Hadn't been in a while, so I couldn't remember how much I like it... glad we went, because the food was really good. Even the full Greek salad was delicious! Multiple employees stop by to check on your experience, and they are all very friendly. Recommend giving this spot a try!

Hugh shout out to Moon River staff and Britney! My son passed away and I wanted to have his favorite food (moon river) at his memorial. Not only were they understanding but had 12 pizzas HOT and ready for 5pm pickup. God bless every one of you and thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. You made a hard day a little easier and very tasty.

What's the pizza was excellent. It was probably some of the best pizza I've ever had. Got a thin crust supreme and it was delicious. The crust and underside was perfectly crisp and not overcooked. The servers were great and very attentive. The atmosphere was nice and clean and a little retro. Would definitely recommend and most certainly be going back...

Really good pizza restaurant. It has a bit of a hole in the wall vibe, but the food and service are great. I had the Special Pizza without black olives. The flavor of the pepperoni and sliced meatballs was delicious. The Pizza crust never became soggy. The cheese was also very flavorful. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

The salads were amazing and the pizza is Fantastic! They even offer green olives, which you don’t see often! The slices are huge but don’t forget about the crust…oh my!! The waitstaff is so attentive! Our overall experience is one I recommend to everyone!

We enjoyed our visit and the food. However, their specialty pies, or just toppings they put on regular pizza. I would’ve preferred strongly that they were made a specialty pies and then cut. However, the price was not bad, my girlfriend enjoyed her salad, the beer was cold, and the staff was friendly. I only know was that we asked for extra sauce and did not get them until we asked after our food had arrived.

5 stars all around. Came in and had their lunch special. The staff were awesome and welcoming from the very beginning. There was even a guy that came around to make sure I didn’t need a refill, or anything else. Now for the pizza. Excellent! It was hot, and delicious. Sometimes you don’t know what you’re gonna get when you order slices from somewhere, and this place does not disappoint. Come for the pizza, stay for the good vibes and great people. I’ll be back🙌🏻 Just want to say. I’ve come back since, and it was not a fluke. The service is an 11/10. You can tell they love their job. I was asked if I wanted a refill multiple times and was asked about my shirt. Definitely felt wanted and welcome. Love this place💚

Awesome pizza, love ‘The Special’ slice, but without olives - that’s just me though. Very friendly team members, quick with soda refills! Best deal: 2 one topping slices and a soda for $9.

A vintage, chill, friendly place to have a fantastic pizza! Ordered the large white pizza and added bacon, just to make sure I would have left overs for the next day. The crunch, and mix was flavors is a hard one to compare to other places. While waiting and eating my pizza I was not the only one excited that they had the Mummy playing, it seems like we had made it to a Pizza Movie night lol Service was fantastic, and we were even treated to some delicious chocolate cupcakes. Coming back soon!

Fantastic as always! Pizza was fresh, cooked perfectly. Not over cooked or undercooked. Service was super friendly and down to earth. Checked on us several times. We got the lunch special and one regular slice. Great deal! Seating was clean, and the art was fun! Highly recommend

We all know the pizza's really good here at moon river pizza, but really, what is delightful here is the service. I had at least 5 different people ask if we needed anything like our drinks cups need to be refilled etc.. all of them seemed to Just really take an interest in our experience there. This is a great model for other restaurants to follow. Enjoyed!

Absolutely the best pizza place in Murray Hill! The staff is the best land the food is outstanding!

Shoutout to Avery who made sure my order was perfect and was very kind to delivery i to me personally. I was waiting next door at Town Beer during my all vinyl music DJ event and she surprised me with my super delicious veggie pizza pie! I saved a few slices to enjoy the following day at home...Ao glad I could continue to enjoy! Great food, customer service and location...Pizza lovers must visit Murray Hill to enjoy the best pizza around! Cant wait for my next visit soon!

The disco ball is the first thing I loved about this place upon entry. The customer service is amazing. Menu on the wall for everyone to see. Plenty of seating. Great music to enjoy while you wait on your food to arrive. Cheese sticks were good, the pizza slice was delicious, and the eggplant calzone was ok. The regular calzone was really cheesy and the Trex I was told was really good.

Love grabbing to go slices from here. They're always great portioning and the pie is super reasonable. The staff here always seem to be passionate about the accuracy and quality of the orders too. As far as the restaurant it feels super clean and feels just like what you would expect from a local pizza shop. It doesn't feel too upscale but just right and family friendly.

My calzone was so good my daughter stole my leftovers:( It was a Friday night and there was a line but it moved quickly. The counter staff and wait staff were very friendly and our drinks were never empty. Typical pizza restaurant with tables and booths. We'll be back it was fun and the pizza was good too!

I'm not a huge pizza eater but when I crave pizza, Moon River is the only place I want. My husband and I love their white pizza. When I do have that craving for pizza, I don't know what it is but their T-Rex (loaded with all meats) just hits. It's so good. Their pizza slices are big. Two is enough for each of us and sometimes we'll order to reheat at home. What I love the most about this place is the service. Everyone is really nice but there's one specific cashier that's always super happy and friendly. He's funny and just always in a good mood.

Came here for lunch after a day of thrifting with a friend. I wanted to know if they had gluten free crust and they did. They also had vegan cheese. I asked about pesto and they had that too. Finally I was able to enjoy a pizza after so long. I thanked the cashier profusely because I love pizza and I missed eating it. I made sure to add pepperoni for old times sake. The place is pretty spacious. Staff is chill and laid back also. There's a massive menu on the wall right before you order. The gluten free crust only comes in the 10" size. It's also thin crust. My friend ordered their lunch special. Two slices of pizza with ham and mushroom as well as a drink. The cashier noticed I was wearing a Beetlejuice shirt, and gave me a Beetlejuice sign for when the person would bring the order out. I thought that was really cute the way they do their signs, and how they just happened to have a Beetlejuice one. I would definitely love to come back here in the future so I can try other variations of the gluten free crust. It's a different flavor obviously, but still good nonetheless. I also asked if they did delivery or third party, and they said no. So I definitely need to come back for more.

Hubby and I tried Moon River Pizza recently. Unfortunately, I wasn't a huge fan. Hubby enjoyed it but wasn't in love either. The ordering process is a little different than your average pizza place. You wait in line, order, get a number then grab a table. We ordered a couple beers and a large pepperoni pizza. They do let you prepay for additional beers/drinks or you can order from the server making rounds in the dining area. To me the pizza was just okay. Cheese and pepperoni were good but I didn't care for the sauce too much. The crust was too thick, definitely more of a bready crust than I like. The slices were floppy and didn't hold up well. The pizza wasn't bad but just not my style.

Best pizza in Jax. The ingredients are fresh and plentiful. The pizza is always perfectly cooked. The atmosphere is friendly and bright. If I lived closer, I'd weigh 300 pounds.

Got a large take out build your own pizza on a Wednesday night & the place was crowded, always a good sign. Our take out took about 30 minutes & was delicious. They're not shy about toppings. The price is a little on the high side but you definitely get what you pay for. Would definitely go back when in the area.

Moon River is a staple in Jacksonville! It's a great place to go with friends or just pick up a slice you're craving on the way home. The people there are nice and it's a very much a relaxed vibe.

Moon River Pizza The last time I visited Riverside to review Lola's Burritos I noticed at least a half dozen restaurants that I'd heard about repeatedly here and throughout social media. This time I ended up in Avondale hoping to try Josephine. Poor planning on my part and I missed their lunch and way too early for dinner. So I took the opportunity to walk about the streets. I passed a French sweets spot, a chocolatier, The Brick, Biscottis, Southern Grounds, MOJO #4, Mellow Mushroom, Blue Fish Oyster Bar and lastly Casbah. It's been over 10 years since I'd stepped foot in Casbah my only other time back when I worked Ruth's Chris downtown. I sat in for some coffee and hummus. Both were excellent. While waiting out the torrential spring up shower I asked my server what pizza she'd recommend. Without hesitation and to no surprise she said Moon River. I really just needed affirmation. So off I went a mile down the road. Within a few steps of the door I was cheerfully greeted by Cin(sp). "Hi sweetie what are you having?" I love southern charm. "I have no idea" I explained letting the next guy order. Around the corner appeared Jason with all the friendly charisma of Cin but a red beard to boot. "What can I get you buddy?" I ordered their meat lover T-REX ($26) all the meats plus extra mozzarella. I grabbed a Coke and a large booth next to a trio of JSO's finest and watched a commemorative showing of Pee Wee's Big Adventure as he passed from cancer at age 70 that day. Everyone, including the officers ‍ were a little bummed. Out came my pizza pie oven hot and aromatic. The toppings were huge chunks of meat mortared with melty mozzarella. I sabotaged my own cheese pull by recutting but it had epic potential. For all the debate on New York vs Chicago vs Detroit vs Napolitano Moon River is a terrific traditional hearty hand tossed pie baked to perfection with a robust sauce that squeezes out as you approach the crust. Incredibly flavorful off the pan and just a dash of grated Parmesan, some crushed red pepper and a few banana peppers and I was in Pizza Paradise. The vibe was totally chill with some cross between EMO punk and Wilco playing overhead. More than a few times I could hear staff singing along in the back, something I absolutely love to hear, signs of a happy crew and positive work environment. Another surprise experience and win for the Riverside food league. Visit Moon River Pizza and tell 'em Large Marge sent ya!

Delicious pizza made with fresh ingredients and the large is enough for a family of four! The service was exceptional for a Friday night, our 13 year old and his friends were well taken care of and the 2 large pizzas fed them perfectly. The pizza was a perfect balance of sauce, toppings, and cheese! I thought the sauce was flavorful but not over powering. The restaurant was a little loud but that was probably because we had 7 boys with us! We love Moon River!

Flavor of pizza was great, but WHY is it always so chewy? My jaws were sore from chewing after the 3rd slice . No desire to go back. I had 3 visits in a week and every pizza pie was chewy.

This was a great decision. One of my pals suggested we hit this place up after a baseball game and it was a wonderful idea. Everyone from the cashier, to every single server was nice and attentive. Even all of my picky kids didn't have anything but great things to say about the food. We ordered 3 large pepperoni pizzas, salad and cheesy bread. Everything came out perfect and pretty quick. Unfortunately I didn't get any pics of the food... but trust me when I say-- it's worth it.

My husband and I ate the while pie that is how delicious it was! You have to order the cheese sticks as well! It was very economical like $25 total. My husband lives trying new pizza joint and this one wowed us. We ordered take out on our way home from the arcade and our son was sleeping in our car. It took 20 minutes for our food to be prepared. They did not spare the cheese or toppings like other pizza joints and they're sauce was very unique and enjoyable! Their ranch was tasty as well to dip your pizza crust in! Highly recommend and will be going back again!

This place is great! The medium T. rex pizza, medium pepperoni , and large house salad are our Normal orders. This will feed a family of 6 with leftovers! I tried a slice of veggie pizza tonight and it is my new fave! The garlic on it was superb!! The staff is amazing and they go above and beyond for their customers.

Pizza good. Salads good. I like Carmines Pizza better but Moon River freezes better and repeats better! They also serve slices which is handy for lunch

I can't really speak about much of their food because I get the same thing every time- white pizza with artichokes and absolutely must have the glaze sauce! Everyone I've ever been with enjoys their meals as well, so that tells me it's all good! Update to add: The staff are a good portion of what gives this place its good vibes. Everyone is so friendly, seem genuinely happy to be doing what they are doing in that moment, AND they make amazing suggestions thay have only made my pizza even better! I'll try to get a pic next time. I'm bad about that.

Amazing service, kind and very staff, delicious salads. We are from out of town and found this GEM after a long day of traveling. Highly recommend and will definitely be back again!!

The pizza is so delish! I dig their out of the ordinary hot sauces & sprinkle flavorings. I also like their eclectic beer selection! The edgy environment - but family friendly - is what helps this local joint stand out!

Moon river was the pizza I've been looking for since moving to Jax. Nice crust that holds its own. You can taste the quality in the ingredients . Staff was very kind and courteous and the place was clean. Will def be back!

Had lunch at Moon River today, and we opted for the Vegetarian pie with the non-dairy cheese. Cooking a vegan pizza presents some challenges and it was a busy time for sure, but it was a pretty good pie. I would say the sauce and crust were not the most flavorful on this pizza. Otherwise they did a pretty decent vegan pizza. The staff is super friendly and attentive and the atmosphere for a lunch is perfect. You order when you arrive and then take a seat and your meal will be brought out to you. It's pretty easy and laid back...

I've been going here since I was in middle school way back in '06. I grew up living in the neighborhood that my family and friends would just walk or skate to get a few slices of pizza with me. Glad to see that it's still a staple here in the Murray Hill area. Many great memories and great slices. Get you a slice of T-Rex if you're a meat lovers fan! My personal favorite combination is a slice of T-Rex and White. Throw some G Spot seasoning on your slices. Yes I said G Spot seasoning. Just do it!

Looked for a new place to find good pizza and picked Moon River Pizza. I split a pie with a co-worker. They got bacon and my half was onion. I went to pick it up because it may have been to far for delivery and I wanted to see the restaurant in person. The restaurant is on a street that is being renovated and is filled with food options. I dreamed of taking the rest of my miserable day of work off and making my own food tour...... to dream. I'll do it another day down the road because this is a dream that everyone can make come true. Moon River Pizza is a very respectable looking pizza place/restaurant. It was filled to capacity at 12:30pm and all the employees were friendly and welcoming. I told them my name grabbed a couple of sodas and left with my pizza. I already saw myself getting a pizza from there for my family in the future. Now to the important stuff. The pizza is great. New Jersey pizza great. My onion pieces were incredible. Filled with onion and cheese. A delicious sauce and crust that felt like it was made with water imported from the northeast. My co- worker lived the pizza too. Hopefully, the next visit will be as great a the 1st. I'm hopeful that the pizza just didn't seem great because my work day completely sucked. However, a Wawa just opened a couple of miles from my house and I may be buying subs for a couple of weeks before returning here. I will definitely be returning for more pizza and to try a Calzone but it may be a few weeks from now.

First time and we were pleasantly surprised of the quality of food and service! I never would have guessed this place was here until I saw something on IG. We arrived in the mid afternoon so parking nor waiting to order was not an issue but by the time we left, there was a line of people and traffic noticeably picked up! The decor is definitely unpretentious, colorful, artsy with laid back vibes and 80s & 90s punk & heavy metal music playing--which we enjoyed and allowed us to reminisce the days of our youth while enjoying our meal. The staff were all welcoming and clearly liked their jobs and working together. We're always searching for good pizza--all different styles. Hubby and I split a large Gorgonzola salad which they provided 2 bowls that we didn't even have to ask for--the Gorgonzola was generous and dressing was excellent. We ordered a medium The Pizza with sausage and it was delicious--spinach and mushrooms were fresh, not canned--I HATE frozen spinach or canned mushrooms! Ingredients were nicely balanced. Crust was perfectly crusty and chewy. We had various staff checking in on us which was much appreciated. Looking forward to stopping by again if/when we're in the neighborhood.

The pizza is fairly good, but be aware it is rather pricey. Service was okay, cause it was take out. Lighting is low and seems dingy/dirty. Like the cleaned with dirty mops and hand towels. Don't plan on a second visit.

What a gem! From entrance to end this place is fantastic! We were greeted with warm personalities and a laid back pizza joint feel. I can not rave enough about the decadent authentic flavors of appetizers, pizza, and even salads. It is a "craving, have to have it!" type pizza. Ohhh the dough, cheeses, and marinara sauce! Every employee on the floor stopped by to either recommend their own favorite food tweaks to enhance our experience or to simply make sure we were enjoying the feast (portions are huge). It was cool to see them preparing the fresh dough in house. We had the pleasure of an incredible conversationalist named Elex gracing our table. It made the night for us because he was incredibly bright and insightful. If you want fantastic food, ambiance, and service visit Moon River! Say hello to Elex for us!

We were excited to be in this area tonight and go to Moon River. I didn't realize the hubby had not been to Moon River since we moved from Fernandina several years ago. The Greek salad was nice, the pizza delicious and the service top notch. We had several adult beverages while waiting and enjoyed those as well. Their pies, calzones, and pizzas are all delicious! Fresh ingredients and made to order. The only reason for the four star rating was the really rude, obnoxious family that decided to sit behind us and basically ruin our experience. I know there is nothing the restaurant can do but honestly I would have called the police to get them removed. Ridiculous behavior and looking for trouble. But on a positive note, Moon River is the bomb! Check them out! Murray Hill and Fernandina Beach.

The first time I tried to visit Moon River was when I was already in the area but it happened to be on a Sunday and they were closed. I returned just at opening time months later to try a slice of their pizza. Like many shops that offer single slices, they had tons of half baked cheese pizzas on racks waiting for customers to add the topping before they put them in the oven to finish cooking. I ended up getting a piece of pizza with onions, peppers, pepperoni, and Italian sausage. I added a Greek salad and an order of "breadstyx". After 10 minutes, my to go order was ready. The crust on the pizza was nice and crisp and the cheese was well melted. Aside from the pepperoni, the toppings were kind of just thrown on and they were sparse. I couldn't really justify the extra $2 of toppings. The cheese sticks had the same great dough that was used for the pizza and they were soft and pillowy. I love very cheesy cheese sticks and I thought these were lacking some in the amount of cheese on them. But even though some of them were more bready, they were still very good. I probably should've just stuck with the pizza but I often like to add green veggies to my meals. Unfortunately, the salad was disappointing and it looked sad. It was as if they just used the toppings they had for the pizzas and put them on top of a bed of large lettuce leaves and called it a Greek salad. White onions were used instead of red onions, tomato slices replaced cherry tomatoes, kalamata olives were substituted with black and green olives, mushrooms were added, and the caesar dressing (on a Greek salad) was too thick and tasted like it had a mayonnaise or miracle whip base. The taste was offputting so I ended up using a dressing that I had at home. Overall, I enjoyed the pizza and breadsticks mostly due to the great crust. The value is probably much better with ordering a whole pizza so the toppings can be plentiful. At $.50 for each topping that is added to the cheese pizza slices, I am not sure that it is worth it. I wish that they already had some specialty pizzas that they sold by the slice and a better Greek salad, which was a miss all around.

I did take out and I called ahead on my way home. I was able to find a close spot and run and get my pizza paid for and head out quickly. They were semi busy on a weeknight after work. I was confused that they didn't have chicken as a topping for their pizza. That's a first for me at a pizza place. So I just got cheese and bacon. The pizza was great but I don't get the hype the place gets. I'm still giving it five stars because the pizza was great, service was great and ordering it was easy.

Amazing pizza!! And salad. Love the Greek dressing. Goes well with the pizza as well! Very fresh ingredients. I love the crust as well! Also, they don't smother it with sauce so you can definitely taste every delicious bite.

Always met with kind humans, great service, and amazing pizza, I've gonna through the roster and never disappointed! Also LOVE the jams they pump and that they keep it loud enough to groove to while I shovel face!

I havent actually been inside, so again its difficult to give a proper rating but the pizza I had was called the Special. Its a pizza with all the toppings (pepperoni, italian sausage, peppers, black olives, onions) and done really well. The crust is good, the toppings are plentiful and the cheese is melty..perfect pie!!

Think we found our new favorite place! Staff is kind, pizza is amazing & you actually have the ability to order just slices which I love. Grab a slice & head across the street to Fishweir & grab a pint, you'll be very pleased.

This is an island favorite! Very casual dining, you can really create your pizza by the slice, or a whole pie!
