"With granite tabletops and Edison lightbulbs, this dumpling spot on West 3rd Street looks a bit more like a Miami hotel lobby than a dumpling restaurant. The food here is playful - there are cheeseburger dumplings and reuben egg rolls. We’re more into the traditional stuff, like shrimp har gow, but the ahi tuna egg rolls are solid too." - Brett Keating

"My Little Dumpling comes by way of the Mandler family. The father Robert Mandler famously founded the Chin Chin franchise back in the 1980s, and now son Anthony is on to help out with this new-look restaurant near the Beverly Center. The space was for years the Italian mainstay Gusto, but now has been completely overhauled with deep green banquettes, brass fixtures, and other classic touches. There’s a bar for beer and wine as well, though the ABC license is still in the works. As for the menu, My Little Dumpling takes a little bit from a lot of places. There are pork potstickers, soup dumplings, and har gow in sweet pea broth, along with a braised brisket bao, glazed short ribs, and fried chicken with apricot sauce. LA staples like Chinese chicken salad and ahi tuna egg rolls play more from the staple Chin Chin menu, while cheeseburger dumplings with lychee ketchup and cream cheese wontons with lox are something new entirely. My Little Dumpling opens today at 11 a.m., keeping daily hours from lunch through 11 p.m. or midnight on Friday and Saturday." - Farley Elliott

"West Third Street’s former Gusto space is being put to good use thanks to one very famous restaurant name, reopening later this year as an upscale casual spot called My Little Dumpling." - Farley Elliott

My Little Dumpling is a delicious addition to Los Angeles. The space itself is warm, welcoming and beautiful. The dumplings are not traditional, and that’s a good thing as you get some fantastic fusions. The menu highlights are the French Onion Soup dumplings, the Impossible Burger dumplings, the vegetable egg roll and the chicken dumplings. The French Onion Soup dumplings are rich and delicious. The chicken dumplings are in a delicate and aromatic broth of ginger and lemongrass. The veggie egg rolls are massive - seriously huge. The crisp vegetables are cooked in a mild yellow curry. It’s a hybrid of an egg roll and samosa. The service was top notch too. I can’t wait to see what they cook up next.

My Little Dumpling deserves five stars for friendly service, creative menu, light sauces, warm/cute decor, and delicious food. We ordered the Chilean Sea Bass Har Gow (from the specials menu) [tasted like a delicious dumpling bt not a true hat gow], Chicken in lemongrass [delicate], Ahi tuna egg rolls [crunchy perfection], and Caramel Brussel sprouts [yummy]

I really liked the sauce that comes with the dumplings! The service is amazing. The glass containers for soy sauce and chilli sauce on the table may look pretty but I don’t think they are easy to use.

If I could give this place less than one star, I would. The food is sub-optimal. The dumplings are thick and bland. The rolls lack salt and an overall presence of flavour. The menu is all over the place and has absolutely no cohesion. The service was just the worst. The staff takes ages to acknowledge you and even when they do, they make you feel like they're doing you a favour. Not to mention, it is incredibly overpriced. If you like to spend your money on good food, it's not the place for you. I'd rather eat frozen lean cuisine.

One of the worst meals I've ever had. Seemed like the kitchen staff was ready to walk out multiple times, and they had run out of over a dozen things off of the already small menu. Took over an hour to get the food and was informed they were out of one of the dishes. The staff was great and I really hope they leave to find a better work environment. I 10/10 would never return

Interesting concept. Food was a little bland, but then again, I didn't order the dumplings (fried chicken was tender and crispy but underseasoned, purple yam pancake was more like a round mashed potato patty but tasted fine). The concept is so creative and unique that I will definitely come back to try some dumplings. Honestly, the menu is more interesting than Din Tai Fung.

Food is delicious, innovative, fresh. Great place to try and share small plate items. Every dish we had was great, with the shrimp har gow in sweet pea broth and the braised brisket bao as true standouts. Welcoming, friendly, helpful staff. Space is classic but contemporary - very nice.
