Places To Eat & Drink Near The Fox Theater

"If you spot a sea of folks between West Peachtree and Peachtree streets on the weekend, it’s probably because of Negril’s popular One Love Brunch. Expect things to be a bit more subdued at this Caribbean spot on weekday evenings, when reggae tunes and soft conversations lightly bounce off the walls of the converted firehouse. Kitchen highlights include collard green spring rolls and a hearty oxtail pasta that goes down like pot roast, which you can attempt to walk off during the five-minute stroll from your table to the Fox." - nina reeder, juli horsford, demarco williams

Best Caribbean and Jamaican Restaurants in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"Walkable from the North Avenue MARTA station in Midtown, Negril Village is where the dark-stained wood bar and surrounding ivory floors and walls create an easygoing yet upscale vibe. Expect to find dishes like rum-glazed jerk salmon with whipped sweet potatoes and sautéed asparagus here. The waffles that come with the jerk chicken combo are pineapple-infused. Negril Village calls its Jamaican patties “empanadas”. Most dishes incorporate warm spices like nutmeg with the addition of sorrel. Order a painkiller cocktail and enjoy." - Mike Jordan

Credential: Born Jamaican, eat mostly Jamaicans food, love rice and peas, always eat at cookshop when I go home. Pros The music: not too loud but good volume The atmosphere: went around brunch time, not many people surprisingly. It was calm, clean, love the reggae playlist. The food: food was delicious I enjoyed everything except the rice and peas. Rice and peas needs more flavor Cons May not have lot of parking on busy days No refills, due to no soda machine and freshly made juices RICE AND PEAS. I would give my entire food 10/10 but the rice and peas did not take it home for me so it’s 7/10 for food. Split check issue, I had a party of 5 that wanted to separate checks but seems like it was an issue splitting the check for them.

My husband brought me here for Valentine’s Day. This is their new location. Parking was free. The atmosphere was very cozy and intimate. We had the collard green spring rolls, oxtail dinner, curry chicken dinner and the Mac and cheese. The food was 10/10! They are currently waiting on their liquor license, so no alcoholic beverages right now; but they do have mock tails available. Our server was polite and knowledgeable. We will definitely come back!

Google
Negril transports you right to the Islands! The food was amazing, the decor was beautiful, and the atmosphere was on point. The veggie pattie was flaky and flavorful and the cornbread is delicious. I got the Ital Stew with rice and beans + cabbage. Great size portions for the food and it was super flavorful. Even the bathroom was beautiful and smelled great! The only suggestion I have is adding more dessert options to the menu. Coconut cake, pie, etc. MK took very good care of us, we'll be back!

My wife and I ordered the oxtail and jerk chicken meal. Our total came out to $53. The presentation was mediocre. I wish they would have used compostable to-go boxes with the compartments to separate the veggies, rice, and meat. They put all the food in a single plastic bowl and attempted to separate it in the bowl but I still managed to unpleasantly bite into some small bone bits from the oxtails. There were also two big pieces peppers in the bowl which were very out of place to me. Maybe those peppers were substitutes for scotch bonnet peppers??? I have no idea. The rice and peas was good even though I personally prefer white rice and they didn't have the option to choose the type of rice I wanted. My oxtails were super tender, flavorful, and fell of the bone, but I personally prefer them to still somewhat be on the bone. I love plantains but the plantains at this location were not ripe enough for my liking and they were too dry. My wife rated her jerk chicken a 5/10. She said they were too dry and she had better. She's not Jamaican by the way and I am if that matters lol. Overall, I would definitely recommend people visit the restaurant because it is definitely a nice looking restaurant on the inside with a nice ambiance. As far as the food, maybe we chose to visit on a night when they had a lazy chef in the back. I do think that they are slightly overpriced but it's kind of expected when visiting the Atlanta area.

Google
Excellent experience! Here's the details. This is their new location, I used to go rarely because the food was good but parking was $20 and they didn't have Red Snapper as a Jamaican themed restaurant. But, they now have RED SNAPPER on the new menu 🎯. And parking is FREE. The food was good, as usual. However this new location is even better because it is set in an intimate atmosphere that encourages interaction with other patrons. Jasmine was our server and she was great! She was always smiling and made our dinner experience even better. One downside, the chairs are very uncomfortable, on the outside of the tables. I had to add 2 cushions just to be able to sit in them. We also ordered the Mac & Cheese, it was good. We got the Rum bread pudding for dessert. It was a hit too. And the new Manager, Rod, who is now running this location, was very personable and he suggested we try the cornbread with guava butter. It is a must-taste here! It's Surprisingly flavorful and complex. We will definitely be coming back here again and again. I can tell you, this place will be packed when people find where the new location is. And reservations will probably be needed soon. So try this place out, early.

Google
The restaurant was smaller than expected but the ambiance was really nice. The food was excellent but the service was somewhat rude and not very hospitable. Except for the service everything was great! Not enough ample parking so come early.

AMAZING, 10/10!!! Dined here with friends for NYE and we’re still talking about it. Great service, food, ambiance, drinks, and presentation. The portions are generous and everything’s absolutely delicious. Not pictured but just as tasty: the ribs and bread pudding…😋

Very lovely, inside the restaurant was nice the ambiance was great. It wasn’t loud in there which I loved very demure. I got the oxtail pasta it was sooo delicious 10/10 I could of ate it all in one sitting but I wanted too carry some home! The bread pudding was another hit! This spot just became my favorite! I definitely will be coming back.❤️

Yelp
My wife and I enjoyed a quick meal here before our show at the Fox. As others have commented before, the Fox definitely provides some of their clientele. It was also Superbowl Sunday, so it was not too crowded at 6 when we got there ahead of a 7 start time. We had parking with our show tickets, but it looked like several parking options were close by. We were seated and served fairly quickly, and all the staff we interacted with were very friendly. My wife ordered a drink called "The Spot" that was a very refreshing, well-made drink. The only missing star may be unfair of me, but a Jamaican joint running out of beef patties was incredibly disappointing to us! We ordered the jerk shrimp appetizer, curry chicken roti, and the spicy beef entree (I failed to write it down, and I can't seem to find it on their menu right now - sad day!), all of which was fantastic. We eat Caribbean food enough that I feel I can say this is definitely elevated cuisine, and the flavors and presentation made us sad we hadn't gotten there earlier to order the snapper or enjoy dessert. I have a feeling we'll be back, though! Our server was very attentive, and she kept things running to help us make our show time, which we did with no problem, even on a rainy night.

Yelp
The servers are reasonable; however, the wait times can be long. The excellent music makes it not so bad. The drinks are okay. The food can be small in portion sizes but decently tasting. My favorites are the oxtails, rice, and peas, as well as the mac and cheese and cabbage. The bathrooms are upstairs; be careful. This used to be an old fire station where my dad worked at one point in the 90s. It's great to see what they did with the decor.

Yelp
Saw the Negril food truck on the Beltline and stopped by. It was great decision! The jerk chicken bowl and ginger pineapple juice were delicious . I would order from them again.

Yelp
We have had the worst restaurant experiences in Atlanta this past week and NegrilATL took the cake. The delay, lack of customer service, and drop in food quality in this establishment is just disappointing. Especially since I had such a great experience at the Brooklyn location. Firstly, it took 40 minutes to receive our appetizers, one order of jerk wings and an order of ackee and Saltfish egg rolls. And they were COLD! Normally this would've be an automatic "thank you, we're paying for what we have received and we are leaving." However we'd been at a conference all day and it was too close to a time when most restaurants were closing. We decided to extend some extra patience or risk not eating at all that night. Much to our dismay, the entrees (coco salmon and whole snapper) took an additional 45 mins and they too, were COLD! Day two in Atlanta and this downtown restaurant scene is not looking good. Imagine the joke was on us when the plates were hot but the food was burnt, over fried and served cold. Absolutely not freshly cooked at all.

Yelp
Upon arrival, at approximately 12:10 pm, the restaurant wasn't ready to seat anyone. We were then told by our server that they were out of a number of items on the menu. Seemed odd considering they just opened for the day. Food was hit and miss. I ordered the Jerk Salmon with mixed vegetables. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the jerk sauce was great. However, the mixed vegetables had no seasoning and the mashed sweet potato also had no seasoning.

Yelp
Negril village is one of the few Jamaican Restaurants in the metro area that has a sophisticated yet casual ambiance. The building is an old historic Firehouse built in 1907 and you'll surely see and feel the elegance and charm of construction. We came to celebrate my grandmothers 80th and my family is a picky, opinionated bunch so we decided to just eat Jamaican Food (like we don't eat this everyday- LOL. With that in mind we knew to visit Negril because it's one of the few places that will provide the atmosphere to celebrate an occasion like that. The service was Great! The waiter was patient with my family and gave answers to questions. My family is Old School and cook everyday, and if they don't cook they cook something that's quick. So when eating out they have questions and he was very patient. He also allowed us to split the check which was a plus. The menu has typical Jamaican Fare and a few items that are fused with American favorites like wings, pasta and grits.... In all we enjoyed ourselves. For constructive criticism I would serve wine in a wine glass especially with the ambiance of the restaurant. My mother was taken back when they brought the wine in a rinsed tumbler. That's really my only con. They do offer brunch, so this is a popular restaurant for Brunch Vibes and Sunday Funday. They also have a large event space upstairs that can accommodate your event and host parties during holiday weekends in Atlanta. Until this most recent trip I hadn't visited in years but from what I remember and based on other recent reviews they get packed fast! Be sure to book a reservation and if you have a group everyone MUST be there to be seated!

Yelp
I enjoyed my shrimp and grits. They were so flavorful and filled me up. The tomato based creole sauce paired so well with the grits. My friends enjoyed their entrees as well. For my drink , I ordered the Rude Gyal with vodka and it was so fruity and not too strong. The service was slow that is the reason for the 3 reviews. There was only one waitress for multiple tables which caused the long waits. Our server was good and helpful . She made the experience better and was apologetic. We watched one table leave because they had not been helped for a long while. The only recommendation is better service to minimize the long wait times for drinks and foods. The decor is beautiful and I liked the artwork upstairs.

Yelp
Service was quick as we had reservations. It was a chill vibe but there was popular music playing. The food was delicious. We had oxtails rice and peas and rasta pasta. I would definitely go back again.
google avatar

Yelp
The ackee and saltfish eggrolls were very delicious. The sweet sauce was a nice accompaniment. I enjoyed the oxtail, but I felt like the flavor was lit exactly my preference. It leaned more into spicy flavor without the spicy kick and without enough of other flavors. I hope that makes sense because that's the best way I could explain it. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were fun. They suggested a giant mimosa tower which got me and my two friends exactly where we needed to be. I started off with an old fashioned and finished with the mimosas. They have outside seating, bar seating, regular seating and parking (about 20-30 spots)

Yelp
Great food, fast, and a parking lot to the side. I brought my friend here who is from Jamaica and wanted Caribbean food while visiting from England. We came for lunch at about 2 on a weekday and we were the only ones there. With the nice weather we sat outside. They don't have paper menus so you'll have to get the menu from their website. We ordered a few things for her to try and 2 mains. Codfish fritters - 3 crispy balls filled with fish and a little bit of spice. Served on a bed of lettuce and mango salsa. My friend loved these. Ackee and saltfish rolls - deep fried with lots of fish and crispy. Comes with 2 rolls and some sweet and sour dipping sauce. These were a hit! Jerk Chicken Bowl - I ordered this. It was a large portion with 3 cuts of chicken, all dark meat, maybe 2 cups of rice and beans, cabbage, sweet plantains, and a lot of jerk sauce at the bottom. The chicken was great! I just wanted to keep eating but had to take half to go. Jamaican Breakfast - my friend loved this. The saltfish and ackee was a large portion on top of the appetizers. They also have sorrel to drink so my friend was in love! Next time: I'm trying a Curry Goat Bowl or dinner.

Yelp
I came here and sat at the bar for 15 minutes and no one ever stopped by to offer me a menu or food. The service was awful. Parking is also $10 - $20.

Yelp
I've been here before, primarily for private events hosted in their lovely, quaint second story venue. This visit, I invited a client to a late lunch at 2pm on a Thursday. The decor is beautiful and included preserved historic components. We had a reservation, and a host quickly came over to greet us and gave us a very lovely, corner table, which was ideal for business conversation. I think we sat for nearly 10 minutes with no server. We tried to hail a passing employee to inform them it appeared no server was assigned to our table but he did not hear us. Finally a server noticed that no one else was serving us, and she came over to apologize and seemed frustrated that either the host hadn't notified the staff of our being seated or perhaps we were placed in an area servers weren't working. Also it would have been nice to have used to the time to peruse the menu but we weren't given any by the host and oddly there were no QR code menus on any of the tables. So not the best start to begin a business meal with a dead 10 minutes of no attention. Alas, our server, Deja continued to provide good service to us. She made excellent cocktail recommdations. Definitely order the Sprtiz Thing if you enjoy light alcohol + bubbles - perfect for midday. My guest ordered passion fruit salmon and I ordered the curry chicken. The food was lovely, and we also had jerk shrimp skewers for a starter. Because I've been before, I probably should have gone with the jerk wings which never disappoint. Definitely worth a trip. There is a small adjacent parking lot which uses ParkMobile. I paid $7.75 for 2 hours. On evenings and weekends when it's crowded you may not find a spot. In that case I suggest on-street parking on West Peachtree & North Ave, which may require Park mobile payment unless it's after 10pm or on weekends.

Yelp
Tried this restaurant out. The service was nice. The food was just okay- it's not like the best Caribbean food. It's American style Caribbean which kind of washed out the flavors I expected. The rum punch was AMAZING. The oxtail was not as tender as I would prefer but it was still good. There is a parking lot next to the restaurant that you have to pay for, and I also recommend making a reservation in advance.
google avatar

Earl L.

Yelp
The codfish fritters were my favorite item - delicious with great flavor and made perfectly, and not oily at all. The oxtail and vegetable empanadas were very tasty and well made - just undesirably oily. The jerk wings were well cooked and had decent flavor, but not as much of a jerk kick or intensity as I would've liked. The curry goat and plantain egg rolls were a MAJOR fail: why on earth would you have goat meat with bones and gristle in an EGG ROLL?!!! They should've taken much more care to make sure it was purely boneless and gristle less before it was wrapped in a dash egg roll. The flavor was good, but the execution was WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY off.

Yelp
Picked up food from the new location. Shrimp was overcooked, snapper and shrimp was fishy. Collard green rolls were salty as heck. Hubbie and I didn't feel too good through the night. Huge fall off from quality of food at old location. No one answers the phone either. Old information on the answering machine.

Yelp
I was really looking forward to our time here. We were visiting Atlanta for the weekend and a friend recommended this place. He made reservations for Saturday night. When we walked in and were greeted by the hostess, Jade, I was thoroughly impressed. She was warm and inviting. Friendly and respectful. I felt like I was going to have a great time. However, when our waitress greeted us, things quickly went sour. She could have been more enthusiastic to greet us. She did not smile or give a warm welcome. I was turned off. We wanted to purchase a bottle of wine or two depending on how well the night went. She gave push-back when I requested a taste of the wine in order to make my decision. Finally, we were allowed to taste two bottles and decided on one. For dinner, I ordered chicken pumpkin soup. I didn't enjoy it. I couldn't enjoy it because it was too spicy for me. I am not a fan of spicy foods and I detest not being given a heads-up ahead of time. My friends and husband enjoyed their dishes. Which I was happy about. The dessert was delicious. I ordered a cheesecake which came to the table with a beautiful presentation. I wish that our service was better than it was. We did end up ordering two bottles of wine because, despite the service, we were having a great time. The ambiance is dark and moody which I love especially because every table is well-lit with candles. You can have a romantic meal here or a dinner party. They do offer that versatility but the music was too loud for my taste. If you don't finish your food and want to take the rest home with you, be prepared to box your own food. They do not offer that service.

Yelp
Jamaican eatery! The food is very well seasoned here! Service is also pretty on point each time! We love coming here on Sundays as there is a live band, really gives it a vibe! It is loud fyi! I usually go with a snapper/ox tails but the jerk chicken is also good! Rice & peas are my favorite the way it is made here! Sweet plantains are also something i enjoy! Also if you like to have a stinky drink i recommend the rum punch! 2 will take you where you want to be, I'm unsure if i recommend anymore unless you want to be wasted!! Lol
google avatar

Yelp
This was an authentic island restaurant and the food was delicious. I generally don't love small plates because I like to have a full entree, but my mom and I have the exact same taste in food so we were able to get plenty of things we liked. Service was okay, and we were there at an off time, right at 4pm, so I expected a little more. I would come back here to try more dishes but would come prepared to spend more!
google avatar

Tylor F.

Yelp
The food was absolutely phenomenal! I highly recommend this place if you can afford to go. There is automatic of 20% gratuity for a table of 2 guests or more (which is basically everyone, in my opinion). There is also no tap water. Water will cost per bottle as will cans of any carbonated beverages at a significant markup. The food, while exceptional, was pricey and the wait staff seemed to only be interested in parties ordering a lot of food. My partner and I ordered one bowl of pasta to share as well as a beef patty and some waters. The server made a face when we stated we would share a bowl of the pasta and never returned to our table again other than to pressure us to leave. If the price was more reasonable and the staff was more friendly this would, no doubt, be a five star experience.

Food great Service great Literally have no complaint, except the rum punch tower price . I'll definitely be back.... A lot

Yelp
I haven't been back to Negril since before the pandemic. The food was tasty! All of my guests indicated their food was good. We all had the oxtail plate, oxtail pasta, brown stew chicken and the salmon. All very good. The hostess, the bartender and the manager coming to check on us were all. Kind. The customer service was by far top tier which isn't always available at places that are owned by people of color which I can say as I'm a black Woman that makes it my business to seek service from these Specific businesses. The parking was ample as there is parking immediately next to the building and Negril doesn't own it, but it was $20. I will definitely be back from brunch or a day when the live band is there.
google avatar

Rosa F.

Yelp
The food was excellent!!! Waitstaff was great... the docked star is a reflection on management. Although it was empty immediately after it opened, 5 other tables were sat within 15 minutes and there was only 1 waitress for the majority of the time. The hostess may have been training since she seemed unsure/hesitant as how to help; either way the result was the same: the waitress was juggling a lot. We still enjoyed our food very much and the locale is very nice.

Yelp
This is our first visit to Negril ATL, I have visited Negril BK and the original location, Negril Village in Manhattan NYC. This location has lived up to the family name. Our server Atilia was great! Energetic, warm and professional. Took our entire order including appetizers without writing it down and got it perfectly right. The food was excellent, the cocktails, delicious. The music was a bit loud for my liking but that's typical for a Friday night. After dinner we had drinks outside on the patio and that was also awesome. The manager stopped by our table to check on us and she was very warm and welcoming. We will be back when we visit the ATL.

Yelp
Recently visited for Sunday brunch with visiting friends from out of town. We ordered a mimosa tower (fine no issues) and a number of various menu items from the jerk chicken, jerk salmon, shrimp and grits and whole fried snapper with sides. Each of us left feeling as if flavors were somehow off. Shrimp and Grits dish was somewhat soupy and bland. Salmon and mac and cheese were both overcooked and slightly dried out. We all agreed it to be a worthwhile visit but not certain for a need to return. Overall not the worst, surely not the best... average for the Atlanta area was our takeaway.
google avatar

Jada T.

Yelp
My experience here was just ok. The service was good. No gripes about our waitress. We went in on a rainy day but inside, the restaurant itself was freezing cold. Almost unbearable. We ordered the Mimosa tower and it wasn't as good as expected. We order the Mango flavor and that's all we could taste. Almost like there was no champagne in it. The food was pretty good, my party of 4 got a variety of different things. And everything tasted pretty good. I really enjoyed the Mac and cheese. I was disappointed that the online menu had Oxtail empanadas but they weren't offered. I looked forward to trying them. No rush on going back but it was an ok Brunch.

Yelp
As a New Yorker I have had the pleasure of eating at their NYC locations for years. The spot in the village is where my husband and I spent NYE for several years. Now that we live in GA we were exited to eat at this location. We got takeout last night and wouldn't do it again. We waited an additional 30min for food that was supposed to be ready in 30min. We ordered an Ackee & Saltfish bowl, Curry Chicken Roti, and Codfish fritters. The Ackee & Saltfish was so salty and had little yard food. The roti was ok. The fritters were horrible. That was just bread and peppers. Outside of the taste the portion sizes for the price does not match. I tried to speak with the manager who was also dealing with complaints from other customers, but he was very short with me. I won't spend money here again. Golden Krust would have been a much better option!!
google avatar

Tanya J.

Yelp
Rum punch-hella sweet but like koolaid, almost just like I like it. I don't taste the liquor at all. Buffalo soldier drink-K loves it 5/5. $20.75 for Parking after 5pm on Saturday. We came here before our show at the Fox, as it's not too far away. Caesar salad with grilled shrimp (only 4 small shrimp) but good. Collard greens spring rolls-I liked. It had like a thai chili sauce which is my kind of thing anyway. Oxtail wrap-something spicy but I like! 2 pieces of johnny cake which is so good! Brown stewed chicken 7/10 for flavor. It's more spicy than K likes, but he has a very low tolerance, so I tasted it. It's sweeter than I thought, but I liked it. I know why K didn't put gravy on the rice bc it's spicy. K said this place is too expensive but I would come back with friends for the ambiance.

Yelp
On a Friday evening after leaving the high museum my husband and I decided to walk the area for a little bit to see what else was around. We came across the food truck that was sitting on the busy street side of the museum. We both love Jamaican food so we excited to try it out. First I was to highlight the customer service. They we very attentive and will to assist with any questions we had. Second, the food was amazing. I tried the oxtails and my husband had the jerk pork taco. They both were amazing they give you plenty of food for the price. A must try. I will be back
google avatar

JM S.

Yelp
Service is terrible. Food was a 4 out of 10. Don't see the hype. It leverages its location to the Fox Theater. Not worth the money! Very expensive for what you get.
google avatar

Aja F.

Yelp
First time coming to eat here. I came to see what all the buzz was about. I can say it wasn't bad but I have had better. This will be my first and last time. Get ready for the 20% added to your check for the waitress. The oxtails taste like red curry and the oxtail pasta had just a piece of oxtail in it so it really wasn't worth it. The jerk wings had no taste at all nor did the dipping sauce have taste. The drink was extra sweet but it was supposed to be the most heaviest alcohol drink they have. Come try it yourself and you will see what I'm saying.

Yelp
I had a lovely dinner here last night with friendly service. The Good: - jerk shrimp starter - collard green spring rolls - jerk salmon with market vegetables - accommodated us outside despite the inside reservation The Less Good: - we requested things like cutlery and napkins - my meal with two Tito's and sodas came to about $100... it was good, but maybe not $100 good

Yelp
Came back after a few years. Vibe was great and food was just as I remembered it. My friends and I tried the round about. It was out of this world definitely recommend it. Also had a Rum Punch tower. Highly recommend if you're going with a group of friends. Also had the stuffed shrimp Snapper covered in tomato okra sauce OMG! Great vibes and food!

Yelp
Food is just OK for a Jamaican Restaurant. No thyme or butter beans in Ox tails. Jerk chicken way better At Golden Crust.. And be surprised if it gets served "Hot"!! Very Disappointing!More Bones Than Meat; so if you come expecting to leave full your fooling yourself. No Ambiance at all other than some piped in Caribbean music. Would pass it up but tried to support black folk. Maybe this will be a wake up call for the management. Nice servers but I came for the food.. But I'm not going back there for anything again. All they were offering up was excuses. But the Rum Punch is so good that they Run out quickly. And ordering in advance is no guarantee that your order will be ready when promised.

Yelp
Walking into this place you can tell it is steeped with history & culture. I sat at the bar, ordered the Spot cocktail and it definitely hit the spot. I also ordered the jerk wings & ox tail wrap which took longer than expected (30+ minutes), but the staff made up for it. The wings were fantastic. Definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
Cute restaurant and decor they have a live DJ who is on the second level for brunch I visited on a Saturday around 12:30 1:00 p.m. ish. The upstairs second level had a lot of large parties I was there with one other person but because there's a lot of large parties up there it did slow down our meals and other small tables around us meals to come out that's the only downside I would say the wait time for the food was longer than expected. We ordered the large tropical mimosa carafe and I think they may have dropped a very tiny bit of juice in there because it was very heavy on the champagne LOL not complaining we were able to get a good for maybe five glasses each it's a great steal We ordered the ackee and salt fish spring rolls for our appetizer and oh my goodness they were very a good I was pleasantly surprised how well it paired with the shell of the spring roll and then it comes with a sweet and sour a dipping of sauce definitely recommend that appetizer For our means we got the oxtaill Pasta bowl which comes with oxtail in the middle that is a boneless and an alfredo pasta that is super rich and creamy and pickled onions and tomatoes on top. We also got the jerk chicken and pineapple infused waffles that came with guava butter The jerk chicken came with two drumsticks as well as two thighs so basically half a chicken was definitely not expecting such a large portion. The waffles were very tasty however I did not really taste any pineapple I loved the guava butter it was so tasty the jerk chicken is good but I would consider it more of a jerk stew it was very saucy

Yelp
So I'm a bit conflicted. I wanna give this place 4 or 5 stars but between the parking fiasco.. the 50 minute wait to get my soup... and the empty drinks for my friend.... Iono. I just can't. The food is good tho ! The service and personality of our bartender was great but he was so busy we had empty glasses. The vibe is cool. Music was good. A good mix of soca and hip hop and r&b. The venue is small. And they were packed. Despite being crowded an hour to get food is unacceptable. The portions are generous but a tad on the pricey side. The only give a 10 to 15min grace period. Which under normal circumstances would be plenty of time. But the parking lot is extremely small and the "map" of alternate parking location was in accurate. The map said to park at a local hotel but you're not allowed unless you're a guest (per a hotel employee) and the second location was 3 blocks away and full. So we missed our reservation. Thank God we found 2 seats at the bar. Would I return. Yes. But probably during the week. Not on the weekend again.

Yelp
TLDR: $15 meals at a $30 price. When we arrived, we had to wait 20 minutes before a host appeared and another 30 minutes before someone took our order. We tried to order multiple items on the menu they were out of the supposed "house special" as well as half their beer list. Food was okay...not a $30 meal. The quality is of a takeout restaurant.

Yelp
Came here for brunch today at noon and I was a little worried due to the hype of this place but it was so empty. After about 15 minutes the place started to fill up. They had great music and it really was a great vibe here. I came with a party of 3. I'm not sure of all the bad reviews maybe a party of 6 or more would be more complicated but I enjoyed my server Samantha. She came and checked up on us a couple of times and that's all we really needed. The mimosas will catch up to you and for $23 for a large one I wasn't mad at all. Now this is a place that you can't really go with people who have insufficient funds because one check only, no exceptions. LOL The only downside of this place, you gotta walk a MILE to get to the bathroom. Lol other than that the vibes were great. My food was amazing. The oxtails were seasoned perfectly and the pasta was filling. I'd come back for sure!

Yelp
Went there last night. Got seated at the high tops near the bar. Great vibe. Bartender/server was reserved but cool. At first. Took an hour to get a salad. I just got ignored. Everybody around me was grubbin. Bill was wrong and dude tried to blame the computer and I had to make him correct it. Can't qwhite put my finger on the rude service. Should of brought a chaperone Salad was bangin tho! I really wanted the snapper

Yelp
We had brunch reservations on Saturday afternoon. We were running behind so I called ahead to let them know. There is a grace period for reservations which worked out for me. There is a parking lot beside the restaurant, it can get full for sure. We didn't wait long at all to be seated. You already know a tropical mimosa carafe was ordered. It was really good. Drank it all. I ordered the snapper stuffed with shrimp. It was really good. The chicken and waffles were also Ordered. I will say the food did take a while to come out but it was a vibe overall at this place. Vibe check was major therem

Yelp
Visited with my friend for brunch on December 5, 2021. First there is free parking on Sundays on West Peachtree St. The parking lot next door to the restaurant is small and you have to pay $12.75 for 3hours. It fills up quick beware. The atmosphere was nice and the restaurant was clean. We had reservations so no wait at 1230pm. They have live music which was very good but really loud. We couldn't hear each other talk. The food was very good. Great portions. However the large mimosa we order was lacking the champagne; meaning it was weak. I may go back with an invite but not on my own. I took of a point for the parking (accessibility), loud music and lack of alcohol in the mimosas. I still say go and try it its nice and the food is good. Just note the above.

Yelp
Negrils is just ok. The restaurant itself is beautiful and they've done a good job of keeping the integrity of the building intact. I ordered the jerk salmon and it was meh. It had a small piece of salmon, OVERLY sweetened sweet potato mash (there was too much cinnamon or nutmeg), and a few pieces of veggies for $31 dollars. Kinda insane honestly. A big thing to note is that they charge gratuity for parties of 2 or more. Never seen a place that does that because it's usually 6 or more. Safe to say I won't be going back there.

Yelp
As a Jamaican native, I'm usually particular dinning at a Carribbean cuisine. However I must say this establishment is pretty solid. The atmosphere is vibrant, there's a bottom and top layer with a outdoor patio. The food is fresh and tasty and our waitstaff was both friendly and knowledgeable.

Yelp
I don't generally write reviews but this time I need to. Our experience was very disappointing. I've been to this establishment twice before during the day hours and this will be the first time at night. We had reservations Sat. night after the Fox Theater show so I took my mom and my aunt both senior age and Jamaican I might add. It's been quite a while since I've been back to this restaurant and was looking forward to a good meal after our show. We were almost 30 mins early before out 11pm reservation and was seated with no issue (it wasn't busy). The moment we sat down, we noticed the tables had a sticky residue and tables were too close to the other tables that we had to move and shift it to slide through to sit down. The couple at the next table was already sitting at the edge of their table that he leaned over and told my aunt they ran out of plantains and oxtails. lol First off, it seems they were short staffed by the way one of the waiters kept rushing back and forth to different tables. One waiter brought 3 small plates and nothing else. We sat there for about 8-10mins... no utensils, no water, nothing. We felt like we had to signal for things that should be a standard restaurant protocol service. We had to signal for utensils which they eventually brought out all one small plate. We had to signal for napkins which they eventually brought out and when asked for a few more napkins, we were told they ran out of napkins. So, the waiter bought out take out pack utensils and said we needed to use the napkins in the package. However, 3 other patrons came later and was given napkins, as a matter of fact was even served water and meals served much quicker. The table behind us just eventually got up and left due to no service or lack thereof. They waiter we had spoke so low we had to keep asking "What did you say?!" He wasn't mean or anything, he just kept coming over mouthing words that none of us heard. We just stared at him and then he walked off until he did it again and again. smh So, we finally got our food and was given the Escovitch fish with white rice when we asked for rice and peas (2 of the same orders). The waiter eventually brought the rice and peas on small plates. My mom ordered the jerk chicken and plain waffles. They brought out red velvet waffles and said they didn't have regular waffles. I noticed my mom just picking over the food and asked her how it was, and she said it's tough. Needless to say, the jerk chicken was not good (I tasted it) and the waffles were hard (she tapped her fork on it). We showed the waiter and knocked the waffles to show how hard it was. and all they did was take $5 off (they initially only took $2.00 off)! The fish was alright, the ackee and saltfish eggrolls and sorrel was the better of everything. I probably won't frequent this place in the future and definitely tell folks don't even waste your efforts. Not sure what happened to this place, but we really could've just gone to the Jamaican restaurant in our neighborhood and gotten way better food (and nuff food) and not have to deal with lack of service. I really hope they step their restaurant game up. I want you guys to succeed in the long game.

Yelp
One might not expect macaroni and cheese to be as delicious tasting with the genius of putting it in s ramekin (which kept it warm during my ENTIRE meal) at a spot serving Jamaican cuisine, but maaaan...Negril does it right! And one can never go wrong with their oxtail dinner. Our server, while busy, remained on point in making sure we lacked nothing and although he was professional, he also had a great sense of humor, which was appreciated. The manager coming over before we left to get feedback from me and sister-girl (who was visiting from the Bronx and had never been to this establishment), was also a nice touch. Well done, Negril. Well done!
