Top Happy Hour Spots Opened Every Day in Philly

"This Center City hotspot offers not just one, but two happy hour options to enjoy post-work or for a later night. Stop by Sunday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. or 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and on Fridays and Saturdays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., to sip on some stellar cocktails (such as the strawberry ginger mule) and enjoy some delectable bites (like the braised mussels and the grilled lamb lollipops)." - George Banks-Weston

9 Best NYC Sandwiches of the Season - Eater NY

"This micro eatery in the East Village specializes in reinvented Vietnamese food, sometimes with Japanese twists. Sure, there are great breakfast sandwiches — including one called hangover cure with bacon, Spam and hash browns— but the unholy marriage of pho and banh mi into a pho short rib sandwich ($15, broth for dipping $3 extra) is more delicious. It almost seems like a Vietnamese take on a Philly cheesesteak that has lost its cheese, but better, with layers of beef deliciously zapped with onions, scallions, shallots, and cilantro with a kick of sweet hoisin." - Robert Sietsema

Morea - Review - Midtown Village - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Between lamb chops stacked into a pyramid and drinks sprinkled with lavender buds, everything at Morea looks almost too good to eat or drink. The American spot hits all the lively, cocktail-heavy, neon-lit neighborhood notes, complete with velvet booths and a backlit bar. It serves two dozen specialty cocktails, mostly made with mezcal and tequila. When it comes to food, they have small plates like chile garlic shrimp, a cheesy pear and fig flatbread, along with larger dishes like lobster rolls, blackened salmon, and linguine pescatore that you can pair with any drink on the menu (we checked)." - Candis R. I think this place is pretty and sleek. The ambiance is a great place for date night, a girls night, or happy hour. I ordered the arancini, lamb chops, asparagus, and cheesecake. The arancini was just ok, the lamb chops and asparagus were definitely a hit. The cheesecake was good too. My friend ordered a seafood dish that was supposed to come with scallops and it was missing. They ran out of scallops but we should’ve been notified of that when the order was placed. The service was ok, the server could’ve been more attentive.

Do not go here for brunch. Ive been here for drinks another time and it was fine. The crab Benedict was good but the waffles were very plain, easily something you could make at home. We didn’t even bother to drink our hot chocolate because it was so watery. The atmosphere of the place was also just… awkward? They left burned out tea candles from the night before on all the tables too. Just a serious lack of attention to detail.

Went out for restaurant week, ladies night on a Wednesday evening. Sat at the bar until our table was ready. Cocktail was delicious a little pricey definitely not getting drunk lol. There was a set menu due to restaurant week bur the choices were great, the food was amazing. Highly recommend the salad with apples and goat cheese. salmon over sweet potatoe puree and strawberry cheese cake for 🍰 dessert. Small intimate venue. Loved it

Went out with the girls tonight & we had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant. Our waitress was Ava & she was an absolutely amazing. She was very attentive & friendly. The drinks were great & so was all of the food. I highly recommend the flatbread - that was delicious. The atmosphere was cool. Overall we had a great time & would come back to this spot.

Came here yesterday with a group of 7 for a friends birthday and we all loved it and had a great time/experience. The food, drinks, ambiance and service were all amazing! The waitresses were all so sweet and everything came out pretty quickly. Will definitely be back again to try some more food and drinks. Thank you!

Update on 2/3/24: This was my second time at Morea. I really enjoyed the food and craft cocktails the last time I was there and they didn't disappoint this time either. It was the day of Restaurant Week and I thought it would be full at 1pm on a Sunny Saturday; however, it was quite empty. When we arrived for our reservation there were a few people at the bar and no one seated in the dining room. That was a big change from my previous visit. The decor and ambiance are still very inviting. The Restaurant Menu wasn't extremely exciting, so we ordered from their Brunch menu. What We Ate: 🍄 Mushroom Flatbread 5/5 🦐🦀🥬 Morea Seafood Salad 5/5 🌯🥓 Breakfast Burrito w/side of bacon 5/5 🍹Morea Colada 5/5 I would highly recommend for the 2nd time, stopping through! Cheers 🥂 4/5/22: Morea was an excellent choice! The Brunch menu has a lot of great foods to sample, you'll have to plan for a repeat visit. The cocktail menu has tasty and unique offerings. The Cafe Diablo was my favorite followed by the Rhu Tang Sour. The entire staff was friendly and accomdating. Matt was our waiter and he was the BEST!! I would highly recommend treating yourself and trying out Morea! 😃

We had a great 1st time experience at Morea! The atmosphere was super chill upon entering and the music was dope too. We were seated immediately and our waitress was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in making our final food selections. Even the chef came out and greeted us! Before even having our food and drinks come out we were pleased with everything so when the order arrived and was AMAZING we were sold! Will def return!! Thank u for a great experience!

Google
Morea, happy hour is one of the best in town ! Came for a quick bite with my mom right at 4PM and we instantly fall in love with the decor and ambiance. It’s cozy and chic with a full bar. I would recommend sitting by the windows in the back or windows in general. Staff was friendly and attentive. All the food was delicious and delivered to the table hot. My favorite was the fish tacos and mussels. The rum runner cocktail; I had three. So that should tell you something lol

Yelp
I went here with a partner just to check out the spot. It was a real cool, relax spot, I forgot the name of my waiter however, she was very comical and just her delivery of things. However, what wasn't comical was her recommendation of the coconut margarita. That was unfortunately underwhelming and definitely not the best part of the entire experience even though it was highly regarded as a very good job. It just taste very milky/watery and just didn't like the other drinks dead. However, the drink I had was a peach Cosmo, and that was absolutely delicious. My partner had the mule and she seemed to enjoy it as well. If I were to come back here, what I would do is just tell the bartender to surprise me. I would love to see what the bartender does and how creative her skills are. The happy hour drinks are good, but you can tell they're overall just basic. I would do it from a regular drink menu and go from there.

Yelp
I came here for brunch with a friend and was shocked to see we were the only people in this restaurant. The brunch menu was great, it was hard to decide what to get. I opted for the crabcake benedict and my pal got the chicken and waffles. Not a crumb was left on either of our plates at the end of the meal. The Bloody Mary's I drank were good, but I was bummed to see they didn't offer the Bloody Mary flight anymore (just the mimosa flight was on the menu). Our waitress, Ava, was friendly and funny. I'd come back here again, without a doubt. For brunch, for dinner, whatever. The couches were comfortable and the ambiance was pleasant and I will say once again that I truly don't understand why it was empty at noon on a Saturday. All the people waiting an hour in line at Sabrina's or Green Eggs or whatever other brunch place in trendy nowadays need to just head on over to Morea instead.

Yelp
Came here for restaurant week with a friend and swear I had the best salmon ever! I had the mussels as the started course and they were soooo good as well! The salmon was crispy and sweet and was on top of a sweet potato base . For dessert, I had fried Oreos and vanilla icecream. The waitress was attentive and sweet and the overall restaurant had a good environment. Mussels (8/10) Salmon (9/10) Fried oreos (6/10)

Yelp
We walked in and was greeted and seated immediately( we had reservations). Our waitress came over quickly and poured some water and asked if we wanted to start with anything to drink. We ordered 2 mimosa towers ( came with 3 different mimosas each and avocado toast). Our waitress took quite a bit to come back over to get our food orders. We finally ordered and my order was incorrect. I ordered crab cake Benedict and the waitress brought me crab cake sliders. By the time my correct order came out my friend finished eating. Thankfully The crab cake Benedict was good . Then I had to keep trying to get our waitress attention for the check. Our waitress was really nice ( not sure if she is new). Before we left she did thank us for our patience.

Yelp
Morea has become one of my favorites spots in Center City!! As mentioned before, the ambiance, lighting, music and atmosphere around me each time is one to enjoy. This particular evening, I decided to do dinner instead of my usually late night happy hour (notes below). Enjoying a FULL dinner experience really enhanced my experience. The short rib was seasoned well, the Brussels were crispy and cooked just right. The portion size was enough to be filling and take home. Their late night happy hour is truly worth it! My personal favorite items are the Drunken Bar B Que wings (so good), and the Love Park Lemonade; their cocktails on draught are great! The staff at Morea are great! From management to all aspects of staffing, I've been welcomed and overjoyed with the amount of positive engagement! Chris, Darla, Aiden and absolutely each person behind the bar. I recommend checking Morea out when you have the chance! Cheers!

Yelp
Stopped in for Saturday morning brunch and was not disappointed! This is a pretty cool spot with different types of seating and the decor/lighting created a nice vibe for brunch. We had a larger party and half the seats were couch style which we liked. The service was good. The coffee and other drinks took a bit long to get back to the table, but they were rather busy at the bar area. All the food was very good! They have quite a range. Our orders ranged from a strawberry French toast to a lobster roll. Everyone was rather happy with those meals. I'd like to go back for some cocktails and check out some of their dinner options.

Yelp
Came here for a late brunch and loved the mimosa flight. There were 3 flavors- blueberry, pineapple, and orange- which were all delicious. It also came with a piece of avocado toast which was a nice addition! We also ordered the breakfast sandwich and chicken and waffles. These were ok but nothing standout. The breakfast sandwich was just eggs and bacon on an English muffin; it tasted good but had missing something- I think it could have been better with a sauce or cheese. Overall a solid brunch experience.

Yelp
Me and Hubby had a date in the city to see Chris Rock. It also happen to be restaurant week. Morea was the first place that came up in Yelp so we decided to check it out. The pre-fixed menu was good. Drinks were amazing. Staff was polite and our server was attentive. Nice date place

Yelp
Morea was cute unexpected spot we popped into for a cozy date night. The ambiance was dark, romantically lit with dark pops of light and minimal contemporary decor. The staff was attentive and friendly. The service was quick for a busy Friday. The food was very delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed the shirt rib, Mac and cauliflower pizza. The prices seemed a bit high for what you get but I think we can chalk that up to post COVID inflation. I was bummed they didn't have a pretty common gin Beefeaters to make my martini. My husband LOVED his drink which was called Sage advice and he said he would go back just for the drink.

Yelp
Went to Morea a few weeks ago and really loved the ambiance and vibe inside. They have a full bar with lots of cocktail options - the springtini is not on the menu (but should be!) and I recommend. Our favorites were the braised mussels - it is in a nice coconut curry sauce and it is very flavorful. The chicken is also delicious- extremely juicy and succulent. Not dry at all! Our waitress was very attentive and sweet.

Yelp
This is a Happy Hour you don't want to miss! The food was good. The drinks were strong. The service was amazing. I decided to stop by this establishment because a friend recommended it to me. I ordered the watermelon cucumber mule (all well drinks for happy hour) and it was so flavorful and STRONGGG. I also had the barbecue wings fried crispy with a side of blue cheese. For my second round I ordered the curry muscles which were packed with flavor and so tasty. For my second drink I had the Indulge which was good but I should have stuck with the first one I had. The energy and ambiance in the establishment was great and you can tell the workers enjoy coming to work. I would definitely be coming back to try their dinner when I'm in the area.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick drink after an event and am so glad I did! While this is not my favorite quadrant of the city, I have found myself in the area on multiple occasions for shopping and the like. It's nice to know there's some great options for drinks and food on 11th! Morea's bar is beautiful and I especially like some of the special touches that add to the ambiance: bar lights, chairs, furniture, etc. My pisco sour was absolutely delicious and made with an aquafaba foam that I always enjoy, as opposed to egg white. The vibes on the Tuesday night I was there were a little off - or maybe it was just where I was sitting. Staff was congregated at the bar and chatting loudly. It was a fairly slow night so no biggie there, but for sure something I took notice of. Hoping to be back to try the food at some point very soon!

Yelp
We had a cute little date night here. It was very warm and inviting, and very diverse. It's cute for a date night but also good for a friend type dinner. There was a group of 10 celebrating a birthday beside us with no issues. Dress code can be casual or dressy tbh anything goes. Food was good, not amazing but definitely not bad either. We got the kale and goat cheese salad, lamb lollichops were pretty good, seasoned well, truffle mashed potatoes which was really nice and the meatballs which could also be seasoned better. The drinks were amazing. Get one of the cocktails on the menu and you will not regret it. Staff was polite, our server was attentive enough and don't remember "waiting" for her at any point. All in all, I recommend and would come here again.

Yelp
My friend and I came here for happy hour and thought it was just okay. We both heard great things about this place so I would come back and give brunch or dinner another try. Am not interested in returning for happy hour. A decent amount of food/drinks on the happy hour menu, but nothing blew us away. We ordered the general tso's bao buns and blackened fish tacos. I think both dishes were filling, but flavor was a bit weak. Also ordered the watermelon cucumber mint mule and rum runner. My mule was refreshing and not too sweet. The rum runner as expected was extremely sweet. Very nice and clean inside with good service. A quiet spot!
google avatar

Sheree E.

Yelp
Would not recommend my french toast was under cooked. And my daughters eggs were not seasoned
google avatar

Carissa L.

Yelp
Yuuuuuuum. I was able to try a variety of things: Mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, truffle mashed potatoes, and the hummus. It was all delicious! I could've eaten a pound of the mashed potatoes on their own. The sprouts had some sweetness from the balsamic but they weren't too sweet. The prices are pretty fair too. I thought our server interrupted us quite a few times but she was nice and I know she was just trying to do a good job. I'd definitely go back.
google avatar

Yelp
Very cute establishment located in the heart of Center City. I came here with a group of 5 other ladies (I made 6) to celebrate a bday. I had a Bora Bora as a mocktail and a short rib grilled cheese. I enjoyed both! The service was good - the owner came to our table and chatted with us and our waitress was pleasant and considerate. The atmosphere of the restaurant is lively and it is a tad small inside but there is also outdoor seating. I thought it was the perfect place for our small gathering... I will definitely return.

Yelp
Its so disheartening when your already going through something & decide you want a night out on the town you pick a spot get dressed (call in all the bells & whistles) to make yourself feel better just to get there at 9:39 (your reservation was for 9:30 & to be seated at the bar might i add) & the facility to be closed doors locked no staff members in site that there broke me & my spirit i head so many great things about this place I'm VERY disappointed I didn't get the chance to experience any of it

Yelp
As a first generation American, who lives and grew up in the south, food is important. Morea Philly was one of the only restaurants that I was able to eat at that I felt satisfied after my meal and even finished what I ordered. I had the macaroni and cheese, and the meatballs that were on the appetizer menu because I really couldn't decide what to order and I wasn't disappointed. Our bartender was a nice lady who was definitely seasoned to the game so she was mixing us up a ton of great drinks, and even gave us some free shots. Ambiance was cool. It was pretty loud but we did eat dinner at 11 PM so maybe that's the time they transition into a more club/lounge vibe. Otherwise, one of the better experiences I had while in Philly.
google avatar

Yelp
Great service and food. Perfect for a date night! The lamb is delicious and the drinks are also delicious.
google avatar

Lailaa S.

Yelp
The food was great I had balsamic roast chicken, short rib ravioli, balsamic Brussels sprouts. I also had the mussels which were delicious had a curry under tone only thing missing was some bread to sop the yummy broth with. All items were on the restaurant week menu.

Yelp
I recently had a delightful experience at Morea, and I must say that it exceeded all my expectations. It all started when I dashed out of work and bumped into my friend Zack on Chestnut. He suggested we grab some happy hour drinks and I was game. We decided to check out Morea since it was nearby. As soon as we walked in, we were struck by the pristine and crisp decor, and the dim lighting only added to the ambiance. We took a seat at the bar, and Adam, the bartender, promptly introduced himself and offered us the happy hour menu. He even gave us a sample of some of the happy hour beverages to try before we made our decision. We ended up ordering the rum runner, which was absolutely delicious and highly recommended. The fish tacos, wings, and mussels that we ordered were equally impressive. I must say that Adam's service was excellent, and he made our experience even better. Outside of happy hour, the cafe Diablo is also a highlight of Morea. The dinner menu looked amazing, and I could easily see Morea being a great spot for a date night. The overall high-class atmosphere of the place was very impressive.

Yelp
Delicious food and impeccable service! Ventured to Morea and was greeted by a friendly hostess and modern decor. Sarah was our waitress and she took great care of us. We actually ordered the drinks (and food) which she recommended and we were so pleased. We started with two cocktails (prickly rose, fig get about it) and they were lovely. And for food, we started with the broccoli rabe and opted for the roasted chicken and mushroom risotto. These items were all flavorful and plentiful. High strongly recommend heading to Morea for a good time--I shall be back!
google avatar

Angela K.

Yelp
I would give Morea 5 stars for their cocktails with no hesitation and 3.5 stars for their food, giving it an overall of 4 stars. Martinis are usually not my drink of choice, but I had to try the highly raved about spiced pear martini. I was not disappointed in the least. When it comes to martinis solely, the spiced pear martini may have been the best martini I've EVER had! There was the perfect amount of cinnamon and warmth to the martini, and the pear garnishing was very fresh and tasty! As for food, Morea's lobster and crab bisque is a popular item. It was a tad salty for my preference, and the bread it came with was slightly burnt and hardened. The wild mushroom flatbread was good! I would not recommend the lemon garlic shrimp linguini (too bland and overpriced for the portion) or their Mac and cheese (very "fake" cheese flavor).
google avatar

Tiffany W.

Yelp
I thought Morea's Happy Hour was excellent. So remember I am only reviewing the happy hour. I had two drinks, lamb chops, and wings. The lamb chops came with a rosemary mint sauce that was perfection. The wings were good, I just like mine a little harder. My bartender was attentive and when I sat down he asked specifically if I wanted happy hour or a regular dinner menu, which I liked the option. My drinks were well mad, but not strong at all. My bill was $36 and that seems fair for happy hour. I had no issues with the food or service, but the restaurant is a little small, which still wasn't an issue. I would definitely come back for their happy hour.
google avatar

Jitendra G.

Yelp
Service Horrible The bartender server didn't know the short ribs are beef she said the ribs fall of the bones Bloody Mary flight served with a cold burnt toast was just disgusting There was no choice of brunch food items Nothing stood out as a place I would even suggest my friends or family Just not the place I would revisit Ambiance was ok May be if they served good coffee it would be great for the family visiting Jefferson to come and get a cup of coffee The coffee served was so old Sorry to be blunt
google avatar

Yelp
Go here for brunch!! Absolutely incredible selection for sweet or savory offerings. Huge cocktail list featuring the BEST spicy espresso martini I've ever had. Mild spice and lots of chocolate flavor. The chicken on the chicken and waffles were perfect, not too much batter. Fluffy waffle and delish thick syrup! Super cute atmosphere, I'd love to stop by for happy hour one day soon! Service was very friendly and attentive. A new fave spot!!

Yelp
Went to Morea for a date night dinner. We made reservations and were seated promptly. It was busy for a Saturday night but not overly crowded. Overall give them about a 6 out of 10. Service: The server walked over and said so you guys decided what you want. This approach would have been okay if we were continuing a discussion but this was her first contact with us. No introduction or anything. We had to ask for a refill on a drink multiple times before getting the drink and the same with some additional crostini we had requested for our soup. She took forever to bring it to the table and then charged for it lol. She just appeared to be extremely aloof. Food: The mac and cheese looks beautiful but had no flavor whatsoever. The braised beef was super tender but no flavor. The mashed potatoes and asparagus were prepared well. The lamb lollichops were 5 out of 10 at best. Maybe ask for some balsamic glaze on the side or something because the chimichurri which comes on the side was not good. The best part of the meal was the Brussel sprouts and lobster and crab bisque. If I were to return it would be for those two things. The sangria was my drink of choice. It came served in a whiskey glass instead of wine glass and was mostly ice. The drink was flavorful but Im sure I would have enjoyed it better if served in the proper glass. So two entrees, one appetizer, two additional sides, one cocktail and one non alcoholic beverage plus 18% gratuity and the bill was $171. I was a little annoyed by the bill because the food and service was subpar. The menu varies depending on when you're there. So I would suggest if you are going to try them out maybe go for lunch or happy hour.

Yelp
Restuarant week is an opportunity to learn more about restaurants in Center city. What I learned about Morea? The restaurant has great ambience with a fantastic bar and several unique seating styles. They are tables booths small nooks with seating and a very special chaise type dining area for two. Overall the restaurant had a very nice appearance. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted and seated unfortunately by the kitchen. This perplexed me because there were many open seats. Even with social distancing it was not necessary to seat us by the kitchen. After about 45 minutes one couple left and another couple arrived it wasn't overcrowded that we had to be by the kitchen. Strike one! The options were OK but more limited than other restaurants offering a restaurant week menu. Strike two. My meal had a decent flavor however it was lukewarm and considering AGAIN there weren't many people in the restaurant Strike three! Lobster & Crab Bisque more like lobster and crab inspired none to be found in the bowl! Strike four. The dessert lacked imagination and taste it appears to be from a grocery store such as Acme or Giant. strike 5. The service was neutral not good not bad just a person doing their job so no complaints. This was a lost opportunity to gain customers and positive word of mouth feedback. One positive, the ambience! However for food, service and presentation 5 negative strikes. Good thing this isn't baseball because I would've been out early!

Yelp
Restaurant week.... 5/10!! Bar area dark; had to turn on my phone light to read the menu! My drink was ok as they ran out of peach schnapps so I didn't get the full taste of it. My husband ordered an old fashioned but it was missing an ingredient and it was very strong. We ordered the tangerine and candied bacon salad for starters. The brought us 2 blue cheese wedge salads as the bartender put in the wrong salad. I kept mines and the brought my husband the correct one. We both ordered the short rib ravioli. Anyone who's been to Grand Luxe knows they had the best short rib ravioli and the cream sauce was to die for. This, was ravioli with lil short rib in brown gravy. Very disappointed to say the least. He had the chocolate cake and I had the strawberry cheesecake which was ok! After spending over a $100 plus gratuity, this place was basic at least!

Yelp
A fan of Morea. This new place in the downtown was a great spot to get brunch and catch up with some good friends. The space itself has a lovely atmosphere and large windows to give a good outdoor feel. Serving staff was good and provide awesome insights to the menu. The mimosa flights really got the job down if you know what I mean. 3 different flavors served with avocado toast. (Delish). The Mojito could have been better. Not as fresh as o was expecting. Overall good experience.

Yelp
*drinks only review* Katie, the bartender was KILLING it behind the bar. Solo bartender for the night and still managed to whip up the best espresso martini I've had to date. Stumbled upon this bar whilst walking the street and so glad I did. Cheers! LG,JK

Yelp
I've been here before and always forget I was there! Ha! Service always good, food on point. I remember because they have a smoke n envy tequila mezcal with vegan foam that is the friggin best. This time had the wings which were solidly crispy and the ahi stack--- hit very well. It slaps as they say! The panini was good, nothing fancy and the lobster roll--- mmmmmm! Not all soaked in butter was the bread as I've had before. Delectable and full, no filler here. I'd def have again and for sure will remember and bring even more people. I think others forget how good they are too!
google avatar

Amy Y.

Yelp
The four of us came here for my birthday on a whim. The restaurant itself was pretty dark so it was difficult to take pictures when we wanted to. Drinks and appetizers came first, the wild mushroom pizza was average, but the ahi tuna was flavorful and fresh, we devoured it completely. I ordered the lobster roll, which was returned immediately as it had not been fresh (lobster had a mush-like texture). Thankfully I was able to replace the dish with Blacked Salmon. The flavor was decent, but wasn't a fan of the sweet white sauce underneath. My friends got the braised short ribs, linguine pescatore (seafood not fresh), and grilled lolli lambchops. I'd say to play it safe, get the meat dishes. For the price, i believe the restaurant should have a more consistent selection of fresh seafood dishes in conjunction with the meat varieties.
google avatar

Qin Z.

Yelp
Nice interior and very nice waiters. We started off with the lobster and crab bisque. Pretty good starter, very creamy some pieces of crab meat. Slightly on the more salty side, but the creaminess balances it out a little. The fish tacos were decent. There wasn't too much flavor to them. It needed a kick to it and the fish was slightly dry. It wasn't bad, but wasn't the best. It had a decent amount of acidity , but that was it. The "short rib grilled cheese" which is basically a melt was pretty decent. Love the curly fries and the perfect crispiness of the sourdough. Great bread to pair with it. The short rib could've used a stronger flavor as it got muted by the cheese. Everything was a bit more on the dry side. Overall a decent melt. The pricing leans slightly on the pricier side, the food is decent to above average, but a nice place for a date.

Yelp
The restaurant week dining experience was decent, but I still can't feel a little bitter from their service. I came here to dine out with my friends to commiserate over recent bad news and enjoy the solace of our friends. However, when I learned that my wife could not join us until much later, I asked to order from the well-regarded dinner restaurant menu for my wife with consideration to take it to go if my friends had to leave early. To my shock, the waiter jokingly called me a 'cheapskate,' if I wanted to order from the restaurant menu with the backup plan of taking it to go if my party member arrived too late. Of course, he quickly became amenable to this plan and went out of his way to be very accommodating for the duration of the meal and my wife was able to join me after my friends had left. Perhaps I was a bit sensitive given the circumstances, but a simple 'no' would have sufficed without the unnecessary hurtful humor. As for the decor, Morea looks amazing and gives the neighboring Milkboy a run for its money for the afternoon happy hour crowd. The outdoor seating are comfy and inviting. The indoor services were attentive and for the most part courteous. I had the Rosada drink (tequila/grapefruit) and it was a well made drink, a bit pricy for $14, but matched my salty, sour mood quite well. The brussels sprout and quinoa salad was very refreshing and delightful and the short rib with asparagus was hearty (slightly tough) and balanced delightfully with the chili marinade. The chocolate cake was dry and forgettable. In short, this is a place that I would recommend to friends for a nice date night out, but please refrain from calling your guests 'cheap.'

Yelp
I went to Morea for restaurant week and loved the ambience there. The staff was very friendly and attentive. There were several fun drinks on the menu and you could even watch the bartender smoking herbs for drinks. The soup was creamy and delicious! The muscles were good but had a coconut flavor so if you are not into that you most likely wouldn't have liked them. The Crostini's served with the appetizers were really hard and made a mess. The short rib plate was good but the asparagus were completely over cooked and mushy. The chili shrimp bowl what is great! Just enough spice! The chocolate cake was rich! They were out of pumpkin dessert but substituted cheesecake! The major disappointment was probably because of restaurant week. The appetizers came out and were finished before drinks came. As soon as I was done one course the next was already there. Reservations are for 7:00 and the check came by 745! Way too rushed for me.

Yelp
I came here with friends for brunch while I was in Philly. The atmosphere was nice. The drinks were ok. I had a Rosada which had Tequila and Grapefruit juice....was quite refreshing. As a meal I had a mushroom pizza, which was also very good and large enough to share. My two friends had the Mimosa Flight, which was actually cool; it consisted of 3 shots of different flavors of mimosa and it came with avocado toast. They seemed to enjoy it. My only complain was the waitress. I mean I guess she was doing her job but I felt she was trying to "up sell" a little bit too much. We almost felt pressured to get more food we didn't want. She also originally forgot my pizza and tried to act like she had already put it in. Besides that it was a good place to eat and grab some brunch if your in the Philly area.

Yelp
My friends and I hit Morea up after completing a 15k and also to celebrate my birthday On Open Table they will only accept reservations for a maximum of 8 people. I had 10 in my party and made a reservation for 8, but put in the notes I would like a reservation for 10. I followed this up with a phone call and they were very accommodating. Our waitress Sue was nothing short of amazing Once I told her what my taste was in drinks she offered up the Colada which was reminiscent of a pina colada on the rocks with a hit of tequila Sue told me the Short Rib Grilled Cheese was fabulous so for my entrée I got the Short Rib Grilled cheese, and baby my taste buds were rejoicing It comes with perfectly seasoned curly fries I also had the Lobster Roll For me, being a Marylander this one missed the mark for me. I thought the aoli would have elevated the flavor, but instead It was a little bland. I asked for some Old Bay and I felt this took this lobster roll next level Since it was my birthday they presented me with a chocolate chip cookie cup with vanilla ice cream in the center and of course a candle. The cookie was warm, crispy on the outside and ooey gooey in the center. The warmth of the cookie melted the ice slowly and made for a very happy birthday girl So flipping delicious that my friend ordered one too. So, in conclusion don't sleep on Morea and make sure you ask for Sue because she will not disappoint she even let you know where to park SN: this restaurant is very small. Reservations are suggested

Yelp
Good food, good drinks and good service. Vegas, sat us at our table, took our orders and served us. She is so pleasant and attentive her patrons. She makes this place a 5 star. Happy hour was offered to us and I am so glad it was. We got to try more small plate items. Drunken chicken wings are juicy, slightly sweet, slightly salty. Just the perfect balance then you have the creamy blue cheese dip which complimented these wings. Finger lickin good. Fish tacos, light, refreshing and crisp. These tacos were filled to the max. You have fish, tomatoes, onions, cabbage, maybe a verde sauce with a creamy sauce. Those two really made this dish delicious. Maybe a slice of lime would finish this dish off really well. Coconut mussels, these were fresh. The crispy toast for dipping were done perfectly. The coconut base was light and pretty good. The General Tso Bun Bao, these are phenomenal. If you had to pick anything off that menu, these are a must have. The General Tso chicken is crispy, saucy, sweet and spicy with the added pickle peppers makes these buns some tasty bite size goodness. The chicken marsala is delicious. Chicken was tender, juicy and perfect balance of marsala sauce with mushrooms. Fingerling potatoes were perfected baked. And the broccoli rabe is slightly steam and maybe tossed in something. I could not tell what type of flavor it was. The shrimp risotto is creamy, fresh and filling. (This was my daughter's dish and I had a small bite.) The beef short rib (my husband's) was melt in your mouth good. This came with truffle mash potatoes and asparagus. He said it was very good. We did have drinks, Allagash, old fashion and a coconut mojito. All drinks were great. We finished it. Lol. The chocolate mousse cake was the perfect ending to our dinner. Sweet, rich and creamy. Street parking. This place is definitely very shabby chic cute. Plush chairs and mini velour like loveseat. White slab walls, blue accents that accompanied most tables. Very beautifully decorated restaurant/bar. Thank you for making my daughter's 21st birthday memorable.

Yelp
I think I gave it a five star because the food was accurate and plus the couches are really really comfortable that is why I think Maura is one of the greatest breakfast restaurants. --as narrated by my 8 year old nephew.

Yelp
This little gem tucked away on 11th street packed a big punch! You know we had to do it up for Restaurant Week 2021! Reservation was for 7pm - we arrived just after 7:00 due to parking complications, however, we were accommodated and greeted by a pleasant hostess when we arrived. The acrylic barriers at the end of each table made it tricky to navigate through the restaurant, but I completely understand the need for them and how it would make the restaurant more welcoming to an apprehensive guest. Prix fixe menu for $35/person. Drinks are not included in the price, but guess what? I still treated myself to a cocktail! Watermelon Pisco Sour. I liked the appeal of this drink but I have to admit, it wasn't my favorite. I couldn't really taste too much of the watermelon purée. Pear and fig flatbread to start: *chef's kiss*. I've mentioned this in several of my reviews, but I love the combination of sweet and savory. It was very delicious and came out crispy and hot. Vegetarian entree was a portobello cap with mixed veggies/roasted potatoes. It tasted great and was filling, but I secretly hoped the vegetarian option would be the roasted cauliflower steak. And then there was dessert! Strawberry cheesecake that didn't have a graham cracker crust? It was a little odd to me, but still pretty decent. I devoured the strawberries on the side before I tapped into the cheesecake. Portion sizes and prices are reasonable, the service was perfect. I'd come back to try their lunch or regular dinner menu items. Thanks, Morea!

Yelp
We stopped here our first night in Philly. As we sat down we realized it was happy hour which is always a plus. It wasn't far from our hotel which was great. It was a lounge atmosphere good for date night or girls night out. I ordered the lamb chops and wings. The lamb lollipops with the raspberry mint sauce was tender and the sauce was amazing. The Chile sriracha wings of course were great as well. I'm a tequila drinker so I ordered Indulge off the happy hour menu. The drink was refreshing and not too sweet, which is perfect for me because I do not like drinks that are sweet. Our server, I hate I cannot remember her name, but she was sweet and attentive.

Yelp
The ambiance is quite cozy and the food and drinks were amazing. Cocktails are a must have, very wonderfully crafted with lots of different flavors, ingredients, spices, etc. An actual cocktail bar! A lil pricey but well worth it for the quality of what you get. Great staff as well. Worth stopping in for a classy time.

Yelp
New. Exceptional. Contemporary. Owned by Scott Hockfield restaraunt, Morea offers American "resort-style" cuisines made of fresh ingredients. The food is of great quality, the menu choices are of variety with new flavors to try, and the service is on point. I would describe this place as an upper-middle end class restaraunt. It won't break the bank and is affordable for the close to high-end expierence you get. I would highly recommend this place for any date, celebration, or a treat yo self day. I ordered the steak, shrimp roll, grilled octopus, mojito and blood orange mule. Each dish left a memorable impression with the smart combination of flavors they infused with every dish. Steak with chimchuri, octopus with a hint of mint, mojito on draught with a single cubed ice frozen with mint and lime chunks. I have absolutely no complaints towards their food and hospitality. Our waiter checked on us every so often. We didn't have to wait long for our check, and our food came out in a timely manner. Morea is the place for any special occasion, unique plates to try, and close to high-end expierence. The only comment I have is on their shrimp roll. The "roll" they served the shrimp in looked like it was on a toasted white Wonder bread slice from the grocery story. It was kind of funny. But nevertheless delicious. I'm also surprised in their lack of online reviews. This place deserves more publicity for the expierence they deliver.

Yelp
Can't get enough of this place! Came back for a second visit for a double date and really enjoy my time here with my loved ones. The vibe is always set, and the food is always on point. The spicy Margarita was actually pretty good and has a nice little buzz to it as well. Until we meet again Morea!
