What an awesome location! The building is beautiful! Large, spacious beer hall. While we were there was a family celebrating a special occasion and still PLENTY of room for patrons. The bartender was personable and knowledgeable! So glad we stopped! Do yourself a favor and stop in! Enjoying life 1 sip, 1 bite and 1 small town at a time. Explore everything!

Vibe, service, and music.. it can go bad bunny, it can go junior H… then One time I heard alternative. Quality design inside. Atmosphere is on point. Props to these guys and their work. Wish they had food.

The energy in this place is SO chill and I love the rustic spacious aesthetic here. My friends and I really appreciated the friendly bartenders and quick service! We had drinks and kicked back all night watching a football game on the projector!! I like that we are able to bring our own food or order whatever food we’d like to the brewery. Will be back soon! Would love to bring my puppy too I got to see some fur friends here as well. We always love that!

I recently visited Monochrome, and while the experience was enjoyable overall, there’s definitely room for improvement. The standout feature for me was the prices – they offer great value, especially considering the quality of the beer. Their signature “Dreamsicle” beer was a definite highlight, perfectly blending smoothness with a refreshing citrus twist. It’s the kind of unique, flavorful brew that keeps you coming back for more. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, making it a great spot to hang out with friends and enjoy a few rounds. The staff were knowledgeable and enthusiastic, clearly passionate about their craft, which added to the experience. However, where the brewery falls short is in its food menu. While the beer selection is impressive, the food options left me wanting more variety. A wider range of snacks or heartier meal options would really enhance the experience, making it a place to linger longer, especially for those who want to pair food with their drinks. Overall, Monochrome is a solid spot for beer lovers, particularly if you’re looking for something affordable and distinctive, and a menu upgrade would elevate it to the next level.

I went last weekend and customer service was awful. Bartender was unwelcoming, we asked for beer recommendations and he shrugged his shoulders. Owner needs to better train this bartender because he will be losing money and customers thanks to him. Bartender is bald -headed, short and on the heavy side, if you go and he is bartending save yourself a bad experience and go somewhere else. We will not be going back. There’s plenty of friendly breweries in the city.

Went to this brewery late on a Friday, excited to try it out. The place was pretty much empty. The bartender asked what we wanted, but kept checking his watch. I asked when they closed, and he said about an hour. My friend mentioned it was our first time there and asked for recommendations. The bartender just pointed at the chalkboard menu that is not that easy to read and walked away. He then served the only other group's drinks and turned his back to us, busy with something else. After waiting for some time, we decided to leave. Not the welcoming experience we were hoping for.

Great beers and a great vibe in a funky Pilsen location. Ample free street parking as well. I highly suggest picking up soup dumplings from Qing Xiang Yuan Dumplings and heading straight here. I had a michelada and a marzen. Wife had a hazy and a draft paloma cocktail. All were outstanding. Definitely check this place out.

Great locally owned brewery. Good beers, comfortable relaxed space and friendly service. It's definitely worth checking out!

Cute spot! Previous reviews said they had small offerings. Not anymore ! They now have excellent beer list! Speaking to the bartender, was told they had small list when opening due to Chicago beer laws. Now they have extensive list. They also have wine and cocktails. For suburbanites, there is plentiful street parking and around the corner. Pricing is very reasonable.

Luckily we found a nearby parking spot, which everyone knows could be tough in Chicago, haha. It's not super big, but has plenty of seating. The staff is friendly. It's always nice to be greeted when you walk in. The beer is decent, too.

I went back with a friend for a second visit and they are definitely way more settled in now. The place has a Mexican vibe/theme. The owners were both very nice. They have several beers on the menu now - mostly hazy IPA which is right up my alley! Good service, good beers! They also have Mexican cocktails, wine, mocktails, and other N.A. options. Very clean and spacious. Would recommend, will definitely return.

So happy to have Monochrome in the neighborhood!! We went last night for their public opening and the energy was amazing. Everyone seems super excited to have a brewery back in this space (used to be Lo Rez). The brewery is very spacious, allows dogs, and is great for kids. They have indoor and outdoor (covered) seating. Bring your own food, but they plan to have food trucks and pop ups. The beer menu was pretty good. A good variety of house beers, something for everyone - IPA, seltzers, stout. And they also had guest drafts from some pretty cool breweries. I liked their Epsicle Layers orange creamsicle beer and my husband liked the Tetrachromatic stout. You can get 6 ounce pours, which is really nice. Plenty of street parking, free wifi. What more can you ask for? We're very excited to visit throughout the summer!

Beers were amazing! People that worked there were super friendly, patient, and welcoming. They had darts which we had a blast playing and then watched some football on their enormous projector. I can't wait to go back!

I was sad when Lo Rez closed last year. Even if it wasn't my favorite brewery, it was still nice to have a South Side brewery, and I really liked the space, both indoor and the patio. Thankfully a new brewery has come in and is using the space again. It looks exactly the same as before (minus the logo being new). They only have 3 beers of their own on tap, which is admittedly low, but at least they have multiple guest taps and seltzers to fill out the beer list. Hopefully they continue to brew some more new beers as the months go on, if so I'll happily come over and check them out. Overall I'm just glad a new brewery came in and took advantage of the space.

Nice giant space. The brewery is newer and while the lineup of their beers was small, what I had was great and the bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Great space, friendly staff, and excellent beer. I can't wait to see what's brewing in the future.
