Naples15 is an institution— Period . I have been here several times in the last few years and I have never left a review . I was in the mood for a Neapolitan style pizza and a cocktail and decided to pay Naples a visit . I was not expecting to get a reservation last minute as usually this place is booked up but i was in luck so i took it ! Upon arrival the hostess greeted me and let me know my table would be ready in five ten minutes . Place was extra busy which is not unusual. It is that good ! So please make reservations in advance. The pizza is extraordinarily good and authentic . Transports you to Italy with the ingredients and depth of flavors . The crust has the traditional dough with just the right amount of char on the outside . I got #7 Pizza Capricciosa : mozzarella & San Marzano base with black olives mushrooms artichokes and beautiful thick bacon . Unbeatable . They also offer their pizzas with gluten free crust options and during another visit it is lacking the char bubble but the toppings are just the same and perfect for gluten free customers . Pasta menu is extensive but always on par with authentic flavors . Gluten free pasta is also available. Service is always very good although they could need some help especially on crowded days like today . They do a great job the staff . I will continue to come to Naples15 as it is a jewel for the restaurant scene in Madison . Keep up the great work.

Google
The pizza was excellent, and the eggplant parmesan was delicious. They make their pasta fresh from scratch. Our server Abby was very sweet and gave us top-notch service! We can't wait to go back.

Google
Naples 15 totally blew me away. I had the steak, and lobster ravioli, and honestly, it was the best I’ve ever had. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced — you could really taste the quality. The vibe is super warm and authentic, and the staff made us feel right at home. The best Italian in the country no doubt. I’ll definitely be back!

Google
We had a delightful dinner at Naples 15. Chef Salvatore and the team was very hospitable and made us feel like family. The food was delicious! Some of the best pizza I’ve had and the steak packed incredible flavor. Excited to be back

If you haven't been here, you have been missing out! What a great place. I love that the owner is active and visible at the restaurant. Will be back over and over again....give it a shot, you wont regret it. The only reason I gave a 4 star for service is the lack of wine knowledge of our server.....she had limited knowledge on the wine selections.

Google
Naples 15 is well renowned in Madison, and for good reason too! We had a reservation on a Tuesday night, and would definitely recommend having a reservation to avoid possible wait times. Everyone in my family loved their entrees! I had the Ziti with a ragú sauce and it was one of the best pasta dishes i’ve ever had! Every dish truly feels authentic to the chefs story and vision of bringing Naples to Wisconsin! It is definitely a little pricey, but overall worth the price in our opinion!!

Google
The best Italian I've ever had..even better than what I had in Italy! The service at Naples 15 is fantastic and the atmosphere is as authentic Italian as it gets. Sal, the owner is an absolute wonderful person and comes around and checks on everyone making sure they are enjoying their experience. Sal and the staff truly care about you and makes sure your are enjoying your evening. I highly recommend you eat here!!

Google
This is the best meal experience I have ever had! The attention paid to our party was incredible but the food was phenomenal. Chef Sal spent so much time with us with toast after toast and has made a whole group of new friends. I cannot say enough…

Yelp
Naples 15 totally blew me away. I had the steak and lobster ravioli, and honestly, it was the best I've ever had. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced -- you could really taste the quality. The energy is super warm and authentic, Sal and the staff made us feel right at home. If you're in the Madison area and love high quality dining and a personable, warm vibe. Naples is the place to be!

Yelp
This restaurant is an incredible experience with great food - win win! Highly recommend checking Naples 15 out. I'm surprised it doesn't have a higher rating on here and that many people I know who have lived in Madison for way longer than me had never even heard of it! I only discovered it when I specifically searched for nice restaurants that could accommodate both vegetarian and gluten-free restrictions. They were very accommodating - lots of Italian dishes can be vegetarian, and Naples 15 has most of their pastas with a gluten-free version. I came here for my birthday with a group of 5 and we all loved it. Our favorite dish was the buffalo pizza, which was surprising. It was so good though! This place has an old school vibe, dimly lit, candles, waiter service, you know the deal. It's right downtown (but we were able to find street parking nearby!). A good idea to call ahead to make a reservation, was pretty busy!

Yelp
If you want an authentic place to visit, benvenuto all Napoli. You'll know immediately where the warmth of the staff comes from as soon as you meet the owner and Monzu Chef, Salvatore Di Scala. Allow yourself a thoughtless night by doing the Chefs Menu, or wander the streets of Ischia and Napoli by selecting alla carte dishes. Couldn't believe how much this place reminded me of Italy, and the home I had there when I was backpacking Europe.

Yelp
I have traveled extensively in Italy and this is the best approximation of the Neapolitan standard for quality sourced ingredients. The depth of cooking here tops anything I have seen. The best Burata, tomatoes, fresh salad greens, seafood and boar are second to none. I ate here twice and was astonished by the waitstaff, Chef Salvatore, and truly extraordinary meals, end to end!

Ell W.

Yelp
Great Italian the best in Madison. Highly recommend when you want Italian cuisine. Party of 75 for business was great experience.

Alison F.

Yelp
Stranded in a back corner and completely ignored, this was not an enjoyable dinner. Decent martini and ok the pizza is superb. Waiter pushed us on entrees which were enormous. We prefer a shared plate or smaller course dinner so this just wasn't for us. My $75 sea bass came out 10 minutes after the other food because it was prepared incorrectly with shellfish which I don't eat and had explained when we sat down. And the wine list. Give me a break! This is Madison, WI! Totally unreasonable and obnoxious. Did I mention that our waiter ignored us and I had to ask 3 people for water?

Torrentsdeath Z.

Yelp
Great experience, cozy environment, friendly staff, and amazing food! Best margherita pizza I have tried! Highly recommend this place!!
google avatar

Alexandra N.

Yelp
The calamari and the lobster ravioli were both absolutely delish! I'd definitely go back to try a pizza or another pasta dish.

Mia C.

Yelp
Pricey but nice for special occasions! The staff is always super friendly! The portions are large so come hungry! Loved the pollo alla salvatore with the small slices of pear!
google avatar

Dean E.

Yelp
Ambiance was incredible, service was spot on, menu was a bit too large and made it confusing to order. Food was decent but the portions were very large which took away from the flavor and by the time you were nearly done with half the food, it was lukewarm. Pretty good experience overall, ended up taking home lots of leftovers.

Atham A.

Yelp
Extremely subpar Italian food. Not worth the price and our receipt came with a list of different service charges (service charge does not include the tip). Save yourself the time, go elsewhere and thank me later. Don't even think about this place.
google avatar

Alyssa R.

Yelp
Very welcoming to large parties. The waitress started off amazing- checked in often and very helpful with the menu. There were a few parties and she kept getting sidetracked chatting with everyone. The pasta needed to be cooked a min longer, it was just shy of al dente. The veal was overcooked, couldn't cut easily with a knife. Very happy with the dining area, but the prices were just not worth it.

Yelp
Took my son a group of his high school friends to Naples after a Badger game. They had a couple other places they wanted to try for pizza that we couldn't get in. I said " trust me , the pizza here is legit." Best Italian food in Madison but also a real deal Neapolitan pizza oven. Ordered several. My fav is the Margarita. Best part was we snagged the metal table out front while the restaurant was packed.
google avatar

Sho R.

Yelp
I took out dinner from here. I was really there to try their fried pizza. Somehow by the time I finished my order, due to some misunderstanding, I ended up getting a regular pizza. May be I should go some other time to try the fried pizza. I ended up getting rocket and parmesan with artichoke, onion and tomato. It was a good pizza. Artichoke topping was good, defenitely better than any I tried in Madison. I also went for a baba dessert. It was a nice milky, creamy bread kind of dessert. May be it has resemblence to ras malai.

Yelp
This is was unbelievable. It was so noisy we could hardly hear our waitress. For some reason the owner came to our table & tried to sell our host $590 bottle of wine. He passed. Then he brought out another bottle of wine we knew that was a good wine for much less and was told only one bottle He pours 3 of our group a good pour, which emptied the bottle then order's another bottle without our consent. He not only pours our other 3, but pours himself a glass. They brought out 2 different salads, calamari & a pasta dish. We said no more. The bill was $1700!. Not worth it at all!!!
google avatar

Ryan M.

Yelp
This is a legit Italian gem! The owner Sal was absolutely fantastic. He's the chef and all I can say is he knows how to cook! His staff was super knowledgeable and great to have taking care of us. We tried almost everything on the menu and it was all amazing! I'll be back for sure.

Yelp
I came with a large group and on a date, both times the restaurant made significant substitutions that downgraded my meal without telling me or charging less. Once my wine was substituted with a much worse bottle and once my pastry dessert turned into angel cake. The service has been good as has the atmosphere but they clearly cut corners!

Christopher J.

Yelp
It was an absolutely unforgettable experience from the start. The greeting at the door to desert. Every dish and every glass paired perfect. Favorites were the chef's suggestion of the chilean sea bass and the bistecca ala Florentina. Lobster ravioli was right up there for the best as well. Rigitoni ala Salvatore with truffles and caciocavallo podolico was absolutely up there as well! We paired this dinner we two wonderful from the superb wine list with so many great wines! Desert was baba and cannolli and chef gave us a complimentary cafe napoletana to top a perfect experience. I totally understand why this is the place the come to celebrate. Can't wait to coke back.

Yelp
Can't go wrong looking for good Italian in Madison. The owner may do shots with you if you talk to him. Grazzie!

Yelp
Ugh! Had 6 p.m. reservation and waited outside in the cold for over an hour! Our party of eight had three people 80+ yrs. old! Totally unacceptable. Food was great but due to ridiculous wait, especially given we had reservations, we will never return.

Yelp
For how much you're spending, you would expect better food, but will most likely leave disappointed. Cool atmosphere but that's about it

Yelp
How did I not know this restaurant existed?! I've lived in Madison for ten years now and did not learn about this restaurant until a friend mentioned it was their date night spot. After visiting Italy this past year we fell in love with the food and were so excited to try this place out. We made a reservation for 5pm when they opened which I highly recommend! We were immediately seated and the server was spectacular. I loved reading about the history of the restaurant and the owner as well. Now, to the food. I ordered a caprese salad and the lobster ravioli. Both of them were the best I've ever had. My partner had a different pasta dish and the tomato sauce was so flavorful and perfect. The wine recommendations were also great. It is a little pricey but for the quality it is 100% worth it! We've now added it to our date night restaurant rotation.

Pam H.

Yelp
Overpriced, loud, service was unattentive and the food was sub par. Caprese salad was way too much basil, two sliced cherry tomatoes and a burrata that did not seem like a fresh burrata. And that was $37.90 for 2! Would have never gotten them! We had two pizzas. one was sausage and broccolini, which tasted like kitchen cleaner and the fried calzone which was more dough than anything else. The menus were dated and tacky. As for the wine list, way overpriced wines! What upset me the most was the unattentiveness of the wait staff. I could see it in the tables around me too. This was definitely not a place I would return to considering the price.

Yelp
It is indeed a rare honor for a chef to be recognized as the best in the world, a title bestowed by their discerning guests. This draws patrons from across America to celebrate this exceptional talent. Thus, I find no surprise in this remarkable achievement. Chef Salvatore Di Scala you made this award happen for Naples 15 and are keeping them in a solid spot on the map In the Italian restaurant world.
google avatar

Michelle C.

Yelp
It is pricey AF, hot as h@&), and crowded. They're really lean into plastering their walls with a bunch of famous Italian Americans lol. But dang the pasta is so good and so loaded. Maybe not the most worth it but it is an Experience. Expect to be overwhelmed by the menu. It's fun to read about the chef's life and story in the menu and what kind of cuisine you're eating. Definitely fun to try once, but maybe won't be revisiting!

Cecil M.

Yelp
While visiting Madison with family, I had a craving for the Margherita pizza at Naples 15. I thought they closed at 11 PM, but when we arrived around 10 PM, they were already shutting down. Being in the restaurant industry myself, I understand the importance of respecting closing time and offered to return the next day. However, Chef Di Scala, embodying true hospitality, wouldn't hear of it. He personally prepared our meal, and not only was the food exceptional, but the service was equally outstanding. We can't wait to return the next time we're in town. Grazie mille, Chef and Brady!

H S.

Yelp
Whenever I visited Madison this would be a must stop. Was there yesterday and was flabbergasted by the pricing. While I understand that inflation has driven prices up but charging $75 for an entre that consists of a piece of fish and two scallops and a side of arugula??? Ridiculous. These prices are higher than top end Italian places in Chicago. Lesson learnt - no more business dinners at this place. Would rather go to a steakhouse where spending that kind of money may make sense.

Marie Anne G.

Yelp
Can't say enough about this restaurant we came again to sharing. another wonderful evening . We ate here many times and always we love it more each time the atmosphere the food and friendly welcome welcone is what brought us back. Our servers were outstanding and chef was an amazing singer that made our time an absolute blast. We take the chef made for my family a fabulous dinner We are so glad to choose a chef table menu which is a ballet of flavors Highly recommend this place.for any occasion We can't wait to came back

Jill P.

Yelp
I have been dining here for years and haven't been in a year or so. I know inflation is an issue but the prices are insane. We wanted to order a bottle of wine and I couldn't find one less than $90, so when the waiter suggested the wine of the day I figured it was a house wine. I was shocked to see it was $155! The food was mediocre at best. This is not the cozy Madison restaurant it used to be and these prices are higher than NYC. I am not sure what happened but will not be returning.

Yelp
Came in spontaneously after having a disappointing meal elsewhere. Naples 15 was hopping on a Wednesday night with a special event and all the tables were full. We snagged a spot at the bar and had the best pizza, "Sausage & Master Greens" which I always ask for with a sprinkle of truffle oil and the "Rigatoni alla Salvatore". Both were delicious as always. Truly my favorite meal. Chef Salvatore was in the house and as gracious as always. Love it here!

XO S.

Yelp
This my first time at Naples 15. I have worked in Naples for many years and Naples 15 is the most authentic neopolitan restaurant I have ever visited. Naples 15 has an amazing wine list and I have had the pleasure of trying Tempos Vega Sicilia unico, one of the best Spanish ones I've ever had. Thank you chef Salvatore Di Scala for the amazing experience! This is an incredibly special restaurant! Bow I understand why Tony Bennett loves this place!

Erik E.

Yelp
The food and ambiance at Naples is unmatched. It feels like you are sitting is Chef Salvatore's personal dining room and getting treated like you are part of his Italian family. I can't wait until I return again to try more of the menu items they offer. Thanks for a great evening!

Grayson L.

Yelp
Place is amazing. Our server Grayson was the star of the show. He recommended the chefs special menu. All the dishes came with a bit of history and spunk. The best was Chilean sea bass and I forgot what it was called but this little potato with cream sauce and prosciutto. Ask for Grayson he truly makes the experience unforgettable. Great ambiance too.

Kelly J.

Yelp
Wonderful service, superb food, flavors that are undeniable, welcoming staff, cozy environment.

Katherine J.

Yelp
We took a trip to Italy last year and this place made me feel like we were back there! The food was amazing! I loved the atmosphere and the personal touches throughout the restaurant. Salvatore, the owner and master chef is amazing! Makes you feel like a family. Would definitely go back!

Yelp
i heard a lot of hype about this place and i have to say that while the food was excellent, the ambiance of the restaurant was a bit of a letdown. it does seem to give you the "full italian restaurant experience" if that's what you're interested in - something not as upscale. you can only make a reservation by phone which is kinda annoying. we were seated in a tall table in the corner, and there was a massive party in front of us who was obscenely loud and i could easily hear every word of their conversations. felt like we were seated too close to other parties. and honestly, the restaurant feels like you're in somebody's basement which I don't love, especially when there are entrees on the menu that are $75. i suspect that prices are so high because they import the seafood quickly in order to keep it fresh - because where else can you get seafood while in the midwest??? the menu was extremely overwhelming and busy with stories about the restaurant and its history - i didn't love that either. our server was nice and did a great job, but i would've appreciated more constant check in and refill of waters. for food, we got the frutti di mare which is a combination of diff seafoods - very good and fresh and it does feel like you're sitting next to the ocean. the bread (which came out later than I would've liked) was great to dip in the sauce. the lobster ravioli was my favorite dish, but the inside lobster kinda reminds me of cheese or like a baklava lmao. very very tasty though. pizza was also good but nothing that impressed me all that much. overall, it was an expensive meal that didn't totally feel worth it in price but the food was very good

Lawrence B.

Yelp
The food is very good. However, keep an eye on your wallet as the owner and his servers will substitute items until your bill is increased tremendously. it's also a very loud restaurant. Not a great place for an intimate dinner. Plenty of other options.

Yelp
Unreal experience for UW Madison's Graduation. But not in a a good way. Had a reservation but when I arrived around 15 minutes before my reservation time, I stood for about 30 minutes at the host stand waiting to be addressed. A line/group of around 100 people (you may think I am exaggerating but trust me I am low balling it) formed behind me. We became a mob with one united goal: can someone get the host's attention and find out what is going on. I don't know if they were under staffed, overbooked or just completely unprepared but the restaurant seemed to be in complete disarray. Eventually I did manage to talk to a host/manager (by essentially cornering them) and they checked me in. Everyone else behind me just wanted to cancel their reservations because they had enough. They could not leave because the restaurant would charge their cards if they didn't show up for their reservation. Wild! Once I sat down, the dinner was pretty good, albeit definitely overpriced ($99 per person for a 6 course meal). I thought a while about writing a review because I was sure someone else would (and having all those people cancel their reservations surely amounted to an insane loss in revenue) but decided to anyway. Don't think I'll be back or recommend this place to anyone. DiNero pics in the front are 100% a tourist trap, you can do better.

Simon R.

Yelp
Went to Naples 15 with my whole family for my mother's birthday! We had the chef's menu and every dish that was brought to the table was incredible. My mother had the Tesoro del mare as well and it was the most spectacular display of seafood I have ever seen. They also have a very impressive selection of wine, many of which are very rare and hard to find. Chef Salvatore made the whole experience a night to remember!

Unni K.

Yelp
Never left a Yelp review before. That was easily the single worst meal I've ever had at a restaurant. We attended the UW Grad celebration prix fix meal. It started with a reservation that we were finally seated for 45 minutes late. What followed were 6 courses that got worse and worse, outside in a tent with a spectacular number of insect dining companions. I would steer clear in the future. Shout out the wait staff who tried to make the best of a bad situation. Very sad to see such poor quality control in this restaurant.

Yelp
3.5 stars. Brought my Soldiers here. The service was really stellar. All the food though was just ok. Kinda typical American-Italian food. I had 3 different pastas, pizza, calamari, some kind of potato-based appetizer, 4 different desserts, and wine. The calamari was the best thing. It was actually quite good. But all the rest of it was just ok.

Alexander M.

Yelp
I've traveled all over the world, and I love Italian food. This has surpassed every single restaurant I've ever eaten at. Since the time I have walked in, I've felt the vibe of an authentic old school Italian restaurant. I traveled to Naples, Italy and I can say this was just like that. it's even better of that. We started with the Neapolitan Margarita pizza. we then wood oven baked Calamari. I then had the best spaghetti with clams, and my friend had the ribeye on the bone, Florentine steak. For dessert, we had baba and canoli. Can't wait to come back and try other dishes on the menu. I highly recommend!

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
The restaurant was not busy, but there was strange pacing at every stage of our Naples15 experience. As soon as we were seated, the server asked for our order. We asked for a few minutes to look at the menu. He sniffed, and disappeared for twenty minutes, evidently punishing us. One of us hunted him down eventually and gave him our order. It arrived forty five minutes later. The service was ungracious and the portions small. Water, dessert menu? You had to ask. I've visited Italy and am aware their restaurants don't have the American "doggie bag" size portions, but these were tiny. As for the food itself, it was adequate, but by no means as delicious as the bill would imply. You can do better elsewhere. And we have.

Ufuk B.

Yelp
Naples 15 will take you to Naples, Italy without leaving from Madison. Look, What a fantastic Pizza! It was so wonderful to celebrate #verapizzaday , The National day of Pizza. This was the best pizza ever in my life! Amazing ambiance!

Yelp
A group of 8 of us dined at Naples 15 prior to a concert. From the moment we made our reservation we experienced friendly, helpful staff. Our server was attentive but not overbearing. At one point the owner came out to greet each table, provided us with bottle of champagne on the house, and took photos with us. They accommodated separate checks, which I appreciated. For dinner I had the Loch Duart Salmon Alla Puttanesca. It was good, although I wasn't necessarily wowed by the dish given the price point (approx. $43). My husband had the scallop dish, and shared similar sentiments about his meal. The others I dined with also enjoyed their meals, but we all found prices to be high. It's worth noting that the prices noted in their online menu have been raised, although I certainly don't blame a restaurant for raising prices given the increased cost of food.

Cynthia F.

Yelp
The bread that comes with the burrata has crack in it haha! I got a pizza with arugula on it and I munched on every piece of it until there were no crumbs left! Calzone was a little too bready for my liking but besides that everything was great.
google avatar

Jasmin L.

Yelp
Yeah, it was great and they were awesome working with my party of 20 and letting us make a custom menu

Yelp
I appreciate that Naples 15 is open on Monday nights, but my latest visit on a Monday did not match the excellence of my past visits. Of the three different dishes our table ordered none were anything to return for. Needless to say, the dishes were disappointing. The Naples salad (spinach, strawberry, orange) was slim on fruit and heavy on pepper. The Margherita pizza was bland. We would have loved to see more basil and perhaps seasoning in the tomatoes. The linguine with lemon & seafood seemed more like spaghetti to me. The seafood was good but I couldn't get past the spaghetti(?). Is it because it was Monday? Is it because the executive chef was in Italy? Not sure why my experience didn't stack up this time....

Yelp
It is always a treat to dine at Naples 15 in Madison, WI! We started dining here when my husband started bringing me here for my birthday every year. He knew it was my favorite restaurant, and that I absolutely loved the atmosphere. We love being wined, and dined by, Salvatore! He is an incredible chef! Everything comes directly from Italy- from the wine, to the pasta, to the flour for the pizzas, to the tomatoes. My favorite is the imported Buffalo cheese, wow, it is DELICIOUS!!! Naples 15 is a true authentic experience that must be experienced by EVERYONE! It is not a surprise that Naples 15 was voted as the Best Authentic Neapolitan Restaurant in America this year!!
