly but definitely will return for some!
google avatar

Ninamari D.

Yelp
Picked this up on a whim. Went for the sampler that is marketed for two. The person who answered the phone recommended it because I was clueless to Polish food. It was a LOT of food. I had enough to take some to work for lunch the following day. The sampler came with 2 kinds of pirogies, kielbasa, sauerkraut, cabbage roll things, and the most amazing applesauce I have ever had. The cabbage rolls were stuffed with rice and I'm not even sure what kind of meat but it was so good! Cheesesteak perogies were awesome, and I don't really get down with beef. Overall a great experience and fun to try some new things.
google avatar

Solomon D.

Yelp
I don't know how I missed that this place existed, but it was amazing! Ordered online on a Saturday night and food was ready within 20min. Not a huge menu which made it easy to order, but it did include 2 weekly special perogies as well as 2 other types of perogies that are always offered. Then they also had stuffed cabbage, kielbasa, and apple sauce. Suffice to say we accidentally tried everything...The standout of the meal was a surprise, but everything was fantastic. Even just the regular perogies were stuffed to the brim with filling and crispy on the outside. The specials were Swedish meatballs and broccoli cheddar. The broccoli cheddar was topped with crushed crackers and was basically a casserole in perogie form. Fantastic! The Swedish meatballs came topped with meatballs and with a side of jam. The jam seemed weird at first but went together great with the meatballs and the perogies. The sauce on the stuffed cabbage was not overwhelming and had great flavor to it and the cabbage itself was full to the brim with rice and meat. THE ONLY NEGATIVE, was that the kielbasa was a bit overcooked. I loved the crispiness on the outside, but if it retained some moisture it would have been better. Same with the meatballs. But what was the best thing I had? The applesauce I kid you not. Mott's applesauce eat your heart out. It was spiced perfectly, so creamy, and wasn't completely homogenous in how it was mashed which was nice and made it feel natural and homemade. Service was quick. People were nice. Prices were a bit steep I thought at first (definitely more than the one $ sign), but honestly the food was worth every penny and one of the better meals I've had in a while. Go. Now.
google avatar

Eugene A.

Yelp
Wow! Awesome pierogies either hot or cold for heating at home. Very generous portions with perfect dough and filling. We ordered cold pierogies with the potato filling. I sauté onions and garlic in butter and add the pierogies. Just amazing! Highly recommend

Yelp
You want a Gem? Like something others don't know about? Imagine this....You have real-deal Chefs/Bakers......North of Girard Ave......So, I begin..... 1. Traditional Vs Specials? Answer: If you are reading this.....Point Blank.....They handle the classics, Nothing on Alleghany can touch them. As good, if not better than most Greenpoint/East Village spots when I live in NYC. So for classics....read no further. Just go. But.....they go way beyond that. From what I gather....Chefs sourcing and cooking. (They list the purveyors) Seasonal versus Traditional. Regional (Philly area staples like Rabe or Sharp) Old and New. Culinary work. Makes you feel like you are at the beginning of something big. 2. Can Mom Mom's Frozen Perogies be Delicious at your own Home? Answer: I bought them. I served them. They tasted like just like what I got at Mom Mom's. But......People ate them like candy! Kids liked them. Grown Men acting like kids. Don't give them out during an Eagles game. LIKE DONT. For Real. No Cheesesteak Perogies! Think I'm Kidding? Your husbands friends will be there every Sunday. Like Clockwork. 3. Chef taught Classes on how to make Perogies? Answer: Group Classes. Saw it on the chalkboard. Looked it up online. Name another Restaurant were the Chef's will teach you the skills they have learned? And then take what you made home! Holiday Party??? Hope my boss see's this post so we don't do Ax Throwing again next year..... 4. A Family Event coming up? Answer: Ummm. This is how it started for me. There food cart is at the farmers market. You smell it everywhere. It starts with waiting in line..with farmers......it's literally the cafeteria for vegatable purveyors. Yelp
So this place is EPIC, my husband & I were in Philly for 9 days. I knew we wanted to check this place out, it's actually a Brick & Mortar NOT a food cart which they also have too! So the Farmers cheese & the Potato Pierogis are INSANE! IF anyone knows anything about Pierogis & how labor intensive they are, you have to just appreciate APPRECIATE what this restaurant does. You cannot get any better or authentic than Mom Moms. We plowed through some Kielbasa & Vanilla Bourbon Applesauce! Oh my goodness. To top it all OFF, we finished with a Rhubarb sour cream based upside down cake---- the owner is not only a talented chef but also an artist! Oh I wish we lived closer!! Thank you guys so much for your dedication to quality!

Yelp
I saw this place on FYI Philly on channel 6 and wanted to try it because it was my mom's old neighborhood. Today I had the opportunity after researching ancestors in a local cemetery. It was absolutely amazing! The best pierogi I have ever eaten including homemade by myself and family. Light dough sautéed to perfection served with onions and sour cream. I had farmers cheese and a cousin had potato. Great flavors! My other cousin had golumpki which she pronounced as yummy, even if I can't spell it. She also tried a cold asparagus soup with pistachios, strawberries and farmers cheese. Amazing! Owners were very friendly and accepted our compliments graciously. I would love to take one of their pierogi making classes some Wednesday night. We definitely want to return.

Yelp
I had been wanting to try this place forever, and finally did the other day and man were we not disappointed! The first two bites we were making yummy food noises and said "oh man we've gotta go back here" we tried the feast for 2, and ordered 1 other perigees. There were 3 of us and we still had a little bit left over, so it was a good amount of food. This place is Tiny! So need to get take out, or sit around our front, but staff is super friendly and nice. Food was hot and ready on time. Excellent! Try everything!

Yelp
I have a little bit of a food truck fetish. I don't know what it is, but serve food out of a colorfully-painted vehicle and I'm automatically intrigued. I, like many of the other reviewers, also am a Polish girl, raised on home-made pierogi made by my mother and grandmother for the holidays, or someone else's Polish-speaking grandmother for the local church fundraising bazaars. So I do not say this lightly: Mom-Mom's is one of my all-time favorite food trucks, and their pierogi are phenomenal. I was at first turned-off by the concept of pan-seared pierogi. I'd always boiled/steamed them and drowned them in butter, but turns out there is more than one way to make little potato dumplings delicious. The caramelized onion, scallions, and sour cream are the perfect accompaniment to these pockets of heaven. Served up in an unassuming little paper bowl for $8 a serving, they're by far one of the best food-truck deals one can find, and they come with bonus nostalgia (for some, anyway...) My only complaint is that it can be difficult to track them down --- I don't live in Philadelphia, and they don't always widely publicize where they are going to be, so it can be tough to make the trip when they last-minute post on Facebook that they're in a certain park for a few hours. But they are always so, SO worth the trip.

Yelp
The Chinese have their "Dumpling", the Japanese have their"Gyoza", the Italians have their "Ravioli" and the Polish have their "Pierogi" ! America, well we have all of them and then some in a buffett line. Bada Bing! I am not talking about the strippers club you'd see in the Sopranos. What I am talking about is this little food cart that attracts a line like no other has seen. This could be for a Night Market event or any type of street festival event Mom Mom's is on point with their product . Pierogi, pfff I used to say ,or I would call it the "imitation ravioli". I admit I was wrong , very wrong actually. Nothing like watching and hearing these little potato and cheese bad boys sizzle on the grill as you begin to salivate. Now seeing I am new to the Pierogi scene, I couldn't tell you what or how they should be prepped. What I can tell you is that they are simply awesome with the caramelized onions and sour cream as the toppings. I find myself now going to different spots checking out the appetizers, seeing if pierogies is on the menu. I also have no issue trying out different ways you could enjoy a pierogi. I'm hooked on these guys, with their fresh handmade morsels they make. I will say this though, I know who set the bench mark in my opinion of what a pierogi should taste like. Mom Mom's your product is outstanding, I look forward to seeing your station set up. I will be perusing their menu even more, seeing their pierogi is on point. I could only imagine what else they make that will make me go crazy for. I can't wait for Spring to come around again, because I will be there too as the season of festivals begin!

Yelp
I'm a travel nurse, and I'm literally only in Philly on work days. I wanted to try something new, and this immediately caught my eye. I ordered the Cheesesteak pierogi without a second thought, and Grubhub delivered them nice and fresh and hot. The pierogi dough is soft and perfectly cooked, the filling was delicious, the caramelized onions were perfectly executed and added a nice touch, and the ketchup was tangy and a good compliment to the pierogi. I have had tons and tons of pierogi in my life growing up in a Polish family, living in a Polish community, (I even lived in "Little Poland" New Britain , CT), so I consider myself to be picky when it comes to Polish cuisine. These are some of the BEST pierogis I ever had in my life! I'm only disappointed I didn't order more, but I'm very cautious when people try to make Polish food. I can't wait to try more! If you're thinking about ordering, just do it! You won't be sorry!!

Yelp
Bought Mom-Mom's cheesesteak pierogies at head house farm market last Summer. So great that a week later I stocked up for the freezer and pan seared them two at a time, now and then, over many months. Heartbreaking when we ran out. Glad to see they have a small store location in center city now at 15th and South, where there is usually street parking available to dash in. Many other flavors but that one is garlic-free so safe for our purposes. Tip: buy a container of their caramelized onions for the perfect accompaniment. Sooo delicious.
