Nestled in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, this cozy spot serves up Caribbean-inspired ramen alongside pizza and bagels, all in a chill, plant-filled vibe.
"Smoke Ramen If you’re planning on spending time in Prospect Park, make eating the jerk ramen at Mo’s Original a part of your plan. This PLG spot smokes everything from the broth itself to the chicken they serve inside it, and it’ll make you dream up more Japanese-Caribbean mashup dishes. With its big sidewalk patio covered in vintage school chairs and wooden desks, Mo’s is the kind of small neighborhood spot where you’ll want to order “the regular” after your boss asks you to join a 6pm conference call." - nikko duren
"It seems third (fourth?) times the charm for a neighborhood restaurant in Prospect Lefferts Gardens. In 2019, Mo’s Original opened at 453 Rogers Avenue, at Lincoln Road, serving Caribbean-inflected ramen. By 2020, the team expanded next door with a bar called Anything. Slowly, the menu at Mo’s began to change, adding bagels and other items. In 2022, it changed its name to Names, and focused on pizza, due to a cease and desist from Moe’s Original BBQ, a Southern restaurant chain. Now, the business is changing things up again: Names is no more, and Anything, its sibling bar, will expand to take over both storefronts. Select bites will still be available, but the dual spaces are counter-service only, as of the change that went into effect last week." - Emma Orlow
"Names used to be called , and they used to specialize in funky, Caribbean-inspired ramen. Now they also serve funky pizza, but they still have ramen. Oh, and they also make towering . In other words, this large corner spot in Prospect Lefferts Garden is doing a lot. But whether you get a pizza or a bagel, and whether you sit in the plant-filled dining room or at a big table outside, Names is great for a relaxed evening with friends when nobody wants to take the train anywhere. The standard pizzas are already very saucy and cheesy, but try something funkier, like the Dirty Crab, which has crab, miso ricotta, and crab chips. We spent a few days trying to figure out if we actually liked it, before deciding we definitely did, and must go again. They also own the bar next door, so post-dinner drinks are handled. "“Mo’s Original in Prospect Lefferts Gardens recently started making everything bagels. So naturally I took some leftover Benton’s smoked ham from & Sons and draped it over one. It was like a Tale Of Two Takeouts.” -Nikko Duren, Staff Writer" - team infatuation
"This jerk ramen spot in PLG is now offering large format rum punch, dark and stormys, and painkillers for pickup from 12pm to 10pm daily." - nikko duren
