"This Jersey City restaurant, located near the mouth of the Holland Tunnel, provides three elegant dining rooms, a full bar, and a voluminous menu that’s only slightly more expensive than the usual Vietnamese café. The pho is top notch, and a bowl seems to be on every table at lunchtime. But maybe go for some of the other dishes, including the legendary “shaking beef” (bo luc lac), a lemongrass saute of squid or chicken, a fried whole flounder, or clams steamed in beer. Seafood is a strong point." - Robert Sietsema, Bao Ong

Google
Great Vietnamese place on the corner of 10th street in Jersey City. It is very spacious, staff is great and food is really good. If you are vegetarian like me..it is not that great for appetizers , but all the pho's we ordered were delicious. My frnds ordered soft shell crab and beef pho and they totally loved it.

Google
My favorite Vietnamese restaurant . You can taste and tell from the beef soup base. (Lots of beef bones to generate soup base) Won’t disappoint you. # 2 beef & 9 (grill pork chop) spring rolls for appetizer

Google
The pho was delicious and size was huge! And I love the summer rolls. Pork shoulder over fried rice was so good and I brought one share to go for the next day🔥They are very friendly. Service was warm too. This is the only pho shop opens for indoor dining during pandemic. Compared to other pho shops I have been so far, it is definitely a nice place worth going.

It's good to see this restaurant survived covid. The owners and workers are the same as well. Overall this place was the same as pre-covid except prices did go up a bit higher. I ordered the chicken pho and chicken vermicelli. The pho was good. It had flavorful and good amount of noodles. However, the grilled chicken was fatty. I wish they used white meat instead of dark or at least had that option. The same is true for the vermicelli. I wished the chicken was breast meat as well. The food came out quickly too

Google
Wow! Great food. We have been here several times. Always a wonderful experience. Porkchop and rice is my fave. Spring rolls are another favorite. The servixe is fantastic. Always fast and friendly. :)

Google
Vary clean Vietnamese restaurant with outdoor dining. I had the house special Pho. It is definitely homemade broth because it has a small amount of fat on the broth that you only get when made in house. It was a large bowl with plenty of ingredients. However for my taste the broth was a little bland it was good but lacking the deep flavor.

As soon as you walk everyone is working and no one was paying any mind to greeting us and seating us, mind you the place was empty no customers. They definitely need to work on their customer service tables weren't cleaned up and no one checked up on us. Food was good, nothing special. We didn't finish our food, it was hard to get anyone's attention so my bf had to go get containers him self next to the bar and pack our own food. *avocado bubble tea must have!

Google
A good Vietnamese restaurant. Their Pho's are really great, especially the broth. Pork Banh mi sandwich is too good! Quantity to price ratio is excellent! The only dumn thing is they dont provide you with the detailed cheque

Yelp
Im from the west coast and I can definitely say that this place has one of best AUTHENTIC viet food in the NJ/NYC area. We had the vietnamese ice coffee, grilled pork combo (com tam suong heo), the corner pho special rice noodle soup (hu tieu), egg rolls (cha gio), and house combo beef pho and all of it was phenomenal! The restaurant was very spacious, clean, and the ambience of this restaurant is a total vibe. Vietnamese ice coffee (5/5): the vietnamese ice coffee isnt too sweet, but also comes with one huge ice cube so it doesnt water down the coffee, while still keeping the coffee nice and cold Grilled pork combo (4.5/5): the pork was grilled perfectly and you could taste the char on it from being on the grill. It comes with 2 perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs and this salty/ savory vietnamese meat. The corner pho special rice noodle soup (5/5): this was my favorite dish and very similar to how my mom makes it at home! It comes woth crispy pork bits that is still crunchy after absorbing all the soup and comes with so many different types of seafood/ meats Egg rolls (4/5): we forgot to take a picture bc we devoured them so fast but it comes with plenty of meat and a thin/ crispy outside Pho (5/5): the most AUTHENTIC pho ive tried in the NJ/NYC area. The broth is clear and so flavorful packed with so much spice and depth. Definitely my go-to viet spot from now on!

Yelp
Very upscale place for a pho spot. However, I didn't see any Vietnamese people here nor Asian customers beside our party. Service was very good and attentive. The fried calamari was really good. Super crispy and fresh. We had the summer rolls and spring rolls as well. The spring roll was pretty good and full of meat. The summer roll was not nearly as good however and I usually like the summer rolls over the spring rolls. We also had the fried marketplace fish which was flounder that day. You can choose between two sauces. The waitress recommended the ginger sauce, but that sauce was very light and was lacking something. Otherwise the fish was delicious. We tried the Bon Bo Hue soup. It was okay it did not seem as flavorful as other places I am used to in Maryland. The deserts here seemed pretty good especially the pan dan pana catta. Overall the food was pretty good; however, usually I would come for the soup and summer rolls which was just okay.

Yelp
I haven't been here since the previous Vietnamese restaurant, and although I still miss the old place, this restaurant is solid. Off the bat, you can tell the interior is cleaner and updated, and there's even a Happy Hour menu offered (including weekends!). Food is average but satisfying, and a bit pricey but expected for the area. The menu is not as large as other Vietnamese restaurants, but it has the most popular items you could ask for (pho, bun bowls, rice dishes etc.). I ordered the Bun Bo Hue and thought the flavor was mild and could've been richer. The banh mi was nicely filled, and we enjoyed the banh xeo. Overall a decent Viet spot.

Danielle G.

Yelp
Great service and yummy food. My favorite summer rolls are served here, ask for the peanut sauce with it, trust me. Larger restaurant for the area, with a nice bar so definitely can accommodate larger parties if need.

Gianna S.

Yelp
This is a great pho spot on the border of Jersey City and Hoboken. It is very large inside so reservations/seating is not a concern. Service was attentive and quick - appetizers came out less than 5 minutes after ordering - but also did not feel rushed so we could enjoy the meal. The pho was a little oily and could have had a a bit more flavor to the broth, but the meat and noodles were tender. The prices are a good value for the large serving sizes. Summer rolls (shrimp) - $9 Chicken pho - $16 Soda - $3

Christine H.

Yelp
Came on a Sunday afternoon and place was half full. We got seated immediately and the wait staff were all super friendly. Our waters were also always full. - Bun Bo hue hit the spot with a flavorful soup and a hefty portion of meat along with the pig trotter. - Pho dac biet had tasty meaty bone broth and hefty amount of meat/tendons! - shaking beef lunch was lemongrassy and was the perfect "app" to our bowls of noodles Overall super glad to have found a good pho place in JC!

Sherry K.

Yelp
The ambiance was comfortable. The food was delicious! The beef and carrots in my Bo kho melted in my mouth. The bread was the correct combination of crispy and soft! The Pho was perfect and the beef rolls were delectable! My Thai tea couldn't have been more perfect! If we make it back to the New York are we will definitely come back!! They had several Uber Eats and Door Dash while we were there!

Monica L.

Yelp
Great pho and also appetizers!!! The place is big so you dont feel crowded at all; ehich was good since our 2yo ended up taking a nap and we could have the stroller next to us comfortably!Decoration simple but clean (a bit more cozier would be nice, but overall super comfy) Service is attentive, pretty fast and they don't rush you to pay and leave, which I appreciate. About food, really 5/5 both rolls were tasty! Summer shrimp roll perfect and the Spring roll was the best, so crunchy with delicious fill. Pho was very generous and the broth was perfect, not too salty. Will def come back

Lynne C.

Yelp
I enjoyed my meal at The Corner Pho. Our waiter was very nice and helped give us recommendations for what to order. They also let us change seats so we would have a better view of the TV. The restaurant itself is very spacious and clean. I had the fresh rolls, which were great. The chicken pho was also good, although I would recommend asking for chili paste on the side to give it more flavor.

Desiree D.

Yelp
i loved the chicken broth with seafood pho! a lot of flavor and a good amount of shrimp. my friends loved theirs too. i also sampled of their sugar cane drink, which was VERY sweet, but good! perfect service & love the atmosphere. ps they do happy hour, even on sundays!

Nicholas W.

Yelp
Great pho that came out insanely fast, friendly servers, nice little place with a good view for just watching people go by. Definitely can't complain about any part of the experience!

Joshua K.

Yelp
Nice little spot in Jersey city. Phos is good. Spring rolls are a great crispy on top. Great to go for a nice bite.

Karina U.

Yelp
We ordered the fried spring rolls, beef pho and lemongrass chicken with rice and an extra side of pickled vegetables. The interior is bright and clean and the staff are polite and attentive. Their tap water is really tasty, which I'm picky about. The chicken was flavorful and extremely tender and delicious and the rice was perfect. The pho I would say was alright... the beef wasn't quite as tender as I would have liked. The spring rolls were full of meat and came out hot and crispy and they were very hearty. I would definitely come back for some more chicken! Oh and there is a huge tv in the back where they put the game on on Sundays.

Nancy Y.

Yelp
So glad that we finally have another option for good Viet food in the area! Replacing everyone's past favorite Viet spot, The Corner Pho has a much more modern look. The service is attentive and pretty quick. We were seated relatively quickly right before the dinner rush. The staff is also extremely kind. I always judge how good a place actually is based on their spring rolls. It's so easy to mess up but The Corner Pho made it perfectly. It was stuffed and fried to perfection. Was not too heavy or oily. We also got our other favorite, the summer rolls. The peanut sauce was a great consistency (I really hate when it's watered down). The Bun Bo Hue lacked a bit of flavor but one can argue that it's not as heavy as other places. I actually really enjoyed it and it really hit the spot. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more from the menu. Can't wait for them to offer delivery!

David J.

Yelp
Amazing really good food. One of the best places to go eat. Service is amazing and atmosphere is a great. Modern look and staff is very professional. Great overall.

Kevin K.

Yelp
I ordered the House combination Beef Pho, it was good. Soup came out hot & has good flavor, good amount of noodles. Just wish they would put the uncooked beef on top of it, cuz the beef were at the bottom and by time time came to my table the beef is already overcook. But it is still good. But I do wish there were little more of the beef tendon, I believe there were only one tiny piece of it. Overall, I like this place and would go back again.

Joely R.

Yelp
FANTASTIC food. The short ribs and pork chops were great. The spring rolls were perfectly crispy. The Vietnamese coffee was well balanced and not overly sweet. 5/5!!

Amy L.

Yelp
Delicious food in Hamilton park! While we still have our personal favorite spot for pho in the heights, it's great to add The Corner Pho as an option when we don't want to trek all the way there or pay a hefty delivery fee to downtown JC. The house combination beef pho was solid and it included one my favorites - tripe! While not the best pho in JC, it's a really great option. My boyfriend got the grilled lemongrass pork chop over rice and it was probably the best we've had in a long time! Not too badly priced either since we came during lunch and ordered it off the lunch menu. Lastly we also got some fried spring rolls. Extremely crispy and very meat heavy - good but not great. The staff was also super sweet while we were there. All in all, a great spot to try and we'll definitely be coming back.

Yelp
As a Hungry vegetarian I came here. It is very close to the park and it is good to see another restaurant opening up around here to fill the void which I feel helps give residents another option. I came here on a Sunday evening to have a meal. I was happy to see they were vegetarian options. The place is packed and full of lots of families in big groups. The service was professional and I was pleasantly happy with my meal. The price was a little above what I'm used to paying for a similar food though I understand they just open up and it's a huge space so they need to price it accordingly. I recommend this place for groups and families.

Christine E.

Yelp
Jersey City, NJ // I am being partial and biased as The Corner Pho has big shoes to fill. They're the new tenant so comparison is only normal. New Thahn Hoai (NTH) was a JC staple for years. It was great eats, homey, affordable and frequented by local families. With that said, The Corner Pho is delicious, but it may still need to woo old JC locals. Food 3.5/5: Hubby and I had the grilled lemongrass pork special, shaken beef cubes, fried spring rolls, Thai tea, and house tee. Price 3/5: Definitely on the expensive side. Pork special had 1 pork versus NTH's 2. Spring rolls were delicious and came with 4 pieces versus NTH's 8. They were thick and meaty and could have easily been portioned as 8. Beef cubes were ok. House tea was extra $ versus being complimentary at NTH. Service 5/5: Awesome. They have a great, attentive team. Kudos! Ambience 3.5/5: Bathrooms were the same. Main dining hall was updated with brighter lighting, new seating, and quirky murals. Will definitely come back to try the Pho. Hoping for additional dishes!

Cole L.

Yelp
Came here after seeing the wait for Rumba Cubana was over 2 hours. We were seated right away. Everything was phenomenal! The pho was delicious and plentiful. The short ribs were delectable and the spring rolls were perfection! We will definitely be back

A K.

Yelp
Lovely ambiance and extremely nice staff and service. This place is always bustling and busy, but they seat and serve you quickly. We are vegetarian, so we order the vegetarian Pho and saute tofu and lemongrass. However we found that the menu options for vegetarians is very limited. The food was okay, nothing to go crazy over. On thing we really enjoyed was their fresh lemonade. It was refreshing and light and one of the nicest lemonades we've ordered.

Sean M.

Yelp
Lemongrass lean pork is my weakness. Love it! I'd like to explore the menu further but I'm hooked!

Cassandra W.

Yelp
the corner pho used to be new thanh hoai at this location, and they just soft opened on monday 05/16/2023 - we live around the neighborhood and were super excited to check it out! we came at around 8pm and there were around 5 or 6 other tables seated as well, not too loud, so chatting was nice and easy. the interior feels much more sleek than it did before, they did a lot of work to make the restaurant have more of a modern and clean feel. the service was great - too great, actually, the waitress asked us if we were ready to order like only two minutes after we had sat down lol. but they were very attentive throughout our meal! the food came out fairly quickly too, not entirely sure if it's just because the staff is ready to rumble for their soft opening or if it was because they weren't too busy, but we were very pleased :)) we ordered the house combination beef pho ($15.95) and grilled lemongrass pork special over broken rice ($18.95). for the pho, i think the broth was a bit too sweet, but everything else was great. they gave an ample amount of noodles and my partner thought the meat portion was perfect. he noted that there was only one beef ball though, and felt slighted because the menu says "beef balls" (plural) LOL but it's fine. side note that they were very quick to give us the sides (bean sprouts, basil, etc)! of the two though, i think my favorite def has to be the grilled lemongrass pork special though. presentation was not bad. the pork chop was super flavorful and good, not dry at all. the pork patty was yummy too! shredded pork grinds have never really been my favorite so they were just okay to me. the egg that this dish came with was perfectly runny and i really enjoyed popping it and mixing the yolky goodness in with the rice. def gonna be ordering this again in the future lol. i'll be back one day to try their desserts and other dishes too. it looks like they have plans to open up a full bar, as well as some upstairs seating, which will be cool to see. very excited that this spot is back (ish)!

Ray C.

Yelp
The space is definitely modernized a bit from the days of New Thanh Hoai. It doesn't have the typical tables with green tablecloths under glasstop adorned with all types of sauces and Euro-pop music playing in the background...only Sriracha and Hoisin sauce are available as condiments. Tables are modern wood with ceramic tableware and the space seemed brighter than before. The main wall is decorated with painted anime/cartoon faces . My first time here on a Thursday afternoon during peak lunch hour but the place was barely half-full. Maybe word hasn't gotten around that the place has re-opened. My friend and I both had the grilled lemongrass chicken over rice lunch specials. He got his with fried rice. He's been here before and got pho last time but said the bowl was not as big as the former residents and the price was more expensive. When we got our dishes, there was maybe one grilled chicken breast cut into pieces over a bed of rice with a couple slices of tomatoes and cucumber and a small bowl of fish sauce. I knew right away, this wasn't going to be filling by itself...maybe we should have gotten some spring rolls too. The dish wasn't bad at all but I just wish there was more of it. When it came time for the bill, our waiter came over and told us how much we owed but there was no paper bill...everything was done on portable electronic devices. For what we ordered, it came out to $37.xx!! Didn't realize that the fried rice substitute was an extra $3.50 for some added soy sauce and frozen veggies mixed in with the rice. Sorry...but that's just ridiculous. Needless to say, I don't think I'll be back again even to try their pho. I saw another patron who ordered a bowl and that didn't look filling either. I'll satisfy my pho cravings at another restaurant in Edison where their XL big bowl is only $14.50....and they still have the green tablecloths.

David H.

Yelp
This place was not very busy but the service was above and beyond! The food was fantastic and traditional. And the ambiance was refreshing and subtle.

Natalie H.

Yelp
We tried the broken rice with grilled pork and the beef pho. The pho broth was flavorful and light, and the portion was large with lots of meat. The grilled pork was really good too and came with eggs and some other sides. It was a little pricey for Vietnamese food, but it's convenient and the best option for Vietnamese food in the Jersey city area.

Erich M.

Yelp
My GF and I were staying around Jersey City and were looking for lunch. The food was delicious and the staff are friendly and professional. Highly recommend!

Rusty R.

Yelp
I always get bun cha and spring rolls and it's never let me down. I haven't dined there - always get take out by ordering online - but the process has been direct and with minimal wait times until food will be ready. I really hope this place is a success.

Marco O.

Yelp
Wait staff was good. They just need to better pay attention to allergies. They also need a better dessert menu.

Sahil C.

Yelp
Nice staff and place, but food has gone downhill unfortunately. The chicken in the chicken curry was rubbery, dry, and overcooked, and the brisket in the pho wasn't flavorful at all.

Dana K.

Yelp
The food was amazing. Probably the best Vietnamese in Jersey City. The service was outstanding, everyone was so nice, efficient, and accommodating. The ambiance is modern, casual, clean, and bright. I will definitely be back!!

Jakyung K.

Yelp
Just moved to jersey city and wanted try this spot. The place is huge and much nicer compared to any other pho spots I've tried in central Jersey. The hip- pho place. It was their "soft opening" Food was ok. And price was pretty high. I guess that's JC for you! Staff were nice. I am still in the hunt of my new pho spot.

Jee ..

Yelp
I waited 2 hrs and 45 mins just for the door dash and the restaurants to tell me that the store gave my food to the wrong person and refused to close my order or remake a new one. I explained to the live chat and to the restaurant that they should've known this information already and this was unprofessional. Then they said whatever and to contact door dash. The lack of customer service from the restaurant and the delivery service lets me know they don't want business from people of color. The 1st the man said when I called the restaurant to let him know what the dasher said was that 'they be lying" and was not trying to help me even though they gave my food to the wrong dasher.

Peter W.

Yelp
To this restaurant, I went twice in a week, Their soft opening, new and unique. Solid Vietnamese food they serve, But nothing stood out, I must observe. Pho and shaking beef, I did taste, While others enjoyed rice plates with great haste. Bun and rice crepes, a delightful treat, But spectacular? It did not meet. Portions small, but rice was plenty, A balance they found, not too heavy. The menu seemed limited at first glance, But grouped together, a clever advance. No pictures on the menu, a plus indeed, Leaving imagination to take the lead. Efficient and friendly, the service they gave, Ensuring a dining experience, I crave. The ambiance, somewhat boho, you see, Yet lacking the cheap hole-in-the-wall glee. Prices compare with other places around, But small portions, be aware, I expound. So there you have it, the tale I tell, Of my visits to that restaurant, oh, do tell. If you need more clarity, just give a shout, I'm here to assist, without a doubt!

Fred B.

Yelp
Very tasty food, great presentation as well. Portions are decent too. Friendly service efficient and informative. Ambiance is delightful bright clean and cheerful.

Ryn A.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars I would. They refused to allow entry to a medical alert service dog. Saying that's no pets are allowed and refusing undestand that medical alert service dogs are not pets. Even after being showed the medical alert service dogs credentials and ID.

Shu R.

Yelp
Food is good, service is good, place is clean and spacious, high ceiling, nice ambiance

Ching yi W.

Yelp
The old vietnamese was the real deal. The menu here is limited and not authentic like the previous one. Higher prices but not quality.

Catherine L.

Yelp
A nice spacious restaurant - good for groups. Our kids love the fried spring rolls and pho (our son had a gluten/dairy/egg allergy) and can safely eat here. Kid approved! :)

Robert G.

Yelp
UPDATE: They seem to have updated the pricing a bit and I want to show my appreciation for listening to customer feedback. The food is always good and fresh and the service is outstanding. I'm really hoping these guys make it. That's a lot of square footage! They did a great job with the buildout, though, and I'm sorry if I was a bit rough in the initial review.

Diana G.

Yelp
Solid pho spot in JC! I've tried the pho, bon bo hue, pork spring rolls and pork chop. The pork chop is excellent and I think I may like the pork chop over rice even more than pho. Overall, the service was good and the renovation looks great. The spring rolls weren't as lightly crispy as I hoped, but still good.

Lauren F.

Yelp
Passed by The Corner Pho driving home last week and was so excited to try it. New Than Hoi's abrupt closing last summer broke my heart, so I was eager to make my way back into once familiar territory. I decided to order take out, so I called my order in as they aren't available on Uber eats yet. The woman I spoke to on the phone was really kind and helpful and provided great insight on the menu when deciding what to order. When I went to pick up my order I was pleasantly surprised to see the familiar space was looking much fresher and improved. Although the bar wasn't up and running yet (soft opening) the l restaurant looked amazing. Although I ordered takeout, I'm definitely going to dine in this week as the vibe of the restaurant was great and super welcoming. I ordered the lemongrass pork with rice, summer rolls, and beef stew pho. Summer rolls were awesome. Really fresh and the classic peanut sauce was spot on . Lemongrass Pork was actually a much bigger portion than I was expecting for the lunch special. Super crispy, and seasoned well. The star of the show was obviously the pho. With a more limited selection of options than their predecessor, I went with the beef stew pho which was uncharted territory for me. The take out packaging was top notch and included a thick plastic bowl to pour the liquid and noodles into which was awesome. The beef was extremely tender and melted in your mouth. There was a much larger portion of beef in the broth as well which was a pleasant surprise. Flavor was amazing, potentially a little sweeter than I was expecting but they hit it out of the park. I can't wait to go back, and will definitely be adding this back into my rotation. Go check them out and support a new local business :)

Sam O.

Yelp
I ordered take out - vegetable pho. I've been searching for good pho around jersey City and I FINALLY FOUND IT!! So flavorful

Jill E.

Yelp
The food here is amazing! I've been coming since they opened and it is one of my favorite places in the area. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, I feel that everyone cares are the quality of food and service here. The atmosphere is great! They have an upstairs that hasn't opened yet, but I am excited for it when it does. The murals on the wall and ceiling are very neat and add to the charm of this place. Definitely worth checking out!

Shreyas P.

Yelp
Ate at the corner pho on Sunday. Got the Vermicelli with Pork and Spring rolls -- it was fantastic Prices seem lower than any other Vietnamese restaurant in the area (including Kung Fu Pho, which also opened recently). Will definitely be a frequent patron of this new restaurant!

K C.

Yelp
Went here for dinner as a group of 8 and was able to be seated right away. This was nice since we chose this place at the last minute. Our waiters, especially Bao (I believe that's his name) were super helpful and attentive. The food we ordered also was delicious and plentiful. We had leftovers to take home! We ordered the crispy fried squid, fried sweet potato with shrimp, grilled options such as lemongrass chicken, short ribs, and pork chop with fried rice and of course pho. Pricing is to be expected due to inflation, but we thought was fair given the amount of food we got! Definitely will come out here again for lunch/dinner whenever we're in the area. Oh, and as far as parking goes, we were able to find one right under the train overpass. I remember the former business using the parking lot next to it but it was locked when we got there. So maybe it's not in use? Either way, if you're in the area or from JC, just check it out!

Christine M.

Yelp
We were excited to see this open recently though we have missed the prior Vietnamese restaurant (New Thanh Hoi). That said, what a welcome addition! The service was fantastic, space has been updated and is still as clean and inviting, and the food was solid. We had the pork spring rolls, chicken pho, beef pho, and grilled pork with rice. Spring rolls were ok but the rest of the meal was delightful. Recommend for sure, especially if you come with young kids!

David S.

Yelp
Best Vietnamese food in Jersey City hands down! Great portion size and prices compared to some other places in the area. Staff are super friendly and attentive, very fast service!
