Heritage Hero: How Kia Hiang Became Myo Restobar

"Myo Restobar occupies the 19th floor of the Oxley Tower in Singapore's central business district. It features floor-to-ceiling windows, a swanky bar area, and a dining room. The restaurant serves homespun Chinese cooking, with the Kia Hiang Claypot Spring Chicken being a standout dish. Myo Restobar is a modern spin-off from the Kia Hiang Group, aiming to reach a new audience while retaining the traditional quality and flavors Kia Hiang is known for." - Rachel Tan

7 Best Dishes To Try In February 2018

"Myo Restobar is a contemporary-looking restaurant in the CBD area serving up traditional Cantonese home-style dishes from its affiliated heritage eatery Kia Hiang at International Plaza. The signature Kia Hiang claypot spring chicken ($18) was created by Kia Hiang's first generation owner, but you might just want to opt for the Kia Hiang claypot organic chicken that's healthier and more flavourful. The whole chicken, tender and fall-off-the-bone, is wrapped in sweet braised cabbage and smothered in a luscious herbal sauce that cries out for a bowl of white rice." - Michelin Guide Digital-Singapore

The food was outstanding, with the Claypot Spring Chicken and Fried Hor Fun with Australian Beef Cubes being the clear highlights for me. The chicken was so tender that the meat effortlessly fell off the bone, and the herbal sauce complemented it perfectly. The beef cubes were also incredibly tender, easily one of the best I’ve had. The rest of the dishes and sides were also excellent, each with its own unique charm.

The food at Myo Restobar is amazing. The clay pot spring chicken was incredibly tender and flavourful, and it’s cooked without MSG, which makes it even more impressive. The fried hor fun with New Zealand beef tenderloin had great wok hei and was very well seasoned. We also tried the crispy yam bag with scallops, which was perfectly fried with soft, flaky texture inside. For dessert, the crispy red bean pancakes and young coconut steamed with peach gum and egg white were just right and not overly sweet! Overall, we were very satisfied and would definitely return. Highly recommend!

Only knew about this place because I was clubbing at Tuff club and noticed posters of dim sum around the club. Overall food is good, recommend the Claypot chicken, tofu and Horfun.

The claypot chicken was one of the best I’ve tasted, its chicken is so soft that when the serving dish touches it, it peel open. The broth was perfect and it’s drinkable without feeling thirsty. I also tried the crispy yam bag with scallops. At first I was skeptical with this one but after my first bite, the flavour goes so well together, the yam was cooked perfectly together with the fresh scallops. The fried horfun with New Zealand Beef tenderloin was bursting with flavour. The beef itself is cooked to medium well, and it tasted almost like the main dish. Overall I am very satisfied with the restaurant’s food atmosphere and it’s definitely a place to gather for friends, colleagues, and even families. Most importantly, the price is affordable compared to many other Zi char stalls out there

Quite a nice Chinese restaurant. The variety might not be extensive but the food is quite nice. Highlights were the garoupa fish, clay pot chicken, friend prawn and the vegetables. It's in an interesting office building but the deco seems very simple

Food was very disappointing. Ordered Pork Ribs in Butter Salted Egg Yolk Sauce (it says by pieces) but it came with pork chop? the rest nothing special. The pork lard are not fresh, it taste really bad. Not worth the price.

Second visit since CNY2025. Consistent and good quality food despite an obviously packed restaurant, which is impressive. Service is top notch, everyone was helpful, attentive and smiling! Such a happy dining experience. Menu prices are very reasonable as well. Must tries: crispy yam bags with scallops, garoupa fillet claypot with ginger and garlic, guifei beancurd and of course the coconut with peach gum! dim sum are all very good too!

Had family dinner and celebrated my sister's birthday together at this wonderful restaurant. We ordered the set, the portion for each pax just nice. Dishes are up to our expectation. Price slight on the high side but worth to try. Will be back for others dishes.
