Naz Roti is your go-to spot in Miramar for authentic Trinidadian flavors, with their must-try oxtail roti and a cozy, welcoming vibe.
"We can sum up the reason to come to Naz in one word: oxtail. This small restaurant just outside Miami Gardens in Miramar is the only Trinidadian spot on this guide that serves it. The delicious meat is slowly stewed in a savory brown sauce and ready to be torn apart and folded into a roti. Your other protein options include chicken, beef, goat, and shrimp available as rice plates or wrapped in roti. They also have some generously filled doubles, but if you’re just ordering for one, we’d go with the oxtail and a buss up shut, which is essentially a roti that they bash while still on the griddle. The result is flaky, layered, and perfect for wiping up sauce. " - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo

"Naz Roti is a family-owned restaurant that offers a standard Trinidadian menu of roti, doubles, and rice plates. They use the Indian name “chapati” to describe their plain roti, and although they also have dhal puri, we've found their lentils to be on the grainier side, so stick with the plain or paratha. The rotis here will feed two to three people, and unless requested otherwise, the bread and meat are served separately. The oxtail roti is their standout—both because it’s less common and the oxtail is delicious. They give you the meatiest, most tender pieces that fall right off the bone and the brown sauce has a smokey, slightly sweet flavor. They also have a good veggie roti with pumpkin in it. While doubles are typically the go-to warm-up snack, their doubles are slightly overfilled and tamarind sauce-deprived, so just double down on roti here instead." - yolande clark jackson
