Super sweet & tiny hole-in-the-wall gelato shop, just a short walk from Clapham Common station. Since the pandemic, they've started to only accept card payments, and the interior- small though it was to begin with- is no longer available; but with the park right across the street, you've got plenty of space in which to enjoy your high-quality dessert.
Who cares about the space, really? The question is: Is it good? The answer is: Hell yes it is!
They have a pretty sizable array of gourmet flavors available, from your typical Tiramisu to Pistachio, and Salted Caramel to Fig, (with some difficult-to-pronounce ones that I won't even try to remember). All are amazing! I got myself a smooth & decadent coffee-flavored scoop on a cone for £3.50, and let me tell you, I've rarely had better. The texture is everything you could want from gelato, with that rich thickness you can only get from the good stuff; these guys must have spent years honing their craft. The taste was legit, as well, with a smooth, yet robust coffee flavor that lingers on your tongue without leaving that burnt-coffee aftertaste. Speaking of good java, they also serve coffee here. While I didn't have any, myself, I could tell from the delicious aroma, that they're probably serving that up properly, too.
I would give this place 5 stars for the quality of the gelato alone, but the whole "card-only" policy is beginning to wear thin on my patience, as there are plenty of shops still using cash, and they're fine. I would understand if the people serving your gelato were the same ones ringing you up, but when I was there, they had a guy in charge of doing that while the other staff members attended to customers. Still, most people in this city like the convenience of only using cards, so that may not even be a problem for you. I highly recommend this place, either way. Just get ready for a queue.
