Antwan and Lorraine will cook a number of Southern favorites for Marcus Bar & Grille patrons, including fried chicken, fried fish, mac and cheese, red rice, collard greens, cabbage, and My Three Sons’ famous seafood rice. This soul food gem completely blew me away! The food was absolutely delicious—every bite was packed with rich, comforting flavors that tasted just like a home-cooked meal. The fried whiting was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and the collard greens were seasoned to perfection. The mac and cheese was creamy and indulgent. The atmosphere was welcoming, with friendly staff who made sure I felt right at home. Portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable for the quality. If you're craving authentic, flavorful soul food, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The food is delicious. The ribs were falling off the bone. The cornbread was slightly sweet. The okra soup was to die for. I will 100% be going back for more. It's the home cooking you wish your momma could do 😭😂

Felt like I was back in my grandma kitchen eating here!! EVERYTHING was delicious. Ordered Fried Chicken, Smothered Pork chops, rice, baked mac and cabbage. The customer service is amazing really warm and inviting. I definitely would recommend stopping by for some good home cooked food with no fuss!

Google
Stopped here as soon as we landed in Charleston and this was a good choice. This place is less than 3 miles from the airport. The service was great! The ladies behind the counter did a good job in getting our orders. Nice presentation of the food and so many veggies to choose from. I had the fried fish with greens, cabbage, and Yams and I enjoyed it. I was expecting catfish since I’m from Arkansas but was pleasantly surprised with Cod fish. The fish was seasoned just right and was fresh. The greens, yams, and cabbage were good also. My wife had the the chicken and waffles which she enjoyed. It didn’t take us long to get our food and we sat in the dining room. Overall, this place got our trip off to a great start and I highly recommend it.

Google
The food here is very delicious 😋 If your looking for some good tasting southern cuisine while you're in the Charleston area, this is definitely the spot. It's not a fancy spot but who needs fancy when the food is so good. We met a few of the family members and everyone was so kind and friendly. This restaurant was one of the best parts of my weekend getaway. Thanks family!

Google
Great soul food. Fried catfish was delicious. Cabbage, yams, butterbeans, Cornbread okra and tomatoes were all to die for.

Google
I did a google search for restaurants nearby and came across this gem. I got the hot bar, one meat and three sides!!! You get a lot of food for what you pay for and the ribs and dirty rice were bussin! This is my first time eating here but I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Great place for seafood While there is a huge selection to choose from, the wife and I came here specifically for the seafood, and we could not have been happier. But first a little about this place. It resides in a purple-painted building just off Dorchester, at what looks like a previous fast foot join like maybe a Hardees or burger king. Although you can't really see it from the road, there is plenty of parking along the side of the building. Inside as I said, looks like a previous fast-food burger joint. There is a ton of food to choose from, including pre-prepared options served from behind the counter, or other items (like the seafood), freshly cooked from the kitchen. The wife and I both had and enjoyed the She Crab Soup which was loaded with crab meat. As you can see from the picture I uploaded, the base is a bit darker than most She Crab Soup, but that is probably why there is so much depth and layers built into this dish. The soup is rich and thick, and a bowl could easily make a meal by itself. The wife ordered the Pick 2 seafood dinner of Fried Oysters and Sea Scallops. For her sides, she got collards and mac-and-cheese. I also had come for the Pick 2 seafood dinner but ended up with the seafood platter, which included devil crab, Whiting Fillet, as well as Fried Oysters, Shrimp, and sea scallops. My sides were red rice and collards. The whiting was a very large fillet and was fried nicely in a light batter The oysters, shrimp, and scallops were also fried perfectly but the batter seemed even lighter than the whiting. All three were amazing. The devil crab was easily the largest I had ever seen (see pictures), and was placed in a fake tin crab shell. I don't think the tin shell altered the dish that much, as I was unaware it was not a real shell until I was almost done with the dish. My platter was served with an amazing remoulade sauce. However the seafood was so good, I did not use it as I did not want to cover up the amazing flavors of the dinner. The red rice with chunks of smoked sausage (maybe), did not disappoint. And the collards had a slight sweet heat which we both Loved. The Cornbread slathered with butter did not disappoint either. The only thing that was not up to par was the mac-and-cheese, which was too dry, with an odd cheese flavor. While our meal was great, the next time we come, we will probably check out the prepared non-seafood items like chicken, porkchop, ox tail, and other items. The last thing of note, the service was great and the restaurant was comfortable

Yelp
My Three Sons is your typical southern food. They offer a variety of meats, sides, and desserts. I ordered lemon pepper wings, Mac and cheese, and candied yams. The wings are cooked when ordered so I loved the freshness (everything else is sitting at the front, ready to be served). The wings were tasty as well! The Mac and cheese was good but nothing special. The candied yams though?? Deeeelicious!! I wanted more lol. I also ordered an apple pie and it was good. I think it's homemade? It def tasted homemade and that's a taste I love. I was sad that they didn't have any peach cobbler and ran out of sweet potato pie. If it's anything like the apple pie, know it's a delight! Customer service was great! Very friendly staff there. I was honored to meet one of the three brothers during my visit. I love supporting black owned businesses and I love it even more when the food is good. I would come here again, but I'd call to make sure the peach cobbler was in stock first :).

Yelp
Amazing food , excellent service All of the food was delicious but the pork chop was phenomenal

Yelp
One of our favorite meals while in Charleston, a city full of great food. Don't be afraid to leave the historic center to eat some real Gullah soul food. It's a plate lunch where you choose your meat and your sides. We went with the stewed oxtails and smothered turkey wing. The meat was so tender and fell off the bone. Everything was so flavorful and the sides were just as good too. Collard greens, mac'n cheese, and the okra all amazing. That could've been the best okra I've ever had. Don't leave town without trying this!

Yelp
Located in the inner city of North Charleston, hold a hidden gem that serves good southern comfort food like grandma use to make on those special occasions but My Three Sons offers a variety of delicious delight from crispy fried chicken, slow cooked smothered turkey wings to fresh fried fish plates to order. At first glance the exterior may opt you to second guess your decision to commit and try their delight but I express with the warm welcome customer service of the staff to treat yourself to a slow quality meal. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone visiting the area who appreciates this style of service and food.

Yelp
My Three Sons is a GEM. It's colorfully decorated in purple and gold, and gives a homey vibe. We had buffet style - fried fish and chicken, baked chicken, greens, red rice and seafood veggie rice, cornbread - and EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS! For dessert there were chocolate and carrot cakes, peach cobbler and bread pudding. No complaints from anyone in the group. The owner and his mom took really good care of us! We're already planning to visit Charleston again and will DEFINITEY be stopping to eat there!

Yelp
When you go to my here it's gonna be hard to choose what you want because everything sounds so good. I honestly love seafood so it's usually my go to whenever I get there to order the Seafood Rice. This time I decided to switch it up. I ordered the Gullah Rice and chicken wings this my first time having the both of these. The rice is filled with tilapia sausage and shrimp and it was delicious. It's seasoned so well. They also have the seafood rice that has shrimp scallop and crab meat and that is good as well. I'm over here thinking to myself well maybe I can call and order and just have them put all of it inside one pot and make me the Ultimate Gullah Seafood Rice! The chicken wings were big juicy and were well seasoned as well. Definitely check them out to get your soul food fix!

Yelp
I honestly love this place too much almost didn't want to share it. This mom and pop joint on Dorchester rd(near Montague) is a true hidden gem. They are located in this small purple building next to Money pawn, you have to look carefully it can be easily missed. It's a deli set up, you look at food and order what you want. They have other items that's not displayed but it takes longer to get the food. The most thing I like about them? A true home cooked food just like from your grandma.(Well, an awesome cooking grandma lol) and they give you such a big portion but it's only $11 for a choice of meat, a choice of rice, 2 other sides and a piece corn bread. Even if you add their awesome Apple pie or Peach cobbler, it's still $17 including tax. They have some specials daily, Oxtails on Thursday(it's higher price but so worth it. If you want it cheaper you can skip sides and just get Oxtail + white rice) and on Friday they have Red rice I believe (other days are usually Chicken rice, Hoppin John and white rice) My favorite is Baked Turkey wings, cabbages Mac & cheese with hoppin John but I haven't had much that I didn't like. Smothered pork chops.. fried chicken.. meatloaf.. BBQ ribs.. all were great. Sides, seriously ALL GOOD. The only menu I didn't like was Seafood salad, it had a sour taste like it's old. Maybe I got a bad batch but other food were so good so I let it slide lol Since it's a deli set up, it's the best to go before 1:30pm(They close at 4pm) The ladies in the front are so nice, makes you feel like you are family. Everybody is so well mannered and friendly, even customers. If you want some great home cooked food that want to wash down with some Arnold Palmer, feeling good that you want to lay down for a nap lol AND will have some leftovers for later on, I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Heard about the restaurant through yelp and wanted to check it out. You can order by phone or online, but it was close to my work so I decided to just stop in. The most of the food was on display, but I decided to go with the seafood rice, chicken sandwich, wings, sweet tea, and at the recommendation of the staff, the carrot cake. I went with the bourbon and hot flavored wings. Both had good flavor. The chicken sandwich and carrot cake were excellent. The sandwich comes with honey mustard, but I added a little buffalo sauce to take it up a notch. The carrot cake was a nice treat to finish off the meal. If you're looking for traditional sweet tea, this is it! I showed up at 3:30 and they got very busy around closing so would recommend showing up earlier. Only open for lunch

Yelp
Decent spot with a nice back story.. family ran restaurant with solid meal choices. Great chewies and lemonade! I would say check it out.

Yelp
My experience at My 3 Sons with my wife Cheryl and cousins was a memorable one. The food along with the atmosphere was outstanding. The service was exceptional. We were in town from Charlotte, NC. celebrating my birthday. If good Soulfood is what you're searching for My 3 Sons is the go to spot.

Daniela Z.

Yelp
If you want some local fresh food this is the spot! I came here with a couple of coworkers and it was so hard to decide what I wanted. I got the red rice, lima beans, meatloaf, and fried fish. They have cafeteria style food that they serve on the spot but they also have an entire menu you can order from that they also cook fresh there. Don't forget to try their sweet potato pie!

Zack Z.

Yelp
This was good soul food and generally good service. Warm welcome and friendly staff made the experience more pleasant, however they could have taken all the chairs off of the table when they opened and cleaned up overflowing office supplies.

Yelp

The food waa good and remind me of my grandma .. you can most definitely feel the family love as soon as you walk in ..and you can tell the food was made out of love as well . i Will Most definitely be back to see y'all !! Thank you ..

Yelp
Glad they are back open in new location. Only accepting orders over phone and I picked up thru drive thru. I asked when they thought they'd open up in dining and they said maybe a month. I normally don't like to go food but it traveled well. Flavor was great just as I remembered. Looking forward to them open dining room.

Bionca W.

Yelp
This was my first time trying this place (I'm a little embarrassed to admit as I am not too far from this restaurant ) I usually just drive by but, all I can say is I wish I had stopped by sooner because the food is amazing. The flavor is there and the hospitality and price for the quantity of food is incomparable. I ordered a good portion of food starting with the smothered chop which is fried and drenched in a savory gravy then a turkey wing, which I normally don't opt to eat, that fell right off the bone. I got the large side of macaroni and wing appetizer which was good as well crunchy on the outside juicy and tender on the inside. Followed by a large banana pudding and a real southern SWEET tea. Everything I tried was amazing and I'll be back to try the she crab soup.

Yelp
On a recent bus tour by Wages Travel of Prince George's County, MD -- I visited this restaurant with about 55 other people. I had been there once before and 5 stars. The Ambiance was definitely there and the food prepared for a large group was good. Service was the best that could be with a large group. I met a young man -- Messiah, son of the original brothers who not leaves with his uncle due to his father being in heaven. Messiah watch for some books arriving and purchased in Charleston before I left for you and your baby brother. Remember what the lady with silver hair said -- practice reading everyday for you and to your baby brother. Peace and blessings to all who work for this down home restaurant. Ms. Ginny Beauchamp

Yelp
Good and hot food. Not to expenive but gave you plenty for two people. Great in general.

Qiana H.

Yelp
The store is still not open in the inside. Visiting during COVID times 2 weeks ago. You can place your order via pick up. The only problem is they run out of items so you have to order earlier during the day. Most the items I wanted was clearly sold out and not available. You need to get your items through the drive through once you arrive. It was a rainy day and it was confusion on where to pick up.

Susan F.

Yelp
The food is amazing. Great portions. Not pricey. Tasty seafood. Perfectly cooked rice. Friendly staff. Highly recommend!!

Trinity B.

Yelp
Great food! Nothing on the menu will disappoint, but strongly recommend the catfish and collard greens!

Yelp
I'm so glad I made that U turn!!! My hubby and I were leaving the Charleston AirBase and rode past a uniquely painted building (purple & gold) with several cars in the parking lot...keep in mind we're visiting from Florida and don't really know much about the Charleston area but I knew something good had to be going on inside of that purple and gold building and I'm here to tell you I was right!!! Errthang and I do mean Errthang purchased was delish! We had the fried chicken dinner (White Meat), Baked Turkey Wing dinner. All the sides were on point, red rice (Jollof) was delish, yams, Mac, Limas, cabbage, collards, and cornbread all yummy. I also ordered a small side of Gullah rice and it was banging too. I think I've said a mouth full already, but if you live near here and haven't tried this Black Owned establishment, shame on it all!!! If you're visiting the area and reading this review go try this place out. My 3 Sons don't owe me nothing...don't go asking me bout no pictures either just go and get you a plate and see for yourself
