The 18 Best Korean Restaurants In SF - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Sliding into a booth to give yourself a soondubu steam facial is always the move at this Richmond restaurant. Like the name suggests, My Tofu House is bean curd paradise. Their menu is centered around soft tofu soups packed with silky tofu, plus meats and vegetables. They’re bright red stunners, rich with umami and spice. We also like rolling up to this low-key spot to dive into the barbecued meats and bibimbap. The bulgogi is caramelized on the edges, and the galbi is charred within an inch of its life in the best way. The fact that rice is scooped out of a big stone pot tableside and the banchan is refilled faster than you can blink ensures you won’t ever want to leave." - julia chen 1, lani conway, ricky rodriguez, patrick wong

The 25 Best Restaurants In The Richmond - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"My Tofu House is bean curd paradise. The low-key BYOB Korean spot has nine different versions of it with fillings ranging from dumplings and kimchi to pork and mushrooms. Each one is loaded with tofu that’s velvety and melts in your mouth. The homey touches of this spot also keep us coming back. You’re never rushed out of here, for one, and servers scoop fresh rice out of a stone pot tableside. The barbecue is also fantastic, especially the slightly sweet bulgogi and kal bi." - julia chen 1, lani conway, ricky rodriguez

My Tofu House Review - Richmond - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"My Tofu House is bean curd paradise. While this Korean restaurant in the Richmond may not exactly be our idyllic dream mansion where soy milk flows from the faucets and all of the furniture is made out of velvety tofu blocks, it’s the better thing. Ask us where to go for soft tofu soup in a relaxed space we never want to leave, and it’ll always be My Tofu House. The headliner of any meal at a place with “tofu” in the name should obviously be the soft tofu soup. There are nine options, and all are loaded with hefty amounts of silky smooth tofu. Each one arrives bubbling and packed with meats, dumplings, or vegetables—slurping one down should be a physician-recommended form of self-care. If for some ungodly reason you’re not in the mood for soondubu, the barbecued meats are also worth your time. They don’t skimp on the portions, and the steaming platters of kal bi and daeji bulgoki are flavorful and slightly sweet. photo credit: Melissa Zink photo credit: Melissa Zink Extra homey touches set this walk-in only restaurant apart from other casual Korean spots in town. You’re never rushed out of your table. Rice is scooped tableside for you out of a stone pot, and refills of crispy fried fish and other banchan are on hand. It’s also BYOB (they don’t have an alcohol menu), so show up with your personal corner store haul when you want to get sake drunk on birthdays or chilly Friday nights. We could come here multiple times a week and never get tired. So until that tofu mansion materializes, you know where to find us. Food Rundown photo credit: Melissa Zink Original Soft Tofu You’re at My Tofu House, so the titular dish should 100% be on the table. There are nine different versions—but the one to get on your must-eat radar is this original with thinly sliced pork and a generous amount of silky tofu. photo credit: Melissa Zink Kal Bi Sweet marinade, a great char, and meat that pulls off the bone with ease: all trademarks of a fantastic kal bi. Ordering this is another foolproof path to success. photo credit: Melissa Zink Daeji Bulgoki The spicy pork is a show-stopping act that arrives sizzling and crispy on the edges. The meat is well-seasoned without being overwhelmed by spice. photo credit: Melissa Zink Pork & Vegetable Bibimbab This is a great light reprieve from the richer meat dishes—the stone bowl is loaded with bean sprouts, cucumber, mushrooms, and carrots. The rice is nice and crispy on the edges." - Julia Chen

Google
This place has a special place in my heart. Just classic soon tofu and what I like most is that they do the nunungi, not sure how to spell that. But it’s a good spot. It feels like home if that makes sense. I’m definitely bias because I’ve been coming here for all my life but I just love this place. It definitely is not the best Korean food or the best soon tofu or anything spectacular but you know what you’re going to get and I like what I am going to get. My Beli gave it a 7.5, I think it’s more like a 8.5 because I’d prefer this place over so many others even if they are more expensive or fancy. This is definitely an experience and nostalgic place for me.

Google
The staff were exceptional! But the food was pretty bland/not exceptional, which is really disappointing! I really wanted to like this place, having heard great things about it and loving soondubu. But the food was really bland. (Honestly have had much, much better at other places) I ordered the combination soondubu (beef+seafood) at medium spiciness. It wasn't spicy at all and the stew had no flavor other than the clams from the seafood. The same applies to the banchan: also pretty bland. The portions were generous though, and the service was great! I'd be willing to come again to support the staff, but I wouldn't get the soondubu.

Juriy

Google
Very underwhelming experience. Banchan selection was basic and I couldn’t taste any flavor in any of it. Kimchi needed more sweetness. Soondubu was the best dish but I would still rate it as 3/5. Seafood pancake could have been significantly better if they salted it (no, dipping it in soy sauce is not the same). Price is quite high for the quality of food. No alcohol served here.

Imma start this one like this. It’s a foggy night in San Francisco. Sound about right? You just crossed the Golden Gate Bridge for who knows what reason. Maybe you were at a wedding in Marin? Maybe you took a trip to the beach because you needed to get away from it all? Maybe you don’t even have a reason. But you’re here for the first time in years. She is magical and majestic at the hour of 7:30 pm. You drive on by and enter the city. The sun blinks her last words. It’s dark now and you hungry af. You want something. No. You need something. Something low and deep that will make you grumble with soul afterwards. You need that something, that meal that will remind you just how thankful you are to be alive, that food that will tell you to take care. You need My Tofu House.

Google
The best Korean restaurant in the city, tofu house. We usually come here about 3 to 4 times a year. The tofu dumplings soup is my family favorite. Three of us this time, ordered Kim chi soup, Ramon noodles and dumplings, all mild. Also had short ribs m, very very good and veggi pancakes. Ordered too much food so had left over for next day lunch. Dumplings tofu soup is must have Usually has a line, waited about 30mins but worth it. The service is red carpet. They focus one customer at a time. Very good service !!!!

Google
Love this place! We’ve been going for 8 years and can’t recommend it enough. Their babchan is extremely generous and they offer a small/medium sized fish as part of their banchan! The banchan includes yummy cucumbers, tofu, kimchi, and bean sprouts. They consistently refill them! They also provide tea and rice for free as part of the tofu soup order. Would highly recommend the fish egg tofu soup at medium spice. (They also have bibimbap and scallion pancake)

Jackie Truong

Google
Vegan tofu soup options, vegan option for the vegetable pancake (no egg), and bibimbap. All delicious! Although the broth needs more flavor and seasoning if they can replace the fish sauce / meat seasoning. Friendly service, but very busy and a bit slower during dinner hours. We came around 7 and got in without a wait but quickly had a line between 7:30-8:30pm

Google
Tasty Korean food and a lot of it. The side dishes are lovely and they gave each of us a yellow croaker (fish) which is nice. Tofu soup is comforting and salty. The dolsot bibimbap is great when you get crispy rice (don’t stir the outside for ten minutes). The only weird item is the seafood pajeon, which is VERY thick. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but is not really what I expected. Staff was friendly to us and accommodated the children that were with us.

Yelp
The service was amazing. They were super attentive even though it was busy. Of course, I had to try their combo tofu soup with beef and seafood. It did not disappoint! The side dishes that came with it were delicious, and the whole meal with rice and soup together felt so comforting and heartwarming. A solid go-to if you're craving something cozy and satisfying. :)

Yelp
June gloom is officially here in SF and so is soup season (which I suppose has never actually ended)! Korean food is still very untapped for me because I have such a mental barrier that it's just not good in the city, but I'm trying to turn over a new leaf. Luckily My Tofu House was a great foray back into things! To start, the banchan was fresh and plentiful (however, they either ran out of the little fried fish or stopped incljding it, sadly). I then had the combination soft tofu (mild was a bit too mild but luckily you can add more spice/jalapeños to taste later) which was hearty and full of beef, shrimp, and clam. It came with rice from a large stone pot that they fill with hot broth so that you end the meal with a cleansing nurungji (scorched rice) soup. I'd come back! Appreciated the friendly and attentive servers as well, and the relaxed late night (for SF standards I mean) atmosphere.

Yelp
Such an underrated and homey restaurant!! The soondubu is served piping hot and the portions are extremely generous. It is truly the perfect comfort meal for any day. The banchan are delicious too- you don't typically see fried fish being offered elsewhere! I believe they do free banchan refills, but we were too stuffed to ask for more. I also love that they scoop your rice at the table and pour barley tea into the stone pot to create sungnyung for you to enjoy at the end of your meal. They don't have a ton of people working, but service is still extremely attentive and speedy!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing service! Our go to spot for tofu stew. Our tea was never empty or even low and we got banchan refills unprompted. You get a fried fish with each main order which is a delight to eat. On to the soup, it's savory, umami and well balanced. That is if you get the mild spice level. It's perfect for spooning into your mouth without getting that spicy burn at the end!

Yelp
This was a childhood spot for a friend who grew up here, and apparently it's a city institution! They have tofu soups and bibimbap, along with pancakes. The Cucumber banchan is AMAZING I ate sooo much of it. They are very generous with the sides and will refill them which I love. The free fried fish was a nice touch! I feel like the food itself wasn't amazing but hits the spot with a craving. Service was great!
google avatar

Yelp
I come here for Fish. Bad news now, they will not serve fried fish any more due to the cost. I totally get it but still not happy about it Food is ok. The crowded stated to come when we were there.

Yelp
Hands down my favorite Korean tofu soup restaurant in all of Bay Area, coming from a native Korean! I've been here a handful of times and they're consistent in quality and service. They can get pretty busy during peak meal hours though. Off of a main street- you might have difficulty finding street parking. Interior is decently spacious with several nice booths and tables. This is one of the only tofu soup places I've been to in NorCal that gives you the small grilled fish for everyone and serves rice out of the stone pot that they pour tea water over for the burnt rice soup at the end (iykyk) similar to BCD in SoCal. Their tofu soups are super flavorful and authentic. I always get the combination tofu soup with medium spice to every tofu soup place I go, and this place does it so well. You cannot miss this gem if you're looking for solid authentic home-cooked style Korean food in SF!

Yelp
Cozy local restaurant with great service - they were very on top of the banchan refills! The banchan was also delicious here including bonus fried fish. Classic tofu soup had perfect spice and great portions with the galbi (could be a bit more seasoned). The seafood pancake had good flavor but could be a bit more crispy.

Yelp
Spectacular find for Korean food in SF! A very cozy, comfortable restaurant with a clean wooden interior, and such lovely service. We came in for a later dinner and our server was very sweet and told us to stay however long we'd like to enjoy our meal. Had the beef tofu soup which came with mushroom, egg, and such large chunks of tofu. I got the medium spice level which was perfect for me. The meal was nicely accompanied with the complimentary side dishes which included fried fish! I also loved how we were given the pot the rice was cooked in which had a layer of crispy rice at the bottom. Most definitely will be back again!

Yelp
Delicious local joint! Came on a weekday with a party of 2 and there was no wait! Cozy joint with cute seating. Ordered two tofu soups which came with eggs and rice and a pancake and was very very full. Would come again!

Yelp
Service: Very fast and constantly attended to us with water or more side dishes. Food: Chicken bibimbap: 6/10. It was good in terms of ingredients and presentation but felt it lacked in flavor. I felt it could have been kore umami/salty.

Yelp

Yelp
You should eat here!! My friends and I came here for the first time and we gad a great experience. Wonderful food, thoughtful service and reasonable prices! There was plenty of seating on a sunny Sunday around 2pm. The restaurant is very clean and well kept. We ordered many dishes: vegetable pancake, chicken and vegetable bibimbab, vegetable soft tofu soup and the baked tofu and vegetable bibimbab. Everything was fantastic! My friend has an egg allergy and we asked if the pancake had egg. It did, and the waiter was incredibly gracious and packed up the pancake for us to go (for those with no allergy) and had the kitchen make us another pancake with no egg. We were so grateful for the hospitality! The waiter also came by mid-way to replace our empty side dishes, which was very much appreciated.

Yelp
A solid place for a Korean food fix. They consistently serve tasty entrees and side dishes and give good-sized portions. Some of my favorites are their variety of tofu soups, bulgogi, seafood pancakes, and banchan. My partner and I have never been disappointed when ordering takeout and will continue to be repeat customers for the foreseeable future!

Yelp
Love this place But will be greatly missing the fish. Went in the last 3 weeks to get fish and they are not serving it anymore :( Everyone that works there is super sweet and very attentive to your dining experience if it isn't so busy that the line is out the door. I hope you guys bring the fish back but I will unfortunately have to find a new spot to satiate my cravings

Yelp
Love this place! Came here with a friend on a Saturday evening. The wait was kind of long because a lot of tables weren't cleaned up, but it wasn't terribly long. The waiters were very prompt and helpful. Even though it was busy, they always refilled my barley tea and it was easy to get their attention. The banchan here was great -- they gave us two fried fish each! Even at BCD in SoCal they only give you one. There weren't a lot of dishes, but the ones they had were tasty (my favorite was the cucumbers). We both got the Beef Kimchi Soft Tofu Soup at the level Spicy and the Beef & Vegetable Bibimbab at the level Spicy. It was definitely plenty of food to go around, we took home quite a bit of leftovers! Beef Kimchi Soft Tofu Soup: 4/5, comes with an egg! Maybe a little thin for my taste but still good flavor. Spice level was alright, but I do have a decently high tolerance, so maybe for others it would be hotter. Beef & Vegetable Bibimbab: 5/5, so yummy! The rice that got crispy at the bottom was the best. Good amount of meat and veggies, and the sauce was not overly sweet. Overall, had a great time here. I liked sitting at the booth since it wasn't too loud and you could still hear the other person in conversation. They also have a bathroom in the back that's decent to use. Definitely would come back if I were in Richmond!

Yelp
Perfect on a dreary evening. This bustling restaurant has been around a long time. I haven't been since pre-pandemic, but it was just as I remembered. Quick, attentive and friendly service in this no frills spot that will fill your belly with great food. This time my friend and I shared a seafood pancake (the pancakes are HUGE). I had the beef soft tofu soup and he had the veggie bimbimbop. We were talking a catching up so I forgot food pics (apologies). Caution: you'll have to wait a good amount of time for your soup to cool down enough to not scald a trail all the way down to your stomach. Portions are very generous in addition to the yummy banchan. This is NOT a Korean BBQ spot, so know that if that's what you're looking for. You'll still leave with a smell of delicious food immeshed in your clothing.

Yelp
I love the cosy home like environment! The Korean food served here is very authentic with a lot of free sides. Only issue is prices can be a little higher than expected of Asian food in this area.

Yelp
stopped in on a wednesday night with some girlfriends to place a takeout order. there were a considerable amount of people there, we ordered 4 dishes and waited about 30 min for the food to be ready. there's an area inside to wait with a few chairs. all of our meals came with banchan (side dishes) and rice. I got the mushroom soft tofu soup and it was super good I really liked the flavors. I got medium spice but could have gotten it spicier, overall 8/10 for me. my friends all gave their dishes (beef kimchi soft tofu, vegetable soft tofu, dumpling soft tofu) a 9/10. will be going back to try their veggie bibimbap!
google avatar

Rose C.

Yelp
For 2 people, we got seafood tofu soup and combo pancake to split and it was more than enough. We had to take some food home because the portions were huge but all the food was amazing. The pancake was pretty thick, like a doughy version so it's filling. Would recommend getting the tofu soup and pancake!
google avatar

Yelp
AMAZING SERVICE!!! Our waiter was so so so sweet, funny, and attentive. My party of 6 came in on a Saturday night and they sat us immediately. We ordered: Dumpling Soft Tofu ($20.99), Pork & Vegetable Bibimbap ($23.99), and the Bulgoki ($38.99). For the food, I felt that it was very average Korean dishes and nothing was especially good. The meats were a bit rough and dry but I did enjoy the banchan especially when they brought out 7 fishes (usually, it's 1 fish per soup getter but they gave one to everyone + 1)! The tofu soup was not very flavorful and dumplings were mid. Overall, a very OK place. (i miss BCD from socal)
google avatar

Samantha L.

Yelp
Service: 15/10 -waitress was the best and cutest, taking pics with customers Food: 4/10 Dishes: best to worst 1. Baked Tofu & Vegetable Bibimbab: good but not the best 2. Vegetable Pancake: a little too thick 3. Mushroom tofu soup: absolutely skip this as it's bland *Free bonchon was the best, most flavorful part of the meal. Note that all tofu soups have fish sauce in it. Need to request vegetarian. Logistics: -street parking -accepts cc -limited indoor seating
google avatar

Lily H.

Yelp
Ironically the best thing at my tofu house is the Kalbi. Super tender giant plate of meat. The soondobu (tofu soup) lacks flavor or kick (even the kimchi one) so i wouldn't come here for that. The pajeons are thicker than usual but come out crispy and sizzling. Can't forget to mention the generous banchans & the stone rice bowls for white rice too. Be prepared to wait if you're not the first seating!
google avatar

Helena L.

Yelp
tldr spacious cute family run restaurant serving up korean classics with highlight being free banchan (side dishes) and decent tofu stew for a cold night in sf friend and i ordered a tofu stew each which came with a complementary stone pot rice, egg to crack in the stew, and a bunch of side dishes including two fried fishes for each person super authentic flavors with the banchan being the highlight with the most flavor versus the combination stew was more mild and had decent seafood/meat flavor but it wasn't the best i've had the place was packed on a sat night not surprisingly so service suffered a bit since only two waiters were serving all the customers but they were trying to keep up. The restaurant seems pretty old but well kept so had a home-y feeling overall would come back if i am craving a tofu stew! food 3.5/5 service 3.5/5 ambiance 3.5/5 value 3/5

Yelp
We found My Tofu House through Yelp on a busy Friday night and we were so glad that we were able to get seated quickly. After we ordered, the banchan was served. The banchan came with grilled fish which is not common but was really good! bibimbap: I ordered spicy and it was not too spicy which I confirmed with the waitress so it was just right. The flavor was great and the portion was huge! Seafood soft tofu: the flavor for the soup was also great and good size I think what really set this place apart was the service. The waitress was really nice and caring. My friend choked on the fish bones and she was worried and made sure he got extra water. It really felt like we were family and I rarely if ever get service like that from a restaurant Will definitely be back to My Tofu House!
google avatar

Valerie C.

Yelp
One of the best Korean tofu soup places in the SF peninsula! I was craving something soupy since it's still been cold in as spring is approaching. First of all, this place really loads up the side dishes that you don't have to ask for a refill! Ordered the spicy pork bibimbap (hot stone) and a beef tofu soup medium. The order comes with Crocker fishes like what they give you at BCD. Prices did increase here but the service is still amazing so 10/10 would come here again!
google avatar

Ron P.

Yelp
Was craving soft tofu soup and saw the great reviews for this place so had to stop by! I got the assorted tofu soup in spicy level and it was a clean healthy tasting tofu soup! Their banchans (side dishes) were also really good! Have not seen a tofu place that provides three fish per person hahaha. Anyways great tofu soup if you are craving it!

Yelp
One of my new go-to spots in the city! Have heard friends rave about this place and finally decided to try it. Love the booths that they have set up and they also had various NBA games playing which was fun to watch Sides were plentiful and fantastic. The fried fish was an absolute hit. Not only was it super crispy, but also the fish meat itself was flaky and the bones are swallow-able (have a general fear of choking on fish bones, so this was so pleasant). They even offer to refill the side dishes if you run out Got the Original soft tofu with beef which came in huge portions and super flavorful--not too salty which I normally find with a lot of tofu soups. Paired very well with the rice and was definitely stuffed afterwards. I felt like the many components in the soup (egg, beef, mushroom, etc) kept the dish exciting and complemented each other well. After you're done with the meal, they fill the rice bowl (with some leftover rice bits) with hot tea, and you drink it almost as a dessert. Super unique and have never tried that before! Ashley was such a gem and had such a cheery personality, always checking up on us and making sure our tea was filled. Price point is also quite reasonable given the amount of food given. Will be back many, many times :)
google avatar

Yelp
Great ambience and setting; the restaurant felt very warm and home-like. The staff were great with service. They gave us mackerel in lieu of no eggs. Finally, their tofu stew was great and definitely was a nice conclusion to a nice evening. Will be back!

Yelp
Place opens at 5 and they get pretty packed pretty fast so make sure you call ahead and ask what the wait is. The waitress was super nice and they were on top of everything with their service. You feel very catered to and never have to wonder where your waitress is at. We had soft tofu soups, the original and the seafood. The seafood soup was tasty but weirdly a bit creamy. It had about 4-5 shrimps and a good amount of clams so really loved that. We also got ramen added to the soup for just $1 and we are glad we did. The original of course was just beef and that was great! The soup was light but packed a punch of flavor. The medium spicy level was just perfect and not overpowering like other places I've been to. Also the banchan was all very fresh and had great flavor and they offer more once you finish them! I did have to take 1 start off because the pricing is a lot higher than other great tofu house in sf. $20+ per is a bit high for similar meals.

Yelp
Surprised to see a relatively low rating (3.8) for a place I thought was great. The baked tofu bibimbap was delicious. It comes with 4 large tofu pieces and an egg yolk in the middle. It's recommended to mix everything together before digging in! The pancake might sound ridiculously expensive (and i think it is still a little overpriced) but it is huge. We got the vegetable pancake which honestly tasted a bit like an omlette. Pretty yummy but not quite worth the price. Our server was friendly and funny, and the service in general was great. The place looks a bit old from the outside but on the inside it's quite nice with plenty of seating (lots of booths for group seating too).

Yelp
We ordered the Kalbi and Kimchi soft tofu soup. The vibe of the restaurant is very cute and authentic and I loved the banchan options. The menu also had all the classics at a reasonable price. My favorite part too was that they have barley tea as the default drink and service automatically soaked the clay pots in the tea once we emptied it. The kalbi was also solid and full of meat.
google avatar

Patsy L.

Yelp
Food was good. I thought it was a little pricey. The soft tofu was $20 and the Bulgoki was $38 (which was enough for 6 people). Service was great. Our waitress was nice. We went when they opened, which was 5p on a Saturday. All the tables were practically taken already. Ambiance was fine. More of a fun atmosphere with friends/family.

Yelp
Loved this Korean restaurant that is known for their soft tofu soup! It's located in the Richmond and it was pretty easy to find street parking close by. We went for dinner and ordered a kimchi soft tofu soup, and an original soft tofu soup. In addition to the soups, you got a big clay pot of rice, raw eggs to put in your soup, fried fish, and some banchan. It was a lot of food for one meal, we were able to take home leftovers. You can get unlimited banchan for free, and I believe more rice if you wanted. They also did a unique thing where they fill the clay pot with barley tea with whatever leftover rice you have in there that didn't fit inside your small bowls. It was really interesting and I've never seen that done before. Workers were all very friendly and service was fast.

Yelp
Great place to catch up with friends. The booths were comfortable when we each had bags of stuff. Our friend was running late and we sat for a long time, about 45 min. The wait staff were kind to keep checking with us. I was totally hungry so we ordered a lot. The seafood pancake was super.hot. very doughy. Like a folded pizza. Seafood bimbipap was ok. I always like the crusted rice at the bottom. The broiled galbi was the best, nice and meaty and boney. Sweet. The combo tofu soup was good but it got cold fast. Even though we said mild spice, it wasn't spicy. The bancha had fried fish, which is the best part Crunchy so you eat the bones and tail. The kimchi and the soy pieces were really good, not really spicy. The eating mate ate the cucumber and bean sprouts. Very good service. Got the barley tea which warms you up.

Yelp
First of all, the banchans are amazing and generous. She refilled ours, if we ate all of it The complimentary hot tea is roasted goodness I had the seafood pancake and loved it. It comes sizzling hot. I had to flip it cause it was getting burnt on bottom Son had the tofu soup, extra spicy. It was great Service is exceptional and very nice people work here. $54 plus $10 tip. Beautiful 70° day today, too!

Yelp
My parents used to come here decades ago... They loved it then, and still love it now! It was my first time at My Tofu House and I can easily say it'll be a place that I too will frequent time and time again. The waitresses were very friendly and efficient and service was quick. We ordered the mushroom and vegetable bibimbap, seafood soft tofu, kimchi spicy tofu, and seafood pancake. All dishes came with a generous portion of veggies and protein and a solid set of complimentary banchan, including six fried fish! The price is pretty comparable to other Korean restaurants in the city and worth it for the quality and quantity.

Yelp
Delicious authentic Korean food! Quick service and a very fair price for the amount of food you are getting. I had the pork and vegetable bibimbab medium level spicy and it was so good! Medium had a bit of a kick to it but definitely could have gone to spicy. They bring you extra gochujang so you can add spice to your liking!

Yelp
The orginal My tofu house in SF . What more else can I say. Before I even knew what soondubu (tofu soup) even was this establishment made it happen for me even after all these years 15 plus and counting for me. This specific location is close to the Jack in the Box on Geary and right next door to a legit Korean supermarket where I get my kimbap. I always come here for the combination tofu soup (beef shrimp clams) and I always add ramen as it always fills the void. All of their Tofu soups are all priced at 20 and the bbq meats 30 and up. The kalbi short ribs are my favorite on the meats. The fried fish soaked with that sweet cool cucumber sauce is really what I came here for after the tofu soup .

Yelp
i haven't had much great korean food in the bay but this place is actually pretty good! tofu soup - it has so much filling, and it's seasoned to perfection bibimbap - i like how you can actually taste the chunks of meat. they are super generous with the toppings. galbi - hard to mess up, so i loved this! the service is fantastic! i will say it is on the pricier side, and i personally don't think the tofu soup is worth the $20 price tag, but everything was tasty!

Yelp
Top notch banchan and excellent service! Put your name on paper waitlist as soon as you get there. There was a bit of a wait on a weekday night, I got there when the first round of the seating just began their meal so we waited 25-30 minutes. The prices here are steeper than I remembered, tofu soup (any variation) is $19.99 and the seafood pancake is $27.99. Both dishes were so comforting! All the banchan taste amazing, I could easily be full eating just the sides with rice. Definitely dine in to experience the generous refills!

Yelp
Our favorite K-tofu place in the city. Generous portions and they give you these fried fish when you dine in. So yummy! Seafood pancake is crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. Yum! Generous amt of seafood! Kids like their dumpling soup with little rice balls. We come here regularly on Sunday evenings! Saturday nights are pretty busy for them so if you can come other times a bit easier to get seated without waiting too long. They don't take reservations. Parking is not too difficult and given how chilly SF gets in the evenings this place if good to go all year round!

Yelp
Came here with a group of friends to try out. Not a big wait required fortunately and plenty of seats. It's a mix of booth seating and tables and adds to a cozy aesthetic. The bonchan is definitely one of the better things about this restaurant as they do come by quite a bit to refill and you get fried fish to go with your meal. I got the kimchi stew and it was very standard. I would recommend getting spicy as mild and medium barely had any heat to it. The seafood pancake is very large and really filling. The barley and rice tea is pretty good as well. It feels more of an authentic mom and pop Korean restaurant which is certainly a bonus. The service is great here. Our server Ashley was very talkative and had a good sense of humor. She came by a lot to make sure we were constantly being fed. I would recommend this place for the overall atmosphere, for, and service.

Yelp
A good tofu spot in the city! They don't have reservations or any electronic wait list system, so you have to actually be there in person and wait for your name to be called. Parking in the Richmond can be an issue, so plan accordingly. It can get pretty busy so service is hit or miss at times. Their soondubu is around 20$ which is pricey, but includes all the side dishes and fried fish- which is the highlight of the meal. They're generous with refills of the side dishes. I ordered the mild combination soft tofu, which has beef, clam, and a shrimp and a prawn. The soup itself was pretty bland. The rice that comes with the tofu is scooped out of a clay pot, with the leftover rice stuck on the side is drowned in (barley?) tea for another dish, though I don't really love this either. The portion sizes for everything is good and you'll definitely leave full, but nothing really wow's you.

Yelp
I finally got to try this place! This has been on my must go for so long. Everything I had was great. I loved the soup, banchan, and tea. I really appreciated how the servers filled my tea so often. I got the kimchi soft tofu with beef. It's definitely one of the best tofu soups I had. They also give you an egg to crack into your soup! I loved how our meal was a whole experience. I didn't expect the server to come over with fresh rice and scoop it out for us. Then that stone was was filled with tea for an after meal porridge. I was really amazed. The store is located on Geary. Parking isn't too difficult there. The inside is very clean. The service was very kind and fast. I really enjoyed my time there!

Yelp
My Tofu House has to have my favorite banchan spread in SF. They even have fried fish with their banchan if you choose to dine here. I also love how the people who work here are super sweet and they always check in to see if you'd like more banchan or rice. As for the food, the tofu soups and stews always seems to hit the spot on a cold day. They also have a combination seafood pancake with beef and seafood - which is a first for me and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Yelp
There's already over a thousand reviews, so I will just try to be succinct! - Visited on a weekday night in June around 8pm. Had no wait to seat three. - Street parking in the area; after 6pm it's free! Had no problem finding some. - We all got tofu soup, partially because that's what the spot is famous for, and partially because everything else felt a little more expensive for a dinner with friends. - I got the mild because I didn't have an idea of how spicy it would be (not spicy at all.) My two companions got medium and didn't have any spice issues. Next time I would definitely go up in heat. - I got the dumpling soup, it was good! Lots of dumpling (if you eat it too quickly it is like lava in your mouth!!) and less beef than I was hoping for with the price (hence 4 stars) - tea, banchan came with it (great!), plus those fried fish (not my thing personally). Also got ample rice that they even refilled for my friend. The soup tastes great! Comforting and warm, I love the chewy rice cakes especially. I think this is definitely worth a try if you are new to soondubu, and also a great spot to come back and enjoy!

Yelp
So glad My Tofu House opened again and we're thrilled about it. The tofu soups are our go-to, always delivering on deliciousness. The banchan options add a nice touch to the menu, and the service has consistently been great. While the space is a bit tight and cold, especially with the doors open, the soul-warming soups make up for it in colder weather. The seafood pancake, though sizable, is a tasty treat perfect for sharing. We've explored the original soft tofu, seafood tofu soup, and mushroom tofu soup on different occasions--each boasting deep flavors and undeniable deliciousness. Still on our to-try list are the Bi bim bap and BBQ, and we can't wait to savor them soon. My Tofu House has become a reliable choice for satisfying our tofu cravings.
