Nest Restaurant Old Street

Had a great time at The Nest in Old Street. The vibe was cool and laid-back, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Food was tasty and nicely done — you can tell they put effort into it. There was a bit of a wait between dishes, but nothing too bad. Overall, a solid spot for a nice meal without being too fancy. Would happily go back!

Lovely cosy and warm British restaurant near Old Street and Shoreditch. Interesting seasonal menu, we visited during lamb season. A la carte nenu items included a fantastic soda bread, olives, scallops, corn and giroles, lamb (of course), and a fish option with the best mash potato ever, smooth and rich. Delicious! Price about £90 per person with drinks.

Great food! Great taste! Great services! Great selection of wines! Pleasantly surprised to find Nest while in London. It certainly lives up to its reputation of freshness and locally sourced menu. Set menu was offered and it didn’t disappoint. The food is fresh and tasty. The wine pairing choices certainly compliment the dishes. Services were friendly and nice. The restaurant design and decor were rustic yet relaxed. 5 ⭐️. Will visit again.

My husband and I visited Nest Restaurant Old Street for a date night ❤️. We were excited to try the seasonal set menu, which this time was themed around the sea and coastline 🌊. It was also intriguing to experience a restaurant that focuses on one type of meat per season - this time, fish 🐟. Each dish was beautifully presented, and the flavours were top-tier 👌. My personal favourite was the Oysters with Rhubarb Mignonette, as the flavours complemented each other perfectly, creating a truly unique taste 🦪✨. A lovely surprise was receiving an extra course, free of charge 🎁 the cuttlefish risotto with endive was absolutely delicious and something I would gladly pay for on its own 🤩. Unfortunately, there were a couple of issues. We found plastic in one of our dishes, though the waitress quickly sent it back. Additionally, we had to ask for our final dish, as the waitress had mistakenly brought us the bill before we had finished the set menu. While all the staff were friendly and helpful, these are serious mistakes that I wouldn’t expect at a restaurant charging these prices 🤷‍♀️. That said, the food itself was outstanding, and I truly commend the chefs for their creativity and technical skill 👨‍🍳🔥. I’d happily return next season to experience the new tasting menu - hopefully with a little less plastic this time 😉.

Had an absolutely gorgeous lunch. The smell as you walk in is smokey and cosy, the decor is a cross between a pub and a hunting lodge, you wouldn't guess where you were, and the staff were absolutely fantastic. Knowledgeable on the excellent, delicious food that we're definitely coming back for, and also the really reasonably priced wine pairing. Loved every minute!!

My husband and I loved every minute of our dining experience at Nest! The service was fantastic - the team were really friendly and the sommelier told us a lot about the wines in the wine pairing which were all great! The food was delicious, every course from the 'sea and coastline' set menu was full of flavour and made up of high quality seasonal produce. Highly recommend a visit and we will definitely be going again!

Just the perfect romantic restaurant to celebrate our engagement! The coastal-themed tasting menu was amazing, paired with some beautiful and unusual wines. Could not recommend more and I'm already excited to return.

Was fortunate enough to get a last minute dinner reservation at the counter, which was a great experience! The restaurant is a short walk from Old Street station. Nest offers seasonal menus and my visit was during Beef Season. Unfurling the wax-sealed menu revealed two set menu options, the short menu or longer signature menu, which I went with. A wine pairing is available however I chose my own drinks. Over the next two hours I was treated to eleven courses of incredible cooking. Despite being Beef Season the menu was interspersed with some seafood and vegetable items as well, although they had found creative ways to incorporate beef in many of the courses. I enjoyed all the dishes but some of my favourites were the tempura oyster with bone marrow mayonnaise, the sirloin carpaccio and Highland beef. Sitting at the kitchen counter added to the experience, you could tell the chefs were passionate from the way they worked together and the way they explained each dish and how they had made it. To drink I had a Nest Negroni and a glass of Slovakian red wine, both of which were excellent and served promptly. The drinks list is extensive and will suit most tastes. Nest is in an area with lots of competition and certainly holds its own. It was a great meal and I would love to return to try another season!
