JenChan’s Southern-Asian Meal Delivery Service May Open a Restaurant in Cabbagetown, Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"I note that Mouth of the South closed in June, less than a year after opening in what had been Cabbage Pie pizzeria on Carroll Street; the restaurant's menu included sandwiches like smoked brisket and a vegan eggplant bacon, lettuce, and tomato, as well as wings and salads." - Beth McKibben

Brunch Takeover at Mouth of the South in Cabbagetown Labor Day Weekend | Eater Atlanta

"In Cabbagetown, I’m excited by a newly opened restaurant staging what promises to be an epic brunch this Sunday, September 2: the spot opens at 10 a.m. for a “brunch takeover” featuring the kitchen crew from neighboring Little’s Food Store, baker Sarah Dodge, and East Atlanta’s Emerald City Bagels. The takeover menu includes pastries from Dodge, bagels topped with smoked salmon and dill cream cheese or with avocado from Emerald City, and Little’s Southern breakfast plate, shrimp and grits, and biscuits with pork sausage gravy. Mouth of the South is serving as host and bartender with a full range of breakfast cocktails, and brunch runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; the restaurant occupies the former Cabbage Pie space on Carroll Street." - Beth McKibben

Menu for Mouth of the South in Cabbagetown | Eater Atlanta

"Reopened in the former Cabbage Pie space on Carroll Street in Cabbagetown after a split with co-owners, I found Mouth of the South’s finalized opening menu features shared plates like nachos and three types of wings (including Korean fried), four tacos — notably the smokey oink with pulled pork, grilled pineapple, and hoisin barbecue — which can be made vegetarian on request and ordered with either a flour or corn, hard or soft shell. The meatless options continue with sandwiches such as a vegan BLT made with eggplant bacon and fried green tomatoes, and there’s a brisket and Sriracha mayo Philly French dip for a hot take on the cheesesteak. The restaurant recently acquired its liquor license, has been stocking up on beer (including Iron Maiden’s Trooper collaboration with Robinsons Brewery), and is located at 186 Carroll Street SE, Atlanta." - Beth McKibben

Cheesecake Factory’s Grand Lux Cafe Opens at Phipps Plaza | Eater Atlanta

"A Carroll Street restaurant that was once affiliated with Illegal Food and is reported to be open, though it may still be awaiting a liquor license; social posts have referenced the lack of liquor with hashtags like '#prayingforbooze2018' and there have been no recent updates on the licensing status." - Beth McKibben
