Mriya in London is a hidden gem for authentic Ukrainian cuisine with a modern twist. The dishes are beautifully presented and full of comforting flavors. The mashed potatoes with creamy beef stroganoff-style topping was rich and hearty, while the charcuterie plate offered a true taste of tradition with vibrant sauces. For dessert, the syrnyky with berries and pistachios was a standout—light, tangy, and indulgent. The atmosphere is cozy yet stylish, and service is warm and attentive. Perfect for anyone wanting to explore Ukrainian flavors beyond borscht. A memorable dining experience that feels both homely and refined.

I’m glad I discovered this Ukrainian bistro in West Brompton. It’s a tiny but cosy space. I started with the borsch, which tasted a little thinner than the ones I had in Poland at first, but as I dug into it the meat, potatoes and butterbeans made their presence felt with every spoonful. For mains I had the rabbit varenyky, which was hearty, and ideal for a wer, cold October evening. The quality of the Ukrainian wines quite impressed me. I wish they had a few more options by the glass.

I had dinner at Mriya Neo Bistro for the first time three months ago with an Ukrainian colleague who highly recommended this place and vouched for the authenticity of the dishes. I absolutely loved the flavors and the relaxing environment so I decided to come here for my birthday with my wife and my 4yo. I'd recommend the Borsch, Varenyk, and obviously the Chicken Kyiv. Definitely my go-to place when craving for Ukrainian food.

Usually I come here for quick lunch or sweets. The food is truly delicious, authentic and tasty. I like the combination of classic traditional food recipes with modern personal chef touch. It feels like at home. P.S. I would like to give the room for improvement. When I have take away, I wish it would be in proper microwave-safe container without any loss of food presentation. Last time I took away syrniki for my friend and it turned to be disastrous when she opened that small container full of running cream. Please think about it.

👍 I organised a private event at Mriya Neo Bistro for about 20 people - and after the great experience we all had with Olga & her team, I’m planning a second private event there now. 🥳 🤩 The selection of Ukrainian snacks and canapés was generous & delicious! 🇺🇦 🥪 My personal favourite was probably the salo. 🥓 🍾 It’s also nice to see unique Ukrainian wines on their list - you should definitely try some! 🍷 👋 The service on the evening was amazing, the room was beautiful & set up nicely for the event. 🍶 💬 Communication with the team at Mriya was quick, easy & efficient 🙌 - in sharp contrast to some restaurants which can be very slow to respond. 🤔 🤝 The prices are fair, the staff lovely & the quality of the food outstanding. 🫶

My family and I celebrated New Year at Mriya, and we would like to say a huge thank you to the entire team for such a wonderful celebration! The food was absolutely outstanding - our favorites were the kholodets, herring under a fur coat, duck, and shashlik. Everything was delicious and beautifully prepared. The evening was accompanied by live music throughout, with an excellent repertoire that created a truly festive atmosphere. I would also like to especially highlight the quality of the products - it is always top-level at Mriya. The black and red caviar was simply incredible. Every member of the team did their best to make our celebration joyful and memorable. My family and I truly enjoyed every moment and left with the best impressions. Thank you for an unforgettable New Year’s Eve!

The staff are friendly, but unfortunately there’s little understanding or respect for Ukrainian cuisine. I ordered Chicken Kyiv — an iconic Ukrainian dish — and it was the worst version I’ve ever had: thick panko crust, the wrong cut of chicken (thigh instead of breast), and dry meat that has nothing in common with a real Kyiv. For £25, expectations are naturally higher. The mashed potatoes lacked proper butter, cream, and the right potato variety. It’s a shame, because Ukrainian cuisine should be something foreigners discover and fall in love with — not an embarrassment like this.
