"Momosan Ramen & Sake, a ramen restaurant by chef Masaharu Morimoto, pays homage to his childhood in Hiroshima, featuring three styles of ramen and a variety of Japanese-inspired comfort foods. The menu includes tonkotsu, Tokyo chicken ramen, and tantan ramen, as well as appetizers like duck fat fries, soft shell bao, and tetsunabe pork gyoza." - Susan Stapleton

Great little ramen joint by the water. The staff were incredibly attentive - no water glass was left unfilled! I ordered the ramen set ($30) it comes with a free drink at lunch. The edamame was warm and salted, perfectly cooked! The seaweed salad was tasty and fresh. The ramen was flavourful and the noodles were chewy. I really enjoyed my time at this restaurant. I would definitely return.

Nice outdoor patio and good service, food is hit or miss for me. Sticky ribs were great! Spicy dan dan noodles were overly oily IMO, and the spice definitely overwhelmed the sesame flavor. Tonkatsu ramen is decent but nothing special. Noodle itself is eh.

We recently visited Momosan Waikiki and tried their Tonkotsu Ramen, Sticky Ribs, and Salmon Poke. Service: The dishes were served incredibly quickly, which we appreciated. Sticky Ribs: The first bite was a bit tangy, with a crispy exterior and tender, juicy meat inside. While slightly on the salty side, the flavor profile was bold and exciting. Definitely worth trying! Salmon Poke: The fish was fresh, and pairing warm rice with cool salmon created a delightful contrast. Adding ingredients like corn, mango, or pineapple could elevate it even further by introducing more layers of sweetness. Tonkotsu Ramen: Surprisingly balanced. Unlike many ramen bowls we’ve had before, this one wasn’t overly salty, which made it a comforting and satisfying choice.

Google
I heard lots of review that this ramen spot was pretty good from friends and online reviews. When we tried to go last night, we need to wait an hour, so we decided to come back at lunch instead. We ordered three bowls of Tonkotsu ramen and one “All-Star for Meat Lovers” ramen. At $30 , it felt pretty expensive. Even the $21 Tonkotsu ramen seemed overpriced. The chashu was dry, it was all lean meat. The broth also had a slightly greasy texture, which wasn’t very appealing. The “All-Star for Meat Lovers” did offer a good variety of meats, which was decent, but overall, I think this place is a bit overrated.

Google
Nice outdoor patio for a casual yet elevated dinner experience. My family ordered the gyoza, karaage chicken, tonkotsu ramen, all star ramen, and veggie roll and everything was delicious!! My sister said it was the best tonkotsu she has ever had! Our waiter was also very friendly and helpful in providing recommendations

Google
My sister and I came to Momosan Waikiki for dinner and it was fantastic! I ordered the Momosan Set - tonkotsu ramen + 2 sticky ribs. My sister ordered the sushi combination - 5 piece sashimi & 1 roll. All of our food was outstanding. We shared the ribs and wow, they were life changing delicious! The ramen broth was rich and flavorful, and the chashu pork just fell apart. Her sushi was also delicious. You can taste the quality in the entire dish, from the fish to the ginger to the wasabi, it was all incredible. We both left extremely satisfied and look forward to eating here again.

Google
We ordered the Spicy Tantan, Spicy Vegan Miso, and Tonkotsu ramen. If you have access to great ramen in Korea or Japan, I’d recommend enjoying it there instead, as this place doesn’t offer traditional flavors. The portions are large, so sharing a bowl and adding a side dish would be a good option.

Google
Food delicious, service warm, great location. Atmosphere has a corporate vibe, which isn't my style but lets roll with it. Worth trying, may be your thing. We had a picky eater and that was challenging. I would suggest adding kid's menu to make life easy. But what do I know?

Yelp
My wife and I have eaten here several times, service is always great, food is delicious. Get the FROZEN BEER!!! Sooo good!

Christine B.

Yelp
We were seated quickly when we arrived. This spot is a little farther down the strip of things so the crowds weren't bad later in the night. The service was prompt and friendly. Seating is out on the patio and they are far enough away from others that it feels intimate at your table. I loved the vegan ramen. The broth was tasty, hearty, and spicy (as advertised). The amount of veggies and tofu was perfect. It was a great meal.

Yelp
We were pleasantly surprised by the food here. We went without rez on a Weds night and got seated right away. We got: 1) rib appetizer - 4/5. Crispy on the outside and tender. 2) karaage - 4/5. Good crunch and flavor. I usually don't order this, but liked it! 3) spicy tonkotsu - 4/5. There was this citrus flavor at the end and it turns out they add a citrus seasoning to it! Our server was a good investigator and found it. 4) spicy curry-flavored noodles - 4/5. Thicker and heartier, almost Thai flavoring. 5) beer slushy - 5/5. Yummy! Kept it cold until the end. We've dined at Morimoto's upstairs and weren't impressed, but this ramen joint on the bottom floor was a better meal.

Christina Z.

Yelp
Nice outdoor seating for the evening to enjoy some solid ramen - the prices are on the higher side, but to be expected for dinner in Waikiki. I got the Momosan set - you choose 1 ramen and 1 side for $30. I had the Tonkotsu ramen which was flavorful and filling and shared my side (the 2 piece sticky ribs) with my husband. The sticky ribs came right off the bone and were covered in a sweet Hoisin chili sauce - probably my favorite part of the meal. My husband had the All Star ramen which included pork cooked multiple ways and steamed chicken and thought it was pretty good. Overall, a solid meal - definitely recommend the sticky ribs if you stop by!

Melissa S.

Yelp
Definitely expensive with tourist prices. I shared a vegetable roll, Gyoza, and chicken Ramen with my mother. Plenty of food for both of us. The chicken Ramen lacked flavor to me completely and I did not finish it. The Goza was delicious as well as the avocado cucumber roll I ordered. Staff for friendly, fast, and efficient.

Yelp
The perfect delicious, casual spot! We stopped in here for a quick dinner after a long day at the beach and hiking. We were sat and greeted quickly by our waiter... We ordered some cocktails and the gyoza... Everything was brought out quickly... the gyoza was probably the best one we had the entire trip! It comes out on a heated pan, so it stays sizzling. Then we ordered sushi and sashimi, and the rack of ribs... We were definitely not disappointed. The sunset was also beautiful from this spot... Would definitely recommend for a yummy, quick dinner!

Yelp
Came here during off hours so didn't have any wait for a table and staff were able to be very attentive. They are located very close to the beach so you get a slight view of the beach and ocean while you eat and you can go for a quick swim after. They have great happy hour and lunch specials and the menu is pretty big. I got their Momosan set which is their lunch special and got Tokyo Chicken ramen, Korean fried chicken, and a drink all for 30 dollars. My girlfriend got their yellowtail and salmon sushi rolls and they were decent size portions. Each portion had 8 pieces of sushi and all of it was very fresh. The ramen and KFC were very good as well. The broth was light and full of flavor and the noodles and chicken were delicious. All cooked very well and the KFC wasn't super oily or fried. Also wanted to really emphasize the amount if chicken they have in the ramen. I feel like usually you don't get that much meat but they have a decent portion of it. Overall would definitely recommend!

Jaimie S.

Yelp
Ramen craving!!! Their tonkotsu was so delicious and the pork on top had so much flavor! Such a delicious broth too! Spicy tan tan is very thick and more of a curry. It was good if that your thing. Didn't hit our ramen craving because it was curry. lol but it was good it just wasn't soup. Customer service was good. They checked up on us often I always appreciate servers like that. Our food and bill came out and was given all in a timely manner. Great ramen spot. Their selection is also not too overwhelming which I liked.

Yelp
Corner ramen restaurant in Alohilani resort. Recommended Lunch special ramen set with free draft beer or mocktail 12pm-4pm. Ask the server so do not confuse with the portion. The lunch set special choices for appetizers are less than the main appetizers menu (2 ribs vs. 3 ribs etc. ) Very good crunchy and fall off the bone ribs. We ordered tonkotsu and spicy tan-tan. Both are very good and portion is filling. The tan-tan is for people who prefers sweet curry. Else the tonkotsu is on the money. Service is pretty quick and good. Need to ask the host for the key to the restroom. Plenty of table inside and outside. Well deco and clean. View some of the ocean. Price is reasonable for Waikīkī ocean view restaurants. The menu is same for both lunch and dinner Recommended

Rachael A.

Yelp
Wonderful experience. Great food. Great service. Cute ambiance, especially because we wanted to sit outdoors.

Amy K.

Yelp
We came here for the ramen. Ordered the spicy ramen. The texture was decent but the soup was a little thick and needed more liquid in proportion to it all. They are in the safe side for spicy ramen level 3 out of 10. We also ordered yellowtail poke and yellowtail sushi. Everything tasted pretty decent. The sushi is really small so if you're hungry, you need to order more rolls. It's a plus they had nigori.

Hemali S.

Yelp
This was the last stop on our food journey through Waikiki! We went for lunch - 11:00 right when it opened up! The service was amazing! The amount of food we got was a lot for what we expected for lunch. We went with the lunch deal (ramen, appetizer and drink) for $30. We got the drinks within the first 5 minutes and our apps right away. Within 15 minutes the entree was also ready and it was delicious! The tofu was immaculate and so flavorful! Highly recommend!

Isabel L.

Yelp
Enjoyed a lovely dinner here and they were able to accommodate my larger party as well! Be prepared for a long wait during busy season/days - wait was about an hour and they had expected it to be as long as well. Majority outdoor patio seating and so nice to sit out there in the evenings. I ordered the tsukemen and I thought the broth was flavorful and thick, exactly what I was looking for! I got one of the matcha cocktails and I also enjoyed it, my partner ordered the blue Hawaiian cocktail or something of the sorts and also loved it! My table enjoyed their ramens too, can't beat their location as well!

Jessica W.

Yelp
Wanted ramen and I've been wanting to try this place for the longest time, finally went after watching the sunset on Waikiki beach. Went without any major expectations, just wanted a nice bowl of ramen and left ecstatic! It was one of the best bowls of ramen and sticky ribs I've ever had. Service was phenomenal and my matcha cocktail drink was so delish. There's apparently HHR, wish I knew. Will be a for sure must go to from now on when visiting. There was no wait when I went and we were seated promptly and served promptly.

Sarah B.

Yelp
We loved our date night here! Sticky ribs are SPECIAL. A must try. The yuzu margarita is delicious. Gyoza is excellent. Spicy tan-tam ramen is wow! You can't go wrong. Everything is a winner. Our server, Leonard, could tell we wanted to take our time and didn't rush us. He helped us pick some sake as well. The only thing that would have made our experience better was a dessert option. They don't have anything available. Even with that, I still give 5 stars.

Kevin J.

Yelp
A friend of mine had been raving to me about the place that does sticky ribs and was owned by a famous chef. At first i thought it was some sort of bbq restaurant. What he was describing sounded really good and at least trying once. To my surprise it turned out to be a ramen shop and the sticky ribs was just an appetizer. We Go together and he proceeds to just order the ribs and some karaage. I get the spicy dan dan and my wife had the tsukemen. The ribs were actually as advertised, its what i would expect from a world renowned chef. The ramen, unfortunately, was so over salted i struggled to even finish it! I know part of the reason was that i poured in too much of the sauce but still, shouldnt they know to control the flavor better? My wife also fet that her tsukemen was the same, so i felt validated to write this. In conclusion... i would come back just for the sticky ribs... probably to go. But I dont think their other items i trust enough for me to want to get a full meal experience

Caitlin R.

Yelp
This place was amazing! Make sure to get the sticky ribs-damn!!! Also had a sushi roll and the tuna tacos!!! All was amazing and it looks like they have a great happy hour.

Solongo E.

Yelp
Things went much better than our last experience! We decided to give it another try and the service this time around was impeccable! We also tried their Hiyashi Chuka which is their summer special dry cold ramen and it was packed with flavor and refreshing. Perfect for summer hot days. We also got the popcorn shrimp, spare ribs, pork buns, and spicy tan tan. The pork buns was still lacking something. If they add green onion or pickled onion , it'd elevate the dish and add more dimension to the flavor profile and balance out the pork belly fat . Overall, we had a good experience this time around and plan to come back for their happy hour :)

Victoria N.

Yelp
I grew up watching Iron Chef with my mom so I was excited to come here. Our server was friendly but could have been more attentive. He did sell us on their special: Hiyashi Chuka. So my fiance ordered that. I had the momosan set: tonkatsu ramen and a side of pork gyoza. The ramen was delicious! Great savory broth. The pork was a bit fatty for my liking. The pork gyoza was awesome! The scallion and ginger sauce were amazing. One thing about this place is we did walk into a 'brand' rather than a casual ramen eatery if that makes sense.

Diana P.

Yelp
I ordered take out and customized my chicken ramen. The quality was delicious, the noodles especially. everything was packed perfectly with necessary utensils and requested hot sauces. The chicken broth was delicious. Jamie was kind and helpful. While picking up my food the inside looked relaxed and nicely decorated. I'll definitely be back!

Jeffrey T.

Yelp
Played tourist in Waikiki during a staycation and stumbled upon Momosan Waikiki. Tried the Sticky Ribs and the meat just fell off the bone. I got the Spicy Dan-Dan, which is a brothless noodle. The menu states spicy and I so I asked for the spicy sauce on the side. I'm so glad I did. Even with the spicy sauce on the side and me going lightly, it was pretty spicy. I did enjoy my entree, even though it was a bit over my comfort for spice. Service was prompt and courteous.

Vanna L.

Yelp
We came here in July. They were very accommodating to our restless toddler! She even broke something and the waitress at the time was so kind to us. The food was great! We enjoyed what we ate. We enjoyed the outside seating especially for our daughter!

Steve T.

Yelp
Got the tsukenmen ramen +service is good +large portions -tsukenmen broth was flavorless and very watery -egg (photo) says it all

Jared W.

Yelp
Stopped in around 30 minutes from close and had no trouble getting a table. Usually hate being those people that show up right before close but got caught up exploring the island and really wanted to end the day at Momosan. All of the food was amazing and I really enjoyed the Karaage. You can tell they run a tight ship on the service and kitchen staff which was appreciated. Would definitely come back!

Tori S.

Yelp
We didn't have a reservation and were able to get a table within 10 minutes. We had a large table for just two of us, and how do you beat sitting outside in O'ahu. I ordered the Momosan Set with sticky ribs and Tokyo chicken. The sticky ribs were flavored well, but I didn't love how fatty the ribs themselves were. The ramen wasn't flavored enough for me; which could have been a user error in ordering.

Anna C.

Yelp
We were in the dining area downstairs which was fine, pretty patio area that shielded you from the busy street and pedestrians so we could eat in peace. I've heard the upstairs is pretty cool so I'll have to check that out next time. Our waitress was very nice and handled our bigger party with grace, kindness and a great smile. She really knew the menu and was very helpful. I had the Tokyo chicken ramen and it was very good but I think the dumplings stole the show!!

Liz B.

Yelp
Once again, a winner on the island. My friend and I stopped in for a quick bite (very quick we were in and out in 40ish minutes!) and the staff were welcoming and the ramen delicious. We shared the Karaage (so good and crispy) and I tried the duck special this time! I think I liked the tonkotsu over the duck special overall but still an amazing meal!

Steve R.

Yelp
Great food, nice location to just sit and talk and eat. One weird thing: we went on my birthday. I bought some relatively expensive whisky (let's call it mid shelf). It was served in a plastic cup. They just rubbed the wrong way. They did nicely get me a glass but I had to ask.

Thea K.

Yelp
Moroto food is always amazing. Four stars because of the price. The 90% outdoor seating offers ocean views or lush green garden surroundings. The servers are friendly and helpful. If you order the tan tan, on the side, order Chile paste and Chile oil with a touch of shoyu! Yummier! I'm not sure what the deal is with the all the cilantro stems. Is it on purpose or bad prep? NOT dog friendly but they do allow service dogs provided they follow some absurd restrictions. Eg. The service dog must sit UNDER the table.

Carmen G.

Yelp
One of our favorite ramen spots. My daughter absolutely loves the bao. My husband and I always get the spicy tan-tan. The noodles are nice and chewy with a creamy, spicy broth. The servers have always been attentive, efficient, and friendly. The lunch special is an awesome deal! $30 for a ramen, appetizer, and drink.

Julie V.

Yelp
Food was really good and so was the service. It was a relaxing place that you could still see the sun set from. We went here to early evenings dinners twice. I would recommend this place. Quick and relaxing.

Tahir N.

Yelp
Choice of outdoor seating. Friendly staff. Surrounded by green plantings with red flowers. Wife had the vegetarian ramen while I had Tokyo Chicken. She really liked the flavor and veggies. Really liked. Mine was also good, the mix of tender breast and dark meat and crunch of bamboo shoots. Bowl sheds heat a little quickly but I kept up and finished before it got cold. Also had the crab bun. Cute little sandwich that has good crunch and mild elusive flavors. Enjoy!

Britney H.

Yelp
The service and food was AMAZING! I wanted to try this spot during Happy Hour so I came in with a friend! We got the set menu and chose the spring rolls, sticky ribs, fries and Soucy Dan Dan noodles! The spring rolls were fried and had vegetables inside. In my opinion, the spring roll sauce was a little too sweet for my liking. However, I dipped the egg roll in the sticky rub sauce and it was PHENOMENAL! The ribs are completely fall off the bone and has a crispy fried texture for the battering. For the Spicy Dan Dan, the beef is very flavorful and you can taste it without the spice, the kale is a nice balance and veggie to the dish which adds the freshness to the plate and the sesame sauce binds and balances out the spiciness as well! In addition, I'm super thankful for Kayley as my server and giving us great recommendations and service while I was there. The ambiance of the restaurant is very soothing since I sat outside and the breeze was particularly pleasant at the time! TIP: Add sesame sauce slowly to get a better and more balanced blend in your noodles. I was splitting this dish with a friend. HAPPY HOUR is from 2-5 PM! We got the momosan set which I PERSONALLY would recommend!

Anna H.

Yelp
Delicious food. We ordered two bowls of Ramen and shared between the three of us, it was so filling! Highly recommend and the service was impeccable.

Suzie R.

Yelp
Amazing! Poke bowl was just what I needed after a day of shopping! I'm gluten free so they were able to make sure my poke bowl was gluten free and provided me with some tamari sauce. Service was great and they have the cutest little courtyard to eat. I wish I could take this place back home to Minnesota with me. Love poke! Mahalo!

Irene B.

Yelp
Day time service was great. We were seated right away. The Tan Tan ramen was delicious and not too spicy for me. The temperature of the soup should have been hotter. The daytime ambience was relaxed and easy to feel at home. My husband had the dipping Raman noodles. He enjoyed them as well.

duane d.

Yelp
Amazing Service at Momosan Waikiki! I had the pleasure of being served by Guy on his last day at Momosan Waikiki, and I couldn't let it pass without acknowledging his incredible service. He was prompt, polite, and attentive, making sure every detail was perfect throughout the meal. His professionalism and friendly demeanor truly enhanced the dining experience. Momosan is lucky to have had such a great team member, and I wish him all the best in his future endeavors. Thank you for making our visit memorable!

Sarah M.

Yelp
Super welcoming as soon as you enter. We sat in the outdoor area where we got a peek of the ocean. We had the combo - tonkatsu ramen with a side of ribs for 30. We chose based on our friendly server's recommendation and we weren't disappointed. The ramen had tender pork slices and a jammy egg, the noodle was a bit on the al dente side and the broth was nice but I wished it was richer - to me it didn't have the depth of flavor as some of the other ramen places I've been to. The ribs were sweet and sticky, we learned that it's cooked for 8 hours then deep fried. It fell off the bone and was incredibly delicious. One rib for each of us was the perfect amount.

Joyce L.

Yelp
This review is based on my takeout order. I was rushing to get to my next destination and I expected the ramen to be soggy; however, I was pleasantly surprised it held up. It still had a chewy texture to their ramen. Their tonkatsu broth didn't taste like it came from concentrated which I truly appreciated on their efforts for not cutting corners. The broth was flavorful and rich, simply delicious. The char chiu was on the fattier side and I ended up throwing most of them away. Otherwise, it would be a perfect bowl of ramen.

Ki R.

Yelp
Came here on a Tuesday after walking around Waikiki and shopping. The service is great and the food is good too. My wife ordered poke, and our friends ordered fried ribs and chicken dumplings. The ribs were so good, delicious, and full of flavor. Most of the food was great except for the poke. Hawaiin poke is made fresh every day, but Japanese poke is prepared differently as they marinate the fish separately for a longer time. Overall, it was a good dining experience. The prices are a bit on the up side, but this is Momosan. The outdoor seating is ok, but since you can't see the beach from patio it's probably better to sit inside with air conditioning. Enjoy!

Kelly F.

Yelp
When I was looking for places to eat in Waikīkī, a celebrity chef restaurant was not on my list, but my last night in Honolulu had me intrigued enough to go. I'm so glad I did! They had a great deal where a one app/side and bowl of ramen was $30. The portions were well worth it! I got edamame and seaweed salad to start, and both were wonderful. The tonkotsu ramen was super flavorful, the broth was rich, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. My waiter was awesome. A great experience!

Marie R.

Yelp
I'm usually weary of celebrity chef-owned restaurants/chains because sometimes they deteriorate in quality over time or are just poor quality to begin with but they're popular because of the chef. It's not the case with Momosan. We've been to one of Chef Morimoto's restaurants in Vegas and had the sticky ribs. That was an unforgettable dish! So with this visit to Oahu, we were able to check out this location. We were excited to see the ribs on the menu! We ordered two of the ramen sets. One tonkotsu ramen with the ribs, one spicy tantan ramen with karaage, a side of rice, and the pork belly bao. The tantan ramen was not bad. My husband did love it so that's all that matters. I did like my tonkotsu ramen! The broth, the noodles, the pork, and everything else! The bao was also good! My favorites were the ribs and the karaage. The sauce on the ribs is just out of this world! And of course you gotta have it with rice! The surprise for me was the karaage! It had this sweet hoisin sauce that just added extra umami to an otherwise typical karaage dish. The servers were super friendly, attentive, and quick. We were lucky to get a seat around dinner time. I'd love to go back here and get the ribs and the karaage again!

Evana L.

Yelp
Love the delicious and addictive sticky ribs! If you eat here, the sticky ribs are a must try. We had a large table for a group of 7 on their patio on a beautiful day. They had a really great lunch special set that included a choice of ramen, a choice of sides, and choice of drink for $30. They also offer happy hour from 2-5pm on appetizers and beers. The service was very helpful, accommodating, and quick. This is a good spot for large parties or a small group. It's across the street from Waikiki Beach so the setting is beautiful.

Jo D.

Yelp
You have to try the ribs! They are the best I've ever had! This place is right on the busy street, but it is quiet and is hidden by plants if you want to eat outside. The service was great, and the rest of the food was decent. The ribs though - seriously get them!

Michael V.

Yelp
My husband and I came to Momosan for a quick drink on our way to the beach. Can I tell you that our server Jia (Gigi) was absolutely incredible!! She was the friendliest person we've met in Waikiki and she made our visit incredible. The Mai-Tai's were delicious and the yuzu margaritas were amazing. We highly recommend this place to anyone visiting. We also recommend Gigi! She's the best!! Atmosphere was clean and fun too.

Sylvia V.

Yelp
So chic!!! This felt like a high end Asian ramen place right on Waikiki! My husband and I felt so satisfied and loved it as it was our honeymoon the food was perfection and well priced. I recommend!!

Gem P.

Yelp
Great ramen in Waikiki. Dined here as we were staying at the hotel and I'm so happy we did. The tonkatsu broth was so rich. Soft shell crab bao nice play on soft and crunchy textures.

Jenelle S.

Yelp
First of all, the restaurant is right by the water so the ambience is gorgeous. We ordered the sticky ribs which I cannot recommend enough times. They were fall off the bone, melt in your mouth, and full of flavor. We were sat right away and took a look through the menu. It was hard to decide because everything sounded good. My sister and I each ordered the Momosan Set - I got Tonkotsu and she the spicy tan-tan. My husband ordered the All Star ramen - very good as well. Our servers were great, very accommodating and understanding when my daughter made a bit of a mess under the table. I would highly recommend eating here if you're a ramen fan and can't wait to go back to try other items on the menu.
