MUJI Market

MUJI Market is one of my favorite stores at Chelsea Market! This shop truly has a little bit of everything! It has food, home supplies, clothes, and even aromatherapy and stationary. I have visited at various times during the day. My most recent visit was on a Saturday morning. It wasn’t crowded and was easy to walk through and shop. Previously, I visited in the afternoon. It was extremely crowded and a bit difficult to walk through due to the amount of people so I highly recommend going in the morning. The staff are always consistently friendly, and I always find great items every time I shop here. Definitely a go-to store in New York City! I highly recommend MUJI at Chelsea Market!

Love this store! They sell it all! Prepackaged snacks, beverages, sweets, along with home decor, stationery, robes, and so much more! I even had lunch and the most divine chai! Tried the Yakisoba Pan (sandwich) and miso soup! Both very flavorful! Can't wait to try again

The small food section in the store is a bit different from an ordinary MUJI Store, some of the snacks is imported from Japan, and quite nice.

Muji Market at Chelsea Market is a bit of an enigma—part café, part lifestyle shop, part mini convenience store? We weren’t quite sure if it was a restaurant, coffee shop, or a minimalist version of Miniso. While we didn’t try the food (and saw some negative reviews about it), the retail section was great! They had a cool selection of travel essentials, writing supplies, and simple yet stylish home goods. We especially loved the cute plates and bowls. If you’re looking for a spot to grab unique, functional items with Muji’s signature minimalist aesthetic, it’s worth stopping by. Just maybe skip the food!

This Muji store is super well-stocked, with a huge focus on food. There are snacks, seasonings, drinks, and tons of tableware. There’s even a robotic barista arm making coffee, and you can order food too. Everything is so complete—it really made me feel like I was shopping in Japan!

First time I’ve ever gone to a Muji cafe! This store has some of my favorite stationary, and now also serves light bites and artisanal beverages. The server, Isaki (who had a very kind demeanor, I might add) recommended the spicy tuna onigiri, which comes with a hefty portion size and only costs a little over $5.00 — likely the most cost effective meal in Chelsea market. And the mango matcha is great! Not too sweet and made with higher quality matcha than most cafes have to offer. Will definitely be back!

Went here for a quick lunch. Fast service and easy choices, and the food was tasty! I was having difficulty ordering online, which they prefer, but there is a kiosk as well. The flavors of the salmon bowl are diverse and clean, although mild and not so expressive. $19 for the bento, $5 for the onigiri, $6 for a miso soup, and $10 for a matcha latte. These are definitely high prices for such simple meals, but I understand the convenience. The employees were jokingly making rude remarks to one another in Japanese. Kind of funny to watch but also a bit of a pity to hear.

This was a great experience! The staff were very friendly and the drinks and food were super impressive. The strawberry puree and the matcha latte complimented each other so well. It was the perfect sweetness for me. The dorayaki was so bouncy and I really enjoyed the texture and the flavors of the marscapone with the red bean and the matcha. I've never had anything one like that before and wish I got another one. The panna cotta was pretty good, I really enjoyed what might have been a blueberry compote on top. I think the snacks were a bit on the pricier side compared to other places, but it was definitely worth it! I found this out later, but there's more drink options if you order from Jarvis, the barista robot. Warning: Space is very limited (maybe 6 seats), but my friends and I got really lucky :)

Muji's a Japanese brand known for their home goods like bedding, basic skincare, kitchenware, good quality clothing in neutral tones, suitcases, and their ample stationery including notebooks and pens. I'm a big fan, and happy another location opened up in the city, this time as part of the trendy Chelsea Market! This location for the first time has a "Muji Cafe" featuring a small menu of a few drinks and sweet or savory bites. The location also featured a selection of Muji packages food, clothing, stationery, and luggage, but it is a much smaller store than their other stores. Pros: The staff here are friendly and communicative, calling out when the dorayaki is cooking so people know that their food is being prepared. Food is made fresh, I was impressed with the deliciousness of the dorayaki, which is two small pancakes pressed together with cream, red bean, and a flavoring (I got sweet potato). It may be the star of their market!!! There's also a robot arm that can make you a latte, very cool. I came on a Sunday at 4pm, so the wait was only 10 minutes to receive my food. The only downside is that Chelsea market brings a bit of chaos, so seating was tough to grab. Lining up for the cafe was also a bit chaotic since the store is so small, with separate lines to try the robot or to order from the cashier. I would suggest you expect to shop a little, then grab a bite and go, maybe bring your food to the main Chelsea Market seating. But do stop by, it was a wonderful little experience and the food and drink were refreshing!

Muji Market is finally open! I came on my day off during the week. There wasn't many people and the bar seating was mostly available. I can't believe this store that usually sells home goods and stationary is now selling food...although I did start buying their chocolates when it was on sale (so decadent btw). I ordered a hojicha pudding, because where else can you get that?! and dorayaki. The hojicha pudding and dorayaki is so delicate and delicious but I wish it wasn't $7 for a tiny thing.

I love Muji for its household goods and apparel and was super impressed by its cafes in Japan. I was super excited for the opening of the Muji Market cafe section and stopped by to try it out during its soft opening. I bought a matcha muffin and my friend got a matcha latte. In the grand scheme of NYC, these items were rather average in taste but really high in price! After tax the muffin (small/medium size) was $6 and the latte at least $8.... For these prices I'd rather head to a specialty shop where I know I'm getting a pastry that will allow me to sample a sliver of heaven. Or I should just go to Costco and get 8 giant fluffy muffins instead. The service was really kind - I think they were a landing team from Japan just here to oversee the opening so I'll have to check back if it's the same in the future. Either way, I'll stick to the non edibles when it comes to Muji.

Very cute concept but the food fell flat. We came on Saturday around noon and it was packed. The market is half cafe half food store. There was very limited seating on a first come first serve basis. We waited about 40 mins to order and eat our food. We got the kumbo onigiri, karaage onogiri, mini curry, hojicha pudding, strawberry matcha and yuzu matcha. We wanted to try the dorayaki but they sold out so get there early if you want it. The onigiris barely had any flavor and kumbo/karaage, they were basically just giant balls of rice. The curry could have used more salt and flavor. The pudding and drinks were decent. Overall, come here for the experience and the cool robot coffee maker, not the food.
