NADC Burger - Review - Soho - New York - The Infatuation

"From the same chefs as Sushi By Scratch, a national mini-chain of omakase sushi spots, and a professional skateboarder, Soho’s NADC Burger stands for “Not A Damn Chance.” A double wagyu cheeseburger here will run you $16, and besides loaded  “Beast Mode” fries, it’s the only thing on the menu. They have locations in Austin, Chicago, Denver, and Fort Worth. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Will Hartman

Google
Honestly great burger with everything I personally enjoy! Good size and well executed. The fries were also great. The only thing I can say is maybe it’s priced a bit higher than other comparable burgers of similar taste and size but not a reason to not try it!

Google
Awesome burger and awesome fries. I would take the burger without cheese next time because the cheese was a bit to much for me but thats a preference thing. The meat on the burger was delicious.

Terence Fung

Google
Very good burger. Just the right amount of sauce and seasoning for me. Fries were good too, but a bit salty after a few bites. Definitely one of my top 5 burgers in NYC.

Google
Great burger. Would definitely pick this burger over some of the competition around the area. Will be going back next time I am in the city.

Google
Great burger and even better fries - super crispy and well fried. Has a slight hint of rosemary flavor. The burger itself is very juicy and tastes balanced with the pickles. Ample backyard space for seating as well as front seating. I think you can bring your own soft drink since the menu is limited. No lines but waited around 15 minutes for the food.

Google
I heard so many things about this lace so I had to pay a visit. The joint is nice with good vibes, the staff was friendly and there was no line as I was warned about, before. I got the burger with regular fries. The burger was a little dry and I thought it’s because the wagyu has not much fat. Maybe I’m naive. The fries were awesome ( fried in beef tallow!) and their secret sauce was very good. Overall not a bad experience however I think it was a one time visit.

Google
Great burger and loved the loaded French fries. I liked how juicy the meat was and the jalapeños in the sauce were a great addition. I definitely recommend and will be returning.

Google
The service here was great. I seen this place online so I wanted to check it out. The quality of the beef is definitely very good. I am very picky and love Burgers and this one I have to say is very good. It is a smash burger and they only have two items on the menu which is the burger and fries. I do think that they should add Bacon fries or spice it up a little bit. overall, this place was good and very fast. For two burgers it was $40 so it is a little bit pricey.

Yelp
Quick grab and go; very casual spot Staff is pretty friendly When I went the water filter was broken so they could only offer tap water A burger is $16 here Standard fries are $5 with the optional $3 topping add on Plenty of seating available out front and in the patio in the back Burgers are very juicy (2 patties)

Yelp
I'll start with this: the selling point here may be the oasis-like back deck in what is a very dense and noisy part of town. The burger holds its own in a crowded burger scene. As someone who spent $1000 at Five Guys last year, if you can't tell the difference in taste between a Five Guys patty and one of the Wagyu patties at NADC, you have no business writing reviews. The difference is obvious, and the prices are--SURPRISE!--pretty much the same as Five Guys'. One concern is whether this is supposed to be a smash burger or if it's 5gbnf-inspired. I say this because the burger I received didn't look like the (floppy) smash-style burger on their website, it looked like a 5gbnf burger. If this was properly smashed (like SMASHED), I don't see why this wouldn't be a top tier burger. The ingredients work. I wasn't really a fan of the fries.

Yelp
Went here last night and got their signature burger. The shop looks like a hole in the wall but there was actually a lot of great seating inside and they have a nice back outdoor area. We are big 7th street fans so were really excited to try this new spot. I thought it was great! The flavors were so prominent in a good way, definitely a new spin on a fast food Smashburger with its elevated and slightly more upscale flavors. It is comparable to 7th street in the way that NADC has better quality meat, but I don't think the two smashburgers are hitting the same demographic. This isn't a fast food price nor a fast food crowd. However, I really enjoyed it. It standard comes with 2 pattys so heavier than 7th street. I think it just depends on your mood. But the staff was great the food came out quickly. Would recommend, my friend said he was adding it to his must-try NY burgers...

Yelp
Quick service on a weekday afternoon. The patty was juicy and flavorful, lives up to the hype!

Yelp
Oh man, am I the first reviewer?! You are in for a treat, delicious! Wagyu burger, crispy fries and good vibes. Ps - get the cookie, a must!

Yelp
Disappointing. Paid $16 for a soggy burger. My patty did not appear to be smashed. They don't offer a single patty option. The burger lacked flavor. Why use "tamed" jalapeños??? Ended up only eating about half the burger. The fries were even worse. They do not have ice for their limited drink options. I wouldn't come back. Not a damn chance.

Yelp
The burger slays. It is juicy with just the right amount of savory flavor. The jalapeños add a little bit of tartness and the sauce/onions sweetness. Fries are OK. They need some more items on the menu though. I didn't even see an option for additional toppings.

Yelp
I'm spellbound by this burger. It's been on my list for a few weeks to do a head to head same day burger tasting between here and a competitor which shall not be named. Let's just say, both burgers hit but NADC is still in my dreams. This burger was soooo delicious, sooop juicy, and the most perfect tasting meat patty I've literally ever had. I met some of the guys at Yea Chef and they were troopers despite us getting absolutely soaked. I can say, I'd stand in a downpour for this burger. I'm literally baffled by any negative comments. The bread was fire, the meat was mind blowing, and the cheese and toppings ratio was chef's kiss. If you want a cheaper burger hit White Castle, but don't come at this place for their prices when you get what you pay for.

Yelp
I hate pickles, but I loved this burger. together with a secret sauce + mild jalapenos, the first bite is truly as good as the last when it comes to smashburgers, consistency, speed, and not feeling overly stuffed after are key and nadc *delivers* the menu: one signature burger + fries with a rushmore-worthy crisp. twice-fried with a hint of rosemary, these spuds come with an elite golden crisp everyone working was beaming with joy -- you could tell they're genuinely happy to be there. dope setup with an abundance of indoor + outdoor seating (in front + back). soho's palpable energy radiates through the front's fully retractable windows. (bonus points for being steps away from spring st station) order. eat. done. BOOM. welcome to nyc

Yelp
I was super hungry and walked by this place and had their cheeseburger and fries. It was so good! I really enjoyed the meal. I can't wait to go back! This place is an amazing treat indeed. I don't eat a lot of cheeseburgers and fries all the time, so this was an awesome experience! I would definitely recommend this place to anybody who loves friendly service, amazing fresh perfect burgers, and their "Beast Mode" fries were absolutely the best!

Yelp
NADC is an EXCELLENT BURGER!!! I DO NOT understand the low ratings. The wagyu fat melts into the burger so well and the pickles and jalapeno's provide excellent acid to cut through it. I love the special sauce as well. I didn't try the beast mode fries, but I'm generally not a fan of that particular combo especially when I take on 2 double burgers. I opted for the regular fries, which were perfectly salted & super crispy. I asked if they could throw a slice of cheese as well and they happily obliged! I prefer these heftier fries to the stringier ones at Gotham, 7th Street, K.O., Hamburger America, Highlife or Paper Plate burger. I went Saturday at 7pm and they were absolutely slammed but I still got my food in about 15 minutes. Yes, it was a tight kitchen and there was a woman running expo shouting orders to the kitchen, but it reminded me of the old school diners and drive-ins; like a childhood favorite of mine: Glenwood in Connecticut: "2 dogs, 1 lob roll, 4 cheese, two of those no pickle!!!" It was crowded but there was a pretty fast turnover. Also I loved that you could add your own chipotle ketchup and special sauce in the front. I'm coming back regularly for sure for the shakes. All but the Vanilla were sold out, but I'm not mad at that. Opening months always take a bit of time to adjust to volume.

Yelp
Just tried this place after seeing the Instagram reels. I went to the soho location. I was really looking forward to this burger after seeing all the hype about this place. I have had smash burgers all over the world and I think some of the best smash burgers are in London and Sweden so I was more than ready to see what they had to offer. The order didn't take long to get but I didn't like that the server girl wasn't wearing any hair protection on her head. While waiting for the food I could see hairs from her head falling into people's fries that she was putting in the bags. (Yuk). I ordered the double burger with fries and cheese sauce. The fries were hard and cold..so was the cheese and the sauce that tasted like ranch. The fries were a big disappointment. The flavors just weren't gelling at all. There' was nothing special about them. No flavor. I was like ok....lets see what the burger taste like being that was the only saving grace. To my disappointment...the burger was horrible....very greasy I had to keep using napkins to wipe my lips and tongue. The meat tasted very bland and once again "no flavor" the bun was sub par at best. I didn't even finish my burger. I threw the rest out. After my first few bites and looking at the people on the line...I really began to see the power of social media because in my opinion the burger and fries are below sub par at best and doesn't even come close to being worthy of all this hype. I mean I can see this being the go to place if it was situated in a backwoods town in the middle of America where they don't know much about proper food. New York is the leader in the culinary scene and if you are going to come here with a concept to challenge what's already available then make sure you have the "proof in the puddin". I even asked people next to me that were eating the burger what they thought to make sure that it wasn't just me and they said the same thing. That they wouldn't come back....is just the hype. The only thing in my opinion that's good about this place is the hype. There are so many other burger places that aren't even the best in the area and in my opinion taste so much better. This is my honest review.

Yelp
I thought the burger was pretty good, not super memorable though. The fries, on the other hand, were not great, especially if there's a Michelin star chef in the kitchen. They might want to work on those fries. I'm just saying this because I feel like it's more of a marketing ploy. The ambiance was quite pleasant, but I did find the prices a bit steep for a burger and fries. Service was alright. They simply call your name when your order is ready.

Yelp
Was walking in the neighborhood and saw this new place opened and wanted to try it for a quick, casual bite. They were filming this documentary? with everyone surrounding the back. No one came to take my order for a good amount of time. I ordered a kids cheeseburger ($8) that was just cheese, patty, and bread since the other burger seemed a little pricy ($16) for a quick bite. I was the only one waiting for my order and it took over 20 minutes, which was a lot longer than expected. The burger tasted good and not greasy compared to 7th street. Wasn't sure if I could tell the difference between wagyu and regular beef patty. It seemed like they were focused on filming rather than customers on their first day, which left kind of a bad impression. There was an employee who did check up on me while I was waiting who was kind though. I would come back again to try the original burger and hopefully I will have a better experience!

Yelp
$24 for a triple smash burger, $8 for loaded fries -- $32 before tax and tip ($42 all inclusive) -- and they don't even bring your food out to you, they just shout and scream names over and over until you come pick it up yourself and THEN you throw your own trash away?! Standing in line here was an absolute.nightmare because of the shouting and screaming, then trying to enjoy myself while eating here was an absolute nightmare also because of the shouting and screaming... You can get a better burger with better fries at an actual sit down restaurant with actual service for less than the $42 they expect...I cannot stand the screaming and shouting...

Oktay M.

Yelp
Why don't kitchen workers wear gloves? While waiting for the order, the kitchen staff I saw were unfortunately not wearing gloves or hats.

Yelp
best burger ive had in a while! service was great . seating area was nice as well . all n all recommend !

Ansgar L.

Yelp
It's good. But not like super good. It's quite expensive for the smash burger but it's wagyu burger so I guess it justify the price. Overall good. But not amazing from as the marketing makes it seem.

Tamara Y.

Yelp
Very boring they got my order wrong and did not put anything I said I wanted inside so it lacked flavor. The fries average. Would I go back...no.

Melanie R.

Yelp
The burger I had at NADC was soooo good. The fries are super crispy and yummy too. Alyse helped me out today and she was so friendly and made my dining experience great! Atmosphere is awesome with a back patio to hang out on

Sweet P.

Yelp
Watched them making my burger and wasn't impressed. Cold, undercooked. The sauce was the standout, but it was just a pretty basic spicy mayo type thing.

Merks P.

Yelp
Overrated overpriced grease. Decor and ambiance are corny af. Great place for midwest transplants to have a safe space to feel "urban"

Casee F.

Yelp
This place has the best burger I've ever had! these other reviews are absolutely crazy and nonsense. definitely worth the visit it won't disappoin!

Benny C.

Yelp
$25+ for a burger and fries with no drink. they use "wagyu" and then smash all the fat out of it defeating the purpose of wagyu, leaving you with an extra greasy burger.
