Neil's Coffee Shop Review - Upper East Side - New York - The Infatuation

"A classic Upper East Side diner, Neil's has been in business for over half a century, and the eggs and coffee probably haven’t changed since they opened. That's a good thing. This is where you come for a simple start to your day." - Marisa Dunn

The NYC100 | Bon Appétit

"The red neon 'coffee shop' sign, hanging on the corner of 70th and Lexington, is a beautiful lie. There’s no fancy espresso machine in sight here—just a diner with a massive menu of breakfast classics. The same exact waitstaff has been here for decades, serving neighborhood locals, kids fresh off Central Park’s Little League fields, construction workers, and confused French tourists. If New York were a restaurant, it would be Neil’s." - ByThe Bon Appétit Staff

I went there with my family 2 times, and now they become our favorite breakfast. They have a lot of tasteful options with an excellent price. I took some pictures to show you what a good place here in UES. On weekends they have a brunch specials, thats awesome! Go and enjoy!!!

FOOD: 1.) two eggs over easy w bacon, comes w country potatoes = this was exactly what I was craving, a simple breakfast, break the yolk to ooze over the potatoes with the crispy salty bacon to complement 🤌🏽 Coffee = gotta love diners and the unlimited refills too SERVICE: Great very friendly and nice ATMOSPHERE: Just your standard breakfast diner w the counter and some booth seating, not too big, a little cozy, seemingly always busy even tho it’s middle of the day and middle of the week. I love that bustling diner vibe. The counter just wasn’t that comfortable to sit bc they oddly had a shelf under the counter so I couldn’t cross my legs and have enough leg room in general l.

Quick breakfast, not delicious, but okay! Small place, looks kind of dirty to be honest because it’s an old place & it’s also very tight inside but not a bad place. Fast service & nice servers

A friend and I came here as it opened on a Sunday morning and barely anyone arrived during our meal. That, contact tracing, and the plexiglass between every booth made us feel very safe during the pandemic. On to the food... I had the Croissant French Toast and it was so delicious! I loved it and definely recommend it if you're feeling sweet and savory. Had a coffee to wash it down and it was pretty standard! Can't wait to come back and probably get the same thing!

Classic old school diner. I’ve walked by it a million times but finally got to enjoy a late breakfast there today. No BS. Super fast service. Solid coffee. It was pretty packed but anyone who came in got seated promptly and I didn’t feel rushed out, even when I lingered for a bit to sip my coffee. I got 2 eggs over easy with home fries and rye toast. I don’t always eat the toast but I must say this toast was exceptionally SLAMMIN. I didn’t even butter it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Boyfriend got a turkey triple decker with fries that he thoroughly enjoyed as well. He agreed on the toast. I’ll definitely go back next time I get the chance.

I had really good breakfast at Neil's diner. Servers were all friendly and food was served really quick. I will go back to try other menus as well.

A gem! We had an early breakfast and it was fabulous. I was impressed by the chef and the server on the floor. They kept the food coming nice and easy, even to-go. Breakfast sausages were the best. ...We recently came back for a second time and it was just as great. A must if you're ever in the area. We'll be back for sure!

Nice staff, and taking care during COVID. I’d stick to basics here. Was pretty disappointed with the “challah French toast” — I don’t think it was that ...reminds me of something packaged and frozen when I was a kid... But eggs are fine, coffee solid, and egg cream was pretty good! It’s also kind of expensive. But a good place to go right now, especially because of the outdoor seating.
