The 18 Best Restaurants In Asbury Park - Jersey Shore - The Infatuation

"Sure, upon glancing at their menu and stylish dining room, Nettie’s appears to be a well-designed, modern Italian restaurant built in a renovated Jersey roadhouse. However, if you can get your mind off meatballs, you might be surprised to find the best vegan and vegetarian options around the Shore. Their house salad, featuring large crusty croutons and vinegar-soaked veggies, is quintessential old-school Italian and our favorite in the area. And their mountain of fried hen of the woods mushrooms is a great item for sharing with a side of marinara. They also do a great fish milanese and a delicious plate of hot vinegar chicken, if you’re feeling more than just vegetables. The dining room has moody lighting and features a great cocktail and wine list. Nettie’s became famous for their policy of no children under 10, so grab a babysitter, order some pizza to go for the kids, and come here for a fun friend catch-up." - michael sinatra

Applebee’s Pushes Back Against NJ ‘No Kids’ Rule With Free Meals | Eater NY

"After an Instagram announcement that it would cease to allow kids under 10 at its Italian New Jersey restaurant, I watched the internet light up, reigniting a decades-old debate about the role of children in restaurants." - Emma Orlow

Why Banning Kids From Restaurants Is Terrible For Our Society | Bon Appétit

"A New Jersey Italian spot whose Feb. 9 social-media announcement that it will ban children under 10 starting in early March sparked a heated debate. Though its name evokes a children’s restaurant, the management framed the policy as a staff-centered response to operational challenges — rising noise levels, limited space for high chairs, frequent messy cleanups, and the liability of kids running around. The commentary argues the ban misunderstands dining as a collective experience, noting restaurants as vital communal spaces where children learn social behavior and parents find support; it suggests alternatives such as better material accommodations, greater parental tipping, and livable wages for staff rather than exclusionary policies, while acknowledging that very young children can be incompatible with some curated fine-dining experiences." - ByJessica Blankenship

The First Restaurant to Ban Kids Post Pandemic | Eater NY

"Set in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, I found Nettie’s House of Spaghetti to be more mid‑century design conscious than chainlike—cushy banquettes, plenty of tables and ample space for distancing—less Olive Garden. Although kids have been welcomed since it opened in 2018, the restaurant announced on social media this week that it’s banning young children starting March 8, citing “noise levels, lack of space for high chairs, cleaning up crazy messes, and the liability of kids running around the restaurant.” The new policy provoked nearly 3,000 mixed comments online; Nettie’s Yelp page temporarily prevented ratings and Google showed mostly five-star reviews in the past week with one user leaving a zero because of the child policy, and Eater’s request for comment has not yet been answered." - Melissa McCart

First time here and cant wait to go back! The food and desserts were amazing! The staff was friendly and gave good recommendations. We didnt try any cocktails this visit because we did wine instead. I love that it's a child free restaurant so you can dine in peace without screaming, obnoxious children!

Google
First timer! Absolutely delicious. Not pictured but we got the ricotta, sausage and meatballs to start. All three absolutely delightful but the sausage will be the reason to visit again. The meat sauce and the texture of the fresh pasta was perfect. Will return. :)

Google
I don’t get the draw. Most of the food was overpriced and disappointing. For $52, the tuna should be sushi grade and pink in middle. It’s a very thin piece and way overcooked. I added a photo of the dish. I didn’t like the preparation at all. The lamb pasta was average at best. The list of appetizers are unispiring. Olives, really. The lemon pasta and potato knish were very good. The best part of meal was the bread. There are so many better restaurants in Monmouth County. Sorry but last time I will be there.

Google
Lots of other Italian Restaurants nearby where the menu has more options, more reasonable prices, bigger portions & better atmosphere. Needless to say we were very disappointed on all fronts except for the Service. The ladies were all great 👍

I went with my best friend for the Chinese New Year's menu and right from the beginning, I was impressed. The building is decorated beautifully and from start to finish, every dish on the menu I was not only excited to try, but amazed at how quickly I finished. Every member of the staff was not only exceedingly friendly and welcoming, but also knowledgeable and the perfect amount of attentive. Overall a great experience I can't wait to go back and try the regular menu. If you can do food this well that you only make once a year, I can't wait to see what you do with the other 364 days out of it. * Update:* Went back for another Chinese New Year dinner and was blown away again. The cocktails they came up with were unique and well thought out. The food was incredible, so impressive how they are able to create a menu for one night and mix Chinese and Italian in such a fluid way. The attention to detail was impeccable, down to the ice cubes with their logo on them to the Fortune cookie at end of the meal. Then to top it all off, I got to take home a pair of beautiful black and gold chopsticks.

Google
We didn't get to eat, so this review is strictly about the front of house service. We tried to walk in for Saturday night dinner because we were in the neighborhood and the Resy app seemed to be clinching. The restaurant was crowded but what was very off-putting was the way the hostess spoke to us. Instead of stopping, making eye contact and speaking to us directly she decided to speak basically into the air as she walked away. We weren't ready to wait an hour, and that would've been fine if it was communicated to us with some grace and maturity.

Google
It's funny when you drive up to this place it looks like an old diner. But inside is surprisingly different. Much nicer inside. The food was just ok. We went on wednesday so 3 of us 4 could take advantage of the parm night. I ordered the meatball and sausage. Not that great. I didn't care for the fried outside of the meatball. The sausage had a funky taste. I also ordered the house salad. Just couldn't get over the overly pickled taste on everything. The service was very attentive and friendly. Two of my party ordered the chicken parm and one had the shrimp parm. They too said it was just ok.

Google
Looks unassuming from the outside. Great vibes inside. The bar is nice and the cocktails, especially the Negronis, were well made. The whipped ricotta is fantastic as was the house salad. As expected, the spaghetti was fantastic (we tried all three available). Portions on the pasta were slightly smaller than expected. The meatballs were very good. The hot vinegar chicken was their signature dish. The sauce was good, albeit different. The chicken had a good taste and seasoning but was a little dry. Overall great meal and worth going.

Yelp
Nettie's has been on my list to try for over a year, especially after the polarizing public response to their choice to ban children. Initial impression: art deco vibes, like you're walking into a reclaimed diner. The vibes feel like the restaurant belongs in NYC with a crowd to match. With such a retro restaurant, you wouldn't expect such an Italian menu. Menu is VERY limited, but everything on there is top quality. Nearly all of their pasta is homemade and to die for. The spaghetti is imported from Italy. The salad was a very cool Italian chopped salad (ask for light Italian seasoning). The whipped ricotta is the creamiest I've ever had, ever. The highlight of the meal were the fried mushrooms served calamari style with a lemon wedge (ask for marinara dipping sauce). They were super crispy and not at all soggy. The fettuccini and meatballs were both delicious and fresh. And the dessert was phenomenal! Overall take: the fresh Italian food isn't to miss. Your traditional Italian parents probably won't like the vibes, so come here with your friends/dates.

Yelp
Service was really good and I like the place. The starters were great, whipped ricotta and broccoli rabe. Meatballs were excellent as well. However didn't think the pasta was very good. The pasta itself was fresh. However the sauce/flavor was not. Got the broccoli pasta which was bland and could almost be considered a noodle soup. Came in a bowl of liquid. Also got the fettuccine which again was really bland. Had a little bit of the broccoli spaghetti and only a few bites of the fettuccine, and left the rest there. Wasn't worth taking home. To be fair I did misread the menu and thought one of the pastas would have a red sauce and maybe that is better. That being said both of the pastas were had were not good, so will not be a place to visit again, so it will have to remain a mystery. A lot of much better options for pasta in the area. It is a bit tight and loud as others mentioned, but wasn't an issue for us. Liked the atmosphere. Also our server was good and overall good service. Really the pasta that wasn't good.

Yelp
First time here after wanting to come forever. Was able to get a last minute reservation at the bar. Actually really liked the vibe sitting at the bar. The ladies who served us were all really friendly. The menu is definitely more on the limited side with some dishes leaning towards spicy. We got the ravioli and the zucchini special which were both very good. Didn't know what the portions would be like but I would say definitely not a large amount of food. We liked what we got and weren't too full. Finished with the orange cake which was what was recommended. To us, it was okay. I'm glad we tried what we did. Reasonably priced for the amount of food we got as well. Plenty of parking spaces. Would come back!

Yelp
First I don't usual travel far for a restaurant, secondly I just got off a plane 3 hours before our reservation. But it was a good friends birthday & I did not have to drive. I am so glad I dragged my self out. Beautifully decorated, great service ((we were 7 people!). But the food! It was unbelievable good! If you live within 30 miles of Netties. Run don't walk there! It is a true gem.

Yelp
We had a great time here after making a last minute decision to pay them a visit. The restaurant has an old school yet updated feel and made us feel right at home. We sat at the bar and started with some gin drinks off of their negroni menu. We enjoyed the fried mozzerella appetizer and pasta dishes as well as the attentive service from the bartender. Although, it was a little pricey for the amount of food served, you could tell it was good quality. Since Nettie's is a short drive away, I have a feeling we will be back.

Yelp
I loved the taste of the salad. It had a little zip but also tasted like a twist on my mother's antipasto with the pickled vegetables. My pasta was also very tasty. The decor is art deco. The people are warm and welcoming! I'll definitely go back. Get a reservation!

Yelp
I always wanted to get to Nettie's especially since they banned children under 10. It's a smaller restaurant with some tables, bar seating and they typically seem busy. We started with drinks which were all tasty but very limited. I had 3 others with me and one drink menu must have been incorrect and they couldn't make my friend that drink. Unfortunately, the bar tap wasn't working so no one could get anything from there, either. Our waitress was very nice but the service was overall very slow. We had a 6pm reservation (showed up a few minutes early) and we weren't done until 8:20 and that's without dessert or coffee. It took quite awhile to even order our dinner. We had a variety of dishes from meatballs to a special with ricotta and lamb dumplings. I definitely think I would rate this restaurant as average with above average pricing. Portions are small for the prices and nothing was great. My meatballs might have been slightly overcooked. What I found interesting was their reiteration of the cancellation policy. You must provide a credit card and on the Resy email confirmation it states a $20 per person cancellation fee but on the Resy app it says $10 per person cancellation fee. Just be warned there's definitely a cancellation fee.

Yelp
This place is a local hidden jem, although it's not really hidden. We (a work colleague and I) turned up for work and looked online for a few local places. Found Nettie's and decided to give it a go. Walked in to a totally awesome looking restaurant, with hints of Art Deco and great styling. Sat at the bar and chatted with the waitress who gave us some quality recommendations for plate choices. We decided to give a few things a try and honestly, we were NOT disappointed. The food was presented extremely nicely, tasted delicious and was keeping us going 'Mmmmm, this is so good' and we are both foodies! Honestly, this place is A.MAZ.ING.

Yelp
PROS The staff is very nice. There is ample parking. It's in a secluded section of town. There is outdoor seating when weather permits, they say the chef takes pride in preparation. CONS It's hard to have a conversation with your party. The pasta portions are very small. The tables are very small and narrow. The bus staff removes an eaten course too quickly, probably due to the small tables, so there will be ample room for the next course. The main CON is the food is way overpriced. Canned beer served and poured by the server, two no-no's. Fried golf-sized meatballs 6-7 $18??? One and done.

Yelp
Made mistake of winging it for a table aaaaand waited but it was worth it. First if I ever wanted to rent a speak out for and old school speakeasy poker tournament this would be the place. The only thing it was missing was the smell of cigarettes and anise. The food is old school Italian with a fusion flare exceeded my expectations very delicious. Some must haves the zatar mushrooms, whipped ricotta, pastas, I now got to back for a chicken Parm Wednesday. Would skip the cauliflower not roasted or tasty IMO just seemed bland hit it with some more lemon and tahini maybe add some Sumac or roasted pine nuts. The old school vibe and bar was amazing, bartenders and staff all very nice, by far the best Negroni drink options I've ever seen and loved each one of them ! Finally the deserts especially the olive oil cake was phenomenal I highly recommend the experience but reserve a table the wait sucks!

Yelp
Came here the day before Father's Day with a reservation. We were seated right away and ordered soon after. The food came out super fast. The favorites were the salmon and the lemon fettuccine. I personally liked their pesto. We were in and out in 30 minutes! My only qualm was that the salmon seemed super overpriced. $40 for deep fried salmon, with no sides.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try Nettie's after hearing amazing things about it and honestly it lived up to the hype! I went with some friends the other night and we got the arrabbiata, the chicken parm (a special for the night), and the stuffed stradette to share. Everything was delicious and the service was very friendly. Our waitress was super willing to give us suggestions and answer any questions. The menu is pretty small but I think there's an option for everyone, also think it it was very fairly priced. The whole atmosphere was great and this is a place I'm definitely making a staple. Ps - it is a pretty small place so I would recommend making a reservation!

Nicole V.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the ambiance is very cool but I have never felt more rushed in a restaurant before. By 30 minutes into our reservation, we had our drinks, appetizers and main course's. We ordered dessert and another round of drinks, and while I still had a full drink, the waitress asked me if we needed anything else or just the check. I told her that she can bring the check but we're not leaving yet as I still had a full drink. We were there about an hour and a half and while I was actively drinking my drink and finishing my dessert when the waitress asked us if we wouldn't mind getting up and finishing it at the bar because they had other reservations and needed our table. All of the tables around us were being turned around so fast, I don't think i've ever seen it like that before. As a paying customer, I have never felt more rushed in a restaurant before, and while the food was delicious, I would never visit again.

Yelp
Delicious food in this hidden gem. The buttermilk ricotta appetizer slathered on Italian bread was to die for! Dinner and drinks were good. Quite noisy, but we were at a small table for two in a corner.

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience tonight at Nettie's! It was our first time there, and it came highly recommended from many of our friends. We chose the whipped ricotta, mushrooms, kale pesto & meat sauce and everything was delicious! We finished our dinner with the lemon tiramisu and it was SO good! Emily, our server, was very diligent and kind and definitely played a huge role in our experience, we agreed it was the best service we have ever received. Highly recommend! If you take anything from this review - get the ricotta!!!

Sandy P.

Yelp
First, I would like to say, that there are way too many rules at this restaurant. We all know about the kids rule there, which I can understand to a point, but as soon as you walk in, you aren't allowed to go to the bar. You must wait to be seated. You are told where to stand and it is just outlandish. I will admit the food was above average, but expensive. The wine prices were absolutely ridiculous!! I have dined at some really fine restaurants around the world and this rinky dink place in Tinton Falls had the audacity to charge $85 for a bottle of Pinot Noir from Oregon that retails for $30? You must be kidding, even a glass of wine there is $17 a glass. I'm sorry, its just wrong...The staff is rude and arrogant. My advice, I love good food, but I will not tolerate being treated like I did. First and last visit.

Jackie B.

Yelp
the main dishes were very good but unfortunately can't remember what they were . I was looking forward to the house salad , but couldn't eat because there was too much vinegar. Drinks were good but expensive. . meatballs were excellent so ordered spaghetti and meatballs to go for my son. was told that it would be an extra 14 dollars for the spaghetti. i just took the meatballs. What italian restaurant doesn't have a spaghetti and meatballs dish ??? Just give me two less meatballs with a cup of pasta and call it a day , I was informed that there was an extra charge for parmesan on my salad . just charge the extra 2 dollars for the salad . Don't aggravate customers with knickle and diming . Our waitress was completely unable to read social cues. Some decent food but over rated and overpriced IMO

Yelp
The first time I came here I was impressed with the quality of the food, and the excellent service, which can make or break a dining experience. This visit was not what we had expected; the service was lacking. I understand no substitutions to a certain extent but putting the same sauce on a wider noodle is an EASY FIX in a kitchen unless the food is precooked, which it's not! So, getting back to the point about good service making or breaking your dining experience -- full disclosure; I requested a wider noodle which is easier for me to digest due to abdominal surgery, the waitress was indifferent and a tad arrogant. Very different from last time. There were four of us, three live locally and dine here frequently, one of them a few times monthly, and they were shocked because the request wasn't outrageous and to not accommodate your guests is a mistake. I wanted pesto sauce on a wider noodle, pretty simple. The restaurant is small and loud and not decorated in any specific style, it's the food that makes this restaurant! Two of us ordered the pesto, and two ordered chicken. All very tasty. Never a complaint about the quality of the food. For our appetizer we had the whipped lemon ricotta, delicious. The bread was fresh and warm. Other than our server, who we believe NEVER did ask the kitchen for our noodle request, it was nice to be with friends of MANY years!
google avatar

James D.

Yelp
Nettie's was excellent. The Negroinis were flawless and all of our pasta dishes were really delicious, The vinegar chicken was the star of the show, absolutely DO NOT skip. Service was solid and the prices were fair. Got a bottle of wine and lots of food between 6 people was about $300. Very reasonable!
google avatar

Kyle W.

Yelp
Gluten Free I really enjoyed both the ambiance and the staff. The chicken was very good, cooked just right with a nice crispy outside. Warning: it is on the hotter side. The menu is slightly limited, but delicious. Don't get me started on the 24-month old aged pecorino. Shit Slaps. Only reason for no 5 is no availability to gluten free pasta.

Nicholas W.

Yelp
Big price tag / Tiny portions $288 for four of us to eat and we immediately went home and decided what else to eat The salmon entree for $40 we honestly just laughed... at max this is 4-5oz of breaded and deep fried salmon... this should be an appetizer for $18 The Sunday sauce is a small side order of rigatoni with two little meatballs and two sausages... $40+ The Ricotta starter and salad were amazing Drinks were also very good Food quality was very good But man... give us some damn food... with the price we paid the the amount of food we received... never ever will I come back Oh and lastly... it was my birthday, which went completely ignored. I'd give this place a C+ For reference I added a photo of our $40 potion of salmon

Kathy M.

Yelp
Very disappointing! Although we had a reservation, table seemed hastily placed in the center of the room with a clear view/within earshot of the kitchen. Only somewhat redeeming dish was the whipped ricotta, but served with bread slices which were thin sliced and didn't seem fresh baked. Raviolis (only 6 small ones as an entree) was flavorless and accompanying sauce, although tasty, was very sparse. Dinner partner had spinach fettuccine which she said was bland and the sauce uninspired. Prices are outrageous for the quality and quantity of food.
google avatar

Steven G.

Yelp
From the outside you don't expect much. Cocktails, entrees, apps all incredible and worth it 100%. Whipped ricotta cavatelli was amazing, flat iron was solid, spinach fettuccine was fresh and don't feel bloated leaving. Quality all around and one of the few restaurants I've left recently that I wanted to leave a review. Waitress and service was also great and recommended us in the right direction.

Tim S.

Yelp
This was not what was expected! Let's start out with the plus the service was great the drinks and cocktails were very good! The space was like an updated old school bar/eatery was just ok not my taste kind of hipster like...now the Food it wasn't good the portions were tiny the food wasn't flavorful at all for the money they charge this is a Miss $50 for a tasteless chicken come on guys you can do better do not waste your money! Go to the bar for drinks and eat somewhere else!
google avatar

Ashley P.

Yelp
From the outside it does not look like much but inside it gives classy speak easy vibes. Great for a date night or going out to eat with friends. We enjoyed everything that we ordered and found the food both fresh and flavorful. The pasta melts in your mouth and the drinks were the perfect balance. The staff there is efficient and friendly. Will definitely be coming back!
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
Honestly I can only review the staff as we had a reservation for 3 which became 4. Who knew that any restaurant would only have a single table specifically for 3.. in the worst location in the small cramped space. They did not want to move the couple behind us from a 4 top to the 3 top likely because it was a table that should not have existed .. I frequent establishments that tend to all their customers and not just the ones they are related to. I will likely not be able to review their food. Though it sounds adequate .

Lindsay C.

Yelp
Not usually a mezcal fan but the waitress steered me to try the drink (if I didn't like it she'd make it with regular tequila) and she was right! Awesome waitress, very informative. To start: We got the eggplant, ricotta, and fried mushrooms. The eggplant was to die for as well as the ricotta. The ricotta was so smooth. Both unable to grab pics of due to how quick we ate it. The fried mushrooms were very good too and taste like calamari with a very light but delicious crunch. I got the Sunday special for dinner; my portions were good however some people w other meals at the table who got a shrimp parm special and the pastas did not get great portions...however all dishes were good. The meatballs were very good and the sausage had a nice spice to it although I wished the dish was sauced more! Very good place and hope to come back again

Yelp
I am on vacation and go to this restaurant that someone recommended and After what I saw 2 nights ago I would give this place NO stars. I was sitting next to a table of 2 senior citizen couples who were so polite and the waitress was so rude to them it was horrible. It was like sitting next to your sweet grandparents they were so nice but I guess they asked too many questions. After they ate their dinner the owner came out and was even worse to them asking them to leave because they just asked a question. This place is not nice to the customers especially seniors. Very disrespectful and disappointing. I am so happy I live in Florida. They do not treat their customers here in Florida. The food was nothing to brag about and I will never come back again
google avatar

Monique S.

Yelp
This place is beautiful. The inside has a great chill vibe and I'm glad I came here for dinner while on vacation. Although they were busy the staff accommodated us with seats at the bar right before they closed. We ordered fried mushrooms, flower shaped ravioli, cacio e pepe, and fluke. The start of the night was the flower shaped ravioli. It was an explosion of cheesy goodness, if we hadn't ordered the last one of the night I would have ordered more. The cacio e pepe was a huge plate and I couldn't barely finish the noodles. The noodles had a great bite to them and the sauce was perfect. The fried mushrooms was slightly over fried but I enjoyed the taste of the mushrooms. I didn't taste the fluke but my companion stated it was good but the portion was small. The staff here is super nice for accommodating us as walk ins and delivering the food and drinks constantly. When I visit again I will definitely take photos inside the old school phone booth.

Yelp
Another phenomenal dinner at this "go to" Italian restaurant. These guys are legit! Homemade, REAL DEAL food in a retro-cool vibe. I don't know how they are not sold out every night as "it's that good!"
google avatar

Tina B.

Yelp
We went because we had heard so many great reviews. The food was overpriced ( in my opinion) and not as good as expected. The bar service was slow for our server. My sister ordered a chocolate martini and was brought a chocolate Negroni. We had to tell the waitress that it was not the correct drink. We will not be back

Yelp
We had our anniversary dinner recently at Netties. Didn't know about Netties until they announced new dining policy. It was only a 25 minute drive, so thought it'd be worth a try. We had a 5:45 reservation and were sat immediately in a side room just off the bar. Atmosphere is super cute and homey. We tried 2 of their original cocktails, lemontini and pear me up. Both were excellent! Lemontini came in a chilled glass and tasted exactly like a lemon Italian ice! Dinner was spaghetti w meat sauce, stuffed stradette, and an order of meatballs which we split. Everything was hot, fresh, and really good. Meatballs are fried, so hard on outside soft on inside. For dessert, we got coffees and shared zeppoles with a chocolate hazelnut dipping sauce. So tasty!! Bathrooms were modernized and very clean. Once full, restaurant was noisy but we could still hear each other fine. Overall, very enjoyable anniversary dinner!

Ani Z.

Yelp
It was loud the entire time I had dinner. (Even with their "no kids under 10" rule I did spot a kid who looked like they were under 10). I could hear everyone's conversations and unnecessary comments from the tables next to us. The house salad looked like a pile of sauerkraut. The prime flat iron was overcooked and barely edible despite pairing it with a plate of dry yucca "fries". The chicken had too many hot spices and barely any vinegar. The only saving grace was the chocolate cake.

Yelp
Over rated and over priced over looking the Monmouth County land fill. People seem to like it but I can't figure out why?

Yelp
Best Italian food we've had in Monmouth County! The cheeses and bread are so fresh and delicious. Portions are small for the price so we didn't have leftovers to take home. Our server, Anj, was excellent. Shame they don't have GF pasta, but there are non-pasta options. It's way too warm in there in the summer though. Will definitely be going again!

Yelp
Famous for their original dishes freshly made to order. Updated design with an art deco style, as a speakeasy with an impressive bar. $$$ reservations highly suggested.

Yelp
Crazy overpriced for what it is - OK pasta in a terrible location with a bad vibe. It's Jersey, many pizza joints have better pasta for half the price. We had an insane amount of food leftover and didn't even bring it home. Added one star for our server who was great.

Yelp
This place is the hidden gem. A perfect spot for excellent food and drinks(coco smoke and elderflower spritz) The whole staff is amazing from the kind and helpful hostesses that greet you, to the talented and friendly bartenders that make your amazing cocktails, to the wait and service staff that serve the amazing menu items. Chopped salad, zucchini parmesan and Netties hot vinegar chicken are my go-to's. Finish the night with a delicious desert or expresso martini or sambuca.

Yelp
Drove through on my way to Portland, Maine. I'm 100% Italian and know what a good sauce is. This is not good sauce. They must have forgotten to use tomatoes because it was mostly water. No bueno!

Yelp
We live down the street and absolutely love coming here. We would pick Nettie's over any other restaurant around. Excellent service, immaculate vibes, fresh food, top shelf drinks and a creative menu every-time. I lived in Manhattan for 6 years and this is the closest I've come to a cozy NYC establishment in NJ. Anyone complaining clearly hasn't experienced the real deal when it comes to fine dinning.

Yelp
Ricotta, Ricotta. Ricotta and bread. That's about it. Great service, nice ambiance. Small portion, mediocre sauce. Heard great things. I'm Italian -maybe that is the problem. Not delicious. quite costly. 1 and done!

Yelp
Very limited menu. I had the pasta with broccoli and very bland and no sauce. Very disappointed after all of the great reviews

Yelp
One of my all time favorite restaurants! Don't let the outside fool you, inside is eclectic, retro, disco vibes. The pasta dishes are to die for, I have tried a majority of them. They also make excellent cocktails and have a unique wine list. Great place for a date night. And to top it off, the desserts are also unreal. Been here many times and haven't had a bad meal or experience yet.

Yelp
Basic but decent Italian food with insane prices. Everything is served family style to "share" however you can't really share because the portions are so small. So, just remember that the $35 steak will be approximately 5 bites worth. Went in a group of 4, total bill came to $250 without dessert or coffees.

Yelp
Best part was the nice staff. Salad had so many peppers that it was too hot to eat. Meatballs were fried to the point of being hard and crisp on the outside. Ravioli was too salty to eat. Menu was limited. This place has more alcohol on their menu then food. Only 2 dessert choices apple sorbet and one other. Very overpriced. We won't go back.

Yelp
This place will blow your socks off. I have been to many fine dining and Michelin star establishments and this is up to par with them. The price, quality and portions are great. Pasta, pizza, salad, dessert and apps are all fantastic. The fresh herbs in the pasta dishes are nicely paired. You need to go, will not disappoint!

Yelp
Loved our experience here. Great date night. Yummy, nice room and gracious adult atmosphere. I especially appreciated the good service. Great restaurant but a totally inappropriate atmosphere for kids. If you want to bring your kids, don't eat here.

Yelp
We just dined here for the first time on Friday night and had a pleasant experience. The service was friendly and the food was fresh and tasty. However, I have to say - I feel this place is WILDLY overpriced. I don't say that lightly; I know many restaurants have had to endure a lot of hardship over the past year+. I can only imagine what it's like to have to function at a reduced capacity with all of the additional trouble and expenses. But taking into consideration the food portions, the restaurant itself (ambiance, decor), and comparable restaurants in the area, I cannot justify the prices at this place. The restaurant itself is a very unassuming lone building on a corner lot. Inside, the ambiance is decently casual with somewhat dated decor. It was actually a bit louder inside than I expected, considering the limited capacity. We sat at a table that had bench seating on one side and chairs on the other. The bench was unfortunately pretty uncomfortable; I felt like I was sitting very upright and couldn't relax at all in my seat. No tablecloth but nice marble-looking tabletop. Nothing on the table except a small candle (not even salt and pepper). The waitress was very friendly and attentive. She was also decently knowledgeable about the menu; no complaints on the service. While we enjoyed most of what we ate throughout the night, the price of the food for the portions we got was just absurd. I even looked back at photos of the menu here on Yelp to compare: in November 2019, there was a menu photo showing some similar menu items, and comparing them to what's on the menu today, here are some of the differences: - Meatballs - $11 then, $16 now - Sweet Italian Sausage - $12 then, $25 now - Cavatelli with broccoli rabe & sausage: $15 then. Cavatini now (no sausage), $21 Many of the other menu items seem to have got up on average $2-3. That may not be an absurd increase over an 18 month period, but I think the prices were high to begin with, especially with everything being a la carte, which is what really gets you. Regarding the portions, while many of them are arguably appropriate for a single person's sitting, they just don't match the price. For my dinner, I had the Fettuccini ($25) and was able to finish the whole thing, no problem, after also having mozzarella, prosciutto and bread for an appetizer. It was delicious, and I appreciate that the pasta is made in house, but for a simple dish with just lemon, parm & pepper, the price was too high for the portion I got. We also had Nettie's Hot Vinegar Chicken, which was delicious, but that dish ($27) served by itself + a side of the Beans & Brussels ($14) = a $41 entree, still with no starch. It's just too much. The Sicilian Orange Cake and Chocolate Espresso Ice Cream were tasty desserts, and the coffee was very good. But all of that + 2 glasses of wine and a mocktail put us over $200 after tip for a dinner for 2. While the food was good, we unfortunately just can't justify going back any time soon.

Yelp
The waitress was very condescending towards us like this was our first time out having dinner. The entrées were not what we expected, we are one and done will not be back.
