Neptune's is a cozy daytime haven serving up tasty New American dishes with Southern flair, perfect for a casual brunch or quick bite in a friendly, modern vibe.
"Alameda has plenty of old-school breakfast joints serving basic egg plates, which makes Neptune’s a nice change of pace. They’re doing breakfast classics with a Californian-Filipino spin. That means you’ll find big bacon and tater tot-stuffed breakfast burritos, fantastic longanisa and fried chicken silogs, and benedicts with kale. The major caveat is that their breezy dining room and back patio are only open for dine-in Monday to Friday. During the prime Saturday and Sunday brunch days, they do takeout." - julia chen 1, lani conway

"This East Bay-based pop-up is home to some of the crispiest, most caramelized smashburgers in the Bay. The meaty knockouts are super thin, sandwiched between soft potato rolls and topped with everything from classic grilled onions and pickles to jalapeños and bean sprouts. Devouring the phở-inspired burger before losing your voice screaming “HOT TO GO” at Chappell Roan should be high on your to-do list. " - julia chen 1

The roving pop-up (they’re primarily in the East Bay) also serves creative specials—like an topped with yuzu kosho and ponzu aioli, or the phở-inspired with jalapeño and bean sprouts. Spin around ten times, throw a dart at the menu, and it'll always land on something great—but get the Signature with two beef patties, house sauce, cheese, pickles, and grilled onions when in doubt. Check their for specials and where to order. " - Julia Chen
"“Smashburgers have become increasingly popular in the Bay Area over the last year, and we have Smish Smash to thank for that. The pop-up operating out of Neptune’s in Alameda sparked a social media fervor thanks to their inventive iteration of the burgers with crispy, lacy patties, and toppings like uni, grilled pineapple, or well-flattened and crisped bacon patties. Their unique specials rotate, so check Instagram for the menu. And note that they’re only taking same-day pre-orders.” - JC" - Julia Chen 1, Lani Conway
