The 30 Best Restaurants in Boise, Idaho | Eater

"Opened in 2022, Nahm Thai & Burmese Cuisine quickly became popular with Boise diners. It isn’t the only place in town to get your Thai fix, but the Burmese side of the menu is something special for the area. Go for the refreshing, tangy, and crunchy fermented tea leaf salad with tomatoes, nuts, seeds, and citrus, or opt for shan noodles with sweet pork and tomato sauce in a light broth with broccoli and bean sprouts." - Scott Ki

A small, owner-run kitchen pairing punchy Thai standards with Burmese signatures like tea leaf salad and fried-chicken yellow curry. Spotlighted by the Idaho Statesman and praised by Boise diners for vivid, not-sweet flavors and careful spicing.

My husband and I went here on a whim after he stumbled upon a reddit thread about good food in the area, this place was listed multiple times. We ordered three appetizers (parantha, somasa, green beans) and each got an entrée. He got the chicken fried rice, I ordered the Pad Thai Gai. Everything was absolutely delicious. I wouldn't personally prefer the samosas again (it was still very good, I discovered I prefer an Indian style and flavor profile). We saw most people leave with boxes due to their portion size (we did not because apparently we're fatties). They had to-go orders oncoming while we were there. However; the establishment is a well-oiled machine; the to-go orders didn't detract from the dining experience and our food came out hot and quick the whole time. I'm full..and already craving my next meal there! Please don't let my poor photography skills dissuade you (my husband gets annoyed when I take food photos so I try to snap them quick!). This place was delicious and I am thrilled we now have a go-to place for our Thai cuisine cravings!

Google
You HAVE to try this place. Me and my girlfriend went here for our 1 year anniversary and we both loved it! We got the spring rolls as the starter, and she got the Pad Thai Gai, and I got the Pineapple Fried Rice. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. It is very worth the price for a couple of reasons. It's a lot of food (we both took half our plate home) and it is just super delicious, filling, and very healthy. For anyone wondering, it was about $20-30 for 1 person. The atmosphere was calm (although pretty busy which is a sign that it's a popular spot). The service here is amazing, and the food came out quickly. Parking is easy to find. They accept reservations. If you want to head there for dinner, I suggest going earlier because it fills up fast (the whole restaurant was full - no empty seats) by 5:20 ish. We would love to come here again!

Google
This is some of the best Thai food I have had and I have had quite a bit. It is a limited menu, but because they want everything fresh. Highly recommended if you are in the Boise area.

Google
Very good food. We had an excellent meal and the service was great. We will definitely eat here again! We had spicy basil and tofu, spicy seafood and Tom Kha soup.

Google
Friends invited us to dinner here tonight as it has become one of their favorite restaurants and what a great recommendation! Everything was very well prepared and flavorful. I had the Pad Thai Goong which I very much enjoyed and a side of fried chicken which my friend said often sells out. The restaurant isn't huge, so you'll definitely want to get on the list as they stay busy. We all had a taste of each other's food and everybody else's orders looked and tasted great as well. Service was quick and friendly and the prices fair and affordable especially for the portion sizes you get. Will definitely be back!

Google
Wow best Thai food in the valley! Loves the mango salad and the pad Thai gai, and samosas. Food came out fast and hot! This will be a new regular spot for us. Lots of vegetarian options on the menu

Google
Have u ever eaten Burmese dishes ? My 1st time was tonight. Nahm arguably is one of the best Thai restaurants in Boise Food/service (Kai-manager & waiter) & atmosphere in our book rated 5’s If ur seeking non standard Thai, this place has it & superbly prepared.

Google
Best restaurant in the Treasure Valley! I had such an incredible experience at Nahm Thai & Burmese Cuisine that I couldn't wait to write this review. I've been to a lot of Thai restaurants over the years, but this place truly stands out in every way. I started with the Pad Thai, and it was absolutely perfect--fresh, balanced, and full of flavor without being too heavy or overly sweet. Then I tried the yellow curry with chicken, and honestly, it might be the best I've ever had. The sauce was rich, silky, and deeply comforting, with just the right amount of spice. I'm still thinking about it! I also ordered the Shan noodles, and they were amazingly flavorful--savory, aromatic, and unlike anything else you'll find in Boise. Such a wonderful surprise. On top of the incredible food, the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. You can feel their pride in what they do, and it makes the whole experience even better. If you're anywhere near Boise, do yourself a favor and go to Nahm. It's rare to find a place where every dish hits the mark, but this one does. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
This little gem checks All the boxes, 100%! It is obviously family owned and operated. Beautiful friendly smiles, very clean, great background music at the right volume. Semi open kitchen creates a level of ambiance and transparency that's refreshing. The food well, we came back two days in a row. It was our last meal before leaving for home. The food was quickly served, hot and delicious. I don't think I've written a review for ten years. This one is a pleasure to share. You will not be disappointed. Blessings

Yelp
Service was super considerate, he asked if we wanted chopsticks and he gave us a little car air freshener thing! Food was delicious, I really enjoyed the Fiery chicken specifically because the spice kick was fantastic. It is sweet at first and then hits you with the spice. It goes really perfectly with the coconut rice. Green beans were also great and I really enjoyed the picked mustard in the kau swe beef as well as the contrast between the egg noodles and the fried noodles but I found the beef to be slightly tough. Cashew nut beef was definitely on the sweeter side but the flavor was good as well. Thai tea was classic, tasty as always. My sister got the thai green tea and it's more towards the floral side on flavors but she really liked it! Overall, would definitely come again! It was a delicious meal.

Yelp
Came in on a Saturday night and the place was packed with about a 25-minute wait. The restaurant is small but cozy. I decided to order takeout instead. I got the Spicy Eggplant with Beef along with coconut rice. I noticed that the dine-in portions looked about the same as the takeout portions (relatively small). My meal came out to roughly two scoops of the entrée and one scoop of rice. The flavor was pretty good, but after finishing, I definitely felt like I needed more food. The waitress and cashier were very friendly and welcoming. Prices were reasonable as well. Overall, it was a tasty meal with good service, I just wish the portion sizes were larger.

Yelp
Went back for a second round of takeout, and was astounded once again! The Fiery Chicken is incredible! Don't let the name scare you away; it's got a bit of a kick but is nothing crazy. The Burmese dishes here really are some of the greatest eats one can find in Boise. Got the Crispy Rolls and Pad Thai Tofu, and both were great.

Yelp
First time here and it's going to be a regular spot. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! Service was great. Try the Australian wine. Chill and great vibe. Loved it!

Yelp
What an exquisite experience! Definitely somewhere I always recommend. Food: 5/5. The pumpkin curry with chicken is a fabulous meal any time of the year, but especially fall. It has the perfect kick and the sides are phenomenal as well. The mango sticky rice is a great refreshing dessert. Service: 5/5. There was a little bit of a wait to get in, but once we were seated we were immediately helped and our food came quick. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful. Atmosphere: 5/5. This small restaurant is very cozy and beautiful. I love the intimate setting and decor.

Yelp
THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD! The restaurant is a bit tiny however they make it work. Every table was being used it was super busy which is an incredible sign and I completely understand why. The food is SO good. Great portions and the service is fast! I ordered the papaya salad and Samosas both were 10/10. My friends got the Pad Thai and also said it was so good! We also got drinks and they were also incredible. Honestly sad that I don't live around here and can come often because it was really good. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Thai food is on my favorite list so Nahm was today's lunch choice. I did check out their online menu. I was hoping for a lunch menu but there wasn't one available. I thought maybe coming in person that a lunch menu would be an option. Unfortunately, no lunch menu. It's been years since I have been here. Walking in, I don't remember this joint being so small. But these folks made it work. There were plenty of tables for guests and it was still comfortable. The nice server sat me next to the window. It was nice and bright. I checked out the menu again and decided on tofu with eggplant. I really stepped out of my comfort zone ordering the tofu and eggplant. I have my "usual" dishes that I order when I eat Thai food but I'm happy I stepped out of my norm. The eggplant was fresh and flavorful. I didn't mind the tofu not being fried. You can taste and smell the basil. It had the perfect amount of heat to it. The dish was a tad on the saltier side but if you ate it with the steamed rice it mellowed out the salt level. It was such a nice time eating at Nahm today. Service was fantastic. Food was fabulous. The location is convenient. It's not quite in downtown where it's chaotic and parking is easy. I look forward to going back!

Yelp
Today's adventures lead us to Nahm Thai & Burmese Cuisine- food was 10/10...periodTtt (is this what the kids say now?) Suggestions- arrive exactly at opening time because you will wait. We got here at 4:30 and the place was full by 4:45pm. No. Empty. seats. -- with Jorge A. Grajeda at Nahm Thai and Burmese Cuisine.

Yelp
Hands down the best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand. The khao soi took me right back to my time in Chiang Mai, and the Burmese tea leaf salad was nice and refreshing. Portions were huge and the servers were very friendly. Will definitely be coming back if I'm ever back in Boise!

Yelp
Wow! Wow!! Here for a work trip in Boise and happened to come across this place as I was craving for Thai food. As I was reading some reviews I was intrigued esp when one of the reviews said that you have to come when they open at 4:30 pm or else there's going to be a line!! Lo and behold, I got here around 5 pm and the place was packed. I think I filled up the last available table. When I go to a Thai place, I always order green curry with beef as my barometer of how good of a Thai resto it is. When it was served, the first thing I noticed was the aroma of the basil and the consistency of the curry. I can just see from the presentation that it was fresh and the quality of coconut milk is already good. But as soon as I took a sip of the curry sauce, I was taken to a whole new level. It definitely took me back to Bangkok. Honestly, I would rate it as the best green curry with beef I've ever had in the US. This is also the first time I've seen that they use beef shank on their green curry. It was tender and just YUMMY!! The plate also featured a nice cucumber salad which paired well and a balance to the richness of the dish. It also came with brown rice and fried something (which I didn't really care for). I also ordered their green beans and it was so delicious. Then ordered their special mango sticky rice to go coz I was already full. I will definitely try their other dishes when I come back to Boise. I highly recommend this place if ever you visit Boise and just like me, craving for good Thai food. This is the place to be! Also, they has some Burmese dish on the menu that I hope to try on my next visit! Lastly, server was very professional and it was quick!!

Yelp
This is my 4th time eating here. I found it on Yelp and the reviews are spot on. The food doesn't disappoint. The service is excellent. If I lived closer I would be here more often. It's a quaint and clean restaurant. I like great Asian cuisine and I will always come back when I'm in the area.

Yelp
I had the Crispy Rolls and the Laab Kua and did an Uber delivery. Delivery was quick. The rolls were spicier than expected but delicious. The Laab (sometimes spelled Larb at other restaurants) was very good too. Accompanying the Laab were several lettuce leaves that were crisp and fresh. Also a nice portion of sticky rice which was prepared perfectly. The minced meat in the Laab was aromatic and savory, perfect with the lettuce leaves. Now, let me give you a tip: I saw no indication of spice level either on the Uber Eats menu or on Nahm's own website. I just went with it. But, if you have any concern about heat level, I suggest that you ask them to tone it down just a bit. It was all very tasty and I look forward to trying other items on the menu.

Lena

Yelp
Great service, very delicious food! We were lucky to get table as soon as came into restaurant.

Katrina B.

Yelp
We absolutely love the food here. I've eaten at most Thai spots in Boise and this is one of the bests! Can't go wrong with curry or their fiery chicken. Never had a bad meal. Service is so friendly and really makes you feel welcome. Within a few bites we knew this would be one of our go to spots! Sure enough we are here at least once a month!

Yelp
I will have to say this may genuinely the best Thai/burmese food I've had for many reasons. The presentation is clean and aesthetic and doesn't take away from the flavor at all. We tried the pork curry and the cashew chicken. The pork curry is not something I would normally get. Not a big pork fan. I must saw that the flavors were so unique and delicious. The spices and soft braised pork were immaculate. I will be thinking of this place on my way back home. The cashew chicken was so refreshing being sweet with slight notes of spice. This paired perfectly with the coconut rice which was not sweet to my surprise, but engulfed with that lovely coconut flesh flavor. All the servers were so kind and just had a warm aura to them. It made the dining experience so much more welcoming.

Yelp
Never tried Burmese food but, heard good things about it. Had to try their best sellers which were the Tea Leaf Salad & Hung Lay. The tea leaf salad has a mix of sweet and spicy with crunchy peanuts - never tried anything like it but it was delicious! The Hung Lay was packed with flavor with big chucks of tender pork belly that's been cooked for hours with a side of coconut rice. The staff here were great - very attentive and they were quick with the service. Already came back to this place because of its authentic flavors!

Yelp
Authentic Thai/Burmese food, in an unassuming strip mall in Boise. I live in LA and eat a lot of Thai food, but had never previously tried Burmese dishes. Even on a weeknight, Nahm was busy. We waited about 25 minutes for a table for 6 people. The Thai Iced Green Tea was a powdered matcha style, but adequately tasty. I say skip this, and get the Burmese Milk Tea instead. Served hot, this delicious drink tasted like horchata, with earthy black tea at the back of the palate. There were an abundance of vegetarian/vegan options on the menu. My favorite dish overall was the "Fiery Tofu", which was labeled as Burmese dish. While not nearly spicy enough to warrant its title, the dish consisted of a delicious tofu stir fry with a richly savory, kaffir lime-scented sauce. I was most excited to try the Tea Leaf Salad (Lah-Pet-Tok), as I had never tried fermented tea leaves before. It had a pungent, fermented flavor that was tasty, but a bit of a flavor bomb. The Thai style Papaya Salad was just okay, as were the Samosas, which contained a passable pumpkin/potato filling. Service was friendly, but rushed. Our plates were cleared before we were finished eating, and our bill slapped down on the table before we were able to even ask about dessert (we did in fact, want dessert). Still a good experience overall, especially in Boise.

Yelp
Really phenomenal Asian food, especially for the area. Fastest service I've ever seen, I had my food in under five minutes. The broth was very flavorful, and the meat was extremely tender. Love the addition of the egg and the noodles were perfectly firm, but somehow soft at the same time. The place was crowded, but they were still able to seat us very quickly. They had a ton of takeout orders throughout our entire time there, just showing how popular it was. My bowl was about $22 with tax and tip.

Di

Yelp
We were so excited when we saw Burmese food advertised since we had our favorite place back in Northern Ca. Well, I wouldn't call what we had Burmese. It was heavy in the Thai side which s similar, yet completely different. Due to it being close to their closing for lunch, we weren't expecting a singular drum stick in our chicken dish. Seriously... how are 2 people supposed to split a drumstick? That was the only piece of chicken in our meal. We actually had more rice than the main entree too which was shocking.

Yelp
We all love Nahm Thai & Burmese Cuisine!! AMAZING food, great & friendly service !!! I have some food sensitivities, especially to oils. My son has a peanut allergy & they go out of their way to cater to that. Their food is very clean! I always feel wonderful after eating. We could eat there everyday!
google avatar

Jessie B.

Yelp
First time take out from Nahm and everything is sooooooo delicious. The only place to eat Thai in Boise! Wow. Super small place with many people waiting. Takeout was a solid plan!

Janine F.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing food and service! The flavors were delicious and we enjoyed the entire meal. It was our first time in Boise and this restaurant is a must! The decor is really cute too and it's a quiet ambiance, perfect for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
Wow! I was passing through Boise during my long road trip and I'm so glad I found this restaurant on yelp. I was looking for something delicious and comforting and this really hit the spot and warmed my soul!! I came right at opening time and service was super friendly and the place filled up pretty fast! I ordered what others recommended which was the Hung Lay and I've never had anything like it. I've grown up eating Asian food all my life and the depth of flavor that this one had was so unique and savory and yummy and now I'll always remember Boise as the city with the best Hung Lay.

George H.

Yelp
I love Thai food. Been to many "OK" Thai restaurants in the US and overseas. This place serves some of the best traditional Thai fare I've had outside Bangkok. Staff is always friendly and service focused; even when full and up to their ears in take-out orders. Lots of happy diners. Even when busy, patrons are mostly patient and understanding. The great food is worth the wait.
google avatar

Mandy B.

Yelp
We've been looking for a Burmese restaurant since moving to Boise. They did not disappoint! It was a little different than what I'm used to with the Thai twist but in the best possible way. The food was amazing, service was great and food came out quick. Loved every bite and can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Cute spot with plenty of parking in a plaza. Inside is not huge but a good amount of seating. Would be harder for large groups. Service was friendly. - thai teas (regular and green) had flavorful tea that wasn't very sweet and just right amount of milk. - tea lead salad was delicious, lots of flavor and ingredients. First time I had carrots in my tea leaf salad. It was slightly spicy. - grilled beef was tender and has good flavor. The dipping sauce was good. I really liked that it came with grilled pineapples, onions, and tomatoes. - khao soi was very flavorful and delicious. It was thicker in consistency than I am used to, usually it's more thin soupy. The meat was tender and juicy except one piece was dry. Overall we had a great experience dining here!

Alexis A.

Yelp
Amazing food and even better service. This place can take all of my money. The cashew chicken was fiiiire! Both of the Thai teas were great and the egg custard dessert was the perfect way to end our meal.
google avatar

Yelp
What a great find! They were very busy but we were seated fairly quickly. Food was flavorful and perfectly seasoned. Servers were attentive and helpful. The dining area was a bit tight but not a big deal. Highly recommended.

Carrie And Bryce M.

Yelp
In town for work and we found a new favorite. Their green beans appetizer was so delicious. A flavor that starts with a slight sweetness and then blends more savory. My husband got the Pad Thai which he loved and I got the cashew beef with coconut rice. The beef was tender and we both loved it. I liked the coconut rice but it became too much after a little bit. But that is just my personal taste. Next time I'll try the sticky rice. The service was fast and accommodating. Small place with a capacity of 40. We arrived at 4:30 when they opened and they were almost full when we left at 5:10. We will be back for more green beans and to try new dishes!
google avatar

M J.

Yelp
My go to dish is pad Thai. They do it a little different but it's so good. The staff is friendly and orders come out in a timely manner. What amazed me is that this the cleanest restaurant I've ever been in, just amazing. But those mirrors?
google avatar

Sergio A.

Yelp
Some excellent food here. We decided that we would order more food than we knew could eat, just to have take home boxes. Our starters were the tea leaf salad and grilled Brussel sprouts. The salad had a very light dressing that had fish sauce in it. Quite pleasant, crunchy and savory. Totally recommend. The sprout dish was not as good. We have this dish at almost every time we see it on a menu. Unfortunately this version lost lots of praise because about 1/3 of the sprouts were not fully cooked. Hard centers and too much bitterness was the result. This dish went into the takehome box for more cooking. The main dishes were Hung Lay and Sweet Basil Chicken both with sticky rice. Hard to describe the Hung Lay with all of the pork belly goodness in it. It may show spicy on the menu, but being a Thai pepper fire eater, this was just tasty. So avoiding this dish because of the menu warning that they cannot make it less firey, is a nonsense statement. Order it with sticky or coconut rice and you will love it. The basil chicken was super tasty and strongly recommended.

Teresa B.

Yelp
This is my favorite Thai place in Boise. The owner is always there and he makes sure that everything is what you want. I always change the protein on my curry order and he never bats an eye. The GF orders are reliable. I have never been ill after eating here. Super clean. Good parking. Quick. What's not to love?
google avatar

Nicole E.

Yelp
The tea leaf salad looks so good from the pics online. Sold! Started off with the tea leaf salad and the fiery chicken with coconut rice to share. $30.63. It's worth every penny and every delectable bite! Not sure how much more food I can eat after this meal. This may end our progressive meal today then. The tea leaf salad is quite good, was wishing I had ordered my own to eat it all up. So many different wonderful medley of flavors and textures too. A bit of heat with every bite, very subtle though. The fiery chicken is also spicy and flavorful. Not too strong of a curry and not overpowering at all. I get hints is some ginger. The salad and chicken seemed like teasers and made me wish we were getting more food to try out. The coconut rice would be better with a better grain of rice. It would be 100 times better with some short grain or long grain Kokuho rose rice. The food is amazingly delicious here. Service was quick and efficient as well.

Yelp
First, a confession. I have never had Thai food. Even I don't know how I achieved Elite status with that missing from my resume. And now I may never eat it again, at least not until I find myself in Boise because I don't think I can find anything better. This food was absolutely incredible. I had the Tea Leaf Salad and Fiery Chicken with Coconut Rice. The salad was filled with all sorts of crunchiness, a variety of tastes, and a refreshing counterpoint to the Fiery Chicken. That chicken had just the right amount of fire and curry. Scooping up forkfuls of chicken with rice made for a wonderful chew. I was dining alone but eating for two. I left very full and didn't eat again until a late lunch the next day. The owner helped me place my order, served me, and asked how I enjoyed my meal. What a friendly guy. I was visiting Boise from the San Francisco Bay Area and it turns out that only a couple of years ago he had a restaurant in San Francisco. Oh well. At least I found him in Treasure Valley. I hope I get back one day.

Yelp
Nahm Thai is a relatively new restaurant off of Broadway St and Myrtle St. I've been here twice and have been impressed by the menu! While it is labeled as a Thai restaurant, the menu include Thai as well as Burmese dishes. I've brought my parents here twice as they prefer Asian cuisines. We have enjoyed the tea leaf salad, pad Thai, Hung Lay (pork belly curry), and coconut curry beef soup. Highly recommend all dishes! Of course, you also have to get the Thai tea while here! There are still a few dessert options, which I have not had the chance to try. Ambiance is cozy and decorative. I love the detailed thoughts the owners put into selecting decor and furniture. Even the menus are beautifully designed! Be aware that weekend evenings can get very busy here!

Yelp
When we were scouting out restaurants for our trip to Boise, it didn't seem like there was much in the way of Asian cooking of any kind (no, P.F. Chang's doesn't count). But when we got here, Nahm came up in a Yelp search as being within walking distance, and the five-star average got my attention; I know how hard it is for a restaurant to keep that kind of average. Further, I saw that some of the raves were from fellow elites. My foodie companion and I both love Thai food--we live in LA, which is arguably home to the best Thai food in the country--but we were particularly excited that Nahm cooked Northern Thai and Burmese food, as these are much harder to find. So we were sold, and today at lunch, we discovered that the hype is indeed real. The restaurant is located in an upscale strip mall not far from the Whole Foods (there seems to be parking, though we were on foot), and inside, it's clean and comfortable. It was fairly busy when we arrived--about noon--and the server greeted us immediately and showed us to a two-top. We wanted to focus on the Burmese and Northern Thai specialties rather than the Thai dishes that tend to be more ubiquitous (e.g., yellow curry); we wanted things we couldn't get at pretty much any Thai restaurant back home in LA. We began with the tea leaf salad, which is a Burmese specialty. It combines fermented tea leaves with greens, nuts, fried shallot and garlic and more. Their iteration was very light and dressed in a way that offered a bit of kick and a little "funk" of just the right variety. It was the perfect starter, and the more I ate, the better it got (and the more I craved it). For our mains, we opted for Hung Lay, a pork belly curry from Northern Thailand, and Shan noodles, a popular Burmese dish. Both of these were just as outstanding as our starter. Hung Lay isn't particularly spicy; it's more rich and flavorful (we had ours accompanied by coconut rice) and includes ginger and pickled garlic and tamarind (for just a little sweetness). It's also surprisingly not nearly as heavy as one might imagine. The Shan noodles were a great pairing to go with the curry: They're rice noodles with house tomato sauce, soft-boiled egg, ground pork, bean sprouts, broccoli (and other goodies), all in a clear broth. Another dish that was lighter than you might expect and addictively delicious. Service is attentive and friendly. I also loved the Julia Child quote they had posted over the entrance to the kitchen. Clearly, these are folks who love pleasing others with their food, and their food is pleasing indeed. Bottom line: Nahm is a keeper. It's not just a great restaurant for Boise; it's a great restaurant for anywhere.

Yelp
Fresh and flavorful. Great service. It's small but comfortable. Convenient location. Pleasant atmosphere and nice presentation.

Yelp
This is a solid Asian option in a town without much beyond the casual fine dining chains. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about food preparation. We enjoyed the fermented tea leaf salad, but I will give a heads up that the flavor is a bit more intense than other restaurants because they use some legit fermentation on their tea. We also enjoyed the fried chicken curryplate because who can say no to a fried chicken curry. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the rice wasn't overdone. My favorite side dish was the cucumber salad which comes as a side and along with the other dishes. Very good!

Yelp
Amazing food and service. We love this tiny restaurant. It's a twist of Thai and Bermise food. The owners are delightful!

Yelp
Excellent. In Boise on business and was close to hotel with good quality/quantity Yelp reviews, and didn't disappoint. Got yellow curry with fried chicken, cucumber salad. All very good. Will go again.

Yelp
Lightning fast service with a side of great food. I went for a business dinner and arrived about 10 minutes before they closed. I was hesitant to go in thinking they wouldn't want us coming in that late but we were nicely greeted and quickly seated. I ordered the beef with eggplant and a side of coconut rice for the table. It seemed that withing minutes of the server taking our order he was right back to the table with the food. Piping hot and full of flavor and aromas and the spice was just right.

Yelp
"Remarkable!" That was my response to owner / host / server Chauwalit Srivarawong's inquiry, "How is your food?". My husband and I were sharing hung lay (a Northern Thai curry dish made here with pork belly) and had just polished off a tea leaf salad. We love Northern Thai and Burmese cooking, it is on our 'radar' when we travel, and generally not found in any of Boise's Thai restaurants in this array of options and quality. We were amazed and delighted to find this in a newly opened 'mom n pop' ownership restaurant here with all so expertly crafted. So, in return, I asked a question, "Did you own a restaurant before opening Nahm?" The answer was yes, in San Francisco in the Castro which he and his wife closed in Fall 2021 to relocate to Boise. Using this location, previously Pat's Thai Kitchen, they started the new chapter of their lives. I understand wife / owner Sunsanee Charoenyothin runs the kitchen. And I imagine finding people who can cook Northern Thai food is a challenge because it is a skill developed over time. So very well done here! Our first visit was the second week after they opened at early lunch hour. There were few diners and we could hear the "wow" comments being made as they ate. But enough tables seated to keep the owner busy with serving and answering phones for take out orders and still he was gracious when I asked a question about the hung lay braise, I love to cook and it was a curious cook's question, to squat down by our table and share how they get the pork belly just right. After our first visit I emailed friends to urge them "Go now before this is discovered because when it is there will be a line at the door." SERENE SPACE / STELLAR SERVICE: The ambience in the small space (they have table seating for maybe 38 diners) is charming and welcoming but tight for seating. Service was top notch for grace and efficiency. With limited staff I hope for them that only nice people who are gracious customers dine here to be understanding of the inevitable delays in service that will happen when they try to serve full houses and take out from the small kitchen. FOOD & MENU: Everything was perfect for flavors and plating. They have a lunch menu with some items served along with soup & salad. I ignore those in a Thai restaurant (they are almost always required given American diners expect lunch specials in Asian places) and use the main menu. And in an authentic place like Nahm you are not going to be able to "choose your protein" and heat level as in many (dumbed down for American palates...sorry but it's true) places. The dish is what the dish is. And here it will be splendid. See menu photos I posted (including lunch $13 - $15) for detail listings. Two page main menu runs $13 - $19. On front: Starters (including salads, Thai samosas, etc. $10- $14), Soup (two $13 - $19), Chicken & Pork ($14 - $19), Beef ($16-$19) On back: Seafood ($17 - $19), Vegetarian ($14 - $15), Noodles ($14 - $18), Desserts ($7 - $11). Libations are soft and also I think limited beer, wine and cocktails (can?). ACCESSIBILITY: Level through the door and all on one level. Tables are standard height but tight spacing. There appears to be a table or two that would be usable by a diner using a wheelchair, although one is awkwardly right at the door. Didn't check the loo. An ADA accessible parking space is in the lot down the sidewalk from the entrance. (I have had multiple sclerosis since college days so I pay attention.) PARKING: Private lot is small and pretty awkward and shared by other businesses in this strip mall. ALTERNATIVES: If you can't get in here and are looking for good Thai food in Boise, it is my humble Yelp opinion that pickings are slim. Most are from forgettable to poor. Exceptions being Boise Thai Noodle House, also a Northern Thai native owner and cooks in the kitchen turning out some very good dishes and with lovely ambiance and friendly service. The other being Mai Thai in downtown Boise which can be very good at times but woefully inconsistent. It seems a problem of the native of Thailand owner having trouble with staffing in the kitchen and also it seems a focus sometimes more on the cocktail bar than the food. Mai Thai also provides food via Crave Delivery as cooked in their Meridian ghost kitchen and it is just lousy then. IF I WERE QUEEN: I would add Khao Soi to Nahm's menu. A curried noodle dish most commonly served with chicken. It is perhaps my favorite of all Northern Thai / Burmese dishes and was my introduction to the cuisine 25 years ago. They had it on menu at their SF eatery so I hope they might add it here. PS: For fun take a look at their 4.5 star Yelp rated SF place Me & Tasty. SF's loss is Boise's gain. As high praise I say I haven't been this excited about a new eatery since my first meal at Amano (Caldwell) when they opened in Aug 2019.

Yelp
Hands down best Thai food in the valley. Wonderful service, everything in the menu is amazing and the tastes take me back to Thailand.

Yelp
We shared the Hung Lay, Burmese Tea Leaf salad and the Fiery Chicken for two and it was more than enough. Even their jasmine rice is delicious. Salad needed more dressing and flavor took a bit for us to get used to. It just wasn't as good as our other items. Fiery chicken was good but the Hung Lay was better. I've never heard of it before but Hung Lay is a northern Thai pork curry. The pork was SO tender and it wasn't even pork belly. The flavors of the curry were so unique I couldn't pinpoint the ingredients either. But it is straight fire and the only thing you need to really try here if you're looking for some authentic good Thai/Burmese style food in Boise.

Yelp
What a nice new find in Boise! Nahm Thai popped up as a Hot & New business, and I was so stoked to try it out because I looove Burmese & Thai cuisine. It's located in the plaza by RAM Brewery right off Broadway; lots of parking but it's quite full bc it's a busy plaza. I saw a lot of people snagging takeout orders too! When you walk inside, the dining room is small but very bright with natural light & tastefully decorated... very inviting. There are maybe 8-10 tables total so it's small & quaint. I was seated right away & my server was so kind, wanting to help explain the menu despite him being so busy. The food is heavenly!! I started with the samosas, which are their Burmese version made in-house from scratch & filled with pumpkin instead of white potatoes, well seasoned in a lightly fried phyllo wrap & served with a sweet chili sauce. It also had a small side of their deliciously fresh cucumber salad (with red onion & sweet vinegar sauce). Y'all those are some of the best samosas I've ever had! For my entree, I chose the yellow curry with Thai fried chicken, served with a flaky fried roti, rice, & cucumber salad. I switched from the sticky rice to the coconut rice - such a great choice! The yellow curry was so savory & the flaky roti (almost croissant-like) was so nice to dip in the curry. The chicken had a great flavor but was almost too cooked crispy for me, and the curry was so filling. All in all, I can't wait to come back to Nahm to try their other entrees... the pork belly curry was my 2nd choice & will try it next. I highly recommend you come here when you're in Boise & searching for an eclectic Asian cuisine... you won't be disappointed :)
