Mutra - Review - North Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"Mutra is a Kosher restaurant in North Miami with a menu inspired by regional Levantine cuisine. The menu includes things like chicken liver pâté, lamb kebabs, falafel, and shishbarak. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Mariana Trabanino

The Best Kosher Restaurants in Miami | Eater Miami

"Named for chef-owner Raz Shabtai’s beloved grandmother and culinary muse, this quiet North Miami newcomer builds riffs on the flavors Shabtai was raised on in his native Jerusalem. The menu is both playful and creative, down to the whimsical names — think: A Fisherman and a Farmer Walk Into the Kitchen (hamachi sashimi), Chicken Liver Dreaming to Become Foie Gras, and Eat The Mountain (crispy skin chicken breast, baby corn, purple cauliflower, corn polenta, broccolini, spinach, with sumac and wild mushroom jus)." - Alona Martinez

Mutra is a very nice family owned, exotic, Kosher meat restaurant. They had amazing presentation, amazing service, and amazing chefs. All of the flavors were very unusual and unique. See pictures below for the delicacy we experienced.

An unforgettable experience! The moment we walked into the restaurant, we were impressed by the beautiful design and warm atmosphere. The service was outstanding, friendly, professional, and genuinely passionate about the food. The staff gave us excellent recommendations, and every dish was a burst of authentic Israeli flavors that truly sparked in our mouths. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. We had such a great time and left already planning our next visit. Highly, highly recommended!

This was the most spectacular restaurant I have been to in Miami since moving here several years ago. Honestly, between the food quality, concept, presentation and service, I feel as if they should have a Michelin star. The owner, Raz, makes it his mission to stop and get to know each one if his guests, it’s truly beautiful. We will be back!

Best dining experience. Chef Raz and his entire staff were extremely attentive. We sat at the chefs bar which added to the experience. This is not your run of the mill place, was fine dining. Highly recommended.

Great place, ull taste herbs and combinations that you never had before. Wish they had cocktails, but they do have wines. The staff was very friendly and the concept of seeing how ur food is being prepared is very cool.

Absolutely loved Mutra. The staff could not have been friendlier or more knowledgeable, and every dish was incredible, creative, fresh, and beautifully plated. It is rare to find a place where the service and food both reach this level. I cannot wait to go back.

This meal changed the way I feel about food altogether. This was a living, breathing expression of beauty, culture, precision, and love — plated. You could taste the care, the history, the pride. The food wasn’t just delicious; it was transporting. I sat there genuinely in awe. Chef Raz? A genius!! Every plate felt like it was crafted just for me. Like he knew exactly what I didn’t even know I was craving. Every little detail in the design, the service, the rhythm of the night… it was superb. There is elegance in this place. Not the kind you see in overpriced fine dining rooms. The rare kind — the kind that comes from true talented individuals. I walked in hungry. I walked out grateful. Thank you Chef Raz and all the talented minds that created this gem.

Dining at Mutra felt like stepping into my grandmother’s home—if my grandmother happened to be a world-class chef. From the moment we walked in, the space radiated warmth, care, and intention. The ambiance is immaculate—elegant yet comforting, with an atmosphere that invites you to relax, connect, and savor. But the real magic begins with the food. Without exaggeration, this was some of the best kosher cuisine I’ve ever had. Each dish was layered with flavor, memory, and heart. You could tell that every bite was crafted with purpose. Chef Raz, both the owner and mastermind behind the menu, is an absolute gem. Not only is he wildly talented, but he also took the time to come out, explain the dishes, and share his passion with us. He’s the kind of person who makes you feel like family from the very first hello. Mike and Jules were equally outstanding—attentive, kind, and incredibly professional. Every detail, down to the shape of the wine glasses and the texture of the cups, felt thought through and deliberate. This wasn’t just a dinner—it was an experience. A soulful, flavorful, memorable experience. Mutra is a gift to the kosher culinary world and to Miami at large. I can’t wait to return.

Yelp
Every single dish is an explosion of flavor and exotic spices. Ingredients couldn't be any fresher, with vegetables picked from the farm the same day, fish caught hours before it is served. Dishes are not your typical Israeli cuisine, but a fusion of middle eastern flavors, yet simply made with lots of lemon, and salt. The chef, Raz, uses only the freshest and best ingredients--and that is what makes this restaurant the absolute best. You can see Chef Raz takes pride in his food, and you'll find him behind the seated counter with his hands on every dish, making sure each plate is seasoned just right. Truly the best dining experience--food and ambiance were amazing! Very fun vibe in the restaurant, great music...feels like you're in Tel Aviv. Sit at the counter!

Yelp
Simply put, this is one of the most important restaurants in South Florida right now. Unique dishes, high quality ingredients, love. For my foodie friends, this place evokes my fondest experiences in California, Israel, and London. Better than Nopi in my opinion and right here in our backyard. Its full-on Mediterranean/Middle Eastern so if you like those flavors, this is the place. Service was outstanding. Mike our server was more like a family member hosting us. Chef Raz visited our table and his story and accomplishments were heart warming. Mutra is Kosher. Ive never had Kosher like this. This is a foodies heaven. Yes - Kosher restaurants are pricier, but so are Michelin dinners. When its this good, I am happy to pay a premium.

Yelp
Perfect Mother's Day dinner! The food was fantastic! Our waiter , Jules, was exceptional and helped us choose from the menu. We had an icy cold Sauvignon Blanc, lamb and chicken. Amazing sauces. So interesting to eat at the bar and watch all the happenings in the kitchen. We will definitely return soon.

Yelp
Do not dine here! They put nothing on the table complimentary before you receive your food and the bread is $30. Upon receiving our main, no one liked their food and we are party of 8. Totally overpriced and totally terrible. They put 5 spice on everything. Total disappointment. Do not bother and their prices are inflated.
