Yelp
Great place for seafood
While there is a huge selection to choose from, the wife and I came here specifically for the seafood, and we could not have been happier. But first a little about this place.
It resides in a purple-painted building just off Dorchester, at what looks like a previous fast foot join like maybe a Hardees or burger king. Although you can't really see it from the road, there is plenty of parking along the side of the building. Inside as I said, looks like a previous fast-food burger joint.
There is a ton of food to choose from, including pre-prepared options served from behind the counter, or other items (like the seafood), freshly cooked from the kitchen.
The wife and I both had and enjoyed the She Crab Soup which was loaded with crab meat. As you can see from the picture I uploaded, the base is a bit darker than most She Crab Soup, but that is probably why there is so much depth and layers built into this dish. The soup is rich and thick, and a bowl could easily make a meal by itself.
The wife ordered the Pick 2 seafood dinner of Fried Oysters and Sea Scallops. For her sides, she got collards and mac-and-cheese.
I also had come for the Pick 2 seafood dinner but ended up with the seafood platter, which included devil crab, Whiting Fillet, as well as Fried Oysters, Shrimp, and sea scallops. My sides were red rice and collards.
The whiting was a very large fillet and was fried nicely in a light batter
The oysters, shrimp, and scallops were also fried perfectly but the batter seemed even lighter than the whiting. All three were amazing.
The devil crab was easily the largest I had ever seen (see pictures), and was placed in a fake tin crab shell. I don't think the tin shell altered the dish that much, as I was unaware it was not a real shell until I was almost done with the dish.
My platter was served with an amazing remoulade sauce. However the seafood was so good, I did not use it as I did not want to cover up the amazing flavors of the dinner.
The red rice with chunks of smoked sausage (maybe), did not disappoint. And the collards had a slight sweet heat which we both Loved.
The Cornbread slathered with butter did not disappoint either.
The only thing that was not up to par was the mac-and-cheese, which was too dry, with an odd cheese flavor.
While our meal was great, the next time we come, we will probably check out the prepared non-seafood items like chicken, porkchop, ox tail, and other items.
The last thing of note, the service was great and the restaurant was comfortable
