The 25 Best Restaurants In San Sebastián - San Sebastián - The Infatuation

"Yes, Muka overlooks the Urumea river and the city’s beautiful Belle Epoque architecture—but more importantly, it has our favorite seasonal menu and wine list. The two chefs who run the place came from top kitchens like Mugaritz and are olive oil producers and natural wine fanatics. Their menu reflects their produce-worshiping bona fides. The grill threads through the menu, kissing baby leeks and octopus with smoky flavor. Expect a less-is-more approach in the form of deceptively simple dishes like anchovies in an emulsified lemon garum or paper-thin crystal peppers." - marti buckley

"This restaurant, featuring a Nordic-inspired design, pleasant terrace, views of the mouth of the Urumea river and the hallmark of chef Andoni Luis Aduriz, is part of the ever-busy Karsaal congress centre. Relaxed, unpretentious cuisine in which grilled vegetables take centre stage. Choose between the à la carte, a tasting menu and a choice of daily specials." - Michelin Inspector

What a nice surprise! Recently there have been some negative reviews but once we walked by this place we decided to give it a try anyway and we were not disappointed at all. Yes, the portions might not be biggest but the food is really good, a light & modern interpretation of Basque cuisine. Also, the staff was very welcoming and friendly, nothing to complain about. We’re glad to have chosen Muka.

The food was excellent throughout, almost every dish was supremely flavorful. The service was great and helpful. Me and my partner were sitting at the chefs counter by the action for lunch and it was lovely, at 1pm we were some of the only people in the restaurant and got almost exclusive service. We got the wine pairing and it was okay, 4 glasses for an additional 28 euro each. The menu itself was great and was 65 per person. The desert was super good. Wonderful finish to the meal

This was my third lunch at Muka in 4 years. I noticed that the portions have gotten smaller but the quality of the food is still good. Another puzzling aspect of price versus portion size was this : The white Tuna dish (maybe 150 grams) was 25 Euros compared to the White Tuna belly (1kg for 70 Euros - I got a 500 gram piece for 35 Euros) and this made no sense to me. So, the belly, a much superior piece of the fish, was a much better deal by portion size! The mussels that we ordered as a starter were also a rather small portion of rather small mussels. Prices might not have gone up, but the portions are certainly getting smaller. We had a nice bottle of white wine ... which was a bit warm, but an ice bucket helped.

Simple but tasty food with great ingredients. Good paring with regional wines. I was expecting more attention during the service, changing cutlery, poor water and more explanation of the dishes.

In-cre-di-ble! Food was sublime, bread was delicious and monkfish was next level. Very friendly service who spoke amazing English/ French and Spanish. Great wine list too. Foodie paradise

Food was great, atmosphere and service was impersonal. Price was ok value - maybe a few more smiles and attention to customers would make for a more enjoyable experience.

Nice modern restaurant with ocean view - nicely composed tasting menu for incredible money (65EUR) - i would maybe left out summer truffle from potato salad (not much added value tastewise, effect is nice but maybe but wasting ;) tomato was tasting too strong compared with truffle but still perfect dish) - but from service to atmosphere - perfect - willing to return ❤️
