The Best Indian Restaurants in New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"The CBD is exploding with excellent new Indian restaurants, and one of the best is this low-key spot opened by Kumud Ranjan and Rani Masgalli with chef Sudhardshan “Suda” Kasarapu in March 2023. The large menu highlights dishes from southern India, including several vegetarian items like kadai paneer, aloo mutter, and dal makhani, as well as familiar biryanis, lamb and goat curries, lamb vindaloo, and tandoori chicken (there’s even a section of noodle and rice Indo Chinese dishes)." - Beth D’Addono

The Best Restaurants in New Orleans’s Central Business District (CBD) | Eater New Orleans

"Tucked away in the Wyndham Garden Hotel, Namaste Nola is a gem, with both Southern and Northern Indian dishes on a vast menu. Chef Suda Kasarapu is one of three friends, now partners, in the business. The chef blends, toasts, and grinds as many as 18 different spices to make dishes like his popular korma sauce and chicken chettinad, rich with coconut. Not the typical Indian buffet, for sure." - Beth D’Addono

Our server Orion provided excellent service. He was so helpful, smiley, and patient. The food was absolutely amazing! As a desi myself, I was very impressed with some new south Indian flavors. The medium was pretty spicey even for me as a Southeast Asian so that's something to keep in mind if you're feeling ambitious. I highly recommend!!! We ordered fried mutton, dum ka chicken, and diri-something biryani. And the mocktail were so fun! All their meat is halal!

Satisfying food! Its incredible, amazing food! Service was great they even make the egg masala even they don’t have it anymore on the menu, well they used to have it! Good, calm, and peaceful environment! 🥰best Mango Lassi ever!

Good Ambiance, Decent Food, but Some Misses Namaste NOLA has a welcoming atmosphere with beautiful indoor plants and thoughtfully curated decor that makes for a cozy dining experience. The service was okay—not the most attentive, but nothing to complain about. For appetizers, we tried the Chicken 65 and Gobi Manchurian. The Chicken 65 had a nice crispy texture but lacked the bold punch of flavor I was expecting. The Gobi Manchurian, on the other hand, was overly wet and didn’t taste as fresh as I’d hoped. For the main course, we ordered the Butter Chicken, which had a flavorful curry but was overwhelmingly salty, making it difficult to fully enjoy. One thing I always look forward to is Limca, and while it was great to see it on the menu, paying $4 for a small can felt a bit excessive. Overall, Namaste NOLA has a nice vibe, and I’d still recommend it if you’re in the area, but I’d manage expectations on consistency in food quality. A solid 4 stars.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Namaste Nola, and it was an experience worth raving about! From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the tone for a fantastic meal. The service was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about ensuring every guest feels welcomed. The staff’s knowledge of the menu added a personal touch that made the evening even more enjoyable. Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely phenomenal! Every dish was bursting with flavor, showcasing the rich spices and authenticity of Indian cuisine. The highlight of my meal was the chicken tikka masala paired with their butter naan. The chicken tikka masala was a masterpiece—tender, succulent pieces of chicken bathed in a creamy, perfectly spiced tomato sauce that hit all the right notes of bold and comforting. The butter naan was the ideal companion, soft and fluffy with just the right amount of buttery richness, making it impossible not to tear off piece after piece to scoop up that delicious masala. It’s easily one of the best renditions of this classic dish I’ve ever had. Overall, Namaste Nola is a gem in New Orleans. The combination of outstanding food, top-notch service, and a cozy vibe makes it a must-visit for anyone craving Indian cuisine—or just a great meal in general. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their menu! I would also like to mention that this was the best dish I had in New Orleans since touching down

Google
Nice spot for Indian food in New Orleans! The cheese naan and garlic naan were fresh and tasty. The tandoori chicken had a good flavor profile. It was nicely seasoned and cooked well. The lamb shank could’ve used a little more time to become fully tender, and some dishes were a bit on the salty side, but overall still enjoyable. Service was fine, and we didn’t have to wait long for our meal, which was a plus. A good option if you’re looking for a flavorful meal with prompt service.

Google
Instagram convinced me to go! Chicken was extremely well seasoned. Service was great! The naan was dry-more like a cracker? But the portions to price ratio was off. Rice was extra which I’ve yet to encounter at an India spot. Glad i tried it but my ideal Indian food spot will continue in Kenner.

The presentation here is good. The employees were nice. The appetizers were order had a bit of a kick to them. It was the samosas and onion dish that started with a p. It was similar flavor to the samosas but looked different. We also had butter chicken, tikka masala, and garlic naan, it was very good. For the service, after we were seated we did have to let them know we were ready to order, that was the only negative thing. After that they were on target with everything, which is appreciated! You do have to make a reservation for this restaurant.

A Fusion of Vibes and Flavors 😋🍲🥗🍸 We recently visited Namaste Nola for a small mentor–mentee dinner gathering of five people...4 of us Indian and 1 American friend. What unfolded was an evening filled with lively conversations, flavorful surprises, and a few unexpected misses. 🌟 Ambience & Service The restaurant exudes a warm and elegant vibe. The decor is a tasteful blend of modern and Indian aesthetics, making it a cozy yet classy setting for both casual hangouts and special dinners. The staff was courteous, attentive, and accommodating throughout our meal, adding to the overall pleasant experience. 🍹 Drinks Namaste Nola clearly knows how to do its drinks right 🤗. Each of the cocktails and mocktails we tried was unique and beautifully presented. Rum Rose Cocktail 🍷 : A tropical punch of rum and pineapple mellowed by the smooth finish of red wine 🍷absolutely refreshing. Dirty Martini 🍸: Strong, crisp, and balanced. Perfectly done for those who enjoy their martinis classic. Namaste Sunrise Cocktail 🍹: Tequila meets citrus with a subtle floral hint.. great twist on the Tequila Sunrise. Namaste Day (Mocktail) 🧃: Fruity, fizzy, and vibrant....a hit even among the cocktail drinkers. 🥟 Appetizers Gobi Manchurian: Crispy, tangy, and well-spiced.....everything you'd expect from this Indo-Chinese classic. Mirpakaya Bajji: Back in India it is called Mirch Bhajji. A delicious take on the spicy, stuffed jalapenos.....comforting and bold in flavor. 🍛 Entrees The vegetarian entrees absolutely stole the show: Malai Kofta: Rich, creamy, and melt-in-the-mouth...this dish was the star of the night. Methi Malai Mutter: Subtle yet flavorful with a luscious texture; perfectly complemented the naan selection. However, the non-vegetarian dishes fell short of expectations: Kodi Kura (Chicken Curry) and Royalla Iguru (Shrimp) lacked the depth, spice kick, and aromatic boldness Indian curries are known for. They felt under-seasoned and didn’t carry the typical Indian soul you'd hope for. This was a letdown, especially with the strong veg competition on the same table. The rice and variety of breads....butter garlic naan, chilli naan, and masala kulcha, were soft, fresh, and made great companions to the curries. 🍨 Dessert Gulab Jamuns: Warm, soft, and syrupy perfection. A sweet ending that wrapped up the meal beautifully. 💰 Overall Impression Namaste Nola offers an aesthetically pleasing space, fantastic drinks, and standout vegetarian fare. While the non-veg menu didn’t quite deliver the expected Indian punch, the overall dining experience was enjoyable. Yes, the prices are a bit on the higher side, but given the setting and presentation, it's understandable....just wish the flavor matched up across the board.

Yelp
All I need to say is BUTTER CHICKEN!! Hands down the best we have ever had. Got that and the garlic Naan. Read reviews and got some to go. Friendly staff and nice vibe. To go order was ready within me finishing a cup of water. Plenty of tables from what I saw. Anytime we are back in town, we would make it a point to try other things, but it's a great start.

Yelp
Best Butter Chicken In New Orleans I'd passed this place a few times and never really noticed it. We decided to try it and were amazed at the experience. The atmosphere is casual and relaxing. The friendly staff explains each menu item in detail. The Shrimp Roast (coconut and chili) was fantastic! The sauce alone over rice would have been satisfying. The garlic Naan was another stand alone item I could have daily with coffee... Everything was presented with bright colors, fresh vegetables, and fruit. The star was the Butter Chicken. Tender chicken in a spicy curry ( I like it over brown rice). It was the best I'd had since Devon Street in Chicago...

Yelp
Tried this place on my trip to New Orleans. We started off with Stormy Ginger Beer and Sage Lemonade which were awesome. For food we had Navratna Korma with Roti and Chicken Curry with Garlic Naan. The food was delicious. The server was super friendly and attentive. The ambiance was decent. I would definitely recommend this place! Must try!

Yelp
Namaste is completely amazing. I wouldn't have expected to have such incredible Indian cuisine in the lobby of a Wyndham, but the food is absolutely delicious. Don't be fooled by the unassuming location! I've ordered the same thing every time I come here, and it's been consistently excellent. I get an appetizer of samosas, which are perfectly spiced, and for my entree I get the chicken korma, with an order of plain naan. Chicken korma is one of my go-to dishes at any Indian restaurant, and Namaste's is up there with some of the best. Their naan is also great. If you're in New Orleans and looking for great Indian food, don't miss Namaste!

Yelp
Namaste is located inside one of those grand downtown hotels and because of that, it's easy to miss. I first wandered in on a day that I'd planned to eat somewhere else for lunch, but the original plans had fallen through. Well, nevertheless, I was starving. It was nearing 4 pm and I hadn't eaten a thing. I was walking along rather frustrated, looking for a restaurant that was open mid day on a weekday, and suddenly I caught a whiff of the most divine aroma--the spices of a lush Indian curry. It was just what I needed. Fantastic food and I would not change a thing. I tried the navrattan korma without cottage cheese and the butter naan which was delightfully fat and fluffy. The korma was rich and creamy and flawlessly spiced. It was on the hot side, though I'd ordered mild, so keep that in mind if you have a low threshold for spicy things. Using the soft pillowy naan to scoop that first fragrant bite was probably the highlight of my entire week. So well done, Namaste. I'll definitely be returning to try more menu items, and will probably drag several of my friends with me.

Yelp
I did not expect to be eating Indian food while visiting New Orleans and certainly not on a place that had a shared entrance with Subway. I am glad it happened This is East of Canal street and not a fancy place but they have some nice touches. Just go for the food. We had samosa, chili chicken, curry chicken, butter chicken, tiki masala , garlic butter nan and more. We cleaned the plate and were sopping the last bits of gravy with the nan. A great change of pace, easy eating and good food

Yelp
I checked out Namaste Nola on a whim and am so happy I did. Staff were kind and service was quick. The cheese naan was beyond delicious. The Palak Paneer was some of the best I've ever had. It is located in the same main door as subway and was a little difficult to find. I definitely recommend them if you are looking for Indian in NOLA
google avatar

Yelp
Recommend? Yes. This is not a vegan establishment. The items I got are vegan. I got the onion pakoda, the samosa, and 2 of their specials at the time. Washed my food down with a Kingfisher. The beer is actually quite smooth. The onion pakoda and the samosa were delicious. I know the pakoda (pakora in some places) are a common menu item on many Indian menus, but this place really stands out with how thin and crispy they make it. The specials were not my favorite and that's a reflection on my palate not of the restaurant.

Yelp
This place has been on our list to try for a bit and finally went. No regrets! Best Indian food in NOLA IMO. We had the chicken tikka masala, butter naan, lamb chops, and noodles. If you don't like spicy, I would make sure they make it VERY mild. We had medium and it was a good heat for me (& I'm south Indian). Honestly, everything was delicious. Definitely plan to go back! Service was good, seated quickly on a Friday evening. Family friendly & casual.

Yelp
Don't judge a book by it's cover! This somewhat nondescript spot in the CBD was delicious. The street entrance goes to a Subway on the left and Namaste on the right. There is a back entrance too that is closer to the restrooms. We had the samosa chat, navratan korma, and palak paneer plus naan with medium spice. Everything was delicious. And the portion sizes were great. They also have a full bar so I had a tasty old fashioned and my friend had a lovely glass of wine. Service was good and everyone was friendly. I need to get back over to this spot soon!
google avatar

Yelp
This place was so good! I've been eating a lot of Indian food lately and it's definitely one of my faves. It's a little hard to spot but it's next to the Subway on Baronne St. It's very spacious. Service was great! We got to try a couple of different things. Would definitely recommend from their new menu: onion pakoda, samosa, and lamb biryani. Cheese naan wasn't bad just nothing wow about it! I'd rather a regular naan next time. For drinks the lime refresher and mango lassi were good too. I would add ice next time just because it was so hot outside.

Yelp
My husband and I drove down from the Northshore to have dinner at Namaste. They offer a very diverse menu of north and south asian dishes so we were excited to try it all out. Our server, Laura, was attentive, answering all our questions and offering great suggestions we ultimately went with. We ended up ordering the shrimp roast, mango dal, chicken 65 biryani and chicken golguna. We also ordered a garlic nan and roti. Everything was great with the biryani and chicken being standouts. The food was serve super hot (which is not easy to get these days), generous portions and with minimal oil. We will certainly be back to try some of the items that were unfortunately 86ed due to holidays and shirt staffing. A recommendation to call for a reservation and sit in the back part of the restaurant. We did not and had to sit toward the front near the bar. As they share their entrance with a hotel, the doors were opening and closing constantly on one of the colder NOLA nights.

Yelp
The Punjabi Chole was too salty but everything else I've had there has been good. The lamb & goat curries, of course garlic naan, all great and reasonably priced.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food, wonderful mix of flavors, so perfectly balanced. I like spicey, and we were able to chose the level of spice we wanted, from low to high. The service was very attentive, and friendly. I definitely would came back to this place again, and recommend it to anyone who likes, or is wanting to try Indian food.

Yelp
I ordered food from this restuarant through Uber eats so I can't comment on the decor or vibe of the restaurant. This review is purely on the food. I ordered the lamb korma and the chili chicken. What I found very confusing about these two is that the flavor on both were the same. So they using the same sauce or what? Lamb korma - very tiny serving. Not worth the price. The lamb meat was soft but possibly 6 pieces in the curry. The actual curry was terrible. It was definitely not a vindaloo at all. I've had so many vindaloos in my lifetime and this was not great at all. I do not think I will ever order this again Chilli chicken - the spice tasted the same as the vindaloo. The actual chicken pieces were rubbery. The one positive was that the garlic naan was nice. Sadly as much as I was looking forward to this new establishment- it was a bummer and I won't be repeating.

Yelp
It's been exciting to see more Indian restaurants pop up around NOLA especially in the downtown area since many of them are out in Metairie. Namaste Nola just opened up 3 days ago and I was so surprised to see the restaurant so full when we went in the evening. I recommend making a reservation in advance especially since they just started out, they are still figuring out logistically on how to fully operate. We had gobi manchurian, lamb vindaloo, chicken pepper fry, malai kofta, garlic naan, onion kulcha, and peshwari naan. The food was pretty decent. They have an interesting take on vindaloo and the sauce was a bit tangy. However, I thought they made their chicken pepper fry and malai kofta was made really well! The peshwari naan was a bit different compared to other peshwari naans I've had, but the garlic naan and onion kulcha were well made. My friend and I were originally going to go with two dishes and appetizer, but we found the portion sizes a bit small so we ordered a 3rd dish. I think for the price of their dishes and breads, they could serve a bit more. Additionally, I think they are still in the process of figuring out the logistics on how to run the place. Service was a little bit slow, but we spoke with the owners afterwards and they mentioned to us that they haven't had the time yet to hire additional staff so I think once they do, it will improve. Looking forward to seeing how they progress in the upcoming months and hoping to see them thrive especially since they are meeting an unfulfilled niche in NOLA with Indian food!

Yelp
One of the best Indian Restauraunts we have had. Service is quick and the food is amazing!
google avatar

Amy M.

Yelp
Chicken Tikki Masala was ok but I won't be going back due to the service. My coworkers and I ordered To Go, but when we went to pick it up decided we had time to eat there. We asked if we could eat at one of the many empty tables, and they told us no that we had already ordered To Go and had to leave. We didn't want any service or even water, but they still wouldn't allow us to use a table to eat the food we purchased from them. Very odd and they were really rude about it. There's a lot of other great Indian places in the area actually worth your money.

Tanveer C.

Yelp
I am a desi and this is the best Indian Pakistani food I have had in a LONG time. Gaurav was amazing. Naans are authentic. Best chicken curry ever. And it's clean. Run like a proper restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
My boyfriend and I recently ordered delivery from this place and we were pleased to see some cool options that we hadn't tried before like the Samosa Chaat, Gongura Chicken, and Jeera Rice (our personal fave). The food was spicy and aromatic, and the portion sizes were super generous as each entree comes with a side of basmati rice. They also let you choose your preferred spice level for each dish (low, medium, or high), a bonus feature that spice fans can appreciate. 7/10 highly recommend the samosa chaat, jeera rice or gongura chicken~

Yelp
Saw some good reviews and thought to give it a try. Guy at the front desk was a bit rude. Lady walked to me and said he will get me. He was doing random things at the bar area. One of the waitresses seemed to come and take my 'to go' order. The lady sent her back and told me that the customers at the table need help and they will not work if they took my to go order!!! The food came after 20 min wait. Taste was okay- not bad or not good either. Meat was scarce- literally all pieces were mostly bone and 5 small pieces in total. Fish had skin, but otherwise was okay. I will not visit here again. They also charged extra $3 for to go order and .50 cents for butter on the roti!!!

Yelp
Oh my god! The music is so MUZAK! I'm going nuts. I feel like I'm on a phone call on hold from the 1970s. I'm losing my mind! You go in the same door was Subway or in the door to the Wyndham. The bathroom is in the Wyndham. As to the food, I wasn't impressed but one of my BFF's loved it. We ordered 2 appetizers , 3 entrees and 2 breads and I liked 1 appetizer and 1 bread. We are family style and I felt like it was all too hot and not enough goodness. We started with Samosa chat and papdi chat. Samosa chat is described as "A Popular North Indian Snack Made From Crunchy Samosas Served With Spicy Chickpeas Yougrt And Chutneys". It was alright but for me it was too hot. I did however love the papdi chat which is described as "A Popular South Indian Dish Made With Fried Flour Crackers, Chick Peas, Potatoes, Served With Yogurt And Chutneys." In fact I liked this enough I'd go back Just for this. For our entrees we ordered vegetable korma which is "Vegetables Cooked With Creamy Cashew Nut Sauce And Indian Spices". Once again it was imo too hot. We got the dal makhani which is "Slow Cooked Black Lentil Stew Tempered With Ginger, Garlic, Tomatoes And Chef Special Spices". It was good but set my mouth on fire. Finally, we got bhindi masala which is always a hit with me but once again I'd was too hot. It's described as "Stir Fried Okra Cooked With Onions, Tomatoes, Herbs And Spices." Normally I can put my meal on my naan and it cold it off enough to eat, but not so here. The naan was good. My friend ordered Roti and I didn't try it. The service was alright but nothing special,

Kelly M.

Yelp
Takeout. Service delivery was very good as was the food. Ordered the buttered chicken and it was really good. Not the best I have ever had (that would be Indian Palace in Memphis) though.

Yelp
Omg!! The food was sooo good. Cute, small restaurant but the food packs big flavors. Smelled it from outside and it just draws you in. The butter chicken is delicious!!!
google avatar

Christina N.

Yelp
The food was delicious! My friend ordered saag paneer with garlic naan and I ordered the veggie samosas, bhindi masala with roti. I like my food very spicy and they made it to my liking. The service was great! The waitress was very nice and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants to n Nola! Truly. The food is exceptional, service is warm and friendly. This will not be a one time place for you, promise!

Yelp
Delicious! Loved the Mango Dal & Samosas. Great service and really great food. Nice inside.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious and flavorful. Portions are perfect. The butter chicken was very flavorful and mild. They were out of chai which was a bummer but the food was good. The restaurant itself was fairly quiet but a nice.
google avatar

Christina A.

Yelp
Everything was delicious! From the Aloo Gobi, to the Samosa Chaat, to the Vegetable Korma- we really enjoyed all the dishes. In addition to the flavors, the portion size, and price were impressive. You're not gonna find something with such great value n the CBD/FQ area. The atmosphere made us feel like we were being taken care of by a family member. They just opened, so be willing to be patient with the kind staff, it's worth it in the end.

Yelp
Yesterday, I took a chance on an Indian restaurant I hadn't experienced before. It's not conveniently located for me, but I had been thinking about visiting this place for a while. Well, it did not disappoint. Though the ambiance is warm, cozy, and very inviting, I ordered to go. I asked about samosas, which aren't listed on the menu, but are available for purchase. I got an order of those, as well as Chana Saag, garlic naan, and a side of tamarind chutney. I wanted the rice kheer, but unfortunately, this item isn't ordered often, so sadly, it won't be offered. Anyway, this meal was amazing. The flavors were rich and the textures were perfect. My naan was a little chewy, but I believe that was likely due to being wrapped up and cooling in the condensation of that wrap in the wait period until I got to it. I also had Indian chai tea (a lovely touch) Overall, this meal was *chef's kiss* exceptional. I will absolutely be going back. I would absolutely bring friends. It's made my list of favorites. So glad I stopped in.

Sydney R.

Yelp
Absolute best Indian food I have ever had. Garlic naan and navrathan korma were delicious. Mango lassi was perfect. Chicken 65 was best I've ever had, delicious spices, very crispy, and the meat was very tender. Service was wonderful, very friendly and helpful. Beautiful place.

Patrick B.

Yelp
Amazing spot, great service and great food. Forgot my credit card there too and they saved it for me the next day, great people.
google avatar

James L.

Yelp
Wandered in to escape the rain. It was beautiful and simple The smell was entrancing so I ordered. I had the cheese naan and a Briyani. I was blown away by how fresh everything was. Felt like they chopped up all this just for me. The folks were also incredibly kind. I left full and happy. The end
google avatar

Lissa W.

Yelp
First, the waitress, Maria, was amazing!!! Food took a little longer for such a simple order of Chicken Makhani, Samosas, and Naan. The reason for only the three star rating is that the makhani sauce was much too salty. Adding two tiny (three teaspoons) containers of cream did help, but they charged $1.00 for each one. I should have just returned the entree if it needed help to get it to an edible point. The place is clean, bright, and staff is friendly.

S S.

Yelp
Service was great! Food was amazing but portions were small. Need slightly bigger portions!
google avatar

Yelp
I was in town for a odesza concert and had to stop by this place due to the fact I could smell it blocks away! I had the chicken tikka masala and butter naan then a gulab for dessert everything was fresh and delicious 10/10 recommend if you love Indian food. Service was also very very pleasant.
google avatar

Shivang M.

Yelp
This is definitely the most welcoming Indian Restaurant I have been to in a long time. This is within walking distance from Canal street and one block away from The Roosevelt Hotel in Downtown New Orleans. The food is delicious and fresh. Ask chefs to make it spicy and they will deliver. We had Gobi Manchurian, Chilli Chicken, and Samosa Chat for appetizers, and for the main course Malai Kofta and Chicken Chettinad (this was spicy and delicious). Go to an Indian restaurant and not try Mango Lassi that's not possible. I highly recommend trying Namaste Nola next time you looking for Indian food.
google avatar

Marcella E.

Yelp
Very very good food. Genuinely delicious. Price is relatively reasonable for quality. But the service was awful. We waited almost 20 before our orders were taken and 40 before food arrived after that. It was ridiculous. They didn't even give us a server for some reason and had the hostess who was upper busy fill in. Also she watched while I tipped which was SUPER uncomfortable. Overall, great food but awful service.
google avatar

A H.

Yelp
The food was actually good, even though there wasn't much chicken in the actual chicken dishes. However, my main issue was the overall service. They were very cold and unwelcoming! We had to ask several times for napkins and they give us like two. Then we asked someone else and they never brought us any. Very bad service and acted like they were being inconvenienced when we asked for something. Great location but we definitely won't return!
google avatar

Tiffany F.

Yelp
I'm giving this place four stars even though it was very slow because the food was so good. We tried the malai kofta and aloo gobi, both of which were amazing and the perfect amount of spice. I feel bad because I used StoreFront by Doordash to order, and there was no place to leave a tip. Have some cash if you're going to do that. They seemed to only have one server/cashier, and a couple of other people were waiting for food, so order early. I like that they have a lot of vegetarian options, and I want to try them all!
google avatar

Amina H.

Yelp
Paneer butter masala was great. Food took quite a while even while it was empty but it all ended up tasting good. Different than a lot of other Indian places I've tried, definitely worth checking out

Yelp
Visiting NOLA and came to Namaste NOLA on a recommendation. My husband loves Indian Cruisine and this establishment had a wonderful selection. We were there at an odd hour, some time between lunch and dinner and we were welcomed graciously. We had the Butter Chicken and Chicken Korma. Both were delicious and just the right amount of spiciness and tasted fresh. As an accompaniment hubby had the Butter Naan and I had the Onion Kulcha which is a favorite of mine and I loved every bite. (I would go back just for more of the Kulcha) The pricing was fair and typical of other Indian restaurants I have been to. Everything was clean and seating was comfortable.

Yelp
Heavenly food, excellent service! For NOLA locals, this is a welcome addition to the CBD landscape. Delicious, reasonably priced food served up with love-- what could be better?? Not pictured here... because I ate it so quickly...Rasam, a spicy, light (not stew-like) tomato based soup that has just the right amount of kick. Paneer pakora--fried cheese? Yes, please! The Mother's Day special included a delicious semolina pudding that I am still thinking about. There are two nice couch areas which beg for a return trip just to sip chai and read a book. Did I mention the food is so, so, so good? Because it is.

Yelp
Nestled on the base level of the Wyndham Hotel on Baronne Street between the hotel entrance and a Subway(eat fresh) is this little hidden gem of deliciousness. I've been smelling the aroma of the Namaste Nola restaurant since the moment I arrived in New Orleans. Everyday I would leave my hotel and think "man this place smells like heaven on earth!" but my focus was on trying the Cajun and southern cuisine that the Big Easy had to offer being that it was my first trip to Louisiana. Finally, on my last night in town after a full day of partying I noticed the lights were on. By this time I had reached my marginal satisfaction on the southern/fried/cajun/spicy and was looking for something a little different. The food here is packed with so many flavors and you can taste the love and time that Chef Sudha put into every dish. I fell in love with the texture and all the mouthwatering flavors of the dishes instantaneously. We had the chicken tikka masala with some white rice along with some delicious garlic/buttery naan that favored homemade tortillas as well as another chicken dish with a brownish cashew sauce. Trust me when I tell you that there's no other place to get great service and Indian food as savory like Namaste Nola. In a city catered to the history of its people and residence, Namaste stands alone when it comes to fine dining if you're in a mood for something different and healthier. We sat on the restaurant and spoke with Roni, the queen of the restaurant and Kamud, who I'm going to assume is the King. They were both very welcoming and amazing individuals. We were initially greeted by Kamud w a big smile and he was very patient as I've never tried Indian food prior to this night. Roni then took over and prepared a table for us to sit and also a few tips on her favorite dishes on the menu. What was meant to be a quick dining stop turned into an interesting and somewhat educational experience. We sat and talked about many walks of life even after the restaurant had closed. What started out as a business transaction quickly became what felt like a family gathering. I couldn't have asked for a better experience while trying a new style of food for the first time. It was a perfect way to end the night and the trip in its entirety. Our left overs were even more flavorful the following morning. I will def add Indian food on my list of favorites and will now continue to seek out other places here in LA until I can get back to New Orleans. I want to send a very big thanks again to Roni, Kumud and Chef Sudha and everyone else at Namaste for changing my life in the manner of which they did. Never planned on taking another run at the city until I met the people aforementioned, because of you all I WILL BE BACK! 6 stars!!! The food was devoured before we could take pictures but I digress! Next time I'll make sure to pray and snap some shots before had. Oh and I like maps!

Yelp
The food in this Indian eatery is some of the best you will find outside of the "world's largest democracy". On par with the best food you will find in London UK. The chicken tikka masala is juicy perfection cooked in the tandoori oven. Then "braised" in a perfect blend of spices all awakened by just the right amount of heat. Heat here is used as an "ingredient", as it should be, not just placed into the dish as an expectation for "Indian food". The Saag Paneer contained a complex blending of flavors married to soft, creamy, cubes of "farmer's cheese". The breads are lovingly made expressions of perfect spices and fresh ingredients complimenting the kitchen's flavorful fare. Service is friendly and attentive, but the space's atmosphere lacks direction and identity. I am sure the young owners of this restaurant will find a suitable motif to compliment their outstanding food/menu.

Yelp
Great food at a great price managed and operated by a family. The vegetarian options along with the menu items are amazing. I have tried 9-10 dishes and the quality of the food along with its consistency is marvelous. If not one of the best, it's the best Indian restaurant in Louisiana. Great job guys

Yelp
Solid Indian restaurant that has a lot of potential as the food is really good w/ a lot of options for both carnivores & vegetarians. However, the service is slow, seating is limited, and construction was being done in the kitchen on a Saturday night which made it impossible for guests to even converse over dinner. Additional time to get everything in order relative to construction & staff hiring could make this restaurant great.
