At this cozy Peruvian gem tucked behind a 7-Eleven, the ceviche and arroz chaufa steal the show, served with a side of warm hospitality.
"As with the rest of the group of popular Peruvian restaurants in Hollywood—Mario's, Inti, and Los Balcones—Natalie's is a relaxed sit-down spot where you can pop in for a plate of ceviche for lunch or dinner, made here with dark-yellow-almost-orange leche de tigre with a bit of ají chili that makes our nose tickle after each bite. But the real star of Natalie’s menu is their arroz chaufa, the Peruvian take on Chinese fried rice. We always go with the Especial a la Natalie, a surf-and-turf situation with grilled shrimp, squid, octopus, mussels, beef, and chicken, all folded into eggy rice seasoned with a healthy splash of soy sauce. There's also a second location in Glendale." - sylvio martins, brant cox
"Whether you’re in the mood for a light seafood lunch or some of our favorite fried rice around, Natalie’s Peruvian Seafood Restaurant offers plenty of both with two locations in Hollywood and Glendale. The menu’s ceviche mixto comes with the usual fish, shrimp, and squid, but it’s the salad’s sour marinade that makes it worth immediately peeling off the 101 Freeway for. The leche de tigre, which is a mixture of lemon juice and assorted spices, comes in a beautiful dark-yellow-almost-orange color with a bit of ají chili that makes us pucker up after each bite. The ceviche then receives its boiled potatoes, pickled onions, and chancha (fried corn kernels) for some great crunch. The other star on Natalie’s menu is the arroz chaufa, Peru’s take on Chinese fried rice. The Especial a la Natalie arroz is a surf-and-turf situation with freshly grilled shrimp, squid, octopus, mussels, beef, and chicken, all of which get folded into eggy fried rice seasoned with a healthy splash of soy sauce." - Sylvio Martins
"It’s hard to beat a low-key dinner at Natalie Peruvian before a show at Pantages or the Palladium. Everything on the menu is solid at this family-owned spot, including the crispy calamari and fried plantains starters, as well as the Peruvian-style fried rice." - Cathy Chaplin
